Sana’a Cafe – Redwood City Absolutely loved this spot! I ordered the mocha latte, which was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. We also shared the Biscoff cheesecake—sadly not pictured because we devoured it way too fast. It was creamy, indulgent, and honestly one of the highlights. The location is super convenient, the service was friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe is warm and inviting. Sana’a Cafe continues to deliver on quality and consistency. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

100% fantastic experience at Sana'a Cafe. Which is a delightful thing to have, especially considering I went during their soft opening. Cardamom coffee, and a Bird's Nest for a small snake treat. Both looked and tasted fantastic!. About any of their coffees with cardamom here, I suggest that you don't do anything to the coffee. When you get it. Simply drink it and enjoy it. I have found that I didn't need to add anything beyond what the counter had done to it already. No milk. No sugar. Just delightful to drink as it is. Everyone behind the counter was a joy to interact with. And since this was my first visit, I ask a lot of questions. They provided a lot of informative answers too. Inside and out the Sana'a Cafe is simply beautiful. All the tables were kept clean. And the station for to-go orders was kept well stocked with everything you could imagine to adjust your coffee to your liking. The bathrooms are clean as well. You can send your kids unattended into their bathroom if you desire. They are that nicely kept. Internet access is very good here. The availability of power outlets less so. But there's a few to be found. I was on foot that day so I didn't have any need to park. But it's downtown redwood City. So expect your normal parking problems as with any downtown area on the peninsula. The only thing I really have left to say is, "why didn't I come in here before"? While talking to the staff I learned there are other Sana'a Cafe locations in the Bay Area. I'm going to be looking up those other locations to see if they're close enough for any of the stops that I have to make. I experienced this location on December 4th, 2025. I heartliy recommend Sana'a Cafe in Redwood City California!

Amazing smell of the spices -- that's what I got once I entered the shop. The location is amazing. It's on 2400 Broadway -- can't get better than this. So many shops and places to walk around in the neighborhood. Love the water stall. What a nice touch. So many desserts and sweets. Just had an American as usual. I know! There are tons of drinks to choose from the menu. What can I say; I'm a simple guy. I'm just here to have some decent coffee after gorging myself with so much foods from Whole Foods.

OMG get off the couch and get your butt down here and order a mocha latte! Coffee and dessert was delicious!!! I will be coming again for the mocha latte! If you don’t like coffee, that’s fine they have a good variety of coffee, teas, refeshers and smoothies. Their pastries and desserts all look amazing too!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars Absolutely outstanding! The tea here is some of the best I’ve ever had—rich, aromatic, and brewed with real care. The dessert was just as impressive: fresh, beautifully made, and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is welcoming, and every detail feels thoughtfully done. I’ve been here twice, you must try the matcha and pistachio teas. This place is a true gem and definitely deserves all five stars. Can’t wait to come back!

Pleasant surprise I was in my way to my favorite smoothie shop next door and this new coffee shop on the block caught my eye. I ordered their Traditional coffee with light sugar as recommended and it was amazing. I think my new favorite coffee shop in town with a very nice atmosphere. I'll be back :) ☕️

Such good Adeni chai and honeycomb pastry - it’s a must go to place! Honeycomb pastry is filled with cheese and topped with honey - perfect sweet and savoury combo. The place is always packed and is a good place for a cosy conversation.

So glad to see a new coffee shop open up in Redwood City. Sana'a has really interesting drinks, nice food and warm people. The interior is also very well done and highlights the origins of the cafe. I also really liked the comfy sofas which makes it an ideal place for catching up with friends.

Beautiful and relaxing. Decor has a high class Middle Eastern vibe, friendly and helpful barista, the cinnamon and cardamom latte was to die for, and the latte art was gorgeous. Highly recommend as a place to get work done or get your morning sweets!

In case you don't want to read, here is the summary: 1) Great coffee 2) great Yemeni treats 3) welcoming to everyone 4) comfortable seating with multiple places to plug in your device, 5) roomy and spacious, 6) friendly, calm, and just a Wonderful Community. Here is the longer review: Searching for a place on Wednesday night in which to finish some work, I came upon "Sana'a Cafe," a special addition to downtown Redwood City. Needing to work on my laptop, I needed a place with outlets to plug in my electronics. Sana'a strategically places them throughout the cafe, adding to the utility and convenience I desire for work. True to its name, all of its food and drinks are sourced from the country of Yemen/have Yemeni roots. What first struck me, however, was that the coffee shop is so clean! Pristine floors, a spotless bathroom, and carefully swept couches and chairs say a lot about the ethos of the cafe. (the kitchen is also immaculate). The shop is gorgeous, with a decor resembling a royal ballroom. Yet the atmosphere is casual; uplifting, yet calm. Wideyed, I was immediately greeted with gentle, open gestures, and kind, inviting smiles from the workers and patrons alike. Impressively, the staff were not only amicable, but also professional and passionate about their menu and customer experience. At the front of the shop, a modern convection stove-top is used to boil everything from Turkish coffee to delicious "Qisher": a traditional Yemeni hot beverage made from the dried husks of coffee cherries, cinnamon, and ginger. While waiting for my drink, the staff taught me about the process of making the coffee: where the ingredients come from, how to boil them to just the right temperature, and how they make it and drink it in Yemen. All drinks are made to order, and can be customized (I had my coffee "black with no sugar," but of course you can have yours with a variety of toppings (sugar, milk straight from Yemen, and honey, to name just a few). Handmade pastries and confections line the beautiful glass cases, which are adorned with silver and gold samovars. They include everything from saffron milk cake to chocolate baklava, and many more items I have never heard of (but want to take home). Several treats are encrusted with pistachios, including the pistachio cake I had, which was cold, creamy, and as moist as a pistachio ice cream cake, but with a subtle honey finish that was not too sweet. The cafe is large in size, and the high ceilings create an even greater sense of spaciousness. Even so, Sana'a somehow manages to maintain a feeling of closeness and connectivity. And that is what stands out most: the community. And of course, at Sana'a, the community is cultivated by the staff and its managers. Knowledgeable and attentive, the baristas are wonderful. They move back and forth from the counter to the kitchen with such ease, one gets the sense they really enjoy being at work here... And, everyone just seems to be friends with everyone else! I spoke with the manager, Naeem, whose name in Arabic means "blessing." "We care a lot about creating a safe space," he says, "an alternative to bars and clubs where people feel comfortable taking a date, spending time with friends, or simply working, all while enjoying a cultural experience." Although I have never been to Yemen, I want to go now more than ever. ....Oh, and the coffee is damn good too!

Great coffee I've had both speciality and normal drinks. Pistachio latte, Yemeni latte, Mufawar and Sanani. They're very different but all great. Nice atmosphere plenty of space for buggies or whatever. The only annoying thing is the beeping of the devices that tells you your drink is done but it's a good system. Go and try it!

Visited Sana’a during the soft opening and had the iced Spanish latte, which took me back to the coffee shops in the Middle East. It was great, not too sweet, and it had the perfect coffee to milk ratio. We also had the Biscoff cheesecake which was so decadent and delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming and everything was spotless, despite it being a full house. I’ll be back!

Thanks Jordan and team for a great Sunday afternoon tea and dessert! We got the strawberry acai refresher ( excellent flavor and perfect sweetness ) and the hot Adeni Chai, 16 oz ( warms and colors my soul with the wonderful blend of spice and creme ). We also got a zatar honeycomb ( not pictured ), which is a perfect, delightful pairing with our drinks. We'll be back for sure!

The drinks are beautifully balanced and comforting, definitely my new favorite spot in Redwood City for something unique and flavorful. Highly recommend!

The new Yemeni coffee shop in Redwood City's downtown area is a charming addition to the neighborhood. When we visited on in morning, it was relatively quiet. The shop, situated at a corner, boasts a lovely interior with tasteful wall decorations and a pleasant seating arrangement. Conveniently located across from a well-known coffee and pastry shop, it offers a variety of coffee options, including pour-over, Turkish coffee, and Yemeni coffee, as well as an assortment of pastries. We ordered a Sana'a latte, Sana'ani pour-over, mocha latte, and a regular latte. The coffee is good. For pastries, we enjoyed a selection of their offerings. However, the service was rather slow, as the staff were juggling both order-taking and preparation. Improving service efficiency would enhance the overall experience.

Well decorated and well lit without doubt. Good environment ,people work here on their laptop. Not too noisy. Adani chai is best as usual. Would give 5 star for service but tables sometimes are dirty after a party leaves. Couches are also dirty with food scrambles on it.

We stopped by Sanaa Cafe in Redwood City for some post-dinner Adeni chai with family. The space itself is beautiful — the location is very aesthetic and there’s plenty of seating, which makes it easy to find a spot even during peak hours. Unfortunately, the Adeni chai was a bit disappointing. It didn’t taste freshly brewed and seemed to be made from a chai mix rather than prepared from scratch. For a place known for tea, that was a letdown. I also wish the teapots came with small candle burners underneath to keep the tea hot while you sit and enjoy it — that would really elevate the experience. For desserts, we tried a few items. The milky baklava wasn’t my favorite and is probably something I’d skip next time. The tiramisu cheesecake had good flavor, but the biscuit layer tasted a little stale. A lot of the desserts looked like they have been hanging out in the fridge for too long. On the positive side, their milk cake (tres leches) biscoff and pistachio is excellent and definitely the standout dessert I’d recommend ordering. Overall, it’s a good spot to hang out with friends or family thanks to the ambiance and seating, but with a few tweaks to quality — especially making the chai fresh brewed — it could be great and compete more strongly with nearby spots like Delah and Qamaria.

Only the vibe, but the food is a letdown. This beautiful cafe just opened up, and we went in excited to try it out. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the aesthetics. We sampled several items, and nearly everything was bland and disappointing. The baklava was hard as a rock and still frozen in the center, the Dubai milk cake looked impressive but tasted just as underwhelming, and even the chai was painfully mediocre. If you are looking for a place to hang out with friends or go on a casual date, the vibe and ambiance make it a decent choice. But if food/drink is the main reason for your visit, this is not the place. Come for the atmospheren and skip the menu.
