Not sure what “Jade” is talking about, the gaminess of the so press atta was my favorite part. Proof is in the empty pizza box! On Wednesday nights I also treat myself to a Diet Pepsi, which pairs excellently with the meal. Although, I think I’d prefer it with a DDP (diet doctor pepper)! I feel like such a bad boy.
The $12 pizza and salad lunch special (I think 11am-4:30pm) was a fantastic meal for 2. What a bargain. The ingredients were delicious. The crust was so good. The service was attentive, quick and accommodating (we wanted the chilis on only one half—my half—of the super piccante). And they brought extra cheese and chili-infused olive oil. Highly recommend!
This was amazing. Best brick oven pizza I’ve had in New York. Sat outside but interior looked cute too. Beer was very nice. Dog friendly as well.
Able to accommodate our large group for lunch easily. Had a delicious fennel salad, white pizza with brussel sprouts and a white pizza with mushrooms. Amazing food, attentive service, a solid experience.
Have been here a few times and never disappointed. If you are a fan of pizza, this is the place to go. Fresh ingredients, nice selection of beer, friendly courteous staff. Asset to the Williamsburg community. Also a fun trivia night every Tuesday. Go and enjoy!
I've had two excellent experiences here. I already knew the food was delicious from ordering take out, but when I showed up with six people and no reservation last night, I learned the service kills here two. The manager rearranged the floor to get us seated. In our brief time at the bar, the bartender was super attentive and sweet to my three nieces. Special shout out to our waitress, Heidi, for taking such great care of us while also juggling what looked like two additional large parties. She did it with ease, like a pro. From combined experiences, I would recommend Chicken Wings, Manilla Clams, and any pizza. Although not a traditional kids spot, my bunch devoured EVERYTHING. Can't wait to go back and navigate the rest of a great menu. Thanks again, Motorino!
The food was excellent but I’m here to write about the excellent service of the server Juan - he literally ran to get our food when he saw we had multiple kids. So helpful and caring and just excellent all around. Promote this man! It’s so rare to find someone working this hard and he definitely needs to be acknowledged for his excellence.
"This pizzeria truly delivers! Fresh ingredients, generous toppings, and a crust that's cooked to perfection. We'll be back for sure!"
Lunch special with a bowl of salad and any pizza is a killer! This is probably the only place in town I really enjoy a simple mixed green salad, as its delicious.. along with Del Popolo pizza, I'm in heaven :) Thanks guys, keep up the good work!!
found this spot close to our Airbnb! confusion in the kitchen caused them to send out our pizza prior to our salad which wasnt a big deal to us. they apologized profusely and made up for it with complimentary salami and tiramisu! pizza was lovely and the tiramisu is a must! great staff!
I love this place so much! The pizza is simply perfect. Great atmosphere and attentive service.
Motorino didn't get the hype of other pizzerias in the 'hood, but use every bit as good, and maybe better than any of them. Terrific pizzas, with more options than most of the area places that only offer the usual combinations. Terrific place with lots of atmosphere. Terrific staff with lots of (but not too much) personality.
Had a great meal last night, at this nicely decorated space. I don't think it's "world class" pizza, or even one of the best in NYC as some reviewers have suggested, but it's certainly good - as is the Kale Caesar Salad which was excellent. I also noted that a couple of reviewers mentioned Juan, who is a young Colombian, who also provided our table with exceptional (polite, efficient and prompt) service. Definitely worth a visit.
Came for lunch with 2 friends and were immediately seated. Very friendly staff made us feel like old friends come back for a visit...even though it was our first time. Pizzas were listed by white sauce and red sauce, which was great because we opted to try something different. Had an incredible sausage, fennel, goat cheese pie with white sauce. Made fresh, fresh ingredients, fresh herbs. The Best!
Came there for lunch. Highly recommend their $17 lunch special which includes a crunchy and refreshing salad + choice of 12” pizza. Outdoor was seating was nice, only downside is you can smell vape or weed from smokers next to the outdoor seating.
We were in here for my wife birthday. Pedro and Mario made us feel so good. The food delicious as usual. Thanks so much guys.
I choked on the 'choke and it was totally worth it because the server provided emotional support after the fire fighter gave me CPR if you know what I mean.
I came into Motorino with high hopes, and those high hopes were exceeded. The friendly service and the great atmosphere added to the already great experience. Our pizza was gorgeous, and even more enjoyable to eat. The toppings were perfectly distributed and the sauce, although light, added the perfect amount of flavor. The crust was perfectly done, with a slight crunch with an amazingly soft and light inside.
Always amazing salads and pizza. Fennel salad was awesome. Thank you also for accommodating a rather large group tonight—and an hour before closing! They took great care of us ❤️
Motorino is my favorite pizza place in NYC, and that's saying a lot. This location is great in winter if you sit away from the door - the oven heats the whole place up nicely. The pizza crust is just the right texture, and never soggy like some other Napolitano style places. The ingredients are flavorful, and fresh. You know they're only using the good stuff. I've had the pizza delivered and it isn't the same. You want it fresh out of the oven in a shape that might not fit in a box. You'll enjoy it more that way for sure.
Ordered delivery. Got pizza and asked to add prosciutto. Not only is the add ons at a fair price of $4, but they put so much prosciutto. thank you guys so much. Also got the Caesar and it was fabulous. Right now they are doing a promotion on UberEats. Totally recommend it.
Delicious!! Unfortunately I ate everything before thinking to take a photo. Great food; friendly service. We were a group of eight, which seemed like no hassle at all. Highly recommended if you're in the area, and definitely worth making the trip if you're not! We reserved our table (not sure if that's required but probably worth doing to be safe)
The 'personal' pizzas actually quite big! And quality you can taste! Big fan! Service was pretty slow and not very friendly... even though it wasn't busy on the Thursday night when we came. Would definitely come back if I'm in the are and want some pizza!
The Margherita pie is excellent. I also love their chopped salad. I just tried their meatballs as a side dish the last Saturday night and they were delicious. I've been here many times and it is always very good. I really love this place and highly recommend it!!!
Hands down my favorite spot, accidentally found it about 2 years ago and even after I moved to florida, soon as I’m back in town it’s a must for a good grab. Also, S/O to Joshua, after we waited a while without being taken care of, he apologized & added an extra order. But even before that, from the moment we got there he was extremely sweet!
Best Italian pizza in Brooklyn, best when enjoyed fresh at the restaurant! 3rd party delivery services not recommended, as the pizza may arrive cold, dry, and lose its unique flavor!
Motorino Pizzeria Napoletana serves authentic Neapolitan pizzas with perfectly blistered crusts, fresh toppings, and a cozy atmosphere that makes every visit feel like a slice of Italy.
Very nice hidden spot! We had a delicious dinner on a Friday. One thing I would suggest is slightly more welcoming host entry- both server and bartender were so busy, look like another person would be of help
My partner hosted her 30th pre-party dinner here for 11 people, and the takeaway from everyone was that this is the perfect place for dinner/a group. We did a food and drink package per person which was very reasonably priced, and was all organized before the event which allowed everything to run seamlessly. Manny was our amazing server, but every single staff member stood out and put so much effort into ensuring a great experience. The food was delicious and served in perfect timing. They were generous enough to send us away with takeout pizzas when we weren’t able to finish the menu arranged for us, an additional notable point was that our glasses were never empty which can sometimes be the case when opting for a drink package. 12 out of 10 is my final review. We will be back for group and individual events.
Indulge in a hearty, crispy pizza while enjoying a stunning view. This delightful meal, perfect for a warm day, offers a fantastic atmosphere that makes it a must-visit. The combination of the scenery and delicious food is truly satisfying.
We stopped by on Monday and had such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious — everything came out fresh, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. But what really made the night stand out was our bartender, Sebastian. Sebastian was phenomenal from start to finish. The drinks were amazing — perfectly balanced, creative, and clearly made with care. Beyond that, he was such a great guy to talk to. Friendly, personable, and genuinely engaging, he made us feel completely welcome and taken care of the entire time. Between the great food and Sebastian’s outstanding service, it turned into a fantastic night. We’ll definitely be back!
Pizza is fantastic and on top of that the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, even helped with tips for places to see in Brooklyn
We had such a wonderful experience at Pizzeria Motorino! The people here are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the food and drinks are absolutely delicious. They went above and beyond by giving my 2-year-old son some pizza dough so he could try making his own pizza. He was over the moon — playing with the dough, shaping it, and still talking about how he “made pizza all by himself.” It was such a beautiful and heartwarming moment for us as a family. Thank you, Motorino, for turning a simple dinner into a special memory we’ll cherish!
Food is so delicious- love love love the vegan sausage pizza. Lunch special is a great deal- you get a personal pizza and salad for $19.50. Highly recommend pairing the pizza with some wine and have a relaxing time .
Oh my goodness that Pugliese Pizza with the white sauce, sausage, and broccoli rabe was phenomenal 🤌🤌🤌 I usually go for a red sauce, but something about that Neapolitan style of buttery creamy cheesy garlicky tastiness and savory sausage just hits right! 🤤 10/10 Good vibes Would come again
Jose is an absolute master of the craft! Pizza Chef Jose transforms simple ingredients into pizza perfection. The dough was light and airy with the perfect crisp, the sauce is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are balanced with precision. Every bite shows their passion for authentic flavors and attention to detail. Whether it's a classic Margherita or a creative specialty pizza, Chef Jose consistently delivers an unforgettable experience. A true artisan in the world of pizza! The tirimisu and coffee heavenly divine. A must-have.
Had a whirlwind songwriting trip to Brooklyn & NYC yesterday. I sought out pizza/Italian last night in Brooklyn & found just what I was looking for with Motorino Brooklyn. So damn good. After the meatball appetizer & fresh baked bread, I had to take most of the Don Dom pizza to go. Well down guys/gals. 👏
So I originally had a takeout here a couple of years ago & it was solid but not great. Last night I ate in instead and it really improved everything (I think the moisture generated in the box makes the dough more spongey). Anyway the pizza is fantastic, really tasty, authentic Neapolitan-style pizza, quickly oven cooked, great dough and such tasty ingredients. It's not cheap but then again nor is any full pizza in NYC They also do a lovely slightly sparkling red wine worth trying
The perfect place for an intimate get together with a date or a small group. The food was delicious and incredibly fresh, service was stellar and the chilled pizza wine was worth every drop. HIGHLY recommended. Pictured is the extra spicy sopressata pie, meatball and kale salad antipasti. 👍👍👍
Literally one of the best pizza I have ever had in the country. Real Italian style pizza place with brick oven. They just have one size of pizza so anybody can get his own pizza. I love it! They have a good choice of red and white pizza as well as good appetizers. Wine list is very good but they just have a couple of beers on tap (no big deal). Service is great and the atmosphere is really good. They bring you salami for free! The place is small but I didn't have to wait to get a table on a Friday night. Only drawback is that I think it is a little bit overpriced. Any pizza is in the $20 range, but as I sai it's literally one of the best ones. You should try!
Service is great - pizza was so-so. i ordered the brussel sprouts pizza which was kind of bland and the crust was not crunchy and salty enough. But the waiter was very kind and gave me my wine for free when he found out i didn’t enjoy the pizza.
Delicious food, had the baby kale Ceasar salad and margharita pizza. All was delicious, my 3yr old ate it. My only negative was the pie was so small. We had to buy 2. But still worth the money and trip!
Great tasting pizza, sopressata was delicious. Their homemade tiramisu was good not the best though. Their sparkling red wine was also quite good. Service came quick although there was no reason to make reservations nor reservation notes since it seems like they don't bother checking. They don't take Amex, they do not advertise that they don't take amex so be aware of that. Overall I don't know if 2 pies and dessert was worth $100
This is a really solid pizza joint. They serve up really delicious pies, with a thin crust, slightly chewy and with a little sourdough tang. Everything they serve is simple and well made. I just wish they had more vegetarian offerings on the menu.
It's not fancy, but pizza is very good, service very friendly and attentive and best of all it was quiet. Doesn't get 5 stars because it's not a 5 start place. I would gladly go back if I lived in Brooklyn.
The Brussel sprout pizza was really good- I loved the crust and and how chewy it was. The buffalo mozzarella on the pizza was delicious. The tiramisù on the other hand, was the worst I've EVER had! And as an Italian, I've had my fair share. It didn't taste like tiramisù...it tasted as if they used some type cheap whipcream instead of mascarpone.
The pizza was really solid, I enjoyed it. The outdoor space was really nice.
I understand that not everyone is passionate about pizza, but I have to say I really enjoyed their appetizers in the past. Lately, though, I've noticed some changes that have been disappointing. The Caesar salad, which I used to consider the best I've ever had, has become small and soggy—it's hard to believe there are more croutons than kale now. As for the wings, I used to crave them from this place, but they seem to have lost their flavor, and they’re missing the onions and sauce that made them special. And the last time I ordered the artichoke, it just didn't live up to what I remember. I truly hope the owner sees this feedback and considers making some improvements. I believe in the potential of this place and would love to see it return to its former glory.
Pizza was ok. Had a red sauce prosciutto pizza. What’s really the best thing about this place is their outdoor seating during the the summer and their $10 aperol spritz drinks when the weather is nice. They have tons of umbrellas for shade and the trees that they have next to the place are growing in nicely that will eventually be great for more cover in the future.
Located close to the East river waterfront, this place is around 5-7 mins walk from the Marcy Ave MTA station. The restaurant has an old ambiance which I believe should be improved upon apart from the fact that they seemed understaffed to me, luckily there wasn't much of a crowd for dinner. These people make Neapolitan style brick oven pizza, the server was pretty friendly enough with his recommendation and we went for Dom Dom pizza with mushrooms as topping. The pizza was basically tomato sauce, fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese, basil leaves and olive oil sprinkled on top from what I can recollect. The pizza base and crust were soft while the tomato sauce felt a bit on the tangy side. The mushrooms were a good choice for topping while adding more to the taste! For dessert, we had tiramisu. The dessert was tasty but would have been even better had they served it really fresh! Overall a good option in the area which boasts a lot of pizzerias, but definitely needs some work on ambiance to up their game in the competitive times!
Motorino is one of the only spots in proximity that offers Mozzarella di Bufala, and after so many weeks of vegan cheeses, it was that type of lactose friendly pizza friday that we were after. We ordered an on-menu pie that featured di Bufala, had them hold back on the other cheeses, and added the meatball appetizer and artichokes to round out the meal. Still on the summer spritz menu, we drank Elderflower cocktails before the food arrived. Meatballs with bread were fantastic, lots of sauce to be mopped up. So were the oven roasted artichokes: lemon and evoo drenched and cooked long enough that it was easy to scrape the artichoke from the leaves. Ultimately it was the pizza that gave any sense of a letdown at this meal. A bit too wet, a bit too floppy, something has to change in the ratio of dough and sauce to get this pie to the next level. Fork and knife required, lots of moisture - not grease - left on the plate after it was all gone. Perhaps just back in the oven a bit longer next time? I think we'll ask for well done when we return.
The food was good; I enjoyed that they had vegan options. Good music choice, but the wait was long and it seems that the place is understaffed. There was only one host/waiter/bartender that seemed burned out and was not attentive. Also, there is a rat problem in the outdoor area. Had to move inside to avoid them.
This place is a nice place to go sit outside and have a leisurely afternoon pizza. They serve Neapolitan-style pizza as well as some good side dishes and drinks. The pizza is tasty, but it doesn't really replicate good Neapolitan pizza. The crust here is crispier and less fluffy and chewy than the real thing. What you are left with is pizza without a real identity. It's not New York pizza and it isn't outstanding Neapolitan pizza. There are so many places in NYC to get great pizza and I find it hard to justify coming here just for the pizza alone. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are really nice and accommodating. The salads and sides add a lot to the meal and overall Motorino is an ok option you just want to try some non-New York style pizza in NYC, or if you really value outdoor seating while eating your pizza.
Pizza and service were just ok in my opinion. They only have 12 inch pizzas. They have a lunch special before 4pm which includes a salad and pizza for $17, this is per person and you're not able to share 1 pizza. The pizza was cooked well, a bit on the thin side, the meatball topping seemed a bit cold. I had a meatball and margherita pizza. The pizzas tasted ok but wasn't super impressed by it, there's better pizza in the area. This place is ok for a quick bite.
Ordered 3 pies for delivery, Don Dom Pizza + Del Popolo Pizza + Amatriciana Pizza. At Motorino, the style is classic Neapolitan style pizzas which I love. Ingredients tasted fresh. Not the worst, but can't say the best I've had in Brooklyn either. What can I say, we live in New York and the competition is tough!!
Pizza just wasn’t that enjoyable. The tomato should pop and only be complimented by the rustic char from the dough. The cheese isn’t high quality regardless of any claim.
I think this place is a little overrated. Pizza was average although v fresh and quickly done. My cheese wasn't melted enough for me and it was burnt in too many places. Staff friendly enough. Also at $30 it was probably one of the most expensive pizza for one I am ever likely to have. ($6 for corn-on-the-cobb????) Brooklyn yes for pizza.. Possibly other places
Food was decent and fairly priced however service was genuinely awful, didn't get most of what we asked for. Multiple servers coming out asking what we were waiting on. Pizza was luke warm, had obviously been sitting there. Not a busy night either so no excuse. Don't waste your time.
Cool vibe but way too expensive for averagely prepared and presented foods. It was a comedy of errors getting exactly what I ordered. Cool vibe but I would only go for drinks but be prepared to spend a pretty penny. Try not to be seated downstairs because the vibe is upstairs in the back room.
Honestly? I expected way more from this place. The pizza was just… average. Nothing special about it—bland crust, forgettable toppings, zero character. Not terrible, but definitely not worth coming back for.
Walked in. Place was empty. 2 ppl came in. Sat at bar in their FaceTime calls. Asked politely how long they were going to have their loud tinny conversations. Server/bartender told us we could leave if we didn’t like it. Sad we had a $150 order being placed and we were asked to leave because we don’t want to listen to a phone call.
I live in Williamsburg, Motorino has been one of my go to places when I order pizza and sometimes dine there. Unfortunately, today I had a very bad experience and I'm going to share it because it's not ok to be served like that. The place was freezing cold to start, like when you are in the cold isles in the supermarket. We were two ladies wanting to eat a pizza and a salad, it was enough food for us. They offer the Lunch prix fixe which consists in a salad and a pizza for $17.50. So we ordered that and the waiter said it was not possible to order that for two people, that at least we had to order an appetizer, we had order another salad in order to eat there. (I wonder if I ordered it over the phone if it would make a difference how many people were eating it). We also ordered 2 lemonades and I asked them to be made with sparkling water instead of flat. The waiter gave me a strange look so I offered to pay separately for a bottle of sparkling water in order to make the lemonades with bubbles. He agreed, but 2 minutes later he told us they didn't have lime juice to make it. We could see the limes placed on top of the bar from our table. The waiter didn't come back to our table, he sent the waitress to continue serving us. I asked her for some lemon and she brought a few slices. As far as I know you make lemonades with lemons. By the way the place was empty, there was 1 person at the bar and one other table near the kitchen. The rest, inside and outside, was empty. We had to wait 30 min for the pizza. We were already freezing so I asked for them to put everything to go, and left to have lunch at home, where I made myself a lemonade and tossed half of the salads because it was too much food. I left 10% of the total in tips, I hope they got the message. I should’ve left according to the service, $0.-
I was not going to write a review because is such a sensitive topic, in addition to felling I’ll from eating this pizza. My spouse and I wanted brick oven pizza upon entering the host sat us and returned with the menu’s with such a dismissive energy I Acknowledge and was completely ignored found it to be rude. We tried to get her attention to order being that she was interacting with other guests and she completely ignored us the bartender ended up coming to the table and took our order. I observed the behavior and noticed we were the only guest of ethnic background. But the other guest were not, In addition other servers were coming to us to over compensate the rude dismissive obviously discriminating behavior from that one particular individual. I have never thought to be treated this way in my own home of Brooklyn. Pizza was not as well as I expected and got sick from it.. never again!.
Servers are very unprofessional, bad customer service. We traveled from Germany and wanted have some good pizza there. Waited more than 30 mins and place was almost empty . We waited for water very long time noone come to check. Servers are seems like they dont know what they doing, our waiter wasn’t speak English. We have hard time for understanding.Employees looks like all lifeless. Very bad vibe . Horrible experience. Never come back this restaurant.
Ordered meatball pizza online. Driver was nice enough to deliver to a different address than I posted (my mistake) but the pizza itself was inedible. I haven't eaten all day, I'm starving, and I STILL cannot eat this. Disgusting. Rancid. Im writing this as my lovely girlfriend heats up a pizza. What a disappointment.
I've always ordered from Motorino for pizza. We've ordered at least 5 times already from them. Today, I called and I got put on hold for 5mins and the person on the phone told me that I am 3 miles away from their restaurant and they cannot deliver to me. He was extremely rude when I asked him what has changed last the past 5-10 times I've ordered delivery? He couldn't answer me and hung up. I will never order from them again.
This restaurant is very popular, but i was shocked to see 2 cockroaches roaming around. One was next to the table and the other was on the wall. That was really disgusting. (See picture). The management should pay more attention to the cleanliness of the restaurant. The service, on the other hand, was good. The pizza is tasty.
