The best of the best place where every Tuesday it is amazing joining for "Aperitivo Tuesdays" at 6:00 pm. A real Italian Aperitivo in New York City. real Italian bites of food, live music, and Aperol Spritz. Incredible.

Love this spot so much. There are different pop ups that happen here. Currently an Amalfi themed activation which is fun ! I enjoyed the drinks while taking in incredible views of Manhattan

A beautiful rooftop bar with lovely decorations. Seemed a bit high class and prestigious which is why we left pretty quick. No place to really relax as it was really full but I imagine it a fun time with a big group!

Best customer service experience I've ever had at a bar as a normal customer. This place has some of the best COVID measures (masks for all employees, the workers call elevators for you, you are escorted to your seat, etc.) However, the overall customer service was delightful. Friendly waitresses and servers, but also a manager who was a gem to speak with and checked in on each table. Make sure to make a reservation. The scenery & atmosphere is gorgeous. Due to Cuomo's law, we ordered the fries (tasty). The wild berry is refreshing like a mojito, but with vodka. Our 2nd round of drinks were well-vodkas and they were STRONG -- but when you're paying these prices, you appreciate it.

I visited in Jan 2023 and really enjoyed my experience. The flower tunnel was pretty and a lot people were waiting to take pictures. The cocktails were really tasty and I was surprised by how good the empanadas and desserts were. I had another appetizer but don’t remember what it was, I do remember likening it though.

Super cute place on top of the hotel we stayed at!! Prices not terrible for a rooftop and the snacks were soooo good! Kind wait staff as well.

The food wasn't that great but presentation was beautiful and the atmosphere was great but it's small on the penthouse and it shouldn't have booked so many people up there because it rained and we all had to go inside and it was so crowded. Service was amazing very friendly staff.

The space is very well divided and they have two bars! I recommend the glass side of the bar as they have another passage leading to another smaller area with great views! The cocktails were great and the service was quick.

We ended up hitting PHD rooftop on the hottest night in July at 2am. Music was fantastic and we enjoyed our time there. We loved the photobooth as well. Views were nice but we stayed indoors to cool off in AC. Came back in winters for holiday and Birthday party..was amazing.

Gorgeous rooftop, drinks and food are on the expensive side ($18 for a cocktail). Good vibes, seems like most of the crowd come from midtown offices after work. So expect a lot of people in suits. They decorated the terrace with flowers all around (entrance, bar and hallway). They also have a DJ so the place is pretty happy. As for the menu, the fries were excellent. Enjoy your visit.

Excellent service! Went to this place for a private event and had a great time. The food was delicious, especially the mini burgers. There are 2 terraces, from where you can have a nice view and have a more relaxing conversation. What sets this place appart in my opinion is the service. The waitresses were very kind and helpful. Overal I'd be happy to revisit this place, hopefully in the summer to enjoy the terraces a bit longer.

Went for my Cousin’s birthday and we had a great time. The decor of the place is really nice. The little flower garden is a really nice touch and great place for photos. The outside have a good view of the city as well. Staff was really nice and friendly. Food and drinks came quick. Everything was great here. Would definitely return again if I’m planning on being in the Manhattan anytime soon.

Ambiance and flavor on the food items made it worth the visit. The only thing I would change is the recipe on the drinks. I expect cute bar drinks to be sweet, but they were extra sweet. Wish the photo area was not also used as a busy connecting corridor to half of the room. Still, everyone workers and customers alike were accommodating.

You're welcomed to this rooftop by an array of well manicured foral arrangements, blooming high above the midtown urban landscape. Even through the concrete, PHD grows above the rest. Jason, who was peachy, arranged a lush cocktail, the Orchard old Fashioned, featuring notes of peach as well. The Shrimp tempura rolls were a small plate, delicious, and flavorful. the Sriracha aioli brought these shrimps to life.

Really cool rooftop bar in midtown. All of the drinks we tried including the cucumber smash and the mega mule were very good. We ordered and tried every food item on the menu. Everything was delicious, especially the tuna poke chips and the chicken and biscuits. The staff were all very accommodating and attentive. Even though the place was packed, we never waited long to receive food, drinks, or assistance.

Hit this roof top bar after a show and it was great. The drinks were well made and the food.....delicious.

Beautiful place with lovely themes. Would recommend if you want to catch up with friends after work, girls night out or date night. Definitely dress up cause there are so many cute spots to take pictures. The Food is ok and some drinks are really watered down which is a shame. The waitresses are very polite and do their best to bring your order promptly but sometimes it gets busy so you do have to just ask them to check on your order.

Beautiful hidden gem in midtown. Reservations is a must. I had a wonderful experience, the staff was so friendly, great service and cleanness. Staff was very tentative. We had the shrimp tacos and nacho chips- both delicious and very tasteful. The venue was nicely decorated and seating arrangements were very comfortable. Highly recommended this rooftop lounge. Music was just at the right volume, where you can actually hear someone talking but could also enjoy the music. I’m a local, and will definitely will be back. I was there on a Friday night. Just one for the books. Thank you for your hospitality. It was so nice 👍

I recently celebrated my engagement at The Rooftop PhD at Dream Hotel and had a great experience overall! While there was a small miscommunication initially regarding a charge for checked bags, the manager, Chris, went above and beyond to make it right. He promptly issued a refund and even gave me his business card in case the transaction didn’t reflect in the next few day, super professional and reassuring. We were curious about their popular tunnel feature, and although it was currently taken down, we were informed it would be back in about two weeks. Definitely gives us a reason to return! Michu was incredibly hospitable, she personally invited us back and even offered the first round of drinks on the house next time. Since we were celebrating, I asked if we could do shots instead, and she happily treated my guests and me to a celebratory round. That gesture alone made our night feel even more special. The drinks were strong and tasty, and while the food was just okay, it didn’t ruin the vibe. We weren’t fans of the calamari (a bit too salty for our taste), and the jerk wings leaned more sweet than spicy. But again, the good energy and great service made up for it. The music was at a perfect volume, lively but not overwhelming, and it wasn’t too crowded, which made it easy to enjoy ourselves. Even the security team was chill and welcoming. All in all, I’d definitely return. The vibe, the view, and especially the customer service made this a memorable night. Thank you, Michu, Chris and Team!

Came here for a friend’s 21st birthday. Service by our server Kayla was amazing, she was very kind and kept coming by our table to check up on us. She also let us take our time in the beginning to order, since it was our first time there. She even organized a birthday dessert surprise for my friend. Amazing service! Food was mid. This place is unique and beautiful. The hostess was extremely helpful and she made the experience even better.  It was raining but they still have an outdoor seating location that protects you from light rain (not from heavy rain). Food was average and drinks were definitely watered down but the ambiance made everything worth it.  Food and drinks are slightly overpriced, but I think you pay for the excellent view. Overall, I would come back here again.

Don't know about the poor service others mention as I just got my drinks at the bar myself. I only had some imported bottled beer and thought price was reasonable. Wasn't crowded but not empty. This was last week, visiting the smaller space next to the south side patio and thought the area was a bit cozy. Views are definitely the selling points. As the floor is not crazy high, you still have good visibility to the streets. At the same time, taller buildings are all around you, giving you a feeling that you are really a part of Manhattan.

We did not try the food but the drinks were great and the atmosphere was amazing very chill place to vibe with a group. The decor was pretty and the staff were friendly.

A bit delayed but wanted to share the lovely experience I had with my mom during the holiday season. We went here for tapas and drinks before a show. We loved the ambience and the decore, it felt like we were in a bougie holiday dreamscape. The food had gluten free options and accommodations. The only thing I'd say is the service was a little slow, especially because we had to go to a show afterwards, but luckily all was fine.

Okay so AMBIANCE: Super crowded very fast so would definitely recommend getting a reservation and having it for right around when it opens if you want a more chilled out experience. I was there for the daisy tunnel, which was very pretty! Only issue is that tunnel is also what allows waitresses to go from one end of the rooftop to the other so it gets super crowded with people lining up to take pictures and the poor waitstaff trying to get through to do their jobs. Gorgeous views of the city! FOOD: chicken empanadas were delicious, the Mac and cheese balls were great too. Good cocktails. Portion sizes were small, and the food was on the pricier side. You’re paying a premium for the view.

Nice rooftop bar with hip and modern vibes. The lounge is open Wed - Sun, at the time of year we were there, and the outside roof area is typically closed in winter. We enjoyed a few cocktails before heading to be downstairs in our hotel.

Cool place for a drink in NYC. It's not the best views but the decor is pretty and the atmosphere is nice! One thing that bothered me was that the cocktails were pre-prepared, so instead of putting together the ingredients at the moment and having a "fresh" drink, they just poured from some jars, which at the price they charge, is ridiculous. If we're paying over 20-25$ per drink, at lest have the trouble of doing something...

Nice bar in a busy area with a great view of Broadway road, going down to Time Square. The service is young and efficient and the cocktails are very good and not so expensive compared to the NY city standards. On weekends the place is very busy and it is worth booking a place in advance.

Very lovely rooftop bar! The drinks are so good and beautifully made. I got their famous flower pot cake, which was really good too! Was it worth $28? Probably not haha. It tasted good but it was a bit on the smaller side. The only thing about this place is the set up of all the seatings. I wish the seats were facing another way because you end up reluctantly staring at the other guests from how it’s set up (not a lot of privacy).

First time at the PHD terrace dream hotel. I went for a get-together to celebrate my cousins bday. When I got there, I was surprised when I mentioned that to the host she didn't know. However, she was very nice and suggested I take a look around. While waiting for my cousin, who was running late with bday cup cakes. I had a drink, which was the garden party and it was delicious. The bartender she was very nice and curtious. As my cousin and other family and friends arrived, we had a good time conversing. The crispy fish tacos were bland and needed seasoning. The jerk chicken wings and parmesan fries were excellent. Service can be better in bringing utensils and plates by asking if needed, especially if you're with a group of people. Now, upon leaving, we wound up getting stuck in the elevator because I guess security doesn't know the capacity of people that belong in the elevator. Ten people in one small elevator at a 2000 pounds weight limit. The last person who walked in that elevator when the door closed did it in for us. The worst heat in the world and took like a good twenty minutes and the fire department to come get us out. We went up to get some air, and they gave us all free drinks for the mishap. So we all talked and drank and made connections with some people we never interacted with at the rooftop. So I guess things happened for a reason.

It's been a little while since I've been to PHD but here's a recap of past experiences: Last summer I got to PHD Terrace twice, and the two experiences were different at face value but similar in overall takeaways. The first time It was a hot weeknight, and I spent my time outside by the bar. The place was mobbed and it was difficult to get a drink. Drinks were good. Bartenders weren't super friendly but they were swamped so it was understandable. I had a reservation and two managers were quick to open up a table for us; they were incredibly accommodating, I forget their names but both well groomed guys no older than 30. Olenka was our server and she was an absolute delight. She was super sweet, friendly, and genuinely interested in making a positive impact on our experience. We ate the sliders, mac and cheese balls and truffle fries; sliders and fries were the better choices. The second time it was a rainy night, so the entire outdoor portion was closed. A big section inside was reserved for a private party, so the space available was limited. Nonetheless I spent time at the bar and at a table. This time the bar service was attentive and accommodating, whereas the dining service was more forgettable. This time I ate sliders (awesome again), truffle fries (awesome again), and the PHD Catch (I forget the name but it's a medley of fried seafood, also really tasty). PHD Terrace is a fun spot during the summer. If you catch it on a good night where it's not super hot or super crowded, you'll really enjoy it. Drinks aren't cheap but they're different than most drinks you're privy to in NYC. Food is solid upscale bar food and reasonably priced.

We went there with our friends in November before thanksgiving. We were early and were there at the opening. They check ID before you go up to the bar. The ambience is amazing and the service was great. We had drinks and apps. The calamari was good. The view from terrace is beautiful.

The place is amazing and the drinks and food was tasty. And the pictures we took there were to die for. The waiters were very warm but the service was slow and a tad disorganized (we had to go 'hunt down' the waiters at a point) and there was a lot of delay with getting a table even with a reservation despite many empty tables. However, it was a great experience overall. I will pay them another visit and will definitely recommend it to others.

A mission to get in . To begin with any large bags need to be check in , coats are optional for a $5 fee bags are complimentary. Then small bag check , then take an elevator to the last floor then take stairs up and finally you arrive . The atmosphere is cute for a cute catch a drink and go . We didn’t try the food since all they offered is appetizers. The sitting arrangements makes it hard for a group to be around eachother and socialize. The drinks were good and worth the amount . Each drinks various from $18-$22 . The Venue has 2 seating options. Our waitress was nice and friendly.

A nicely decorated rooftop on 16th floor with views of Times Square. The vibe is amazing and highly recommend to visit during Summer’s. Went during sister’s birthday and the drinks we ordered were okay. Food was good though. Just a bit pricey but that’s a given considering the location. They have a some dance area on the other side of seating too.

Very nice view, my friend booked a table. The prices are pretty reasonable for it being such an upscale place. I ordered the calamari which was okay. The drinks I ordered were alright, could be a little stronger. I ordered 3 rounds and wasn’t feeling anything- but the skinny margarita was great (not on the menu but they make it). I wasn’t a big fan of the house old fashion (too sweet). They said they didn’t have a lychee martini but could make something very similar and that was good. My friends ordered the sliders, quesadilla and fries- they really enjoyed their food. Seating was comfortable and bathrooms were clean. Service was great. The waitress came around often to check on us.

Great rooftop bar in midtown. There are three main areas, one by the entrance and others after crossing a flowery hallway. There is a small area which is another level from the main bar and gives an even better rooftop view. Overall, Views are nice and the place has an amazing vibe with great service. The only downside we felt was limited food options but it’s a great place for a large group to get drinks together.

Only went for the drinks so I cannot comment on the food but my Mojito was pretty good, just felt like it was pretty dead for a Friday night at 11pm…I’d say it’s nice if you wanna chat with friends for a more calm vibe

If you just got your age right for your first drink + money is not an issue (min 50$ entrance fee) - this is a place to go. Loud, crowded, semi-naked. However, if you are looking for a place to sit down and enjoy a cocktail and a bite, you are going to be disappointed. Go here to drink and dance. I mean, do it a lot.

Reason: Went twice - Date night as F/F couple and friend night Pros: Pretty decorations Great Instagram/photo opportunities Beautiful view Respectful staff Good mixed drinks Cons: Drinks are way overpriced Crowd seemed unwelcoming Music was not exciting Female bathrooms EXTREMELY small/dark/unclean - can barely move and even fix your makeup(if needed) Overall: It was okay. Nothing more than that. I would go back again for the view but I wouldn't go here for an exciting night out.

Ok, the place was decent they dont have whole lot of tables. But they gave us a table facing people, idk why maybe only thats available. Facing bunch of irritating women. But if you get a table with views thats amazing. The sunflower place is good for pictures. Food was good and so are the drinks. Only 3 stars were given coz i didnt get good views but faced irritating people. Constantly staring at us.

If you go because of your high expectations on their instagram page you’ll be disappointed. Don’t get me wrong the service was 10/10. But they don’t have actual dining tables and the food are basically appetizers for the price of meals. We had a group of 5 and all the food we ordered was basically on this board. That was our whole group’s food on the board and the fries were just because we ordered an extra side. The drinks i’d give it 8/10. Perfect place if it’s to hangout but not if you actually want to Dine in. Also, no parking. Unless you want to pay at a parking garage then you would have to park multiple blocks away.

The theme is very cute here! It was decorated with cherries for summer on a rooftop with great golden hour sun and nice city views. The lite bites were tasty (we loved the Mac & cheese balls!!! We wish the chicken bites had more than 1 dipping sauce, but they were still good). The spicy cherry Paloma was delicious!! The cherry espresso martini tasted a bit like medicine. Our waitress was so nice and helpful, but the bus boys were very rude - they kept trying to rush us and clear our table even though it was not busy, it was half empty, so it’s not like they needed to clear our table. Also, we genuinely felt very judged for taking photos, even though we were just at our table in the corner. One bus boy kept giving us nasty looks, which I’ve never experienced at a city rooftop bar that is designed for photo taking. The same bus boy made me move my bag off a tiny side table (RIGHT next to my seat) so he could give it to a larger party, but when I looked on the other side of the group, I saw an empty side table that he could have grabbed instead. I would definitely would return to check out the next theme & get another Paloma! But now I know how some staff is about photos and service. Just be warned, the cherry tunnel is used to get to seats and to take pictures there, you might block staff, so you have to snap quickly when they’re not walking around. It’s not a side area that you can pose for a ton of pictures to avoid getting in the way, which feels a little silly for a place that heavily advertises all the photo opportunities.

I had an amazing experience with a bartender who informed us she only works there for special events. She made incredible drinks and was very friendly. The food was OK. Tried burgers and chicken w a peanut sauce. One thing that would cause me to not return is the rooftop only had two fans. It was extremely hot. The decor however is beautiful.

My friend and I was really looking forward to enjoying cocktails here to toast to the end of our city break but we were disappointed. The venue has a beautiful flower tunnel but other than that is pretty basic. After ordering our drinks we were told that the bartender wasn’t sure how to make what we ordered and so asked for someone else to do it. The drinks tasted okay but we weren’t blown away by them. When receiving the bill, the person serving us had already selected the amount that we should tip. Surely that is not right! The views from the terrace are nice but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.

Literally the worst place ever. The security are the rudest people. I literally heard them talking about how much they hate their job. This one Latina girl was threatening to fight guests. And this other dude with dreads was actually fighting guests. These people are absolutely horrible. Then there was this bigger one who just kept yelling the same thing back to back as if he was doing anything when they oversold tickets to this venue, forcing us onto a Cold empty rooftop that no one wanted to be on. This place sucked I wish I could have my night back. You guys can keep the money to pay for better employees those people ruined everyone’s night and they will be the reason this place goes out of business.

Watch out with the happy hour: very misleading! We ordered, specifically referring to the happy hour, two cocktails, afterward it was explained that the happy hour drinks are only drinks of one liquor like vodka and one soda. Would be a lot better to say that beforehand. Can however really recommend the beef sliders, extremely tasty mini-burgers

Booked a resy for the Dream in Cherries experience a couple of weeks ago, only to show up today to find out the rooftop is under renovation. They have time to post photos on their socials but can’t post that the rooftop is closed and only the indoor experience is available? Or calling people who specifically booked the Cherry experience through the webpage and letting them know? Such a shame because it looked beautiful and we were looking forward to it.

Discriminatory Treatment Ruined What Should Have Been a Celebration I wish I could give zero stars. I attended PhD with my co-residents to celebrate a birthday—we're dentists working at a local hospital, and we were looking forward to a fun night out after long shifts. The evening took a disturbing turn when several of us returned from the bathroom. A member of our party, who had just received shots from our bottle service girl, handed me one. Immediately, another bottle girl aggressively snatched the shot out of my hand, nearly spilling it everywhere, and accused me of trying to "get free stuff." I was completely confused. The birthday girl and host of our party turned around and, seeing what happened, offered me the shot that had just been taken from me. Rather than apologizing, the bottle girl then proceeded to interrogate the host, asking whether I was actually part of the party; despite having just witnessed the host hand me the drink herself. The bottle girl asked multiple times for "confirmation" that I belonged with the group, essentially accusing me of being a beggar for alcohol. It became painfully clear that I was being discriminated against. While she may have apologized to the host, I received no apology myself. I felt humiliated and uncomfortable for the remainder of the night. Not wanting to ruin the celebration, I left early. It's deeply disappointing that this establishment allows its staff to treat paying customers with such blatant discrimination and disrespect. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend PhD to anyone—especially those who might not "look the part" to their staff.

The worst service that we could have during new year’s eve. SUPER expensive tickets to be standing more than 1h outside, with negative temperature, loosing more than 1h of open bar that we’ve paid for. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANY EVENT, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE CAPACITY TO ORGANIZE ANYTHING

Non-starter. We left. Baruch Hashem. We were informed at the door that a $150+ bar spend commitment was required just to enter or secure a reservation. This was not clearly disclosed in advance and does not align with the experience at their Midtown location (the one with the floral wall designs). Transparency matters. If there is a mandatory minimum, it should be communicated upfront so guests can make an informed decision before dealing with congestion pricing and difficult parking. Baruch Hashem, we had the option to simply leave — and we voted with our pocketbook. Plan accordingly.

Correction...we stayed at the hotel...ate at the PHD Terrace. Food was great and service and atmosphere as well. The hotel portion...Checkin in was early which was nice. The room... We had a king bronze listed as having a "city view" we'll you will see in the pic I share. Now I am from NY we just stayed the night after seeing a show. We expected the rooms the be small... But this is bad. Dated is an understatement. The bed sinks in towards the middle. Closet light won't turn off. We paid over $400 for this room over 2 months ago. Today's prices were half the price. Plus side the roof top bar was decent and the nachos were delish!
