I’m almost sure I had already written a review for Zaytinya because I truly love this place, but I couldn’t find it — so here I go again. This time I visited for lunch (for a friend’s birthday), and the previous time I came for dinner (my anniversary). Both experiences were absolutely incredible. The food has a truly authentic Turkish and Mediterranean flavor, and I genuinely love their menu. The Adana Kebab is outstanding — perfectly seasoned, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. Portions feel just right, prices are fair, and everything tastes high quality. The service is also a huge part of what makes this place special: the attention is professional, the staff is kind and attentive, and they’re very thoughtful with every detail. It feels luxurious without being stiff — the ambiance is relaxed and welcoming, which I really appreciate. Even after finishing our lunch, we ended up coming back later for a drink at the bar, simply because we enjoy the space so much. Highly recommended.
We went here for a birthday dinner for one of my best friends and the atmosphere was amazing. A bit tough to get reservations but definitely worth it for the vibes and food. My favorite bites of the night were the Chicken Muhamarra, Kebab Platter and Celebration Rice. Just as a heads up, only items with chicken are halal!
Can’t thank the team at Zaytinya enough for such a wonderful birthday dinner experience! I emailed with the team literally the day before my event, and they pulled together a customized menu and seating for 14 people in the center of the restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! Perfect spot for a group event or any dinner date.✨
I walked in super late just before closing and had the good fortune of meeting Gunchin at the bar who crafts amazing delicious cocktails. I mean I really should have known what I was in for when I saw that it was a Jose Andres restaurant but still I was impressed with the warm service right from the hostess at the entrance to the bar where I was told was the only open seats since I got there so close to closing. That's the wonderful thing about restaurants attached to hotels as much flack as they tend to get the kitchen never really closes down does it. I mean the bonafide nice hotels not the regular mediocre ones. This restaurant is attached to the Ritz Carlton. Anyways I digress. Gunchin at the bar was stellar. Please give him a raise management. No he didn't ask me to say this. Didn't ask for a review. Just was being him doing his job. I think it says a lot when you can tell throughout the establishment everyone understands their assignment which is to deliver service. He totally disarmed me with his friendliness and apologizing for me waiting for just a couple of minutes before I was attended to. I had their renowned Magic Carpet drink and its not at all overrated try it for yourself if you go and had a nicely prepared medium well burger and fries as a late night meal. Because it's New York City and I can hahah. There are some restaurants that are more than just a meal but they are an experience. And Jose Andres has found the magic touch that even their staff are committed to this mission of giving every patron a good experience. Ok I'm typing too much here. All you need to know is Zaytinya is an amazing Mediterranean/Turkish/Lebanese fusion restaurant with great tasting, well seasoned food and impeccable service to boot. I highly recommend. 5 stars all around. It's either I don't get out much or I have in silent consternation watched the decline of decent dining experiences in the city but whatever it was this experience left me wanting to return and return I will.
Hit up Zaytinya for an earlier dinner on a Monday and the place was great. Started with the lamb hummus and another dip then on to the scallops and octopus and barely had room for the lamb burger but was still able to devour it because it was just that good. The service and ambiance were perfect as well. Would definitely go back to try other things.
Must visit if you’re a fan of Mediterranean cuisine. Thoroughly enjoyed my birthday dinner here. I was committed to trying the NYC location after my DC experience and I was so impressed. Selection : Lamb Baharat, Brussels & Shish Tauk. Everything was delicious. The service went above and beyond— shoutout to Ricardo!Would definitely return.
My experience at Zaytinya was simply divine. Every dish was full of flavor, freshness, and that special touch that makes Mediterranean cuisine unique. In addition, the manager of this Sunday on duty that night was incredibly attentive; her service was exceptional, he was very attentive , and he recommended several dishes all of which were divine. The service is 100% recommended; the staff is professional and very detailed in their table service. Without a doubt, I recommend it 100%. I was so delighted that I would definitely return, especially to celebrate an event, because the atmosphere, food, and service make it a perfect place for a special occasion.
Had such a beautiful and romantic dinner at Zaytinya in the city. The restaurant is absolutely stunning — cozy, aesthetic, and designed with a modern Middle Eastern touch that instantly sets the vibe. It’s warm, intimate, and perfect for a date or a special night out. We went with their Chef’s Experience, which is $80 per person (or $125 with wine pairing) and honestly, it’s so worth it. You get multiple courses — appetizers, salads, sides, entrées, and two desserts. Even though the portions are smaller, the variety and amount of food you get make it more than enough for two people. Plus, you get to try so many dishes you probably wouldn’t think to order individually. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. The spreads, salads, shrimp, falafel, and hot appetizers were amazing. I also tried a cocktail with za’atar, which was strong, unique, and really delicious. The service was friendly and very attentive, and the whole atmosphere felt elevated but still comfortable. It’s one of those restaurants you walk into and immediately feel relaxed. I would definitely come back to explore more of their menu. Highly recommend for anyone who loves Middle Eastern/Mediterranean flavors or wants a romantic, memorable dinner in the city.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. Went there with some friends and ordered the tasting menu, with an extra order of their lamb chops. We ate so much fresh bread (it kept coming out) with their delicious hummus, that we had to stop ourselves. Notably, this place had the best hummus, brussels sprouts, salad (smoked beet salata), and Greek yogurt I’ve ever had. I never thought I would say that about a salad, but the candied walnuts worked so well with their beets and cheese. By the end of the meal we were stuffed and extremely happy with the food we received. Definitely a great way to celebrate a milestone!
At Zaytinya NYC, I experienced an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance, cocktails, and cuisine were all of the highest caliber. The hummus was particularly delectable, and every dish was a culinary delight. The pricing was reasonable, and the server’s name Ricardo, provided exceptional service. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and consistently attentive to our needs. His warm smile and professionalism were evident throughout our meal. The hostess was also remarkable in creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. Best regards Kerven Phillips
Went there for my birthday. Such a pleasant experience We opted to order A La Carte as you have the option to have the Chef's Experience. We loved the bread that was given warm, puffy and fragrant. Lamb hummus and alumni cheese for aptz were tasty. We shared the steak that was plenty for two, the veggies that accompanied it could have been a bit tastier. For desserts we had the kataifi that wasn't too sweet but balanced. We will definitely go back as drinks too were really good. The restaurant as also a great looking bar.
I visited Zaytinya for brunch, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The menu offered a refreshing take on Eastern Mediterranean flavors, and everything we ordered was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. We started with the hommus, which was incredibly smooth and flavorful—creamy, rich, and served with warm, pillowy pita bread. The octopus Santorini was tender and delicately charred, with a bright, citrusy finish that really stood out as a brunch dish. I loved how balanced it was—light yet satisfying. The cheese pide was a warm, cheesy flatbread that felt like the perfect comfort food, with a crisp crust and melty interior. One of my favorites was the crispy Brussels Afelia—deeply caramelized Brussels sprouts tossed with bold spices and just the right amount of acidity. It added a unique twist to the brunch spread and was bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with elegant décor and a modern Mediterranean feel. It’s a beautiful space for a weekend brunch, whether you’re catching up with friends or just enjoying a slow morning. Service was friendly and attentive—our server took time to explain the dishes and checked in at just the right moments. Overall, Zaytinya delivered a brunch experience that was both elevated and approachable. The food, service, and ambiance all came together perfectly. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a flavorful, upscale brunch in a stylish setting.
We had such a pleasant time at Zaytinya. I was really excited to try their beautiful hummus, and the taste and the texture did not disappoint. The bread basket was surprisingly very satisfying. The bread looked like a cracker but it was in fact tender with the right proportion of crispiness. The octopus was cooked to perfection and we very much enjoyed the puree that it came with. I could go on and on about how much I am so contented with the meal and the coffee! The halloumi may not be to our liking, but well that should not be a reason to take any star out of this review. Will save Zaytinya in our to-go list for a special occasion.
An amazing Mediterranean spot near Flatiron with a beautiful interior, great atmosphere, and excellent service. The food quality was top-notch — everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. The scallop dish, in particular, stood out as the star of the meal. Portions were on the smaller side, so it felt a bit pricey for the amount of food, but the quality definitely made up for it. Perfect place if you’re looking for a refined, delicious meal in a great setting.

Fantastic brunch and perfect service. Brussels sprouts are to die for, just like the hummus and lamb chops. Friendly, attentive and efficient staff. Would love to come again
Excellent food. Beautiful decor. Attentive, friendly service. The fresh warm bread is perfect for dipping and scooping all the wonderful flavors.
Nice place with good service, nice ambiance. and lovely cocktails. Good selection of mezze for both vegetarians and meat lovers. The food quality is good but not exceptional. Service also very good, friendly and polite. Great place to share food but better to under order to start with as the food comes out quickly so you can judge the quantity as you go along.
Gotra say this off the top, every time I have come here, the waiters wildly WILDLY over inflates the number of mezzes each person should order. I being big backed couldn't finish that much let alone most ladies. That being said, their olive oil with pomegranite molasses dip should be made standard at all mediterranean restaurants, willing to pay for it as an option even! Love the cauliflower, baba ghannouge, kibbeh and more. While many dishes are done well, it is very hard to standout in a crowded market like NY with excellent mediterranean restaurants at all tiers. The place is elaborate, love the bar, service at later courses was lacking and slow.

Come here for a light dinner. We find some interesting dishes here and it's pretty good. service is good and decor is modern and neat. It's a nice place to hangout in midtown.
Ambiance great so was the service. However, it is highly over priced for the taste and size of portions which are small even for meze.
nothing special and really not the best service ..Especially, if you stay out door section. Too expensive for what it is.
Staff was nice but service was incredibly slow and food was average at best. The tzatziki was tasteless and the bread for it arrived well before it arrived. The highlight was the shrimp in a lemon…
As a regular patron of Zaytinya in DC, I knew what to expect for quality, service, and atmosphere. This was NOT what Zaytinya delivers. Our reservation was seated for 15 minutes before ANYONE even approached our table. Service was slow, inconsistent, and failed to meet even basic expectations. The food was delicious, as is expected. Our hummus and baba ganoush were decadent. The lamb was tender, the beef impeccably seasoned, and the chicken charred perfectly. At the culmination of the meal, the manager apologized for not meeting service expectations and had 2 desserts delivered to our table. There were issues with their payment system which resulted in our table being charged for the desserts., which we did not even choose. All in all there were multiple failures across their service lines. I cannot recommend this restaurant despite their good food. This is NOT the quality of this restaurant that I have come to know and experience previously.

Second time being here, first experience was good, second was horrendous. I reserved a table for 10 people for my wife’s birthday. They wanted my credit card and notified me they would charge me $35 per person if the guests didn’t show up to which I agreed no questions asked. I asked if I could bring in balloons / candles and they denied me without any further clarification on what they can do. I inquired about bringing a cake and they wanted $5 per person in order for us to bring an outside cake which was also quite frustrating but I agreed to it as well. When we arrived to the restaurant, I arrived at 8:55PM and I was greeted by a woman who had a pretty bad attitude with me. She proceeded to tell me I had to wait until “majority of the party was here” in order to be seated which made no sense to me if you have my credit card on file and are already threatening me with charges. I’m not sure if it was race related but the staff was not accommodating at all. All my guests showed up on time. Our table was barely checked on throughout the entire night and they had the audacity to charge us 20% gratuity for the absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced. Spent $600 here to be treated like that. I will never come back
