Great drinks, staff, and vibes
Food was spot on.....wings rocked.....pretzels were delish.....staff was great.....had a really great time
5 star dive bar! The food here is top top top shelf especially for bar food.
Feels like home. Regular. Awesome all-around.
Great great great place. Been twice already. Highly recommend. Service is great and friendly. Good prices. Highly recommend
The food and drinks are great! Try the tater tots, wings, and mac and cheese.
We were there for the 1st film night. Had some classic dinner and good beers.
Veggie black bean burger is better than expected, as are the fries. Just make sure you get cheese and caramelized onions on the burger
Love this place, chill pub vibe with reallllyyy good bites. Get the fried pickles! Love the happy hour beer and burger special, too!
Food is really good! A good atmosphere and great drinks... really can't ask for much more for a neighborhood haunt
They had good wings, good draft selection and different seating selections. Kinda of cool to sit on a couch and have a few drinks and some food while out and about.
Fantastic bar menu, amazing bartenders very family friendly atmosphere
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Good food and drinks too! One of the barmen, Ed, was lovely and welcoming 😊
Great wings. Awesome bartenders. Good people. Overall, the neighborhood bar everyone needs.
We love to go there!!! My family and I like thue burguers and korean bb wings, delicious, also the people over there are very friendly.
Had an awesome time here on a Saturday night. Burger and wings are fantastic, and I love the staff
Love atmosphere. Staff are great n their wings are most definitely up to par, plus a splash of spice w it.
Bartenders are super nice at this place, really friendly neighborhood bar. They also have some food options.
Juan was Amazing 🙏 food was 🔥🔥🔥 omg the tator tots and Korean wings, mouth watering just thinking about it 🤤 great vibes, come through people 🙌
Excellent neighborhood staple with great food and draft beer! Good vibe, good prices, nice staff.
Best buffalo wings in NYC. Great local place to grab a beer, some wings, and watch the game (whatever the game happens to be)
I can't tell you how good any of the other food options are because I keep going back for the burger and beer special. The smash burger is one of the best in Brooklyn.
The bartender, Brian, was like Chris Angel Mindfreak back there. He was taking orders and making drinks at the speed of light all while conversing with customers and looking good doing it 😉. The food and drink were excellent and I was mesmerized by supermarket sweep playing in the background. Good music and good vibes 5/5 stars.
Had such a fantastic time. Went for karaoke night, had the best time, best drinks, and best company. Such a great crowd, 10/10
Went for the wings. They were as good as we heard. Got the King style fries (which was also great) and the smash burger, which was good but not as amazing as the other items. it was a good night.
Amazing music. Amazing food! I had the sloppy joe and my honey had the Caesar salad. Awesome staff. Loved this place! We'll be back!
I always love being inside this place no matter what time of the day! It feels accommodating and full of oxygen! I was there today, 30 mins before my Sunday Chemistry Lab class at MEC. While my order Southern Wings being cook, I hurriedly do my homework I have forgotten to do last night and couldn't do this morning--(I was in Church!) I also once dropped by there, in the past, after my evening class to chill__and stayed till closing time, savoring my drinks while surfing the net on my phone. It was so relaxing I didn't want it close! Oh well.
Stopped by the crowbar one night after work to meet up with friends. The service was impeccable and the food was great!!! Loved all the new version to the traditional Grilled Cheese/Sloppy Joe!!
Best bar in Crown Heights. Erika is a fantastic bartender — she sets a cozy vibe and serves up any drink you can think of. 💜
Great frozen daiquiri and margaritas, and solid food options too. The tater tots were fantastic last time I was here.
Only had the popcorn chicken but they were delicious and the buffalo dipping sauce was perfect
Good people, good beer, good god I like this bar
After spending the weekend visiting my dad at the hospital I needed to de-stress, plus I had a flight next morning. It was just around corner from where I was staying, wish I had found it sooner. Anyhow, the spicy smash burgerwas either absolutely Devine or I was starving but I'll go with Devine. I paired it with fries that I topped with cheddar and bacon, which let me say was a good helping of crispy bacon and it did not look like the prepackaged kind. Delicious. I was greedy and also had some wings, they were a spicy sweet kind can't remember the name because I had two alcoholic drinks by then that were also great. The one I enjoyed the most was called the Bee something, don't hate me for forgetting the name but it was Earl grey infused gin with honey and lemon and whatever, but it was nice. Let's say I found my way home very well after and I hope to return again in the future but with a date. Only downside I like to see what I'm paying for itemized on my bill, I don't like surprises but overall great experience.
Came here on a calm afternoon with my girlfriend for some beers & a quick lunch. Nice ambiance, great fries, great service!
Came Saturday night around 6:30 and got to enjoy the happy hour deal (ends at 7pm). $5 well drinks, $6 beer and shot, and $6 beers. Had a crowd but definitely not super packed. Stayed for two rounds and enjoy some good conversations with friends
We started getting takeout drinks here during the pandemic. The frozen margaritas will get you sloppy every time. More recently we started getting food here and I wish we'd done it sooner. The chicken tenders are incredible.
I don't write many reviews. Among other reasons, I harbor no delusion that anyone actually cares about my opinion. That being said, I feel so favorably about this bar that I must give credit to excellence where it is due. No matter who takes your orders here, you are sure to be met with a warm welcome and helpful information about what you can get at this establishment. Not only that, but every single bartender bring(s) his/her/their personality to bear on the brand of friendly service he/she/they provide(s). F820 may not have a host of options, they may not have the flashiest decor, they may not have x, y, or z, but what F820 does, it does excellently. This bar has become my 'third space,' so much so in fact that I proposed to my fiancée at this establishment.
Spencer is the best. Very cute, classic man, great bedside manner, great drink etiquette.
Found this place on a quick search and glad we did. Great bar food and cold beer. They will also turn the 2 tv’s to anything you want to watch. On a Sunday they had the Knick’s on. Had the kale Caesar, grilled cheese, wings and fries. All solid bar standards in a warm setting.
This is a great bar to come and hang with friends and make new ones. Food is good, thank you Damian. Drinks are great and the price matches. The Bartender is awesome. They removed a divider which opened up the space. I think it's a lot better now. 😌 especially for watching sports or game nights. Definitely follow thier IG.
Absolutely 💯!... Ive lived in the neighborhood over 8 yrs, and i stopped in for the first time last week. They have a good beer menu!!! The server was very hospitable, friendly and quite knowledgeable of the various beers . Impressive.. Product knowledge is very important! The bar was clean as was the bathroom. Nice size bar and dining area! Koodos to management.. looks like you have a good team! Im looking forward to going back!!!
This place feels like it will be our new local bar. We went last night and met a great bunch of guys at the bar, and the bartender (Jess) was great too. Definitely a local Cheers/McLaren’s vibe. They’ve got some good, cheap beer, and from the food I saw (and smelled), the food menu looked tasty too. Glad we found it!
Ryan is a great bartender. Hospitable, kind, and great conversation. The selection is standard and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend for a low key bite/session.
Love this bar. Trivia on Mondays is the best, karaoke Thursdays are great. Staff are excellent and provide a great place to hang out and have a good time.
Had a great day there Sunday watching football and catching up with friends. Food was delicious! I had the 'Beet Reuben", it is vegan and I loved it! Drinks were good and fairly priced. Waitress was super nice and attentive to our group. Great addition to the neighborhood!
oh my god i just walked in to get my usual late night fries and a beer ... they're closing.. . wow, i'm in shock, what a fantastic family business gone too soon. bittersweet, thank you for everything
Sad to learn that they're closing at the end of 2025 due to landlord issues. It's a great spot with a wonderful staff.
Fun Thursday karaoke, cheap drinks! What more can you ask for?
I come here frequently. Great bar food, signature cocktails or just beer on tap. Entertainment on select days of the week.
Incredible establishment with enthusiastic and vibrant locals. The staff is super kind and attentive. Had a great time <3
Welcome to the gem of the neighborhood, a bar that’s not just a place to drink, but a destination to unwind! With a menu that’s small but oh-so-dependable, every bite is a delightful surprise. The tap selection is a treasure trove of flavors, and trust me, you’ll want to sample them all over time. The atmosphere is as laid-back as a Sunday afternoon, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the company of friends. This bar is destined to become your new favorite hangout! I’ve only tried the smash burgers and wings so far, and let me tell you, they were absolutely scrumptious. The beer selection on tap is equally impressive, offering a variety to suit every taste. Don’t miss out on their daily specials, like the fantastic $18 beer and burger deal that runs until 7 PM. It’s a steal and a reason to visit every day!
love to wind down with my pals at franklin820. had the BLT, a little dry but the service made up for it. dre is the best bartender in the city. really need to know if the corn chowder will ever be available. great neighborhood spot, nonetheless!
Franklin 820 is one of the best bars in the neighborhood. The food, the drinks, the service and the atmosphere were fantastic. 10/10 would recommend! Ask for Dre he was our bartender.
Rachel is my god. I have never met a more positive presence or better bartender. This bar is the only bar in the world as far as I’m concerned. Burger and beer combo wins. And the regulars are all cool as hell
I literally come here because Rachel is so kind and welcoming. Not only does she make phenomenal drinks and speedy service, she also had awesome movie and music taste as well as being witty and fun to chat with. She does all of this while also holding a professionalism and making sure the space is welcoming for all.
We had a pleasant time here enjoying some beers with good bar nosh. The bartender was friendly, helpful, and patient. The food was served hot and fast, and up to snuff; I had quality fish tacos. The fries and fried pickles were on point and we got seconds. The bathroom was clean and the crowd was easy going. Not sure why we waited so long to try a place so close to Franklin and Eastern. Laid back, chill, and easygoing.
Great space, solid food and beer selection. Not usually too crowded.
Drinks are good and reasonably priced. Nice neighborhood bar with a decent food for a small bar.
Dope spot. Great drinks and food. They have hookah. Chill spot by yourself, another peer, or even small group.
Friendly staff, reasonably priced. Drinks were weak and not very tasty, but could have just been bad choices on my part!
Nice neighborhood spot. Right on my way home. Food's tasty. And a tasty bar menu. I come here often.
I miss dive bars. This place has potential. Would be nice if they had a jukebox. Good bar food, good drink specials. Ok bye.
First time here. The fish tacos were good. The staff were friendly. Will return.
It has been open for about five days and it seems quite busy already! Television screens with sports watching, different vibe from the bars nearest to it. Definitely adds value to the nightlife on Franklin avenue. Food seems overpriced, but at least they sell draft half pints for $3.00. Edit: they changed their name recently due to "racist backlash". Hoping their prices change, too.
Great drinks, decent food, and a little noisier than I would have liked. All in all I wouldn't mind going back but it wouldn't be my first choice since there are plenty of other bars and pubs in the area to choose from.
Interesting place. Good beer, friendly staff, and has a great atmosphere for hanging out with pals. My friend and I weren't too impressed with the food, but I'd be willing to give it a second shot just to be sure.
Great spot. Would definitely come here again. Great beers on tap and the fried pickles were great
I love this place. I started going there because my friends that live in the neighborhood asked me to join their trivia team. The food is solid and drinks are reasonably priced. I love the trivia host and the atmosphere there. I am taking one star off because I find it tacky and inappropriate that for the past four weeks or so the team that has won are all employees and even a manager that plays. This is a huge conflict of interests, In my opinion. It is not really about winning for the teams that go there to play because all you get is a $42 bar tab and amongst five of us doesn't really do much, but it is about the fun and fairness of it all.
They now have Trivia on MNF and Drag Karaoke on TNF so sports bar it is not!!! But Trivi and Karaoke is pretty cool!!!
I'm a little disappointed I just ordered mac and cheese to go and they served it in a piece of aluminum foil for $10 i think I deserved a better takeout container so if i needed to heat it up i could put in the microwave oven now i will need my oven
3 stars because of Mark. He's a seasoned and very professional bartender. The other ones are absolutely terrible. They can't even make their house cocktails right. I ordered their whiskey and wine drink for $11, which is pretty much a NY Sour. That was the worst thing I've ever tasted in my life. The bartender has zero knowledge and it was obvious on a slow Sunday afternoon. The drink was all sugar, barely an oz of Maker's and a drop of wine that she stirred into a glass without any ice. I actually caught another patron sitting at the bar telling her that's not how the drink is supposed to be made, but the bartender just waved her off dismissively. This girl is nice, I can't say she's personable, but absolutely clueless.
I like this place, I feel that this place is really trying to embrace the neighborhood, being an ethnic person, I was skeptical til I met , Stephan and Mark.. Stephan a friendly smiling face on his first day on the job and Mark the old wily Boston veteran, these guys where awesome to me and couldn't try me with more respect. I'm loving the decor.. Franklin 820 is my kind of bar!!!
The wings are okay. The drinks are fairly priced. They play the whitest music known man and have a sign prohibiting hooded sweatshirts.
Amazingly good food but service comically messed up & seating arrangements are on the bad side. VERY loud music. I recommend take out, because food is awesome but environment is poor.
I've been there two times, really want to love it. But the portions are just too small. Last night i had the brisket sandwich - amazing taste - but about two bites of meat on the whole sandwich. Tater tots - 10 in the basket. Beer special was great, so i will go in again and try again, but i do wish they would fix the TV's so you could watch more than one game.
Good prices but food is inconsistent and service was just comically dreadful. The fries, kale caesar salad and sloppy joe were good. Burger and chicken tacos were not well received.
Service was good. Food and drinks was bad. Restrooms were worst than public restrooms.
Terrible system where you order at the bar, wait staff brings out the wrong stuff or missing stuff, and then they get mad at you for asking that they fix it. Cramped conditions.
Really rude and misogynistic staff. Made me and my mother feel very uncomfortable. :( particularly the tall white man with tattoos.
What a haphazardly thrown together attempt at a bar. Everything from the decor to the menu is a hodgepodge that reminds me of the lame bar in my college town that actively served minors. No personality. They can't seem to keep a staff and the general vibe is that they're hoping to only serve the members of the community that look like them (read: white). They even have a sign banning hooded sweatshirts. Every other establishment I've ever seen with that sign is actively racist. Go across the street for a good time.
This place is a hit or miss — the bartender on one night was great and on another night extremely rude by refusing service. Plenty of other bars in the neighborhood to check out.
No service offered waited 10 min bartender kept walking by and didn’t speak or stop by. We ultimately walked out because she was not interested in serving us and was focused on her friends at the bar.
DO NOT GO THERE. They're losing workers and customers. You go to a bar for relief and tasty bar snacks... not arguments w staff. One bartender in particular (a short bald Caucasian man with glasses) is extremely problematic. Due to him being unfamiliar with a substitute order I frequent atleast 3x a wk...he ordered the chef to not make my food. The chef, familiar w my presence... continued to make my food. He uttered condescending remarks towards me and screamed to the chef to discard the order he had made. I made a complaint to the "manager" on 12/8/21 (a tall bald Caucasian man) who insisted I don't come on Mondays. With management responding to conflict as such you can just imagine the type of staff that will service you. There's a better bar right across the street. Or you can visit 95 south 2 blocks away.
Cute place, good location, friendly waitress, that's all good, I wanted to like the place. The menu is really limited, bascly wings or burgers, which is fine. I figured they must make a really good burger. My wife and I ordered two bacon cheeseburgers done medium, well after 45 minutes they came out. The waitress said it took so long because the cook was having a hard time with the fried pickles I ordered, which I never got and it took 45 minutes to tell me, but the real reason it took so long was the cook was making hockey pucks out of my burgers. They were over done for well done, let alone medium. The molecular structure of the meat had actually changed to something I have never seen before. I was having a lovely day and really didnt want to complain or wait any longer for new burgers. I ate what was chewable, paid , and got out of there. Probably the worst burger I ever had
On Saturday night friends and I went to Franklin 820 a bar on Union in Franklin is the most racist by have ever been to do. The bartender gave me my bill and I didn’t tip her and she showed her friends on the other side of the bar said he didn’t tip Dave the full of them didn’t tip me my friends was reaching in a pocket to give cash, but she had already took the bill too fast. When I asked her why are you showing people my receipt she said oh because I didn’t think you were going to tip me I said your tip is right there. The manager didn’t told me she didn’t know what to do with the receipt. What do you mean you don’t know what to do with the receipt you do what you do with all the rest of the receipts but I guess it was my skin color that didn’t get by I will never ever go to Franklyn 820 again in life to research for me in my own neighborhood where I was born and raised.
Had a terrible experince at this bar. We came in at shift change last night and we're greeted by the first bartender. She served me a beer and was plesant. My friend wasn't sure what to have yet and didn't get to order until the second bartender took over. The second bartender served the drink and all seemed fine. While we were having our conversation the bartender rudely interrupted and butted in. She began to impart her opinion, and I knew it was a no win situation. Despite me politely trying to agree to disagree, this young inexperience bartender began an aggressive lecture and rant. She continued to be aggressive and argumentative despite numerous polite attempts to change the topic. Overall the situation was quite tense and uncomfortable. I would have left but we already ordered and paid for a small plate from the kitchen. After being bombarded with this rude negativity our food arrived. Our drinks were empty but we were never asked if we wanted another. We weren't asked if our food was ok or anything beyond that. To make things worse Dan who I have now come to realize is the owner of this place was seated at the bar 2 seats down from us. He should be ashamed of his staff and his lack of management. Aside from the rude staff I have to say there's nothing appealing about sloppy joes on the menu of an empty bar on a Saturday night. There was also a big sign saying cash only. I'm not the type of guy who walks around with only plastic, so I don't mind paying cash. I did find it strange that we weren't offered a tab despite having over $100 in cash on the bar. I think it's petty to charge for each item one by one at a bar. This was the worst experience I ever had at a bar. I couldn't wait to get out of here. I was so annoyed by the rude staff, but worse was that I felt I didn't get decent service because the bartender didn't agree with my opinion in a private conversation she was not involved in to begin with. Avoid this place.
i come here regularly and love the space! i've had consistent negative experiences with the bartender rachel. A shame to have a negative presence in a positive space, otherwise i love their karaoke nights!
Had a horrible experience here with my sister. We ordered shots and the bartender intentionally gave us a more expensive brand without telling us beforehand and then claimed it was illegal to take it back in exchange for a cheaper brand. Implies we were committing a crime and shouted out “welcome to the real world” then went to badmouth us to other patrons to make us look bad. Now he’s on yelp reviews claiming there is no such bartender working at This establishment. Unprofessional and disrespectful staff. For reference he is a white brunette man with facial hair.
I was greeted by a dog jumping all over me who a customer brought inside the venue thats basically a tiny whole in the wall… They had none of the “bar” food available in the midafternoon ie. chicken wings bone in or boneless or fried pickles. Here you’ll have to seat yourself then walk to the bar side to order items…we were frustrated because the employee behind the counter forgot to bring our water to the table but not to ask for a card to start a tab like we were going to run out. Now this would have been ok if we actually ordered more than a single drink that was subpar and reeked of stale fruit zest
