BLUE VELVET CAKE: delicious blue velvet with fresh blueberry inside! Price rating: 6/10, the price matches all the deliciousness! Been here multiple times and definitely coming back for more! I was dying to try the Brooklyn Blackout and Strawberry Shortcake, I was finally able to make it in and I was not disappointed. They definitely live up to hype. They are a bit pricey but so worth it!! The lady behind the counter also recommended I try the dreaming princess and Mott street slice, I’ll definitely be back for those.
Loved this bakeshop! The cheesecake and the Brooklyn blackout cake were incredible. Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. I recommend grabbing some baked goods and walking over to prospect park to enjoy!
The cheesecake is divine and same for banana pudding. Dear god this is absolutely heavenly. Def get both
I love chai latte and carrot cake here. They were so good. Staffs were nice and a lot of cupcake for optional. I will comeback again to try another cupcake for sure.
I’m 🍃right now and the Banana pudding from here it’s absolutely delicious and amazing. The most homemade flavor I’ve ever had. So fluffy, abundant and filling. I will give it 100/10 ⭐️ best dessert ever
Bought a freshly baked apple pie for Thanksgiving dinner and now my family wants the same (but make it 2!) for Christmas! Loved finding this gem of a bakery! They were very friendly and helpful as well.
Every time I find myself in Prospect Heights, I stop in to pick up slices of their amazing layer cakes. My favorite is the classic Carrot Cake, but the German Chocolate and Coconut Cloud are very good as well.
I love this bakery. I’ve been coming here for years, and every year I choose a different flavor to add to my repertoire, & it never disappoints. The staff is always so kind and patient with me. I’ve introduced this bakery to all of my family and friends, and it’s become a favorite for many of us.
Omg I love this so much my server Nya she was absolutely amazing. Help me out to get some birthday cakes for my grandma for her birthday today. I really do appreciate her so much. She was so sweet and understanding. Great staff. I love that. She made me feel so welcome. I just wanna hug her.
The “Dreaming Princess” is legitimately the favorite desert / slice of cake I’ve ever eaten. I get sad when I sometimes go and it’s not there (even though everything else is delicious). Please never discontinue Dreaming Princess Cake! Sincerely, Dreaming Princess Lover
I was sad when a friend moved away to Brooklyn, but happy that she moved near this cute, delicious cake shop. The cake is always moist, the frosting thick and creamy, the slices delightfully enormous. I don't love the flavor of the Brooklyn Blackout cake, but that's more about my taste in chocolate than their execution. Everything else I've had there has been yum yum yum. Service is friendly and they're open late. What else could you want? Maybe additional locations near me :-)
I had such a great experience at this charming café. I came for a cortado and ended up having arepa for lunch and pan de bono with guava. It’s an Italian coffee shop but one of the owners is from Colombia so it makes all sense to have this surprising treats in the neighborhood. The staff were nice and kind and the music selection very accurate for the vibe. Highly recommended!
I'm writing this review because we saw a girl sit at the table outside close to the outdoor space working on her computer. This person didn't order anything, and the staff at the cafe, who are very kind, told her that she couldn't work on her computer during the weekend and asked her to order something. The girl was very rude on all three occasions, and the staff asked her to leave. And they did the right thing! We don't want these entitled people who aren't from Brooklyn here; they ruin the vibe of the city. Who do they think they are? This person doesn't know how much this cafe is loved by the locals and generally by all the families who support them every day. Instead of treating the people who work there badly, support these guys and small businesses in general. Brooklyn loves you guys
We came in for a quick coffee break and had coffee, hot chocolate, and a collection of cookies. The cookies were delicious, the coffee was good, and the hot chocolate much much better than most places, almost European level. Atmosphere is good, even though the place is tiny. The only downside to this place is that it has no bathroom. Strange that this is allowed. I was considering giving the place a lower score because of this, but, other than that the place is really highly recommended.
I absolutely love this place! I stayed with friends in Brooklyn for a week and returned to this place several times! When I go back I will definitely be visiting my little Italian coffee shop! The aesthetic is perfect, the cappuccino was delish and the breakfast was light and yummy! The staff was also kind and helpful!
Caffe De Martini is my favorite cafe in NYC, and if I lived in the city I would be going here EVERY WEEK! The cappuccino here is the best I've had from all the coffee places I've tried and their great food and pastry options will satisfy you. The decor and outside seating they have available is beautiful and really gives this place a unique charm. I highly recommend!
Their outdoor space is gorgeous and perfect for the season, inside is cozy and perfect for a quick lunch. They’re serving up good imported coffee, delicious lunch options and interesting Italian pastries. Their signature drink is a Cortada with Nutella on the bottom and I have to say I’ve never seen this one before! Other must try items: the Cornetto, the Croissant Egg Sandwich, pan de bono and the vegan cookies.
I stepped in worriedly that there wasn’t a restroom for customers and unfortunately I was right… but ofc I came back (after visiting elsewhere for the 🚽) and ordered the homemade granola yogurt $10.34 after tax. Look at the abundant assortment of berries in my bowl. Happy Sunday it is ✿ 🫐 🍓 A lot of families are here enjoying their Sunday breakfast with their children jumping up and down. I see friends or lovers relaxing and smiling - I won’t take a picture of you, sir. Who knew it was an Italian cafe!
One of the cutest cafes in Brooklyn. The people are so kind and the atmosphere is lovely. Lots of seating areas, both indoor and a covered / heated outdoor area. The desserts are amazing too! Seasonal outdoor flowers covering the doorframe top it all of. Definitely a spot you should check it out in Brooklyn.
Their cannoli was SOOOOO GOOOD! The shell was covered with chocolate inside to keep it from becoming soggy (which is brilliant and delicious) Filling was nice, not too sweet with candied orange on the top. I also tried chocolate baci which was the best I’ve found in nyc so far. Coffee was a classic. Reasonable price and good with their Italian coffee bean. Definitely come back again to try more items🌼
One of best cafe’s in Brooklyn with great pastries. Yummy cookies with surprise chocolate filling, amazing Tiramisu (perfect for those who love a coffee kick) & wonderful pillowy soft Donuts. I’m on a mission to try everything. The staff are always friendly & efficient. Usually busy on a Sunday but line moves fast & take out is quick. Cute cafe decor as well. Love this neighborhood gem!
Wonderful little gem, an Italian authentic cafe in the middle of Brooklyn area! Best coffee and super delicious and fresh cakes and croissants! If you are looking for a place to experience the Italian culture! This is the place to go! Stefano the owner will make you feel like home… isn’t it the best you can get to start your day?
I came here 2 times after reading the reviews. I tried different cakes. I love a couple of them, such as red velvet cupcakes, original cheesecake, and key lime pie. Others are super sweet. The icing is extremely over sweet, and they will definitely give you diabetes. Like young people. The price is not cheap here but the cake tastes fresh so i don't mind about the price too much. Staff are friendly doing their job. I will come back after the overall experience.
3.5/5 not really 4 The Brooklyn blackout cake is a bit overhyped, it was kind of dry. However the strawberry cake was pretty good. Their other options are better. Slices were huge and its a cute place with plenty of seating. Plus friendly service.
I saw a good Google rating and decided to get a coffee, expecting a high quality espresso given Italy's renowned coffee culture. The sky blue door and matching outdoor seating were cute. The Vespa parked outside was iconic, aligning with their culture; whether ridden or purely for aesthetic purposes, we liked it. I also liked the hand written aesthetic of the menus and outdoor signage. While the fake flower gate situation was a bit tacky, I understood their artistic intention. Upon entering, it was packed. We had hoped to find a seat to try their bread or pastry, as the cannoli, other pastries, and breads looked really good. But due to the crowd, we opted for drinks to go. Although outdoor seating was available, it was raining, so patrons were gathered inside the covered booth area. It is indeed a popular spot. My friends and I ordered the cold brew, iced pistachio latte, hot latte, and hot Americano. The Americano was good, confirming my initial positive bias. The iced pistachio latte was interesting; it did taste of pistachio but was too sweet for my preference. While I have not tried the cold brew or hot latte, my friends seemed satisfied with their choices. Service was also good. They greeted us with a smile and were prompt in getting the drinks ready, likely due to the small space. There is no public bathroom available, so I would advise stopping by a restroom before your visit. Overall, the drinks were good, but I do not think I would return just for the coffees since seating seems competitive. However, I do want to try their other food and pastry options when I have the chance.
I am trying a few of my local coffee shops as a Friday afternoon treat. Popped in here by myself and although the space is small I was lucky enough to find a table. The staff were welcoming and I ordered a truffle brownie and the De Martini Nutella special. In hindsight these two items together were too much and I wish I had just ordered a plainer coffee. The coffee itself was good quality but the addition of the Nutella with such a small amount of coffee was a bit much for me. The brownie was very rich and I was only able to eat half (although I did take the other half home to eat later, it was too good to leave). All in all I think Caffe De Martini is a lovely spot and I will visit again but order something a little less rich.
Charming spot on a charming street. Very nice decor, friendly staff, and clearly some artistry went into their signage. Everything was a bit too sweet for my taste. I got a chai latte and a sfogliatelle. The sfogliatelle was pretty hard / difficult to bite into. Apparently they also serve sandwiches and such but there was no indication of that on any of their signage. I would have ordered something savory had I known it was option. I only saw that others had gotten sandwiches and wraps after I'd already ordered my pastry. A good place for a casual meetup for sure!
TLDR; everything we ordered was mediocre at best. Disappointing. We ordered the arepa, mushroom sandwich, tiramisu, iced mocha and orange juice. I was honestly not impressed with anything we late - the arepa was pretty much an open sandwich, the mushroom sandwich was just ok and I’ve definitely had better. I will at least say the orange juice was fresh! The ordering process is an absolute mess because of space constraints. It gets super crowded inside and between people bussing their own tables and standing in line to order, it was absolute chaos.
Ranges from okay to great, and the staff is always sweet, but opening this after paying $10 & looking forward to trying this cake was upsetting. 95% of the frosting is on the paper. The cashier/server was pleasant, but I don’t understand why she thought this was acceptable.
The bakery is very unique and cool with its unique flavors however I got multiple items from there and many of the cupcakes and cake slices were fairly dry in terms of the cake itself but the frosting was decent. The staff was nice and got our order done quick. The banana pudding cup was very good but the chocolate pudding was just okay in comparison
I placed and order on Door Dash for 2 items. The employee put my 2 items in one box. I did not want the 2 items in one box. I wanted separate boxes. Then they give the delivery man my order, no utensils, no napkins, and no bag. Unprofessional! When i go in person to Little Cupcake, I want my regular slice cake.
I have been coming here for years and for the past few months, the shop has gone down hill. The size of the cupcakes and cake slices have gone down while prices have increased by 40%. Customer service is also unfriendly and generally bothered by customers placing orders. The businesses are really taking hits with rising costs and you can see that the owners are cutting costs via quality of goods and wages for their employees. And they don't care and are unbothered by customer feedback, clearly. Sigh. (Objects are smaller than they appear)
I'm here to echo some of the other recent reviews from the past year or so. I used to LOVE this place, and always got my birthday cake here, not to mention cake and coffee throughout the year. Lately the service has gone way down, in terms of staff attitude. Additionally, the cake quality and quantity have decreased, while prices have increased. The last few times I got cake, it was a noticeably smaller slice, and sometimes not very fresh. Really really sad. Doesn't seem like the managers read these either.
Every positive bit of feedback about this place has nothing to do with the baked goods. Kudos for having vegan options, but wow, we’ve gotta step it up on flavor because EEEYUCK. 3 cupcakes, 1 chocolate chip cookie and a peanut butter bar totaling $25. All of it tasted like stale air, it was evident that the vegan goods are days old and hard. The one positive is it reminded me just how spoiled I am as a vegan in Brooklyn. Absolutely disgusting, and I mean everything. Might as well take them off the menu and start from scratch. I see that you all are hiring, I considered applying to give this feedback more directly because the vegan baked goods are in crisis. Vegans, take your business to Clementine’s
