Love the cocktails and dance parties here!! been coming for years and the staff are the best
Cool bar with great energy. DJ was on point and the crowd was fun without being pretentious. Perfect spot to start or end a night in Brooklyn.
I like it here. I went here with a large group via train in my freshman year of college. I also came here with a smaller group via train later on. Planned to visit again senior year and during my post-grad year… Great MOOD lighting as well as fun-themed drinks, interesting event nights and I liked the little projector screen they had in the back that played cute movies. The bathroom was BUSY and DIRTY and DARK.
Such a cool place with a friendly staff and a lovely crowd the night we were there. It was a sold out event and I wish the dance floor was three or four times as big as it is, but everything else was exactly as I hoped for. Even with a full house the drinks came quickly and I loved the Tony Leungs.
Great bar for house music and dancing. $10 cover on weekends, drinks are pretty well priced. $13 for a cocktail and $8 for a white claw or beer etc. only qualm is there is only one bathroom so it can take a while. There is a $3 coat check. The back room is super fun - very dark, flashing lights, fog machine … this bar is for the end of the night!
Googles address brings you to the back entrance, walk around the corner to the front. GREAT drinks at a great price. Chill environment in the back and great dance floor to the back. The people make the place that much more enjoyable, no one is pushy or obnoxious. Everyone is just there for a good time.
It's a cute place. Not flashy on the outside so easy to miss. But sure nice and cozy inside. Friendly bartenders and delicious drinks. Just as fun to go alone as with friends or dates. Good music, dim lighting but not dark, soothing ambience. I don't go to Brooklyn so often but this is a place I'd like to revisit. Oh by the way, there's a dance floor that holds weekly dance parties. I need to explore that.
I don’t go out in Bushwick very often but if the few times I’ve been here, I enjoy the sound system and overall vibe of the dance floor. Plus they have Liquid Death!
Updating my old review. The music is usually great! They put on tons of great events here. The drinks and staff are also lovely. Perfect lighting. My only qualm is how it can get super crowded on the dance-floor, you can barely move at times because it’s packed like sardines. But it has not happened in a while so 😊
Went on a Thursday night and arrived around 10:30-11PM. Smoky room with red and green and blue lights in the dance room at the back. The light changes were kind of bad lowkey. It was disco night and the music was mid. The crowd was actually dancing at least and not just jumping or awkwardly moving ever so slightly. I still had a good time because I always have a good time dancing. The bathroom was good. Enjoyed the water in real cups instead of plastic ones. Too loud to talk indoors tbh. The outside seating tho it’s a little sketch and there is so much smoking going on—it gets in your nose. Spent $10 on the cover fee.
okokok call me picky but you know when someone's little sister is just... cooler than the person themself? that's kinda how i feel about mood ring vs heaven or las vegas. i will say,, there is a live mfing dance floor and its always gonna be busy @ mood ring which is truly fun BUT the lay out of the bar is really not ideal, its crammed in there not in a cute way in certain areas (hallway) and really hard to find seating or anything. staff are super friendly, bouncers are genuinely kind people, and it was a fun cute lil queer environment, just not my most favourite place on earth lel
Had a mostly ok time at Mood Ring, although some of my friends would disagree. The person collecting the cover charge, which was 15 on a Friday night, had a weird attitude towards my friend, which soured the tone at the start. The aesthetic of this place is lovely, and I would consider coming back for that aspect alone. But the vibe was dead!! No one was dancing on the dance floor and the ones who were moving were only swaying mildly. The drink I got was tasty, but definitely did not have a lot of alcohol, and the bartenders were kind of clumped up chatting to each other, which did lead to some lapses in service. Overall, I would try going to this place again, but this was simply not it!
I was really looking forward to coming here because I thought it'd be a great experience. I was really disappointed though. I don't understand why you have to pay a cover for really just a bar that also has a small dance area. I was expecting a lot more since you have to pay to get in. It's super crowded and there's people that know each other that would be great if they would welcome any new comers but instead it just feels cliquey. The dance area is pretty small and pretty dirty looking. Only good thing was the music but that really depends on what DJs there are that day. Drinks are okay but they have a small selection of cocktails to choose from. I really thought I'd be getting more. The place is nice and all but not enough the validate the trip to the area and especially the cover fee.
Walked in yesterday evening looking for a drink and checking directions. The main server walked over to who appeared to be the manager. The manager looked at us, got on her phone and started calling someone whilst looking at us. It was so bizarre, we're clearly tourists as we were asking for directions and have an accent. We looked at the barmaid again and she looked concerned for us, we asked if we should go and her reaction confirmed our suspicions something potentially more sinister was going on. Seeing other reviews about people having their phones stolen makes me think the manager is involved and calls people to target potential customers. Avoid!
We went in on Sunday around 10pm, it smelled of sewage. There were a few people in there singing kareoke like nothing was wrong. We left 5 mins later because the smell was so bad.
Bad customer service and inconsistently good music, unfortunately
My friend’s phone got stolen here and the bouncer tried to gaslight her into turning on her friend that was with her saying they could’ve done it. Also asking weird questions like “Is your password on your phone easy?” Bouncer had to be in on it because who asks that? DO NOT GO HERE.
Two of my friend's had their phones stolen here, along with one other person. The bouncer tried to gaslight my friend into thinking it wasn't stolen and that we just misplaced it. He tried to make us turn onto each other. Yes, the astrology virgo special was good but it's not worth it. DON'T GO HERE!!
I got my phone stolen here during their southeast asian night event :/ When I went outside, I found out that two of my friend’s friends also had their phones stolen at the same time. In total I heard about 8 people got their phones stolen. The people here didn’t really do much to help us out besides saying that they would keep an eye out for it. Didn’t feel like they cared about all the people who had their phones stolen besides making an announcement telling everyone to be careful… Thought this was supposed to be a poc safe space but it felt like the complete opposite, my first and last time here!
