I like the sweet potato fries so much. It's crunchy and sweet, a bit oily for me, but still fine. The sauce for the fries are also great. works pretty good with the fries let it taste not that oily.
I had looked up restaurants on TikTok and they popped up and when I say, I scroll through the comments so fast to see what people recommended. I kept seeing them talking about the garlic Ramen. That food was 10 out of 10 it was amazing and the drinks were so good and strong. When I come back to Brooklyn, I will come here again!
This place was great. Attentive staff and the Ramen was amazing. I had the Red Tonkotsu, the pork was like butter and a nice spice without blowing your head off and everyone else had vegetable or shoyu ramen. Everyone in the group raved about how good it was, even this little guy who is not particularly adventurous and he demolished the whole bowl. We (me and the wife) washed it all down with a warm sake which was also a winner.
Love this place! Great food and very nice staff. Thanks!
Best ramen joint ever! It took my husband back to his years in Japan. We are a large family and each of us had different ramen soups; all were delicious. Good taste, noodles were just right, miso was, oh so heavenly. Our souls were happy. Thank you Kogane for making our trip to Brooklyn so memorable!
We stumbled upon Kogane in Brooklyn Heights a few years ago and their delicious ramen has made us repeat customers. Service is always friendly and expedient and the ramen is mind-blowing. If you’re ever in the area and craving a warm ramen on a cold day to lift your mood, make it a point to stop by Kogane.
Ramen is super tasty. Definitely recommend the pork. The broth was super thick and not overly salted which I find to be the case with too many other ramen joints. I also recommend the shishito peppers which had some serious kick. Finally, the staff was super friendly and accommodating.
Not what I expected at all. Ramen enthusiast stopping into Brooklyn just for the night. Had to have my fix. Got the spicy miso, gyoza, and Wings (Togo). Ramen wasn’t overly thick or spicy. Perfect balance. Pork was savory and not overly fatty. Gyoza was crispy but still tender. Service was impeccable. Water stayed topped up on a hot day. Was even given green tea after finishing my meal. Worth a try if you haven’t been!!
ohhhh yesss, I <3 the spicy miso (with corn!!) It's my go to, and always hits the spot. The broth is delicious, and the noodles are firm -- combined with the other flavors, I can't recommend this spot enough if you're craving ramen or soup on a cold day! Atmosphere is cozy and intimate
One of the best ramen I had in NYC. I stayed in Manhattan for 2 weeks and tried some Ramen restaurants. This is one of my favourite. I'm a worshiper of Ramen since I stayed in Japan in 2018 and this reminded me all the flavors and feelings of the japanese ramen bars. I suggest it a lot! Get a classic Tonkotsu Ramen with a Sapporo pint, you won't regret it.
Ramen was AMAZING! Very low key place, especially at night. Great atmosphere for a date night or chilling with some friends. I love ramen and I ordered the lobster ramen. Broth was hearty and well flavored. Lobster was not over cooked and tasted amazing. I’ll definitely be back again. The food was def worth it.
They have great service and their broth is so flavorful. I had their spicy vegetarian ramen and their Kogane wings which were cooked crispy just how I prefer. AND THE SAUCE ot comes with is delicious. Their service is so nice too, the staff was very attentive. Definitely coming here again
(Frist time dinning at Kogane) Went here with my mom and aunt for my mom's birthday and was not disappointed! We arrived yesterday [26th, Friday] around 4:30pm and it was empty(yay). Our appetizers were Vegetable and Pork gyoza(my mom and aunt don't eat pork) it was delicious and well prepared. For ramen we had 2 Shoyu and 1 Tonkotsu and once again, it was delicious. Though it was my aunt's first time having ramen and she struggled with those chopsticks 😅 she loved it. The staff was polite and attentive to us. The food was great and they wait time for it was less than 15mins. The atmosphere was calm and pretty well organized when it comes to space- they also have outdoor seating. Given the time that we went, we were lucky and after about an hour more people started come.
I've never had a ramen bowl with pork jowl before and it was DELICIOUS, I think pork belly is too fatty and chatsu is sometimes dry, this was a perfect protein, and I can never find it anywhere else!
Definitely one of the better ramen places in Brooklyn. The wait for this place can get long so make sure you get there early or on off peak hours. The broth for all the ramens were very rich and steaming hot when they came out of the kitchen, perfect in my opinion. Will come back again to try some other dishes.
Tremendous Ramen. The spicy vegetable broth was out of this world.
Name was an excellent server and gave me everything I needed and more. I’ll definitely be back to this gem. I had the spicy miso and it was to die for with some chili oil.
A small joint and we took some time to find it. Ramen was good, not the best, but still good. We tried the Plum wine (10% alc) and it was gooood. Takoyaki was nice. We also tried the Crab bun. It had a soft shell which was crunchy but the shell does not have much taste. It was my first time having the soft shell crab bao. Service was fast and smooth.
In a cute but restaurant-light neighborhood, where most local options are brunch-heavy or bakeries, Kogane is a gem. Small spot, adorned by wood walls and benches, super close to subway, with great food and service. Seaweed salad & Spicy Miso Ramen were both great and staff was attentive. Menu has a ton of options (from ramen to kid-friendly favorites like fries & wings), including many beers & sakes. High chairs available for the little ones. Priced for enjoyment without regret. Will definitely be back!
Saw this spot while walking down to the waterfront. Looked like a nice, quiet, and comfy spot to have a bowl of ramen on a chilly day. So glad I came. I got the Truffle Ramen based on a recommendation from the host. I also ordered Karagge. The ramen hit the spot. The broth was creamy, the chicken was soft, and the noodles were firm. The Karagge was piping hot. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for something that will warm you from the inside out!
Love Kogane, have been going to this and the Manhattan location for a while now. I always try to bring friends when we’re nearby since there’s something I love about the recipes here. The sazón is tasty. Had the takoyaki which is always good and tried the yuzu ramen for the first time. Super yummy. The yuzu ramen was very citrusy which I loved; just wish it also tasted a bit more like tonkotsu. The texture and mouthfeel of the hand pulled noodles are why I keep coming back. Def recommend.
Kogane has become one of my favorite places, most recently. The food is great, as is the service. Noodle are fresh and cooked to perfection. Music choice is ok, definitely not a great fit with the food and the atmosphere of the place, but since food is great, I can forgive them for making me listen to “The Weeknd”, while I’m having ramen.
a nice ramen restaurant! we went right around 12:30 on a Saturday, no wait. was seated very quickly, service gave us green tea and water right away :). we ordered spicy tonkatsu and regular tonkatsu ramen - it was so tasty, and loved the broth! the noodles were one of the best i’ve had in nyc so far! can tell it’s freshly made, however our eggs were overcooked. the price was v decent for the portion we were given! def a go to if you’re nearby and looking for a good ramen spot!
The best!!! Loved everything about this place, from the hole in the wall vibe to the excellent service to every bite exceeding my expectations. The octopus balls are a must (just trust me!). The kimchi ramen is a dupe for a favorite I’ve had before and I loved every spoonful of that amazing broth. This will become a regular spot for sure. Also love that they have a small selection of wines and sake but also the regular sodas. Absolutely delicious, could not recommend more!
Got it to go on a Wednesday around 1 pm, ordered through seamless, and pick up was ready by 15 min after placing the order. Perhaps even earlier (it was ready for pickup before the app even said it was ready). Fast service, good food. Would preferably like more pork or the other half of the egg in the tonkotsu ramen, but otherwise it was all good - Brussel sprouts, seared tuna, and ramen. The noodles and broth was packaged separately which is nice to prevent soggy noodles in a take out situation.
Excellent food and service, but they played AI music. Spotify Premium ads sounded better than the slop music lmao
nice little corner restaurant. excellent service and very attentative waitress who served us. the food was descent, ordeered same ramen twice first one was salty and second one was bland. it was weird but taste and texture was ok.
Altogether a 4/5 star place. Second time eating here. Takoyaki and ramen are good, though the chashu is of very poor quality. The takoyaki is impeccable, with the right amount of filling to batter ratio. Batter was fried to perfection, too, with a crisp skin. The octopus was also flavorful. For the ramen, the broth is amazing - very thick, fragrant and flavorful. The noodles are also perfectly cooked to the perfect texture. The bowl of tonkotsu ramen came with a generous helping of spring onions, bamboo shoots, half a ramen egg and chashu. This would be the perfect bowl of ramen for me, if not for the disappointing chashu, which had a rubbery texture and was lacking in flavor. Would definitely be back, but would not get the chashu again.
a tasty bowl of ramen on a cold rainy night! the broth was mostly just salty, but the noodles were fresh and delicious. chashu was okay. we also got the shishito peppers, which defied all expectations by being incredibly spicy — i’m not sure if this is a pro or a con. eat at your own risk. they were busy but not crowded on a monday night; staff were friendly and polite. i’d come back if i happened to be in the area, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again.
Ramen was flavorful and fairly creamy. The pork was a bit fatty but not quite crispy enough for my liking. Shop looked nice inside and staff was pretty quick with our orders. The cream soda tasted like carbonated honeydew but 3 dollar for a can seemed overpriced to me. Overall a nice eating experience and would come back again.
Went here to eat with my friend from out of town. We shared the busses sprouts which I didn’t find spectacular but decent. And I had the spicy miso soup which was very good. I left very full and satisfied. We sat in their outdoor seating on a cold night and I didn’t feel that cold. I gave four stars because I felt like service could have been more attentive.
Very nice local Ramen joint. I got the tonkatsu ramen for $15. Overall the bowl of ramen was very fresh with good pork bone broth. I think the highlights were the charred pork and well cooked noodles. They even gave a complimentary cup of tea at the end of the meal. My knocks for why not 5 stars is that I wish the broth was a bit richer and that the bowl had more broth/noodles. Overall this is a great spot when you’re craving a quick bowl and you’re nearby.
This place has a nice, cozy atmosphere and vibe, and the ramen here is phenomenal with delicious broth. I would appreciate a larger serving size proportional to the noodles given, and the noodles are a bit hard, but that may suit you judging your taste. The staff are very friendly and give you large smiles. Our ramen also arrived very quickly, stupendous service. I came as a family of 6, and the staff quickly rushed to pull two tables together to suit our wish. The table is also clean and the floor is tidy as well. A great first taste of New York and Japanese culture! Recommended!
Solid affordable ramen served fast. They have a bit of a flag adding fish oil or other semi-common ingredients, but nothing extra-ordinary. Come here for a ramen fix that will cure your craving for a solid standard ramen. I recommend the spicy tonkotsu ramen or the shoyu (with fish oil). Portions are above average size for the price. We also tried the chicken wings which have a bit of a citrus/sour edge.
Great Ramen! I had the pork ramen bowl. The bowls are very big and the pork gyoza was cooked perfectly with the sauce. The green tea was refreshing. My only qualm is the staff member who served us, never asked if my friend and I were ok and was staring at us a little too often for me. Maybe she was just checking on us with her eyes🤷🏾♀️ that’s the only reason it’s not 5 stars.. but overall I’ll definitely be back.
I like the vibe here, the Tonkotsu broth is so flavorful and rich, the black garlic oil is an amazing add on. The noodle itself is kind of too hard for me, I normally don’t specifically ask how the noodle cooked for other ramen places and the default version works fine for me, but I asked the server she also said the ramen here is median cooked. So I suppose if I’m about to visit next time I’ll ask for softer noodles.
The ramen I had was SO DELISH! My only issue was I literally only had X2 cutlets for 19$ ramen which didn’t seem fair. Yummy soup but stingy portion on the meat.
Love this neighborhood ramen place- great flavors and lovely interiors. My only feedback would be for the broth to be hotter.
Kogane is a ramen restaurant located in Brooklyn just right of the Brooklyn Bridge. It has both exterior and interior seating. Their menu isn't all that large, but that is in their favor as they, by my opinion, seem to have mastery of the deslicate art that is ramen. My first time their I took on the Red Tonkotsu Ramen, a nice creamy but heavy ramen that took on a greater level of flavor once chilli paste is added. The heat was perfect. The virtually impossible balancing act that all the ingredients take while swimming in the broth was beautifully done to such a magnificent display that most every other ramen place I have visited before has been lost to the shadow of my memory. If I could name one negitive it would be the seating. This is probably towards persons who only share my physical issues. The indoor seats that face in foot traffic have no back support. If you can hold yourself up for to long don't sick on that side. Other then that, this place rocks.
I haven’t had too many ramen spots here in NYC but this one had very very delicious ramen. The tonkatsu pork broth was delectable and the noodles were so springy and scrumptious. The only downside is that they didn’t use the traditional chashu pork belly slices but it was amazing nonetheless!
A bit larger than a hole-in-the-wall spot, but still has that cozy vibe. The ramen is genuinely delicious, the service is always great (note: cash only), and there’s a surprisingly decent outdoor area along the curb. I’ve been here countless times—solo, with my sister, with friends—and every single visit ends the same way: I’m so full I can barely finish my bowl. That almost never happens at NYC restaurants. Consistently satisfying and worth returning to.
Nice ramen shop in the area, 2nd location with first locate on 14 & 8th? Much more traditional and better than the branch of michelin rated ramen shop closer to dumbo that closed down. Trypical menu selection got Takoyaki and Tonkotsu. Pleasant wait staff and cozy place, nice spot to grab a bite after hanging out at brooklyn bridge piers.
Really good ramen! It’s slightly too fatty and oily but a solid 8/10. The fried chicken was a bit disappointing, size of the meat wasn’t at a good ratio. The eggplant was really good, nice miso dressing. The Spider Crab Buns was a nice surprise, good crunch to go with the soft bun. Overall, solid!
We came on a Thursday night at 7pm and they were quick to seat us for a party of 4, even though our 4th person wasn't there yet. Waters and menus were doled out very quickly, which I appreciated. My boyfriend got there within 5 minutes of us being seated and by 730pm, the place was a madhouse. The place is small to begin with the line to get seated was now out the door. The service never suffered and we never felt rushed even though there was a huge line of prospective diners, all jonesing for our seats. We got the large (375mL for $9) house hot sake, an order of edamame ($5), sauteed brussel sprouts ($7) and pork gyoza ($6 for 5 pieces) to start. The edamame was standard fare. It is pretty hard to mess up edamame! The gyoza was also delicious but nothing to write home about. The sauteed brussel sprouts were the star of the appetizer show. Perfect balance of spice and umami flavor from the fish sauce. For $7, the portion was very small, maybe 10 brussel sprouts cut in half, at the very best. It comes in the same size bowl as the edamame and we could have easily eaten 2 servings of it, without question. Next, we got 2 orders of shoyu ramen ($14), a chicken broth based ramen with chicken breast, corn and mushrooms, a parco ramen ($14), which is the pork bone broth and curry based ramen with a pork cutlet and I got the red tonkotsu ($13) ramen, which is the spicy pork ramen. The ramens came out hot and fast. We were pretty stuffed from all the appetizers so we barely had time to digest before the entrees were presented. My spicy ramen was pretty good but definitely not spicy enough. They have a condiment jar of chili garlic oil on the table and I added some in my ramen, which helped but I did wish that the soup was as spicy as advertised. My boyfriend and daughter were not crazy about the chicken shoyu ramens. It had a layer of fermented fish sauce (called "patis", in Filipino kitchens) floating on top and you're supposed to stir it through the soup. My boyfriend didn't know this so his first ladle of soup was all fish sauce. He was shocked as to how salty the food was and I noticed the culprit floating on the surface of the bowl. After stirring it through, it definitely tasted better. My daughter has a sensitive palate to anything fishy so even after stirring, she was still overwhelmed by the fish sauce permeating through her soup. 3 appetizers, sake, and 4 bowls of ramen, with tax and tip came out to $107. Not the cheapest option for dinner but not that bad either, considering its Brooklyn Heights. If I were to come here again, I think it'd just be for appetizers and drinks. The service was good but the ramen could be much better.
This place is inedible. Remarkable that people come here. Noodles are cooked to random times usually resembling wire shards.
On Friday July 21, 2023 @ 12:30PM the Female server with black hair with no glasses was forcefully grabbing the to-go bag from me when I requested to sit so I can also order dessert . The female server was NOT pleasant. The serve did NOT listen to what I had to say . She kept talking over me . I wouldn't recommend coming if this server is here The cook was very good and did a very good job
Absolutely disgusting : HAIR IN THE FOOD ! At first, we went because of the comments but we were so disappointed. The quality and the taste was bad. It is really pricey for what it is. On top of it, my boyfriend and I had both hair in our ramens... When we said to the staff, they were completely useless. We were so shocked about the no reaction of the staff. I do not recommend !!!!
The service was terrible here. I came but the lady kept ignoring me until I signaled her for a table. Then when I was about to tell her what my order was, she ignored me again and turned to other customers. How rude that was??? Plus the dining area was unpleasant too — i kept seeing flies where I was sitting. The food wasn’t great either. Look at this noodles in the photo. They’re still hard and stuck together — and is this what they call “fresh ramen”? Would not come back here again. The high rating was prolly from white people who have no standards for ramen and good customer service.
