Love the decor has a very old school vibe to it from the tin ceiling to the sinatra playing in the background. The staff are all very attentive and great, as for the food it is amazing the cavolo salad is to die for as is pretty much everything on the menu..

Lovely atmosphere at this lively Italian restaurant. No table? The bar is equally ideal for a pair of diners. Save room for dessert, as the tiramisu is a must.

Their brunch was great, they make a mean steak and eggs but their homemade gnocchi were some of the best flavor pillows I've had.

Two blocks from my home and I never can figure it why I don't eat here more. Everything is delicious. Don't miss the Pulpo appetizer or any of the fresh pastas with ragus.

SO GOOD. Went for brunch and the pancakes were amazing. Also got carbonara and eggs Benedict which were both delicious. Really cute little place. The service took a long time even though they weren’t very crowded, but honestly didn’t mind because the food was so good.

Absolutely adore this place. The atmosphere inside (pre-covid) was always perfect. Light music playing in the background, and the staff is so welcoming and lovely. There isn’t anything on the menu we don’t love. The brunch options are great but it’s also a great spot to go sit at the bar, have a coffee and a croissant, and just relax.

Delicious food - Had Bolognese, Semifreddo and a Coke with tax and tip - $53. Super friendly Employees and clientele. I left my wallet there, and I was able to pick it up there the next day!

Great atmosphere and delicious food. Spacious outdoor dining setup and the pasta is all handmade. Started with the salmon ceviche and then had the pappardelle with mushroom sauce, both of which were delicious. Finished off dinner with a cappuccino, flourless chocolate cake, and homemade tiramisu. All in all a home run of a meal!

A nice little Italian style cafe with great coffee and sandwiches and other specials. Great for brunch.

Extremely accommodating staff as we wanted to squeeze in a baby stroller. Found ourselves a cozy corner at the bar where we tucked the stroller in. I got the basil omelette and my sis got the French toast, both delicious. There's a side of basil sauce that you can dip bread in and it was divine. I licked the plate clean practically.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing dinner at Provini recently. Provini has been in the area for quite some time and I’m upset that I’m just getting around to visiting. Our pasta dishes were homemade and delicious. The panna cotta was the perfect cherry on top of our meal. Great ambience and decor inside. Can’t wait to come back!

One of the best neighborhood spots in Park Slope. A gem hidden away from the crowds. Food is amazing and a solid wine list. But it's the ambience my wife and I go back for. Relaxing and good for conversation.

This is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. The food is always amazing and the folx working here are really nice. The ambience is great, too. My faves on the menu are the salmon tartare, and the tiramisu. I don’t even like tiramisu, but their’s is my favorite dessert of all time.

Brava! Bravo! We chose Provini to celebrate a creative gathering of women from around the country who were craving authentic Italian food. The homemade pasta melted in your mouth; (Mmmmm…the mushroom tagliatelle and lasagna were delectable! ) The atmosphere was intimate, perfect bistro lighting, repleat with soft, bubbling conversation and clinking glasses. The signature drinks, fresh and fun! For them, I raise my cup and will be back!

Delicious, thoughtful and delicate branzino filet special. My companion had the eggplant parmesan and really enjoyed it. Wine selection (plus the prosecco) was on the mark. Staff was friendly and made the evening a great experience.

W

We love Provini, from the friendly wait staff to the excellent food. WE go there frequently to enjoy delicious, elegant meals. Only caveat - we tend to go for the fish only if it's simply grilled there, because they can overdo the sauces or coatings. Provini salad and grilled vegetables are our go-to appetizers. If duck or scallops are on the specials menu, I'd say go for those, they are always outstanding. The basic bolognese, lasagna and eggplant parm that you'd expect at any Italian restaurant are all delicious and have a unique Provini spin to them.

Consistently excellent Italian food - classics and some twists, warm service, beautiful decor, great little street patio seating area, reasonable prices. Love it, we go here all the time.

I hadn't gone here for a while even though it was down the street from us and now I wish we had gone sooner!! It was incredible food - true Italian homemade pasta - and you can really tell the difference between that and a standard pasta dish elsewhere. Wonderful service and the atmosphere was truly everything that you want out of a dining experience. Such a perfect neighbourhood spot - felt like the kind you bump into in little corners of Trastevere, Rome.

8/5 stars. Food: simple, good ingredients prepared perfectly. We had the cauliflower soup, provini salad, tagliatelle ragu and bolognese, everything was fall out of your seat delicious. Vibes: we sat at the bar. The bartender/ server/ host was as good as a hospitality person can be- she was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. It felt cozy and comfortable. In my opinion, it’s hard to do an Italian dining experience better!

Delicious food. We got the salmon tartare as an entree. I got the carbonara and my wife got the clams. All of it was fantastic. The service was outstanding and the drinks were good too. We came during lunch, so it was pretty quiet. We will definitely come here again.

From the welcoming atmosphere to the food and service this place was a win start to finish. The burrata and grape tomatoes had great fresh flavors and were perfect for sharing. The Provini spritz was better than any aperol spritz I’ve had due to the slightly sweeter Cappelletti Red Bitter. For my entree, I went with the bolognese and the pasta was perfectly al dente with great bold flavors from the sauce. Our server, Natalia, was an absolute gem and radiated warmth in every interaction. The restaurant is nestled in a great, friendly neighborhood making the entire experience (including the other patrons) feel like a meeting with an old friend. Can’t recommend enough.

Was pleasantly surprised at how great their weekend brunch service was compared to their weekday evening service. I will definitely be going back for brunch!! The staff this time were accommodating and extremely friendly. They knew the menu, and made suggestions. The atmosphere is always warm and romantic, and the seating is always comfortable. Provini, I really wanted to love you the15 times I dined at your restaurant prior, but this time was the first time you made me SO glad I tried you again. Thank you for the experience I was hoping for in the past. Professional, yet warm, welcoming service and amazing Italian dishes that remind me of my own cooking. Nicely done.

I got the pasta with shrimp, it was really good. Their negrini is also yummy. My friends who live in the area frequent this place and they swear by all the pasta dishes. I definitely would come back. Their bread was also perfect 😌. Service was amazing.

Really cool vibe that my girlfriend and I really enjoyed. The supes friendly bartender gent was very knowledgeable on the wines and we landed on one from Sardinia that is going to be a staple at my dinner parties moving forward. Our food was excellent and the bread was warm and outstanding. Grazie Provini! 🙃

I had an excellent celebration meal. It is a newish place that seems old. Management might have squeezed in more tables, but I appreciate the ability to find privacy. The food & wine were delicious. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I will go back. And the coat rack is appreciated.

We stopped for dinner on a whim and were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed everything. We ordered specials and a few starters. The olives were the best and freshest we've had in the US, and pasta dishes were incredible.

J

A neighborhood spot that delivers decent pastas, creative specials, and all manners of classic Italian fare. Accompanying the food is a small, but well-catered wine list highlights the many diverse regions and varieties of Italian wine. In addition to the spot's versatility - equally good for brunch, lunch, family dinners, casual date nights, etc. - it is the little things that make this place special. The olive oil served with the bread is good quality and always fresh. Service is friendly and efficient, even when busy. And the after dinner espresso is always made to perfection.

I reserved for 2. When we first walked in the door a waiter his name is Fabrizio. He gave us a table for 2. I was impressed because it is a cozy place for a small restaurant. I ordered Potato Leek Soup it was yummy delicious. My wonderful friend Brian ordered Burrata. For main course I ordered Milanese and he ordered Bolognese. The food was big portions. I loved how the food was marinated and presented to us. Panna Cotta for dessert is out of this world. It is made to perfection.

Had a great time eating here. This was our second visit and the service is always top tier. The pasta is very fresh and tastes excellent. The guy waiter with the ponytail is awesome, he recommended the tiramisu without missing a beat and lemme tell you - the man was right on the money. It’s a knock out of the park. The vibe & aesthetic of their outside seating is also quite enjoyable as well.

Provini is a secret little gem of a neighborhood restaurant tucked into an especially quiet, leafy corner of Park Slope. The interior is cozy and relaxed, with around 10 tables, a few bar seats, and a few sidewalk tables. The staff and food are always on point. We had the gnocchi on the menu and the calabrian chili gnocchi special and both were fantastic. This is a perfect place for just a casual dinner with friends or a date or anything in between.

I saved this place as my favorites in the beginning, the food is actually really great, at least from what I and my girlfriends have tried. But when they brought us our check, the excitement went down. First of all they are including tips already to the bill, I mean we were party of three, why would you do this? I understand it’s necessary in the USA, and still tips is tips, there’s no law on it and it should be on the customers direction, shouldn’t it? Not like additional mandatory charge of 22% (22%??) Again I understand it would be a party of 8 or more people, but to include into the bill of everyone is kinda lame. And then 22%? What made you guys think we would want to leave 22%? 20% is standard for all the restaurants, in Europe it’s way less and the food and service is often way better (especially the food). I do not agree to be imposed to pay 22% especially when I don’t think I want to leave that much (for the wine that both me and girlfriend had to wait and to remind waiters to bring us, several times, as an excuse example). And even more, on top of that, you guys are counting tips of 22% from the amount that’s already with the tax?? This smells like a deceit to me, I’m sorry I don’t like when places do that. The tips should be calculated off the pretax money. I don’t like to be cheated upon in restaurants. So even though the food (what we ate) was really great, not sure I will go there again and have unhighlighted from my favorites places, I don’t like when the people and places force me to pay more by overstating the amount due. As an update thank you for settling the bill, I understand there was an error, next time I will try to settle the issue at the restaurant before writing frustrating review, apologies in my return for overreacting. I still stand by my statement that the food was great.

I love Provini, it’s consistently one of my favorite restaurants in the city and I make an effort to eat there despite not living in the neighborhood. It’s a great local spot, chill enough that you can bring your kids for weekend brunch, but classy enough that you can go for a fancy cocktail with your girlfriends at night. The vibe is old New York, I haven’t had a bad thing on the menu, and the servers and bartenders are so lovely and take such good care of you. Must-haves dishes are the Parmesan Crème Brûlée (trust me, this will awaken something in you), the Siciliana salad, and the Lasagna, but I’ve never had a disappointing meal here. For cocktails, you can’t go wrong with the Provini spritz, and for a fun and unique take on the espresso martini try the Espresso Yourself. My personal favorite is the Negrini Sbagliato. If you’re seeing a movie at Nighthawk Prospect Park, make some time to stop by Provini before or after!

We sat outside and I had the gnudi. Provini felt casual and friendly and the food was quite good. They can't serve alcohol beyond wine and beer because they are near a school, but the wine selection is good. This place specializes in pasta, which they executed very well. Also recommend the parmesan crème brûlée.

Always delicious food and exceedingly nice service. Favorites include salmon tartar, Sicilian salad and it is one if the few places that makes really excellent Bolognese sauce and also terrific lasagna. Wines are consistently very good a d reasonably priced. A neighborhood gem!

My son recommended this restaurant. Came here as a family. It was great. Wonderful atmosphere, great staff. The menu was interesting. We all had pastas. I ordered a tagliatelle bolognese which excellent. The gnocchi was also very good. Nice wine list and reasonably priced. The tiramisu was shared by 4 of us and was wonderful. They did not rush the meal even though they were busy. Highly recommended.

The food was absolutely spectacular! The staff was attentive and friendly too, it was just really nice overall. I attended a birthday dinner, and I've never had some of the things that were on the menu. I got to try other dishes as well as my own, and it was all just amazing. The gnocchi al funghi is... Wow, like, very well balanced, and I loved every single bite of it. If I ever have a lot of money, I'd come back here in a heartbeat to enjoy it again. I really recommend the tiramisu as a dessert, as well. The texture and flavor are just so yummy. It's possibly the best I've ever had.

This little restaurant is a real gem in the neighborhood serving Italian fare and brunch. The Provini Spritz cocktail 🍹 is a must have for brunch. The Burrata with pesto grape tomatoes and sour dough is a great starter to share. The cavatelli with broccoli rabe, garlic, and almonds was cooked perfectly al dente and delicious. The salsiccia panini with pork sausage was also great. If you’re not in the mood for Italian there’s also traditional brunch menu with delicious pancakes 🥞. The atmosphere is very nice. Whether inside or outdoor, seating is pleasant. Highly recommended 👍🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

absolutely delicious spot would highly recommend. the flavors of the dishes were so unique and really does Italian food justice, not any typical Italian joint here. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND bufalina which is the buffalo mozz prosciutto artichoke, and the cavatelli which is the broccoli rave pesto pasta with toasted almonds. we also had the gnocchi and paparadelle but the special came out i think anyway highly recommend

We had passed Provini for months before finally coming in… I’m so glad we finally did. We came on a weeknight and sat at the bar, though there were tables open too. They have a great outdoor seating space set up as well. The bartender was so nice and friendly and guided me through which wine to order as I was torn between a few (the pours were also healthy which was a plus). For food we ordered the parmesan creme brûlée, a salad, and the bolognese. The creme brûlée and bolognese were specifically fantastic. Can’t wait to return.

If you're looking for a delicious Italian meal in the neighborhood, look no further than Provini! As a local resident, I've had the pleasure of dining at this establishment several times, and I have yet to be disappointed. Their friendly staff itself is a great reason to be there. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and friendly staff create a welcoming environment that makes you feel right at home. And let's not forget about the food! Their menu boasts a variety of classic Italian dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. One standout dish that I can't get enough of is their homemade pasta. It's perfectly cooked and has a wonderfully chewy texture that pairs perfectly with their rich, flavorful sauces. But it's not just the main courses that are noteworthy. Their appetizers and desserts are also top-notch. The bruschetta is a personal favorite of mine, and the tiramisu is simply divine. Overall, I highly recommend giving Provini a try. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night spot or a casual dinner with friends, this place is sure to please. And with reasonable prices, you won't have to break the bank to enjoy a fantastic meal 😍 enjoy and have a wonderful time 🍷😁🍝❤️ what more? Oh yes I also like their decoration, a true Brooklyn style classic NYC setting in a great neighborhood

Been to Provini a couple of times now. Most recently for brunch and it’s always a really solid meal with attentive service! For brunch we got the uovo Al forno, a carbona, and their take on a Benedict. Everything was fantastic (who doesn’t love a breakfast pasta and an americano…) The carbonara was delicious with ample amounts of ham, and the uovo had hefty portions of perfectly Al denté asparagus. The breakfast potatoes weren’t anything to write home about but all in all this place is a gem tucked away close to the south side of the park.

Great and small Italian Restaurant. We went there on a Saturday afternoon with 7 people. Super welcoming and kind employees. Starters were delicious, especially the burrata!!! 4 people had PAPPARDELLE AL FUNGHI and they LOVED IT. Even i had a chance to taste it and it’s their best!! Cavatelli was good but it was greasy at the end. I’m highly recommending this place!! The atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in a small restaurant in Italy🇮🇹!!

Delightful luncheon al fuori on clement September day. Pasta the best I’ve enjoyed outside Italy, fresh, al dente , pomodori seemingly from a local garden. lime and mint Prosecco preparing palette to savour a torta reclining starkers and most seductively on her bed of creamy raspberry and vanilla sheets all purveyed under the charming Authority of the mistress of these singular premises

Food was yummy! We asked the server if the pasta contained any alcohol and she wasn't sure but she double checked and let us know. I thought that was very thoughtful and sweet! I didn't get her name but we appreciated it. The atmosphere is nice too, the restaurant is small but cozy and it had an outside eating area too.

The food is consistently delicious. Great options for a light bite or a full meal. They always seem like they're short one waitstaff but the people are always really friendly. Would be nice if they had a bigger wines by the glass list. Also be prepared to sit really close to your neighbors. If you don't like dining next to families with small children, maybe plan to eat at the bar.

Best French toast I ever had. Brioche, and a toasted cinnamon flavor. Excellent and filling. Although the ricotta pancakes were also good, I would expect 3 pancakes for 14 bux instead of 2. But great vibe in the place and great Italian coffee.

I have only been here for lunch and draft beer, being a select few places that had Other Half on-tap. However, the taps are gone now, only bottles. The pollo panini had more melted cheese than I usually prefer and the dressing tasted a bit like French and was liberally applied. Still, a nice quiet place for lunch.

Overrated, slow service, tasteless pasta and ordinary souce... the waiters are great, doing their best, but the kitchen is not in good shape. Four of us waited for 45 mins to get our dinner served, only three came, the last came in 55 mins. They were kind, did not charge it. Yet i haven’t eaten such an ordinary and tasteless pasta for a long while. Go to al di la or any other place... pass provini.

I've been twice where I order the fish egg topped pasta because I forgot I didn't like it the last time. Dry, under flavored, disappointing dish. Other items are better

Very mid italian food especially for the price. Nothing we ordered was very good. We got the burrata, spring onion soup, duck risotto special, and gnudi. All were too salty or too plain. $125 mistake.

There are a lot of Italian restaurants in Park Slope: Pasta Louise, Piccoli...so the competition is pretty tough, but Provini holds its own! The service was really nice. Staff was friendly and everything moved at a good pace. The pasta was solid. Nothing mind-blowing but definitely well made and satisfying. I absolutely lost my mind over the the parmesan crème brûlée. Total highlight—really unique and delicious!!! The kale salad wasn’t great. The texture was rough and it tasted pretty bitter with no other flavors shining through. Probably wouldn’t order that again. Overall, Provini is a good option in the area. Not a standout across the board, but worth checking out, especially for the service and that crème brûlée.

Service and food is incredibly slow. We waited 45 minutes for brunch and were never given an update or checked on. That’s the 2nd time it’s happened to us. Won’t be going again. It’s too bad because the food is good.

I’ve only had brunch here and I’m not impressed. Hours on google are incorrect — stated that it opens at 10 am on weekends but in fact doesn’t open till 11. Eggs Benedict left a lot to be desired. The egg was basically hard boiled instead of poached and the bread was too thick and stale tasting. Won’t be rushing back.

Decent food, but truly awful service. Our waitress straight up forgot to put in the order from someone in our party. Not a big deal, it happens sometimes. But instead of apologizing or owning up to it, she just ignored our table for 10 minutes. So one person sat there without food while the rest of us were awkwardly waiting for their dish. Then the waitress finally brings the dish out, and again, no apology or explanation. Finally, at the end of the meal, we were trying to get our check and our waitress was hanging out at the bar texting on her phone. Never looked up or checked in. After 10 minutes of watching her text, I just got up and paid with the bartender. Oh, and to cap it off, the table next to us was ALSO missing a dish. So this same waitress forgot to put in an order on two consecutive tables in the span of like 5 minutes. Seriously, there’s other equally good Italian joints within a one block radius of Provini. It’s not worth the aggravation.

Meh. Went for lunch. Panini had severely undercooked eggplant and the bread was just sad. Entire thing came with a side salad which if we had known we wouldn't have ordered the exact same salad of greens that was on the insalata section of the menu (addition of some baby tomatoes and a few scallions). Skip.

So sorry to discover that the Spaghetti Vongole has gone downhill. Went there two weeks ago and ordered it expecting the dish to live up to the great reputation it has had but something was amiss for me and my companion: the pasta which usually holds the fragrant garlic and clams taste was gone, the portions were small, and the crunchy breadcrumbs lacked all the pizzazz that used to pull all the flavors together. It was soggy. So sad. . . and the price, $27, was what we felt was high-ish for the small portion. No longer my favorite in these parts. Plus although the service is good it now lacks the raw Brooklyn appeal it used to carry in favor of a more affected upscale poser clientele.
