Cozy, indoor and outdoor seating. Not just pizza- the wings are amazing, and the salads are delicious. Great local spot! They also do breakfast sandwiches
I had a really good experience at PDA. Food was delicious, service was great, good playlists and the place it’s really cute. 10/10 Just Go!
Great place, food and atmosphere. The wings are probably in my top 3 ever. Menu very balanced and pizzas with great dough.
Love the sweet potato pizza! Super cute place with immaculate vibes! The arancini balls also had a bit of a kick to them which we loved
Best pizza I have had in years. The crust is unbelievable. Highly recommend not sleeping on the salads.
Ordered white pizza with a simple salad on the side and it was perfect! Ask them for their homemade chili olive oil.
Excellent vegan pies. Crust could be slightly fluffier for my taste but I do think this is one of the best vegan options in Brooklyn (and we have tried many!)
Pretty low key spot. We got the Summer Pizza. It was great! Planning to go back so we can try the other pizzas.
As a local real estate agent I enjoy visiting several food spots in the area and PDA s one of them I came across. The food hits very very well, the cheese pizza my fav. Place is a true GEM
Amazing pizza and roasted veggies. The PDA salad is simple but addictingly good. Secret tip: Get the spicy red calabria chilli sauce. Wowza!!
Great pizza, and creative side dishes. Have a rotating craft beer selection and fantastic service! Plus adorable sidewalk seating.
Fun great spot. Walked in, no reservations and they took us right away. Service with a smile and quick. Pizza was delicious.
The most welcoming team. I’ve never enjoyed such a welcoming group of people and delicious food. Clearly based on a real wood fire oven. Impeccable taste for food and ambiance.
We stumbled across this place on our day of shopping in Brooklyn. What a find! A cosy little restaurant selling authentic Italian pizza and salads. I had Calzone, what a dish! full of flavour that came with a nice tomato sauce dip. The beer was great too, a top notch local Pilsner. Go check it out.
Today, I was meandering around the community on my daily walk. I viewed the menu as I passed and thought I would give it a try. The lamb and beef meatballs were exquisite. The sauce blended with the meatballs to perfection with a dose of cheese. I tried the multi-colored carrots that were tasty and fresh. Topped it off with several glasses of orange wine which added a nice touch. The staff is friendly and professional.
This place has already become our goto classic. I love the short menu: simple but everything is delicious. The ingredients are carefully picked and the pizza dough is crusted in a wood oven. The owner is a very nice guy, he gave us free beers last time!
Walked past PDA today and decided to give it a try. I’m currently breastfeeding and the baby has a cow’s milk & soy allergy so it’s hard to find places to eat. Chef Rob Guimond was there and gave us the time to walk us through the menu and adapt the menu items he could to make sure they were soy and dairy free. The vegan pizza is delicious even without sauce and the salads were all fresh. They just opened in March so please give them some love. You will not be disappointed! We even got some free Jell-O shots out of it!
This place is truly a hidden gem. Despite its multiple write ups the ambience is laid back and casual, the staff and the owner especially are very amicable and accommodating. I like to come here by myself and sit out in the front tables for a few drinks and a late lunch. Every now and again I bring the fam for a pizza night on a special occasion. Did I mention the pizza is by far the best in the neighborhood? And I’m talking park slope and Gowanus combined. Would give 6 stars if I could can’t recommend it enough.
Hidden gem in the slope. Creative menu great food nice and cozy. Wood fired broccoli is a must try.
Good people making fantastic food. The friendly New York vibe they offer here is exactly why I moved to this city. Things to order: brussel and green bean appetizer (you'll lick the plate clean). Pizza's are all good, I love classic pepperoni, veggie and the seasonal special pizzas are good too (love the bacon, curry calzone and the fig one). Have a great selection of nice wine and cocktails. Can't wait to come back soon! xo
I loved this place! The drinks were great and the servers were friendly and enthusiastic. Also, their vegan pizza is quite tasty. I'm excited to go back to try their vegan white pie!
Loved their pizza but the wings were an even bigger star. They're out of this world. Great, kid-friendly place. Will definitely come back.
Amazing apps, lovely staff, and great atmosphere. Weirdly, the pizza was my least favorite thing. Good char, crispy, but overall pretty bland. Sauce was particularly unimpressive. But again, fantastic place overall. Will def come back.
absolutely wonderful staff, warm atmosphere and of course great pizza! Went here on a monday afternoon for a late lunch with a group of 6 and we loved it
Remember when dining out was an experience? That’s part of the essence here. Candlelit, intimate service (get to know your crew!) that feels connected and welcoming. The wings, kale salad, pizza , dessert calzone, all are my favorites. This is a big mind (and heart and flavor!) in a tempered space that is attuned to those who can appreciate the experience. Blessed to have this on the block
If thou could give 6 stars, thine would. Lo, mine experience at PDA hath been most wondrous! Each pizza set afore me hath been of the highest intention and love. The flavors danced upon my tongue of the ARANCINI have been nigh unto heavenly arenas. The crust oh thine pizza was flavor packed and crispy, hath been a most delightful foundation upon which the toppings hath been placed. The sauce, rich and flavourful, hath been most pleasing to thine palate, and the cheese, melted to perfection, hath been a most welcome addition. The service, too, hath been most commendable. The owners art attentive and courteous, and cared to thine needs with the utmost respect and diligence. O let us raise our goblets high, And toast to wings that reach the sky, May they forever grace our table, And bring us joy that's truly able. In truth, I cannot recommend PDA Pizza highly enough. If thou art in search of a most delectable meal, then verily, thou must make thy way to PDA Pizza with all haste. Forsooth, thou shalt not be disappointed!
Great vibes, great pizza. A must try. The best pizza so far I have tried in brooklyn, hands down.
This is our go-to pizza spot! Casual, but sophisticated. Service is excellent! Pizza is amazing. The shashitos are the best in the neighborhood. We love the chill vibe and early 2000’s playlist!
Love this place- food, staff, ambience are all the best! Try the arancini, wings and any veggie dish. Wines are also always on point. Highly recommend to everyone. The staff is THE BEST and the space is so cute.
PDA graciously hosted our rehearsal dinner back in August. We got rave reviews from our guests, and everyone who I contacted was super quick with responses. I also especially appreciated the wine selection!
Simple elegance! This place is the consummate example of letting a few great ingredients stand on their own! The confit wings were sublime! The foundational tomato sauce was delicious. Local Park Slope people, if you don't know about PDA, get out and try them! Great service, delicious food, and prompt, friendly staff!
Small space but the food, drink and staff were great. Id definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.
Really nice place to hang after work. Love the atmosphere and the bathroom tip box and the feet only sink. Also love the blueberry crepe thing - I've never had such a dessert in my life. Got whatever wine the server recommended and it worked out well. The music was really good - chill but fun.
PDA is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and one of the top in NYC. Wine list is on point and I’ve never had a dish I didn’t like. It’s my go-to for whenever friends and family are in town and I hosted my company party this year and LOVED IT. Thank you for existing, PDA, there’s not many left like you.
We were visiting from Australia and were staying across the road. We at here twice because we loved it so much! Fresh home made pasta was so delicious! The service and drinks were amazing, and the outdoor atmosphere was really cute! We loved it!
Very cute, charming spot. We had brunch—the PDA eggs which come with a salad and delicious bread baked on the premises. It’s a small place, and the service is friendly and laid back. I will definitely be back to try the pizza!
10/10 food with 11/10 people 🍕 The staff was very accommodating to our dietary restrictions and even made us wings (that usually fried) in the brick-oven The sauce and jam with the wings was amazing. And the pizzas had the perfect ratio of cheese, sauce, and dough. For dessert, we got the Nutella calzone and loved the cinnamon sugar that’s comes sprinkled on top. It was so delicious. Thank you PDA for a great night!
Really great food, natural wine, beer and cocktails - the meatball pizza and kale caesar salad were really delicious (good subtle anchovy flavor in the dressing). It's a casual, rustic place and the service is great! Plus, red jello shots. Definitely coming here again!
Public Display of Affection is an accurate name for this place. It’s so beyond delicious, I fell in love. We got a cheese calzone (the crust is to die for) and a tomato and mushroom specialty pizza. The flavors were perfect together. They were also accommodating when I needed to swap one of the toppings for something else, due to an allergy. Great vegetarian options too!
We had a lovely dinner date here. Our highlight was certainly the outstanding service! When we arrived our table wasn’t ready for another 15 minutes so we got some wine on the house. And all interactions were fun and friendly. The food was good too - the wood fire flavor really came through nicely ✨
Had a dang blast here. Walked in with a group of seven and snagged a table by the front. Our server was AMAZING and killed running the place by herself. Playlist was on point and food was out of control. Enjoyed a few bottles of wine and some Jell-O shots to celebrate. Loved, loved this place!
This place is an absolute hidden gem and hands-down one of our favorite pizza spots in Brooklyn. We order from here at least once a week, and it never — ever — disappoints. The flavors are consistently incredible, the crust is perfection, and the quality is unmatched. Cannot recommend it more highly — do yourself a favor and check it out!
This place is adorable! I’m a sucker for good curbside seating and PDA has a great outdoor space. The interior is cozy but has a great homey feel and full view of the brick iron oven pumping out pizza after pizza. Note: the bathroom sink is operated by pedal - don’t look for the knobs lol. Ok food: the shoshito peppers came out perfectly charred, the arancini are wonderfully crisp and cheesy with an unexpected yet not overwhelming bite (of spicy). We had the sun gold & oyster mushroom pizza - YUM! Perfectly thin Neapolitan pizza with the perfect layer of toppings to keep it from getting soggy. The no-bake cookies with an espresso top off the meal ideally. Definitely enjoyed this Brooklyn gem, and happen to think the name of this place is brilliant! 🫶
I’ve been three times. Every visit has been great. Exceptional veggie dishes and amazing pizza. Very warm cozy vibes. Will aim to frequent more in 2026
I was passing this place for a quiet some time, but at last had an opportunity to dinner there. It looked bigger from the outside, but it didn't affect my experience. I have read reviews and ordered their famous chicken wings, which were really good. Also, I had a shishito peppers that were very good, too, and the portion was quite generous. I had kale salad, and of course, their pizza. I had white pizza, and I almost singlehandedly finished the whole pie. The service was good too and our waitress was very friendly. The only complaint that I would have thst they better wash their greens, so I it won't have a sand in the salad. But overall, I had a pleasant experience and will be back to try more of their dishes.
Ok it’s a cheat code if you know someone who works at a great place for food & excellent service? Oh well it’s New York, everyone knows someone that knows someone and I so happen to have the best of both when dining at PDA! Great place to meet unique people and occasionally host awesome events. Welcoming family friendly atmosphere and big on community building through their open door mindset!
The Commish pizza, a thin pie with an incredible slightly sweet/slightly spicy sauce, is one my pizza Mt. Rushmore. Pair it with PDA's espresso martini and adult vibes, and have a great time. Its a pretty small joint, but that adds to the intimate nature (I'd be big mad if I couldnt get a seat, but that's yet to happen).
We loved our dinner at PDA! Highly recommend the PDA salad, roasted broccoli, and pizza! Friendly service and nice space too!
We thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Public Display of Affection - the food was excellent. We did the pepperoni pizza, arancini, and meatballs (with focaccia) and each we great. Service was very friendly. We would definitely return and if anything we were surprised that it wasn’t busier given the quality of the food (though it was midday on a summer Friday).
Solid thin-crust, sourdough pizza. A tad too salty. The mozzarella was satisfyingly chewy. $25 for a margherita is a lot, even for NYC, and even the non-alcoholic drinks were all $9+. Had better ambiance than the cheaper places though. You could take a date here.
Overall, it was a nice experience, but not the best. Service: - Servers were mostly attentive and friendly, some seemed rushed and annoyed at us. They were able to seat us inside on a Friday night without reservation. Food came out pretty quickly. We were finishing up our drinks past closing time and the staff wasn't being pushy about us leaving. Food: - Special pie (sausage and caramelized onion): The toppings themselves were delicious. Unfortunately the execution was poorly done. Our pizza was dripping with moisture, maybe from the cheese or something, but the slices were completely wet in the middle so the cheese just slid off when we tried to take the slices. The crust was soggy and it was impossible to eat a slice by hand since it was soaked through. - Vegan red pizza: Surprised at how tasty this was. The sauce was well done, fresh, acidic, tangy, and sweet. Would've loved more of an olive oil drizzle to balance out the sauce but overall great. The crust was perfectly done. Crispy, chewy, and puffy. 4.5/5 Ambience: - We sat inside and it was comfortable. Warm lighting, the music's not blasting or distracting from ambience. You're decently spaced from other tables so you don't feel like you're crammed. You can see the pizza oven from the dining area which is fun too. Price: - For 3 people, we shared 2 pizzas and had 2 drinks each (beer/wine) and it ended up being about $48 each including tax/tip
A cute place with excellent service! The menu is small because you can tell they've thought through every dish. The sangrias were watery but the cocktail was very good. The kale caesar is delicious and cheesy but a bit too salty. However, the lemon zest really cuts through the fattiness and saltiness. The arancini balls are so creamy with a delicious spicy sauce. We got the spicy meatball pizza, which was good overall but the crust was a little soggy.
Very cozy intimate spot with more outdoor seating than indoors. Place is decorated with lots of kitschy knick knacks including a bathroom tip box. Service was fast, like the pasta and Commish pizza. Unfortunately for the BLT pizza the kale was burnt to a crisp detracting from the flavor. Pies were good otherwise.
PDA has some of the best shishito peppers ive ever had. Whatever they put on it is sooo good. Their wings are also really good. I have had their pesto pasta twice and it was great the first time but unsalted the second time. Their pizza is good as well. The only thing i find to be meh is their cocktails. I’d stick to non alcoholic or wine. But definitely a place worth trying and coming back to.
Pros: Friendly staff, tasty food Cons: the music is WAY too loud, it’s impossible to have a conversation unless you yell, totally killed my vibe and me and my date headed elsewhere where we could talk over dinner. This also causes every table around you to have people yelling over each other. A big headache. Also, VERY pricey ($19/ glass of wine)
We had a summer pizza, broccoli, tomatoes, kale caesar salad and some cocktails. None of these were particularly good, better options are available nearby.
The pizza dough is a bit dry and for a plain cheese pie it could use some more sauce and/or more cheese. The wilted spinach was not cooked down all the way and was a bit one-note. Lastly I wish they served the Cesar salad (takeout version) already dressed. Having to massage the dressing into kale, especially dino kale, felt very much like a diy experience. I'm trying to square away our experience with otherwise high ratings. It may have been an off night.
I've had PDA several times. Their pizza started out excellent but has declined in quality in recent months - the white pizza is now soggy in the middle with a brittle crust around the edge, and the veggie pizza hardly has any veggies, with just tiny pieces of chopped up broccoli stems and a couple mushrooms. Not sure what changed but I've given them two recent attempts and have been disappointed both times. Hope they can get back to their former delicious pizza!
There is a reason no one is talking about this place anymore. It is stuck in a mid 2010s time warp. Paramore is playing on the speakers every fourth track. The food is tasty, but nothing exceptional. Avoid the cocktails, they are terrible. If you are looking for a neighborhood eatery, it'll do the trick, but I would not go out of my way to check this place out.
genuinely just too expensive. it’s fine. but $27 for that pizza is wild.
Tomato sauce doesn’t taste right and cheese looks and tastes like melted processed cheese. At least they got the look and thinness right, but no substance. Won’t go back.
Good service from the waiter but the food was such a waste of money. $69 for food that mostly didn't taste good and didn't full me. I felt robbed. It could have easily been $39.
Underwhelming. Limited pizza options and not great pizza. Too many great options nearby to bother coming here again. Updating to add: I just took time to read some of the other reviews and they reek of astroturfing. They have a limited menu, opened during a pandemic, and are at a busy intersection. The inside is nice, but most of the time indoor dining has been closed so how are these people having wonderfully quaint meals?
It looks like this place is generally good, but we had a pretty laughably bad experience. We were the literal only table during brunch, and they forgot 2 things we ordered including an entree. The rest of the party had food for about 15 minutes before we said something, and the waitress literally said, "I keep telling the cook to start making it but they won't". Incredible. Never seen or heard anything like it. Lol
Mediocre food, ironically rude service for a place with affection in the name. I went for the first time a year ago for takeout and was not impressed with the soggy pizza. But I chalked it up to take out. Tried again last month, dine in this time. The hostess was rude to us about walking in with a party of five and told us that we really should have made a reservation despite the restaurant being at most 1/3 full. Then they forgot to put our orders in for a half hour so the food took 45 minutes to arrive. And then the food was super lackluster! You get better pizza at the dollar slice. Or anywhere in park slope. But save your money and don’t go here!
So the booze and food is good. Organic wine, Faccia Britton spirits. Pizza is heavenly. The hostess tho - unpleasant is an understatement. Maybe we were too old to be served here? They def made us feel unwelcome. Don’t really spoil the evening, but I don’t recommend.
Ordered their “vegan red pizza” which had vegan cheese on the photo in Doordash. Pizza came without any cheese at all. Literally red sauce and some garlic on a cracker.
Horrible experience! We had vegan pizza with mushrooms and lemon last night, not to mention how unnecessarily intense lemon taste was, the pizza gave us upset stomach for 24hrs, it’s still really bad while I am typing. Will never ever order anything again from this place
Just ordered from here and had the worst, rudest customer service experience. They sent the wrong side dish and when we phoned to tell them they had screwed up, the guy was flippant, unapologetic, and thoroughly disinterested in fixing the problem. He didn’t seem to have a clue as to how most restaurants tend to react in this kind of situation and wasn’t even asking for our information so he could check our order against their system. Honestly, it just sounded like he was high or something and just didn’t care at all about our experience. To top it all off, we had ordered from them as a special birthday treat - so the disappointment was even more than usual. Will not be ordering from them again.
Idk about the food, but the drinks we had were the WORST drinks we have ever had in our lives. The waitress was literally Googling how to make sangria and an old fashion. Also took her very long to make since she was googling how to make them. Then to pay 35 bucks for two horrible drinks?!
Pizza crust was soggy, Brussels sprouts too salty, owner had a bad attitude and was rude to my sister. There are so many decent pizza shops in NYC, no reason to go here.
This place has really started to go downhill. Sometimes they have good food, but now its just become hit and miss so often that for the price we tend to go somewhere else. I can't help but wonder if this decline is driven by just a focus on money now rather than the food, atmosphere, and customer relations. The decisive experience was when we reserved and then were forced to pay a cancellation fee even though the outdoor table we reserved was not available due to weather. Any business willing to treat repeat customers like that is on a clear path downwards. We won't be back.
Unfortunately, I never got to try their food because they refused to give it to my dasher, he said it’s because he didn’t have a pizza bag, but he had a car. He didn’t speak English, and they kicked him out of the store. They wouldn’t pick up any calls, so I called my dasher and he gave them the phone. They hung up the phone and threw him out again, slamming the door in his face. What kind of “public display of affection” is this?
My friends and I were really looking forward to a dinner here but our friends fell ill the morning of our meal, so we cancelled. Imagine our surprise when we were charged a $150 fee for not showing up to our table! We were told that it’s their policy, as they only have 24 seats and so they did not, apparently, turn over the table to anyone all night and just left it empty. I feel like that’s on them for not allowing walk-ins to sit down when we have already, hours ago, hours before dinner service even began, forfeited our table. I also note that they never called to ask if we were on our way or still coming, indicating that they must have known we were not coming and had cancelled. I suppose they in the future I’ll force my dining companions to show up to dinner even if they are actively vomiting and experiencing the stomach flu, since this restaurant doesn’t understand the concept of keeping service moving and turning tables over once a diner has cancelled their reservation. And if you think that this our fault for having agreed to something in fine print, I would point out to you that that very same fine print says that the restaurant is allowed to waive any and all cancellation fees at their discretion and chose in this instance, despite being given ample notice, to enforce their draconian policy. One may think the world has become more sympathetic to illnesses in this post-pandemic world… one should think again.
I love this space - amazing food and atmosphere. but they've got to fix the door squeak at a painfully high pitch that's been like this for at least four months - management, I'll gladly amend this review once it's fixed! Fully plan on coming back and just want to be able to enjoy my visits without my ears hurting
We ordered 2 pizza pies, 1st with half pepperoni and plain on the other half. 2nd pizza was a special with mushroom and artichoke, gouda cheese with a green sauce. Both pies were overly salted with a burned taste on parts of the pizzas. The other parts were less burned but overly salted. We couldn't find the cheese(gouda) on the 2nd pizza perhaps it was lost in the green sauce. We were definitely disappointed. We also had drink with mezcal that waa a play on a negroni, it was just mezcal on the rocks nothing memorable.
Ordered for pick-up on 3/31/23. Arrived after receiving a notification that my order was ready, but when I got there they had clearly forgotten to prepare the side order. Normally, I would be ok with this, but this was actually the second time this exact issue occurred. I informed the server that this oversight had occurred before and she quickly lied, saying that they hadn't forgotten, but that my order "was still being prepared." This irritated me, as it doesn't take much to see what's happening. I would have preferred an honest apology rather than a poor attempt at saving face. After I got the side, I got back home and opened my order. I think the attached pic of one of the pizzas speaks for itself. I texted them the same picture and requested a refund. But, no response. I worked in the restaurant industry for years so I know that mistakes happen, but it's how a restaurant responds to mistakes that determines whether customers return. I hope management takes their server training more seriously.
I've lived in NYC for over 10 years and have never had a worse experience. Literally dollar pizza is better for hospitality, communication, and a friendly environment. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience left us disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. When we inquired about the "Family Style" menu, the waiter simply replied, "We can talk about it," but never actually explained anything. The lack of communication was frustrating, and we felt like we were being brushed off rather than welcomed. On top of that, the restaurant’s environment was unbearably cold. Granted, we visited in January, but the door kept opening, making the entire space freezing. We had to eat with our winter coats on, which made the meal far from enjoyable. The biggest surprise came with the way the "Family Style" dining was handled. Instead of being an optional way to enjoy the menu, it was mandatory for our large group. Even worse, we weren’t able to select which dishes we wanted. At $50 per person, we expected at least some choice, but instead, we were served an overwhelming amount of food—tons of wings and nine full-size pizzas for a group of nine people. We ended up taking five of them home, which felt extremely wasteful. Overall, between the dismissive staff, poor communication, uncomfortable setting, and excessive (and non-optional) portions, we wouldn’t return. If you're looking for a warm, welcoming dining experience with flexibility in ordering, this is not the place. The Brussels sprouts were very good, the pizza was tasty. We were just excited to try this place, and they treated us like garbage. We wanted to try their whole menu but had to go with a prefix.
