If you're looking for a dining experience that will transport you to the heart of Latin America, look no further, Puertas is where you want to go. From the moment you step inside, you'll be struck by the vibrant artwork and warm, welcoming atmosphere. But it's the food that truly steals the show. I ordered their arroz con pollo and wow! The chicken was cooked perfectly, great sear on the skin and the chicken was flavorful, along with the rice. The staff are some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable around, happy to guide you through the menu and make recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you're a Latin food lover or just looking to branch out and try something new, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

So happy I decided to move forward and have my son's baptism at Puertas. It was a private event for our close family and friends. I'm very thankful for Tiffany who helped me organize such a special day for my baby. Bay Ridge was in desperate need of a Puertas! The vibe, the ambiance, the food and drinks are always so great. My guests were very happy. 10+ plus stars for exceptional service! We can't wait to go back again.

This is now one of our favorite restaurants! The food was delicious with beautiful presentation (especially the branzino and the horchata cocktail), and the staff (Joan our server was 👍👍) superb.

Lovely food and good drinks. Really nice atmosphere and the location was nice too. The food in the area is hit or miss (not everyone should have a restaurant you know) but this place really has something special. Please go here so they don’t ever close!

If you want a dining experience that takes you on a mini vacation this is the perfect spot. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere makes you feel as if you left Nyc. The food and service are top tier. Had an amazing time here, will be coming back. P.S Their Arroz con leche(rice pudding) donuts are A GAME CHANGER!!

I went to Puertas to celebrate my parents 30th year anniversary 😊 great food and service. We all orders the carne asada which was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. We also had the coconut flan which I definitely recommend it was delicious. Also try there cocktails which were yummy. If you need to celebrate a birthday or any important event I definitely recommend you check out puertas 😊

Puertas: A Must-Visit Latin Cuisine Spot If you’re craving Latin cuisine with exceptional service, Puertas is the place to go. From the moment we walked in, Bella, the hostess, greeted us with the sweetest smile, setting the perfect tone for our evening. Our server, Gustavo, was a gem. He was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. His recommendations were spot on, and he ensured we had everything we needed. The drinks at Puertas are amazing. They’re crafted with the quality you'd expect in Manhattan, but at Brooklyn prices. Each cocktail is a delight, thanks to their talented bartender. The food is a fantastic complement to the outstanding service. Every dish is packed with flavor and authenticity, making it a true culinary treat. Overall, Puertas offers a wonderful dining experience. Bella, Gustavo, and the bartender make you feel special, and the food and drinks are top-notch. We’d come back just for the service, but the delicious food is a bonus. Highly recommended!

This restaurant has such a great vibe. Couldn’t have had a better night! The food is EXCELLENT, service top notch, mixed drinks are tasty and creative. We had 5 people and tried a bunch of apps, entrees and drinks. Personally I had the pollo guisado, tamarind and mezcal shots, mango margarita, tried the fried chicken and both the shrimp and chicken empanadas and I honestly don’t have a single complaint! This is a restaurant worth going out of your way for. Will be back!! (I wish I took more photos of the food)

Had brunch here last weekend and have not been able to stop thinking about it. The food was amazing- beautiful presentation. The chef is also vegan trained for anyone interested in that info. The interior was really cool and servers were so sweet. I live in Philly but am ready to make the trip back for round 2!

Had a great experience tonight and definitely recommend: - Owners and workers were all friendly, helpful and on point. - Place was full of patrons, decorated nicely with musical theme, and vibe; Live band plays on wkends. - Food arrivals were perfect, tasted fantastic and we were so full. Had Calamari Fritto to start, Carne Asada (skirt steak) and Ropa Vieja, and ended with Coconut Flan.

PHENOMENAL food. The steak was out of this world & that strawberry daiquiri was heaven sent. The customer service was fantastic & fast. The ambience of Puertas is perfect. Exceptional experience, definitely going to be back with my family.

I visited Puertas today , a new restaurant and Bar in BayRidge Brookyn. I truly enjoyed the food and vibe. Its a hip Puerto Rican Cusine menu. Friendly service and management. Occasionally have dj music playing latin grooves from Salsa, reggaeton, merengue. We tried the empanadas de carne 3 to an order very nicely cooked and presented. For main courses I enjoyed Arroz con pollo ,and a side order of pinto beans also Carne Asada Skirt steak served on a creamy bed of Mash potatoes ,nicely garnished with a chimichurri for dipping . I highly reccomend Puertas on you next Dinner adventure.

Puertas is the newest Latin fusion restasddde. Their menu offers a wide selection of dishes from various Latin American countries with a modern twist. Their sangria is on point. The vibe is rhythmically tropical with the best of salsa music. The wall is decorated with portraits of Salsa’s greatest like Celia Cruz and Oscar de Leon. My wife and I ordered the Carne Asada (skirt steak) and Arroz con Pollo. They were delish. The yuca fries are as banging. Their Tostonemaduro was so-so. Service was great, except they forgot to bring us our empanadas de carne appetizers, for which we ended up canceling it. I made a video reviewing this place on IG: @cybertuo

This was our first time at Puertas, we came with some friends for a little birthday celebration. Everyone LOVED everything from the apps to entrees to dessert (which came with a delish happy birthday flan and sparklers). The owners are an awesome husband and wife duo and the staff made us feel like we were at home with a private chef. I would do doubt go back to this spot and highly recommend to others!! Thank you Puertas for a memorable dinner and birthday !

I never write reviews, but I feel like this restaurant deserves it! The restaurant is so beautiful inside and is the perfect addition to the bay ridge restaurant scene! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and had so much flavor! The churrasco was hands down the best churrasco, I’ve ever had. The arroz con leche donuts were so bomb! Our server, Elizabeth, was very sweet, attentive and made great suggestions! We will def come back here again!

P

Great atmosphere but we waited 1 hour for our food. It was worth waiting because the Cuban sandwich, skirt steak and rice with pernil were out of this world. But I can't wait long for my food again. Especially if you're hungry.

The food was mouth-watering the service was exceptional the owner is extremely accommodating and super sweet and very kind. The dessert was delectable and the service was exceptional I highly recommend the atmosphere is a superior very good vibe. I will be returning for the 3rd time and can't wait to try some new entrees.

We were on our way to another restaurant when we walked past Puertas. I’d just gotten back from a long trip and was craving “home cooking” ie Latin/Caribbean cuisine. We read the Google reviews and decided to give it a try. I won’t make you read a long detailed review - it was excellent. We had the calamari fritto which was fresh and crunchy, the steak empanadas which were rich and delicious. The highlight of the meal was the chuleta (pork chop) for two. A generous portion of food that could have probably fed 3. It was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and the arroz con gandules was scrumptious. Everything we had was great, so fresh, flavorful and prepared with care. They also had my favorite dessert coconut flan and it was as good as I’d hoped. This place is a home run, I highly recommend it! One last thing, it’s really cute inside. Feels like an old school salsa nightclub but designed with today’s clientele in mind. Very authentic and warm. I’ll definitely be back!

Puertas is for everyone. From amazing food, great drinks and the best staff around Brooklyn. The vibe is just right with live music and different DJs all the time. Even if I just pop in for a drink or 2 at the bar I never leave disappointed. There’s no other place in Bay Ridge quite like Puertas. Buen Provecho

Just left this beautiful restaurant on a Wednesday evening. Such a pleasant evening! Gorgeous decor, atmosphere, service and most of all delicious food. Grateful to have a nice alternative to the usual Italian, Greek, Mexican, Chinese and other generic restaurants in the neighborhood. Loved it! Highly recommend Puertas.

My partner and I found this place as we were walking. The minute we entered the door, it was full with Warm Welcomes. We started with empanadas de carne with chimichurri sauce and oh my god, it melted in mouth! Next I had the carne asada, it came with mash potatoes. One of the best carne asadas i have ever ! My partner ordered the salmon and who knew corn/avocado sauce was the best combination for salmon. We were so busy with our food that our drinks were forgotten. But let’s get into this sangria. Smooth and not bitter at all! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! And they fill up your water without you telling them??!! Best service, great food, great vibes

S

My family and I had dinner there last night and we really enjoyed it. I loved the art displayed and colors on the walls. The atmosphere was so cool. The staff were so friendly and food was absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to go back.

-Good quality of ingredients. Everything was fresh and well presented. The menu is a mix of Latin cuisine (Peruvian-Colombian-Ecuadorean-Mexican) -Great portions! our favorite was the ceviche and guacamole for appetizers. -The fish was delicious as well as the bandeja paisa! (the steak can have a bit more flavor, but it was tender) We will come back once they have the liquor license and try a cazuela and the empanadas. - The highlights: For salsa lovers the decoration and music was great! -The servers were attentive and knowledgeable. -Cons: small menu and not bilingual. it will be helpful for Latin customers.

First time there and food was delicious, it was a Saturday so people already had reservations but they were able to take my husband and I. The Pina Colada was FANTASTIC! Food was good portion, Will definitely come back

I had the pleasure of hosting my wife's 40th Birthday Party at Puerta's in Bayridge BK, and "BOY" did I make the right decision. I initially met with Tiffany (the owner), who I must say was an absolute sweetheart. She worked with me on creating a Pre-Fixed menu that included family style appetizers, an Entrée ( 3 different options), and family style desert @$60pp (the arroz con leche donuts changed my life lol!!). The service was "white glove", and all staff members very much accommodating. We were allowed to bring in a Birthday Cake ($2pp serving fee), Balloon Arraignment, and center pieces that I thought complimented the vibe of the restaurant. If you're into Artwork, I promise you'll be amazed by the paintings in the restaurant! All of my guest thought the food was delicious, and I would highly recommend the Carne Asada dish (I substituted the creamy mash with Arroz con Guandules). We were allowed to provide a music playlist which turned what was initially supposed to be a dinner into a party ( a little salsa dancing to burn off calories lol!!). If you're looking for delicious Latin food, comfort/hospitality, I encourage you to visit Puertas! I without a doubt will continue to patronize the establishment! Salud!!

Puertas Restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience that beautifully celebrates Latin culture. The vibrant ambiance, filled with artwork honoring salsa legends like Celia Cruz, immerses you in the heart of Puerto Rican heritage. The food is nothing short of spectacular—authentic, flavorful, and utterly delectable, transporting your taste buds straight to the islands. Their guacamole is hands down the best I've had in Brooklyn. Highly recommend!

Wonderful food, everything my wife and I ate was delicious. Everyone was friendly and informative, my water glass was never left empty, and I really enjoyed the music and decor. The food looked beautiful and was even more delicious. The portions are more than adequate and the drinks are reasonably priced. I have a feeling I'll be back here soon.

V

If you are a man vs. food challenge person, try their Pandeja Paisa! A bit pricey, but for good reason! Skirt steak cooked-to-order, sausage, pork belly, avo, arepa, maduros, rice & beans and an egg. Food is flavorful and plentiful. I sat at the bar and the bartender was hardly behind the bar, so it was like table service. Needs were met. Good everything-latino cuisine place.

My sister insisted we go to this place for my cousin's 50th brunch. I am so glad she insisted. Upon walking in, you get this cozy feeling, and greeted with a smile. The ambiance is great, with awesome paintings of Hispanic singers. Everyone was so accommodating upon walking in. Some of us chose the boozy brunch option, where others ordered specialty cocktails. Either way, one can't go wrong, but the specialty cocktails were delicious. On top of the service and the drinks, the appetizers and main entrees didn't disappoint either. We had the guacamole and tostones, along with a platano waffle. Both were incredible. On to the entree, steak with eggs, arepa and white rice that tasted just like my abuelitas! I can't wait to return to this place!

Puertas Restaurant exceeded all expectations with its impeccable service and delectable dishes. From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly greeted by a waiter he patiently guiding us through the menu, he offered helpful suggestions that enhanced our dining experience. I ordered a medium steak it was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and expertly seasoned. As for the dessert, it was a true delight, leaving us craving more with each bite. It was a great experience that I will eagerly return to time and time again :)!

Exquisite Latin Dining Experience! I recently had the pleasure of dining at this upscale Latin restaurant, and it exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere is elegant, creating the perfect setting for a special evening. The staff is not only attentive but also adds a warm and welcoming touch to the overall experience. Now, let's talk about the food – it's nothing short of exceptional! Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the rich flavors and diverse influences of Latin cuisine. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste is truly commendable. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, everything was impeccable. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines sophistication, friendly service, and outstanding food, this is the place to be. A solid 5-star recommendation!

Classic Nuyorican vibes and delectable cuisine that invigorates your taste buds. The staff was exceptionally responsive (refilling water, tending a spilled beverage, bringing dessert menus, etc.), even with the gigantic graduation party at the middle table. Traditional Puerto Rican fare and music. Gotta go again to sample more of the menu.

I went there today in honor of my late mom on PR Day today. The music, the ambiance (pictures of Tito Puente Celia Cruz, Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe and 33 album records—What?), the friendliness, great service, great quality fresh food was heavenly! It took me back when I was a little girl and my mom cooking authentic Spanish cuisine with the same 33 records playing. I had the avocado starter which was so.fresh and perfectly ripped with radishes and tomatoes, and tostones on the side, slightly salted—Yum!! Then I had their beet, curly carrots and arugula, and a little white cheese salad—so healthy and delicious! Since I wanted the coconut flan, I skipped the entree because I was already getting full! Let me tell you, the flan will NOT disappoint anyone who tries it. Why? Whether you like it soft (as I do) or more like cake (firmer), the flan at La Puerta is right in the middle! The taste—-I have to admit, better than my late mom’s—sorry mom! In fact, the best I ever had! The presentation like no other I have ever seen either. WOW!! Can’t wait to go back!!

I dined at Puertas last night and had a lovely time. It is one of the few upscale Latin fusion restaurants in Bay Ridge, and it absolutely deserves our support. The restaurant, including the bathroom, was clean and sanitary, and I personally observed the staff busily cleaning and clearing tables and common areas. No one lazed about; everyone kept busy. I was eager to try the Empanadas de Carne, as they were a twist on your ordinary empanada. The saffron was palatable, and the aji spices raised the bar on the standard “meat pie” you’d experience at other restaurants. The aji gave them a semi-sweet, but savory, flavor. The drinks were spectacular. They were well-measured, bold, and flavorful. The drink featured in the photo below was their DeLeon Smash, which is a creative variation on a whiskey smash and a Mojito. The fresh mint combined with the Grand Marnier is something I urge you to try. Honestly, my only complaint is the owners haven’t figured out how to make this place a Latin music scene. There was plenty of space to pull out booths, adjust table sizes, and create a stage where Bay Ridge could have a hub of the Latin music scene. The ambiance is a perfect fit, and they can do so much more than serve just great food and drinks. Go visit them.

Another's gem in Bayridge, food was excellent, service was great, definitely will come back again. The great thing is they have a variety of food, Puerto Rican, Mexican,... I should have take a poc to the menu, but it will for next time.

✨⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ If you haven’t been to Puertas Restaurant in Bay Ridge yet, you’re seriously missing out! The food was beyond amazing — every bite packed with flavor — and the drinks? I ate here yesterday for the 1st time. The food was very good. We had, pork, steak, chicken, and shredded beef, guacamole, beet salad and sangria. The only recommendation is to lower the music a little bit. It’s hard to have a conversation when it’s too loud. Besides that everything was great!

J

10 out of 10 highly recommend!! The Food was Delicious very authentic! Drinks were very good strong in a good way! Lol service was fast and friendly. Beautiful atmosphere really captures the feel of puerto Rico. I ordered the skirt steak with the mashed potatoes and chimichurri sauce on top My partner ordered fried pork chop with arroz con gandules. Both very flavorful!

I came here for my pre- birthday dinner. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The decor and ambiance of this restaurant are great. Throughout the restaurant, there are pics of legend latin artists. The menu has a variety of food choices to choose from. I love how the menu has different latin dishes from different countries. The bar is nice and spacious. For drinks, we ordered Coco Cruz, Ruben Blades Rum, and a frozen strawberry margarita. Drinks were nice and strong. Appetizers were delicious. We ordered guacamole with tostones, shrimp ceviche, and Empanadas. I loved how each empanada was shaped differently to distinguish the filling inside. For our main entrees, we ordered the Bandeja Paisa, Ropa Vieja, and Carne Asada. All three dishes were delicious and packed with flavors. For dessert we ordered dairy free tres leche cake and a coconut flan. Both desserts were delicious. Staff came out to sing happy birthday to me. We were brought out free shots. Overall, this place is amazing. The bathroom is kept cleaned. Staff was very attentive and super friendly. We will definitely be returning back. Keep up with them on social media, where they post when they have brunch events or live bands in attendance. Amazing latin restaurant in Bayridge.

I looooove Puertas! We celebrated my mom’s birthday there. Music in great, drinks are so good. 45$ for margaritas unlimited is a bit pricey but still very very good. The food is incredible. 10/10 I recommend. The staff is awesome.

My family and I have been here on multiple occasions and it never disappoints. Menu has changed over time since they opened and we have been able to try so many different things. All super delicious! Waiters, bartenders and staff always have a smile on there face and happy to attend. Let’s not forget the most amazing music that’s playing even on the weekday. Drinks are great and definitely worth the price. Would recommend to everyone for big events or even quick bites. Sharing some pics

My mom and I decided to stop in for brunch here at the newly opened Puertas located right on third avenue. I’ve been following their Instagram for quite some time and we finally decided to try it out! If you think the photos look heavenly; wait till you taste the food! Of course with brunch you start with the drinks; and to set the summer vibes we had the Colada and the Paloma and those hit the spot. Moving onto the food we had the Plantain Waffle, Eggs Benedict (w shredded steak), and then the Calentado Colombiano. Every plate was amazing. The arepas with the eggs benedict worked so well together and I don’t really have the words to describe how much I loved the waffle with the guava sauce. We finished off the meal with Arroz con Leche donuts (If I didn’t eat two full plates I’d probably eat like six of these) Lastly, the staff here are so friendly and accommodating. Everyone who we interacted with was so nice! There’s nothing better than eating good food in an environment that makes you feel so welcome. I’m already looking forward to the next time we visit!

✨⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ If you haven’t been to Puertas Restaurant in Bay Ridge yet, you’re seriously missing out! The food was beyond amazing — every bite packed with flavor — and the drinks? Absolute perfection 🍹🔥 The vibes, the service, the presentation… everything was on point. Definitely a new favorite spot! 💯

Another's gem in Bayridge, food was excellent, service was great, definitely will come back again. The great thing is they have a variety of food, Puerto Rican, Mexican,... I should have take a poc to the menu, but it will for next time.

Took the family out for a late Saturday brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Kids got the chicken sandwich and a waffle and wife and I ordered our own apod and entrees. Service, food, atmosphere were all excellent!

Have eaten here before and loved the food. I bought a gift card for some family members as a Christmas present this week. And let that be a lesson to others that acts of kindness go a long way!

Overall an amazing experience ! Will be returning 😊 always make it a point to stop at puertas for their excellence in service and their attention to their customer. A big fan . Thanks Puertas🫶

The people here maintain standards that others should copy. The workers display decent kindness and clear helpfulness. Every dish demonstrated excellence. They perform their tasks skillfully. I appreciate your attentive service, pleasant staff and wonderful food preparation.

Almost everything is excellent. A suggestion though, unless it is a dance floor, dinner at a table is about speaking to the people at the table. So the music should not be so loud that people at the table are screaming at each other and the waiters barely hear you and you barely hear the waiters. It’s dinner. Otherwise good food and service.

The food and music was great. The bathroom is very clean. Love the portraits of the latin legends. The bartender great drinks. Need more waiters to serve tables. Service is slow, and I never got a dessert menu. Overall a 4. Glad a latin crusine restaurant is open in Bayridge. Best of luck!!!

Made a reservation for 3 on a Tuesday. Upon arrival and during our entire experience there were only 2 additional patrons. Food was decent. Was hoping for a true taste of the island, which didn’t happen. Food needs a little. bit of hispanic love but otherwise good. Ordered a pitcher of red wine sangria and a pina colada. Sangria was not the best one ever had but got the job done. My husband mentioned the pina colada was very good and urged me to taste it and it was! Kudos to the bartender! Service was good, friendly and attentive although he double charged us for a 2nd drink that we never got but was happy to fix the issue. Overall a good experience. Would not run back here but would not exactly cross it off the list. BTW, parking is a bit of a hassle. After all, it is Bay Ridge!!

The restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. The restaurant prepares Spanish/Latin cuisine. I ordered the grilled salmon with sweet potatoes, corn, avocado mousse and pickled red cabbage. The chicken fajitas included red and green peppers, poblano mole, white rice, pico de gallo, frijoles, guacamole and two flour tortillas. The fish empanada was good and shaped like a fish. The restaurant is decorated for the Halloween holiday. Friendly and helpful staff.

We loved fried calamari, so we had to order it twice. Passion fruit mojito was absolutely delicious. Didn't like the guacamole at all, it had this aftertaste like from the store. I am not sure if it was fresh. We felt like shrimp ceviche was not worth it, serving very little plus lots of avocado and tomato, really little shrimp. Love Ropa Vieja ,but was little salty. The pork was great. Service was good, no complaints here. Not sure if we come back, but this is my honest review.

The food was good, But they brought out the food at different times. Drinks were great. They need more servers on Saturday. We waited for a while to get our food. The place is super cute and the food is great. But be prepared to wait for a while to get your food. Drinks are $15+ but they are definitely worth it. We all had different foods and everything was good. There’s only one bathroom for the whole restaurant. Bathroom was very clean. We spent about $45 a person for lunch.

I was taken here for brunch for my birthday. Sadly I didnt like the food. The mini paisa dish the rice has no taste ,the steak was so small it got lost in the plate. For brunch I felt rushed by the waiter. I was having a drink and he wanted everyone to place order at same time meanwhile it was taking long for my appetizer. The plantain cups with chorizo not good either. Please check it out for yourself everyone has a diffrent pallette but its a NO for me and a NO return for me.

Food and atmosphere is good, however, my biggest complaint is how long we had to wait for our food. My partner & I waited 50 minutes for our entrees. I understand this restaurant is new and we went on a busy night, but I couldn’t even enjoy the experience because of how long I had to wait. Mind you we have been here before and same thing happened. We also had a 20 percent gratuity added to our bill??

I had to return 2 dishes out of 3. The chicken tacos were the worst! Bunch of onions, barely fried (very white) chicken, and some parsley on top, tortilla from the grocery next door finished that epic fail. Fried Yuca was non edible at all, it was like paper inside, no flavor, barely cooked.. Empanadas were kind of ok, but also not great. I gave 3 stars for an Awesome passion fruit Michelada from a nice bartender, but that was the most exciting thing about that place, unfortunately.

I came with a party of 2 for my friends birthday. It wasn't busy inside and we were seated right away. The place inside looks awesome. The art is cool the atmosphere is nice. The menu is very selective. I tried ordering a dish of the menu that had steak as the meat and I wanted to switch it to chicken because I don't eat steak. All I got was: The chef said No. I resulted in the shrimp, which I would not recommend. My friend enjoyed his steak dish. And the birthday song part was fun. Flan was more like a custard, but very enjoyable. I probably wouldn't go back. Thank you to the staff and I hope the chef gets nicer.

Puertas has gone downhill. When they first open, they were great but not now. First of, we were the only people in the restaurant and the food took a while to come out. The calamari was not fresh. The burger was soo dry and so was the chicken sandwich. We left hungry. Horrible experience.

I personally dont see where all these “good” reviews are coming from. I came here today to celebrate my mothers birthday. The food was missing a lot of flavor and tasted unseasoned to me. It was just my party and another party present and yet the server, Elias barely gave us attention. We had to consistently get out our chair to walk to him directly to ask for stuff as he sat at the bar with his back turned to us. I then had to ask him for his name so we were able to shout it when we needed attention. Lastly, we asked for tres leches cake with no strawberries on top because my mother is allergic. The cake came out with strawberries. Again we had to get up and hunt him down in the back and let him know of the error. Let alone, the cake came out with a candle that appeared it was already used and prelit before today as there was about an inch candle left. The only positive thing i can say about this place is that the decor and aesthetic is pleasing and the drinks were strong and tasted good. Everything else, was subpar. The experience i had was not worth the price paid. I would not dine here again nor recommend to anyone.

The food was very poorly prepared. The appetizer was too breaded and overcooked. The main courses -Branzino and Pork Chop - the branzino was very poorly prepped, sloppy and should have been cleaner, the pork chop was overcooked, not well trimmed. Bad flat tasting. The waitress stood at the bar talking with the bartender. The bar is not at all stocked. This is not going to survive with such mediocre food and poor service

Yesterday evening was theee Worst experience I have had from a restaurant in Bay Ridge ever! One- the place was frigid like the heat had been turned off all day long. Second-the Host was not welcoming at all.. he looked exhausted and there were Only 5 patrons there. Thirdly-the server was so so incompetent! We gave up. RUN don't walk out of La Puerta as fast as you can! ~Spend your money elsewhere.. We did!

Terrible tasteless food. Service is not good they only pay attention to large parties of people. Carne asado was chewy and not tasty I needed more chimichurri sauce to knock out that harsh meat taste. When I cook steak it’s flavorful their steak was not. My husband said his grilled chicken was bland not spice or taste to it: As local Latinos we wanted to support them but they aren’t cutting it. Real Latin food is known for its spices and unique flavors these traits were absent at the table. Rice and beans was not ur traditional PR or DR style, one tip to the owner don’t fuse Latino flavors, keep authentic plates and you’ll see ur business thrive. For now you guys need to seriously see this or like other bay ridge restaurants your gonna see ur way out sooner than u plan. Please change ur cooks or the recipes. I didn’t not enjoy my expensive dinner neither did my husband or my son. I never like to leave reviews like this but this isn’t the first time I feel like after eating at Puertas.

Let's start with food because come on, it's a restaurant. No bueno. Didn't care for it. I ordered shrimp empanadas. They brought 3 small fish shaped empanads.with acream inside. A blend of shrimp? I haveno idea. Disappointed. Atmosphere, looks nicer from the outside. Maybe with dim light, it can be better but it just something that is not happening/capturing a fun vibe. Staff FRIENDLY and great service. So attentive. Bravo. Main dish, salmon was ok, not wow. Drink,a passion fruit margarita, weak. I'm use to Queens spot, and this is just missing "la chispa",the spark. For those who are not familiar with Spanish food, they maybe ok with it, but I would not be back, or recommend. Sadly. Since there is not much latino in Bayridge/Ft Hamilton.

Let me start out by saying this place was overpriced and waited over an hour to receive our food. This place should be ashamed to serve this food to Puerto Ricans! The rice was dry and broken up n just horrible ( we all left the rice on our plates) , my pork chops were literally black and hard!!!!! Then my friend ordered chicken that’s suppose to be small skinless pieces of fried chicken but instead got 4 large pieces of chicken heavily breaded n also were not good at all. The only that was decent at our table of 4 were the maduros, salad and the chuletta kan kan would have been ok if it weren’t so damn salty!! SUPER salty that my tongue was irritated. Atmosphere is nice but what really made it nice was the music! Other than this it’s once and done for all of us! I guess they are catering to the white people in the neighborhood that don’t know any better. No idea how they have 4 or 5 stars!! Terrible experience !

I’m sadly disappointed, being a fellow Latina, I did not expect to feel so out of place considering I have such a huge following in this community. Tonight we were celebrating my immigrant contractors 39th birthday and never did I expect to feel rushed and unappreciated, They basically kicked us out as we were celebrating our immigrant, Latin contractor’s birthday, he has no one in this country and he was enjoying his small celebration. To be clear, we asked several times what time the closed; didn’t expect to have a vacuum cleaner out on the middle of the floor, or have the owner wiping down seats and moving tables around an hour before closing, while we were still eating.

F
Fred C

Poor service. The waiter kept forgetting the food and drinks we ordered. Not attentive at all. The food was meh. My meal was salty, my daughter's salmon was dry. The tostones were tough with very little flavor. We left disappointed and felt it was a waste of money. There are much better options in Bay Ridge.

Horrible experience ever. Had to call multiple times to if there was going to be live music, which was a hassle (4/25) Every time I called, I was told to call back. I finally get an answer about live music and mad a reservation for 7 people for a birthday celebration. (4/28) The day of the event, the restaurant is pretty small and compact. My table was squished in the middle of two smaller tables of 4. They put a chair at the end of the table, in the middle of the walk way. If was Uncomfortable to sit and have dinner, let alone enjoy music. Before I even arrived, my guest asked if we could change the table because there wouldn’t be enough space and they was told no, that it was reserved. When I arrived, I asked if it was possible to change the table to the booth, which made much more sense I was told no again. They did try to offer a solution, but that required us to wait for another table to be finished, but it’s clear as day that they overbooked. I even asked ahead of time, where will my table be and I was answered that she was unsure because they don’t know how many reservations they’re gonna get…… There was no point for us to stay because the primary reason why we were there was to celebrate a birthday party and we was uncomfortable to even do that so we left. No manager or waiter showed concern. The only people who did show concern was the actual customer at the restaurant, asking us why we left. The workers look like they absolutely did not care, Just overall a horrible experience it all started with the phone call to make a reservation and find out information if there was going to be live music and then the actual service in the restaurant . I would not recommend this place to anyone! Especially if you are going to celebrate a special occasion. We did end up going to Zio Toto and they were friendly and the food was delicious and made a horrible experience much better!

M
Melissa Stucchio

Ate here tonight and not only was my salmon undercooked but a roach crawled out onto the seat near my jacket which completely ruined the experience further. We were going to order dessert but that completely put a nail in the coffin for me.
