The room was comfortable. The linens were exceptional. also the towels were better quality than the Hampton Inn we stayed at in SF. The bed was perfect! Almost like home. The real bagels that they have along with ones you might be more familiar with were worth the effort to cut them open. You can’t beat the location just a 10 minute walk to the R and F. Finally, I saved the best for last. The staff, to a person, were attentive, cooperative and totally accommodating. They were real problem solvers and I felt were focused on customer service first, last and always. Incidentally, if you don’t want the free breakfast there is an exceptional place just 3 blocks away at 15th and 4th called The Common with the most unique breakfast menus I have seen. Went there 4 times and had a different dish each time and if we were there for month, I would have, perhaps worked my way through their menu. It’s that good! We will be back!!
The rooms are small but for the price it was good. Nothing was dirty or looked very outdated. My friends and I were treated nicely and it is a walkable distance from the subway station.
Amazing stay, the room was clean and had all the utilities like coffee machine, fridge, wardrobe etc, the breakfast is served fresh and hot with a good spread. For New York it is a steal deal.
Stayed here prior to cruise out of Brooklyn Pier. Part of my trip was shortened by cancellation of flight by one whole day so I rearranged plans with cousins. So even though that worked out it cut short exploring Brooklyn and was burnt out first day to check out close restaurants. I did too late but with that said the hotel staff was TERRIFIC, the breakfast buffet was adequate, the room was clean and quaint. I would recommend staying there especially if you only need a close hotel to Brooklyn Pier. Isabel and Miriam was wonderful at the front desk. So was the night time agent when I checked in close to 11PM; my apologies for not remembering his name.
Great staff!!! A very child friendly team. Also there is an amazing park 2 blocks away to entertain the kids. Only complaint is the room was smaller than usual and the location isn’t great
Very comfortable beds and polite front desk + housekeeping. I would stay here again considering the price was very reasonable. Breakfast was simple and yummy. Overall clean and well maintained. Good location to the subways and trains! Only note is the awkward bathroom situation. They were two push doors facing the beds (like something walking into a stairwell) and there was no lock.
It was a 2 start hotel but for that it was was super clean and the washroom faucets and toilet flushed very well . It was small size washroom with a bathroom curtain, it lacked the exhaust fan but it was okay and manageable. The breakfast included wasn’t bad . I would give this a 4 star for clean and devices all working . Many 4-5 stars have this issue of faucets and toilet flush clogging . Overall we had a wonderful stay. Staff were nice and the subway was close by .
Excellent location, room service and clean very nice. Due to wind or other door closing some time our room door was shaking, but over all its excellent. Breakfast was very good and staff at kitchen providing their best to fill the dishes.
Rooms were very clean, housekeeping staff friendly and without asking kept our rooms clean with beds made and fresh towels. Breakfast okay, the area clean and they continued to replenish throughout the time. The hotel was full according to front desk but I experienced no noise at all!! The entire common areas were kept clean and I felt safe throughout my stay. It is walking distance to all transportation. My reason for 4/5 is because we arrived at 11am and asked if my 2 rooms could be on the same floor. There was 2 adult and 3 children. We traveled from Florida and Canada. The front desk said she had alot of checkout and would. We returned at 4pm and she had us on completely different floors and said "oh well" when I asked her why she didn't put us on same floor. I lived and worked in hospitality in the UK for 13 years so I knew she could have done it. I also know that a small disappointment in my stay doesn't warrant the entire staff and stay to get a low score!! However I will not be staying here when we return to NYC for our next trip.
Concierge could be a bit more nicer. Breakfast area was tiny and too tight with no room to move around. The breakfast staff woman was helpful. Overall I give this hotel a 3.5 maybe 4 stars.
Stayed at three different hotels during my two week vacation and this was functionally the best one we stayed at, though I gave it an average review. Compared to the first hotel we stayed at, we have very good space as it was much more open. The second hotel we stayed at had comparable space, but included a couch which made it a bit more cluttered but it felt like a more cozy space. What was lacking compared to the other two hotels, were bedroom microwaves. If you wanted to warm things up, you had to leave your room and go to the first floor eating area. Where you get complimentary breakfast. I only tried complimentary breakfast once and want impressed to go looking for it again during my 5 day stay. The second hotel I stayed at actually had better variety for breakfast items. La Quinta had the most functional bathroom compared to the other two hotels. The first hotel had a bathroom small enough for me to consider it a booth. The standing shower had a leak some where that cause the floor to get wet through the shower glass. The second hotel had better space but also had a leak through the shower glass, causing the floor to get wet. La Quinta had a traditional tub and shower curtain; No leaks to worry about. It also had consistent hot water. The second hotel was 16 stories tall with a lot of people competing for hot water where the water heater struggled to keep up. Compared to the second hotel, there was no long wait times at the elevator as La Quinta only has 5 floors. My favorite thing about LA Quinta, was the trouble free parking. I was able to find a place just a couple of feet from the building. They offer paid parking as well if you want to have convenience of not hunting for parking. The other two hotels made parking a chore if you did pay for parking. This made you have to walk a few blocks to get to your car just to save a couple hundred dollars.
From the beginning I was excited to get there. The room is smaller compared to Wyndham standard. The bathroom is too small but the online service assistants was warm and warmer compared to what I get online. The tv wasn't even an update
Overall poor experience. Stayed for 3 nights from a Saturday to Monday in a 2 double bed room. Room service came once at 8 am while we were still sleeping and never came back. Never brought more towels or toiletries during the entire stay. Room key stopped working 3 different times and we had to get a new one. Room is small and I question if the beds were actually doubles. We requested 2 pillows every night to which they said they would bring them but never did. When I finally walked down to personally ask for them, they said they were all out in the entire hotel. Asked for a wine opener, they said they had one but couldn’t find it. Room not the cleanest upon arrival. Great location tho and the complimentary breakfast was lack luster but appreciated. If you bring wine, get a twist off. And if you need pillows bring them yourself.
I honestly would not recommend staying here. I ended up in a room in the basement (despite checking a “guaranteed upper level room” box when checking in), and it smelled so strongly of urine/ammonia. I brought up my concern to the front desk, who had housekeeping spray some Febreeze, which did help. The rooms were small but the beds were super comfortable! It’s okay in a pinch but I did not love the experience for how much I paid :( They did have real, fresh bagels in the mornings, which was a nice touch!
Check in time is 3pm, we got there at 5:30pm but our room wasn’t ready. Front desk clerk asked us to wait 5 minutes but it took 20 minutes for him to tell us to go up to the room, but the room wasn’t still ready yet. When we got in the room, there were hairs on the bed. The room was so tiny, bathroom is so small doesn’t even have a proper door or lock. The breakfast room is tiny as well. Do not recommend this place with a family. There was weed smell in the hallways and elevator.
Be very careful when booking. During booking, you’re required to enter vehicle information, which gives the impression that parking is included. Upon arrival, I was informed that convenient parking costs an additional $45. While street parking may be available, this is not clearly disclosed. I was initially placed in Room 311, where the bathroom smelled strongly of urine. Later in the evening, the entire third floor smelled heavily of marijuana despite the hotel being advertised as non-smoking. Guest behavior throughout the hotel was also concerning, including visible intoxication. After reporting the issue, I was moved to Room 412, which was clearly not cleaned — unmade bed, unchanged sheets, and visible disorder. Staff sent someone to verify my complaint even though the condition was obvious and documented with photos. I was eventually moved again to Room 506, but this entire process occurred around 11:30 PM–12:00 AM. There is no microwave available in the room, and no accessible option was provided to heat food. When I requested management contact information, staff refused to provide a name or phone number, stating the manager is “barely there,” offering only an email. A refund was only offered if I checked out at midnight. Very poorly handled experience. Posting so others can make an informed decision.
On my 2 day I requested room service I was completely ignored and the breakfast was horrible no eggs and or milk for the cereal that's not a continental breakfast, people also touching the food with their hands and coughing all over the food very disgusting. I left the hotel 3 days before time and lost my money because I prepaid, I don't recommend anyone to stay in this place, I should not have to put any ⭐ for this location but it won't allow me to post anything I give it a zero.
If i could give it less than 1 I would. The only positive is is it is about a 10 minute walk from the nearest subway. Rooms are small, dated and generally lacking, in our case beds. No plug in the bath to be able to have a bath even. Oh and if you need a room for 4 people you need to arrange this! Who'd have thought 4 people would require more than one bed! Sleeping on the floor like a dog the first night, and now on a fold up bed for the remainder of the holiday after hassling for it (only one in the hotel). Rearranged the hotel room ourselves to accommodate it. Breakfast is a joke, probably 6 chairs in total for 4 tables, not a massive amount to choose from. Ended up taking food if you could get to anything back to the room. If it wasn't for the fact we have been out all day I would be even angrier than I am now.
By all means, save your money and do not stay at this place. I originally booked for this place in prior to check-in. I was told to pay Over the phone after selecting to pay at the property. I checked the room prior to check-in because I noticed some sketchy looking windows outside of the building. After viewing the room in the building, I was totally dissatisfied and Misleading by the photos that they posted it is nothing like it actually is. I told the front desk lady and I stayed at another hotel. I was charged for two nights and she check me in anyway After I made it clear, I was not staying at this hotel. Then I called about the payment issue and they are lying saying that I checked in for one day and I stayed for one day. Even if they were true, which is not, I was still charged for two days. This place is money, hungry, and fraudulent. Don’t even waste your time.
Upon arriving at this hotel, my guest and I were moved from the room I reserved (2 bed) to a one bedroom. It had already been done. I made my complaint to management, was told it would be taken care of and management would make it right. That never happened. Beware of staying in this hotel!!!!
