The best falafel, rice and salad I’ve had in the US! I always get a falafel plate without the red cabbage and with extra rice, and the falafel is cooked really well. I tried their cauliflower pita once too and that was really good as well, though I still like to stick to my falafel order. The customer service is also phenomenal :)
Honestly, a must try of BK if you like any form of eggplant, falafel, fries, etc. Even if it’s just for the eggplant, it’s so worth it. Their marinade is insanely good. The stuff I’ve tried there includes the shawafel pita (chicken shawarma + falafel) with red cabbage, tahini, and hummus. Excellent and the falafel is actually crispy, and the chicken shawarma isn’t overly greasy. Fries have great seasoning, as is the sauce. Shawarma on its own is fine but I feel the other menu items shine more; I think their seasoning on it should match the level of the rest. The staff also deserve a shoutout. They’re so friendly and the two owners that I’ve encountered in the store are super humble and chill. I’d love this place to have more locations because their quality deserves its success.
first time ordering tonight while i'm babysitting around the corner...i ordered the falafel pita and added on a side of rice. probably the best falafel i've had in a ver long time! the flavors and portions are on point!
Yummie! We ordered delivery from this restaurant - what a find! The falafel, chicken and stuffed vine leaves were delicious. The hummus is what dreams are made of. We are definitely ordering more soon.
I found this place after a day at the gardens, the food was incredible and the space was cozy. We did a sampler combination and as person who grew up in a house with ethnic food featured on the menu, I can vouch for its accuracy. The limonana is actually fresh-squeezed! I'd go again and have sent pals in the direction of this place since.
Always really fresh and great food! I had eaten awhile ago at their old location and was so excited to see they moved closer to me. The grape leaves and falafel platter are my go tos
The place is in very busy area (kind of) the food quality is no questions at all place is small and you sit with laptops or devices not too busy. Service is quick very friendly especially the African lady the white guy little bit too pushy but overall experience is worth it strawberry banana smoothie is ice on the cake for this place
Shutup and eat! (But first lemme take a pic of my food 😁). Fresh, plant-focused foods. Tried the Israeli breakfast and salad sampler. Brings back fond memories of classic Israeli breakfasts 🤤 Friendly service and pleasant ambience. Will be going back!
The food is yummy and customer service is 100%. I can’t tell you how nany times I’ve dined in or ordered for pick up but, one thing for sure, I’ve always been satisfied. A+ , 5 ⭐️, 💯, 🙌🏾, 👏🏽, 👍🏾
This is hands down my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Brooklyn. The service is impeccable and the food is Always delicious. It's a small neighborhood restaurant and the owner is there everyday working just as hard as his employees.
Delicious Israeli food. The eggplant is the best eggplant I have ever had. The flavors and seasoning of the dishes is incredible and simple. I take all my visitors here and they have all raved about the food. The food is filling but light and does not leave you feeling stuffed. I highly recommend.
Incredible service and delicious food. I’ve ordered a bunch of times and have always been pleased. Last night I “made the mistake” of ordering not realizing there would be a long wait (my bad). Because it was near closing time, I called to confirm that the food would still be delivered and, not only was I assured that it would be - which it was and it was delicious - the quality of service was exceptional. You can tell this place is not just a business, it’s an endeavor of love and I hope it remains a huge success for a long time. Kudos, Kulushkat!
The absolute best falafel I have ever had! All of their ingredients are always so fresh and delicious! The pita and hummus are also incredible. I have loved everything I have ever tried from here! One of my favorite go-to spots in Brooklyn!
Excellent food and great customer service. Fresh ingredients and with nice flavor. My only complaint is that they are now only open at 4 PM and not earlier, so can't grab food there for lunch (I work at a medical center nearby). Please please open for lunch also !
Delicious food, they are doing take out only due to the pandemic but it was all very good. The portions are all very good for the price point and each entree comes with a pita and hummus unless you get the pita sandwich. You can even choose between white or whole wheat!! Love!! I will be returning soon.
We loved our meal! All 5 of us— 3 kids and 2 adults! Food for the whole family! The incredibly friendly and accommodating staff made sure to talk me through any potential allergens for my highly sensitive kids, and then my kids inhaled the chicken kebabs, merguez sausage, the rice, even the spicy french fries! My husband and I loved the chicken shawarma sandwiches. Thank you so much!
I don’t know why this place doesn’t have closer to five stars. First, the falafel is out of this world. The texture is unlike any falafel I’ve had, it’s sort of…crispy? Much lighter and more herby than I would have expected. Huge and filling portions of everything. In hindsight I could’ve shared the larger plate but it made for a great lunch the next day. Great place in the neighborhood.
The best! Great people and great food.
Delicious food. We ordered the falafel plate and the chicken shawarma plate and both were super good. We ordered delivery and the pita was still warm. Also ordered directly from the restaurant and their web interface was very easy to use. Check it out!
Been on my list of places to try and was around the area and so glad I went! Once we got there, scanned the QR code to order online and waited at the tables. The service was great, offered us a cup of water and refilled once our food came. Got the falafel plate and my partner got the chicken shawarma sandwich. Asked for hot sauce and got a full container, which packed just the right amount of kick. 🔥 cleaned up the whole plate! Filled up our appetite perfectly! 💯
Oh my god! I ordered this last minute before they closed tonight, I felt bad, but I’m so happy I hit send order. The veggie options I received were so delicious and fresh and the schwarma, too. The staff called and said they ran out of hummus *gutted* but they subbed in another option and *heaven*. I think they stayed late for me and i appreciated it bc this helped clear a sour stomach. Thank you!!
Got the chicken shawarma and falafel plate for takeout. The amount of food was incredible and delicious. Would definitely recommend again. If you can’t handle spicy, don’t get the spiced French fries.
Great Mediterranean spot! Their $17 for 3 apps is a deal. Pita bread was extremely soft and warm, hummus was delicious. Also, their sangria is very good. Waitress was very friendly. Honestly, no complaints - this place is great.
OMG, this food is so good, well prepared and packed! $5 for French fries, what? Don't freak out, you get a WHOLE bag of fries. More than worth the cost. I working my way around the menu and loving everything I've ordered those far. Take a chance on this really great Meterranean Cuisine.
Delicioussssssss. I order from here all the time. The food is really yummy and great portions. I get the falafel sandwich and grape leaves usually. Their baklava is soo yummy too! Customer service is always friendly. Support your neighborhood restaurants
By far one of the best chicken Shawarma in the city. Great food and friendly staff. Any time we have some visit from outside of the city this is one of the first places we take them
Food was amazing. Got the chicken shawarma platter and it was delicious ! The service was so fast and easy, the person got the food ready for us as we were a bit early to pick it up. Amazing fresh ingredients and spotless service. Highly recommend !!!!
I had a great experience here on a nice Sunday afternoon post-run. Wait staff was really helpful with menu suggestions and further detailing any items on the menu we wanted further clarification on. I got the chicken shwarma + falafel combination in a whole wheat pita. It was perfect balance of crunch from the vegetables and falafel, tender, soft bites of chicken shwarma and braised onions, and creaminess from the sauce. I would definitely come back again for a post-workout meal because it is so close to Prospect Park and provides the right nutrients I need after an intense run.
Exceptional tahini sauce. Hummus is also really good w generous portion sizes.
Remarkably tasty. Cheerful mood throughout. I never get tired of this place. Their service approach was superior. This spot handles every detail well.
I hate when a restaurants review have nothing to do with the food or service!! Most of the 1 star reviews for this place are courrier related. My food arrived promptly and is delicious!!!
This place is a gem in the neighborhood! We’ve been ordering from them for years and going there occasionally and truly, from the food to the service it’s always been consistently great. Don’t believe the bad reviews… I believe they have ulterior motives…
Incredible neighborhood spot- such nourishing, delicious food in a low key setting. We love being regulars dining in and for takeout. Thank you ♡
The food here is SO amazing!! Highly recommend the falafel plate or the eggplant sandwich. Everyone who works here is super kind as well.
I can't say much about the atmosphere since I've never been in person but I've ordered delivery from here more than 5 times and it's always really fresh and tastes amazing. Definitely a go to for gyro/pita sandwiches. The desserts and drinks are also great! As for delivery, everything has always arrived still warm and within whatever time frame they estimate me.
My daughter recently moved into the neighborhood and had ordered food from Kulushkat several nights ago. She enjoyed it so much that she suggested my husband and I join her to go there together. We were very pleased. The food was delicious! We had the hummus and lebneh to start. My daughter and I ordered the chicken shawarma, which was delicious. It was served on top of flavorful rice, a salad with a zesty lemon dressing and a side of red cabbage which rounded the dish off nicely, My husband ordered the falafel pita sandwich. He loved it. Besides the food being so delicious, everyone at the restaurant was super-friendly and attentive. We feel so lucky that we found this gem and will be visiting Kulushkat often!
Best falafel I’ve had in a long time. Ordered the pita and appreciated how evenly distributed it was between falafel and cabbage. Hot sauce is 🔥. Can’t wait to try out the other items.
I love this place. The food is always fresh and the service is always great. The Eggplant sandwich is probably my favorite sandwich in all of NYC. Maybe ever. It's so good. I keep wanting to order the falafel which is also very good, I really do, but I can't NOT order the Eggplant sandwich. Highly recommend if you're looking for a healthy and fresh meal when in the area.
I have dined at Kulushkat since they’ve opened in my neighborhood and they continue to satisfy and impress me every time. The food is delicious and the service is warm and friendly. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. Kulushkat is consistently delicious and in my opinion, the best restaurant in the Prospect Lefferts Garden neighborhood.
Delicious food. Both the falafel pita and chumus are super fresh. Nice service. Small spot but works.
An amazing neighborhood spot that has life-changing hummus that puts all other hummus to shame. Delivery has always been accurate and on time without issues. I love their falafel, but the sides are so fresh as well - it tastes like actual REAL food and you can tell it was made with care and love. You can’t go wrong here!!
My partner Tracy and I got to finally to try this spot in the area and I must say the food was impressive. I got the mixed grill plate and everything was absolutely cooked perfectly. It was flavorful and not dry. The hummus and tahini were amazing. I believe the owner Yadin (I hope, I didnt butcher the spelling) also gave us home made hot sauce and it was great. You can tell he takes great passion in what comes out of that kitchen. I will say if you expect a quick bite or a grab and go then this is not the place. The food was made to order with great flavors and ingredients. Patience is a virtue with this spot but definitely worth it. Would easily recommend and come back. Glad to know this is in the area.
Everything I've ever tried is great but the falafel sandwich + fries is unbelievable! Possibly the best falafel, ever. Also, definitely get the skhug sauce on the side. It's v hot and v tasty.
Bangin’ pita bread and best tahini sauce that goes on everything. If you’re a meat eater the mixed grill is flavorful or vegetarian curious, try the eggplant wrap… ah-mazing!
The restaurant sets high standards. The food quality and service level were outstanding. Kulushkat keeps me coming through their doors. Their kitchen maintains consistency. The cooking showed skill and staff showed care.
Their hummus will elevate your idea of hummus and ruin grocery store brands forever because it is sooo good! Beyond hummus their grilled meats are so flavorful and one of my faves is the eggplant pita. You can’t beat the fresh bread, we always order extra. The food travels well, unlike French fries, so delivery is great. The staff is always kind. This is Moroccan Food, for the people geographically challenged, Morocco lies on the Mediterranean. I digress. So, I even catered my holiday party with them last year with people raving that I need to have it again this year.
We were there on a Wednesday night and we're the only ones dining in (though there were plenty of delivery pickups). Service was excellent and attentive. The vibes were impeccable. The hummus was silky smooth and rich with tahini and the pita was thick, fluffy and warm. My friend ordered the beef & lamb kebab, and it was stunning. It's a mix of minced breast with spices, but the Moroccan roots are strong. The texture and flavor reminded me very much of kebabs I had in Fes. I ordered the salad sampler. The red cabbage salad was very well dressed and yummy. The Eggplant a la Yufa was every but as good as I had hoped - it managed to be lightly charred and soft whole also sliced thin and attractively presented. The chopped salad was simple buy very fresh. And then the pickles were just sliced arabic pickles, and they ended up actually complementing my friend's kebabs particularly well. We both cleared our plates and had a wonderful time in process.
Walked in and thought we were at the wrong place. It’s a super small shop with an open kitchen. Food was excellent, everything tasted incredibly fresh and you could tell it was being made right then and there from the salads to the meat. Mon-Thur they also had a 20% off for dine in. 10/10 would go back for meat platter and salad
The most wonderful experience today. I showed up with my hungry visiting family and although they were still 30 min from opening, the owner and chef did his best to get us set up outside in the lovely outdoor area as soon as possible. The friendly chef/owner personally took our orders and was so helpful in helping every person get what they wanted. Everything we ordered was spectacular, and very generous portions too. We got the chicken shawarma platter, 2 sabikh/borekka orders, a falafel pita, shakshuka with merguez and a side of cheese borekas. All were amazing and I would easily order any of them again, and the various members of the group who are pickier were also happy, a miracle. I eat a lot of Mediterranean food so was expecting something more standard, but the chef did some fun spins on the traditional and really excelled. Flavors and quality all exceeded expectations, and in a pleasant atmosphere with the best service. I don't live nearby, but definitely plan on making a special trip to come back. Thank you once again for being so helpful and accommodating and for making such wonderful food!!
Ordered some chicken skewers for pickup and the food was fantastic. I can't remember the last time I had such big white meat skewers that weren't dry. I love how it was flavorful but not too salty. You definitely get a lot of food. The cucumber salad was on the salty side. Looked like there was several tables in a cute outdoor space on the street as well.
Not sure if it’s just me, or Kulushkat dropped its standards a bit. This was the first time at the park slope location- we had been fans of the Dean st location, esp the spinach falafels. This place did not serve spinach falafels. The food we tried was fresh, tasted good, including the mint lemonade. The baklava which we had to-go was a disaster- it was quite evident that it had been sitting around for quite a while- it was stale at best, we took one bite and trashed the rest. Disappointed a bit as I live for dessert😳
It's pretty much only takeout this time of year, but well worth it. The food was spectacular, well seasoned, and spicy (when advertised as such). I'll definitely be going back really soon!
My falafel platter was really tasty, including the veggie sides. The only thing that was a little off was my rice (way overcooked). The rest of the plate and the very friendly service made up for it, though.
The food is quite good. It is really hard to get those salads right- the right flavors and the right balance- but they do. Excellent preparations from a team that really cares. What comes with that, though, is a degree of unreliability. Timing, stock- it might be 90 minutes, not 45, for your order to be ready. And only three-fourths of what you ordered might be available. The three-fourths in twice the time can be worth it if you have the right expectations. Next time I order from them I will have the right expectations. I hope you will too.
This spot is typically really good. I’ve eaten about 6 times. Falafel sandwiches are great, so are the dips, the fries, grape leaves, shawarma pita. Once I ordered the burekas and they seemed as if they’d been reheated from frozen, cold inside. Also not a fan of having to order from my phone… but these are weird times. All in all, a good local go-to. People who run it are very nice too.
I love this spot, it's one of the better falafel joints in the city and certainly the best locally. I typically get a classic falafel or a plate and they're both delicious. The hot sauce they make in house is really good too and worth the $.50 charge. My biggest problem though is the way they serve fries for take out/delivery and the only reason they lose one star. 7 or 8 out of 10 times, they are soggy or not what I ordered (i order seasoned, they come not even salted). So I don't order fries any more. But the eggplant stuff they make is the bomb and it comes in the classic falafel or as a side and it's really good. Friendly staff as well, always have a nice chat with whomever is working that night.
It is a tiny artfully decorated little restaurant which serves fresh delicious Mediterranean food. Their aubergine side was a delicious mix of delicate sweet and sour notes. The grilled chicken skewers were cut a little too big for my liking but had the right amount of cayenne in them. Their breads are fresh and straight out of the oven. It is a must try place for adventurous foodies!
I was cold and hungry and saw a sign over the door that said "FALAFEL." I went inside and they were bumping some serious grooves. The falafel was very well seasoned and had marinated eggplant which deepened the mix w a rich umami. Their spiced french fries had a punchy kick. The grooves never stopped. Everyone was in a good mood. Wait time could be better.
I order takeout often. The food is always great. I’ve never eaten in the restaurant. It’s a small cozy space, looks fine and they’re always playing good music, I just prefer takeout since I’m around the corner and usually solo. I do think they get tons of delivery orders and wait times tend to be a bit long but I just factor that in when I order. I think if you’re eating in they probably would prioritize your order but don’t really know.
I wanted to try something different from what I usually order out for delivery. This hit the spot. Stuffed grape leaves were nice and fresh. The beet salad was also fresh and tasted good as well. Loved the humus and tahini sauce, which added a nice flavor to the chicken swarma plate. Only criticism is there wasn't enough rice. However, food is very tasty, and I would reorder these food items again.
The food is absolutely delicious, and looks and smells worth the time it takes to make it, and it’s just too bad that the service is so unreliable. Got $50 worth of food for the picnic at the park nearby , didn’t check the bag, and once in the park found part of the order missing, and no utensils. Had to trek back, and by the time I got everything it was all cold and no longer enjoyable. By all means get their food, but always check to make sure you have everything.
Falafel was more a cabbage sandwich with way too much tahini. If you charge $5 for lemon/water/sugar better fill up the cup.
I give a three-star to this place because even though their food is absolutely delicious, it is not a dine-in place. No restroom inside, and the wait takes forever because, since you have to order online, you have to wait for all the delivery and pickup orders that are first. This makes the waiting time for your food of at least an hour. My suggestion is to order online for delivery! As I said, their food is 100% recommended, and I have been ordering from here for the past almost two years.
Friendly, accommodating staff and great variety in menu but 2 stars docked for two things that were lacking. One, the bathroom wasn't the best and the general cleanliness wasn't on point. Two, the falafel seemed like it was kind of raw on the inside and the meat in the Schwafel was sort of dry- not the kind of meat you think shawarma should be. Otherwise, a very promising place and I hope the next time, at least the food gets better.
As some other reviews noted, delivery time was longer than it probably should’ve been. Food was delicious though. It must be noted that the “seasoned fries” are hotter than buffalo wings, I’m sweating as I type this.
We have loved the food from this restaurant for a very long time but their continual relationship with Caviar and DoorDash will never make up for good food. Tonight we ordered two chicken shawarma platters and a falafel at 8:10pm and we’re given a delivery time of 9:15pm. From there it was pushed farther and farther back till it hit 10pm. I contacted the restaurant at 9:30pm and was told that a dasher picked it up 30 minutes ago - accept the dasher assigner on Caviar said they were still waiting for the order and some other dasher picked it up. I was reassured by Caviar customer service that the order was still on the way. At 9:50pm my order was cancelled - 1 hour and 40 minutes after the order was placed. The restaurant didn’t apologize and washed their hands. It may not be your company but you choose to work with these delivery services.
I really wanted to like this place given the reviews, but the pita sandwiches we got were beyond underwhelming. There were so so many bright ingredients and it looked good, but the taste was very bland, like salt had been forgotten.
Food is decent with generous portions, service is nice. And it’s always busy. Unfortunately when trying the place yesterday for the first time we found a long black hair in one of the hummus/sauce take out bowls :( I really wanted to like the place - it’s a few blocks from my house and I know these things can happen - but I’m too grossed out by that experience to return.
Food was not good. Hummus did not taste right. The rice was a light vs a darker yellow like usual and there was no salt on the chicken. Just a very unflavorful dish for the expensive price.
Ordered delivery. Took more than an hour which is odd because I live 10 minutes away. Got the mixed grilled platter which was good. But hummus was weird. Was weirdly watery and liquid and tasted like chalk? Very odd and difficult to eat. $8 for an extra side of two tiny meat sausages (slightly bigger than a breakfast sausage link) was disappointing. The pita was the only redeeming quality, the pita was good.
I dont know why this place has such high rating. I ordered takeout. Everything was bland. Falafel had a weird flavor like the oil used to fry them was rancid. Hummus had a chalky texture. But mainly everything was horribly bland!
This restaurant staff behaviour so rude, they use bad word with online delivery man. They are taken too much time for every online delivery. They make discrimination with online delivery man and general people. That felling was so disgusted.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! This place is a joke. I wish I could give this place zero stars... The worst customer service! My shepherds salad had a spice in it that burned my throat .I asked the waiter for a replacement he said no... (By the way, I only had two spoons) I asked for it to be taken off the check, he said no! My friends French fries were also uneatable. Never going back here again. PLEASE NOTE THERE FOOD LOOKS NOTHING LIKE WHAT THEY HAVE POSTED ON THEIR WEBSITE.
Staff behavior so rude with every online delivery. They are taking too long time for online delivery. They make different level with online delivery man and general people. That behavior is so disgusting.
This place is awful. Definitely not sanitary. Hummus was bad. Beware positive order reviews are probably lies. — I was gonna leave out the the cook was rude and served multiple people who came after me but decided to leave it out cause maybe he was having a bad day— But since he decided to bring it up he also appears to be a homophobe who not only makes bad food but serves it with prejudice
Was incredibly disappointed with our order from here. I ordered the schwarma platter, with falafel and feta. The falafel was stone cold, and tasteless. The schwarma was cooked chicken cut up, and rubbed with what tasted like curry powder and salt. My wife ordered the zatar pita, and the kabob pita. The pita on both were stale, and the kabob, wasn't kabob, but tasted more like kaftah. The salad, and rice, and cabbage all was rather bland also. The only thing I can't that was any good was the hummus. It was edible. Sadly the rest of the meal was not.
This review is for one person only. The person on the phone on November 9th 2022. They were dismissive and lied. I never once received a notice my food would be late. It was already an hour delivery window. And when I called after 1:20 they lied and said I had been notified in the app(seamless). I had not. When I hung up I got a notification finally that my food would be late. I don’t care if it’s late. It happens. I told the delivery guy I was thankful for him and tipped extra. But the person on the phone intentionally lied to make it easier for them. Update. They keep lying about their delivery windows. I have officially withdrawn from wanting to eat here anymore. Food is always 4+ stars. Delivery is a minus 1
Ordered online and when I arrived I was informed that my order was given away to someone else with the same name... There wasn't any apology, and I was informed I would need to wait another 5 minutes for my order. Not a big deal, but then it turned out to be a 20 minute wait for my food outside in the sun, without any offer of water. After the wait there was no apology for the delay, no comped items, the guy didn't really seem to care. I also pre-paid a nice tip which I regret now. Food was pretty good, service was bad. [Editing based on the reply from the restaurant] the fact that you’re lying in a reply to this review is just sad. I’m lowering my original 2 star to 1. At the very least be honest.
Do not order from here unless you want to wait for over 2 hours and receive cold food. Food never delivered on time. Not once. It gets to the point where the time just keeps increasing. Calling the restaurant for an ETA just gives you false hope and makes you wait over an additional hour. By the time the food arrives it’s cold soggy and inedible. The delivery is less than 1 mile away and still takes hours. Never again.
The food was mediocre, and it took forever to get our food. Then when we had leftovers and asked for a box, they did not want to give us their largest plastic to go container claiming it was too expensive and wanted to give us a small plastic tub instead. The owner did not want to give a plastic to go container that was two pennies more to save money. Everything was served on paper plates and plastic cups. Would not recommend this place. Strange.
