The place is immaculately designed. I felt comfortable the whole time and the drinks are awesome. The owner is a gem. He had free range to choose a cocktail for me and he gave me a winner now can I tell you the name? Nope that’s not good. The cocktail was definitely come here if you’re in Brooklyn. Definitely come just cause. Ruth is.🔥
Popped in for a quick drink while in the neighborhood on a random Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised. Atmosphere and service were a 10/10. The bartenders were friendly and put on a show. And the specialty cocktails? Phenomenal- not too sweet, packed with flavor and almost miraculously smooth. Will definitely be back.
The new spot on the block. 11/10 and heres why You can almost walk right by it if you are not careful. But if you have decent peripheral and an affinity for rustic architecture it should catch even the busiest of bustle’s who stride by. The first thing I noticed was the rusty tin look on the outside which gave this new spot a look of seniority amongst its neighbors. Looking into the window and you can see a cheese chop bar with big wheels of cheese and blocks of all shades of white and yellow. Inviting myself in only to reveal more than cheese but an entire bar and only what I can describe as a fireplace den with velvet plush couches and loves seats. It was dim-lit, lush, and damn right sexy. Keep going and we get to the outdoor patio This brings us to the Mediterranean seaside. I don't have the words to describe it. You're going to have to check it out yourself! Oh, and the cheese and charcuterie and cocktails are satisfactory, and then some. Employees are down to earth good-humored and friendly (but something tells me to push their buttons it's still Brooklyn) The bathroom was spotless which is incredibly impressive as important. I'd say this is a great place to come by yourself if you want to ponder about life. But the level of intimacy this place has makes it a hidden gem for dates. Bring a plus one here if you plan on swooning.
This place is AWESOME. So beautiful, great cocktails, and who doesn't like charcuterie? I was heartbroken when Erv's closed and I'm so glad to see members of the Erv's team bringing excellent cocktails in a great space back to PLG.
Great place I loved it here atmosphere and drinks
They also do coffee in the morning…excellent macchiato!

Wow! Stumbled upon this bar and was like entering narnia - so many cute spaces and such a great atmosphere. Brilliant queer and POC open mic night on the last Thursday of the month too. What a special place :)
This place has great cocktails and is such a great atmosphere
Ruth is run by passionate cocktail artists who make delicious drinks! Definitely worth popping in
Live jazz on Monday was excellent. The bartenders were great. The cocktails weren’t my favorite, but I think that’s more on my preferences than the quality.
My goodness! This place is epic! Exquisite and homey, the lay out is just so perfect! The back space, the bathroom, the smell of cooking, ah, so relaxing, enticing, and refreshing__all at once! Heyyy, although I don't drink anymore ( except H2O or cider) I saw how quick and fast and agile the bartender was! Kudos, to you, the supersonic bartender!!!!.... Now, now, I am gonna tell you this: you can get back to me and tell me I wasn't lying! Or if our taste in what our eyes see differ__yiu are also allowed to tell me I was just hyping the place up(Disclaimer: the place do not pay me to advertise their establishment, and definitely they do not have any idea I am gonna be writing about them__even me myself didn't even have a clue I will be doing this! But, they do deserve to be uttered in the Google Reviews 🥰
Lovely interior (great spacious bathroom), nice cocktails ($15), cute outdoor space & an all round good vibe. Sit at the bar, or take a seat and scan the QR code for the menu. You'll need to still order from the bar once you've decided your drink. Jazz band pops up on a Mondays, which was a wonderful surprise. Recommend! 🍹
Spoilt to have this gorgeous cocktail spot, such a welcome change with its gorgeous seating. Attentive service. Great cocktails & wine.
I had a small event here, and the service was excellent! The team was so kind, and responded quickly to emails. I loved how organized everything was. The charcuterie and drinks were delicious! My guests loved the decor and had a wonderful time. I definitely recommend this bar. One of my favorites in brooklyn. Thank you Ruth!
Beautiful place...atmosphere is great..never tried the food as yet..but this is our goto relax spot..Thanks
If there was a modern day Cheers, this establishment would be mine. Been here on many occasions, birthdays, date night, friend meetups & solo. The bartenders (love Bobby) are all friendly and creative. In love with their speakeasy setting. Their minimal entrance can easily be missed if you are not paying attention to the small neon sign. The inside provides a lovely contrast with dim lighting & well positioned colorful velvet couches. Its giving elevated bar experience but at the same time cozy & casual. By now I've tried most of the drinks on the menu. My usual go-tos are the señor Hemingway, Soapbox and the Grudge, all tequila & mezcal based. For rum, I have gravitated towards the Coco laser beams and Satanic nightjar. The Lucky Cat (gin based) and the Depeche mode (bourbon) are very well crafted cocktails Big fan of their charcuterie. You get to chose any 3 items for $27, 5 for $35. The platter arrives with crackers, dried fruit, honey. I do wish it had more bread Their cheese is bomb. I love the roomano, brie and montealva. But also if you want to order within the neighborhood, I believe they still allow outside food. Lastly weekend nights can get too populated, so weeknights are best. Jazz Mondays are an excellent time to stop by.
Please change the cocktail menu! I speak for everyone I’ve brought to this bar, who all thought the drinks were bad. So it’s clearly not a singular customer. That said, I love this bar for the vibes! Beautifully designed true cocktail bar esthetic, from the cozy couches and stylish chandeliers, to the candlelit ambiance. Truly a beautiful space, I just wish the cocktails were on level to the classy and chic cocktail lounge it is.
When Ruth first opened as a cocktail bar, I looked inside. Since the food menu was sparse at the time, I put it in my back pocket as a place I might go in the future. Fast forward to today, I was walking in the area when I noticed a sign saying it was open for coffee. Of course I went inside. At the main counter, they serve the classics plus a few specials. My cookie butter matcha (with oat and flavored syrup) was less than 6 dollars so while it wasn’t the best matcha in the world, it was a pretty good deal. They have a coffee club where you pay $40 a month for free drinks, 10% of items like cocktails, food and wine. Plus you are able to use their wifi in their space which has a funky plush aesthetic. Definitely good for people who need a place to work. It is a good way of using this space in the morning.

Wonderful bar with super sweet bartenders, staff, and owners! Shout out to Joshua and his team for holding down our crazy election watch party last night with over 150 people attending.

This place is dope! We walked in not knowing what to expect. We’ve always walked by, but we said eff it. Let’s go in. Happy we did. Initially when you walk in, to the immediate left is a prep station of sorts for food I think. Behind that is the bar. It looks very speakeasy-esque. Beautiful velvet chairs. Beautiful decor. Chill music. Bartender was super nice. She was super busy but made sure to take care of us in an orderly fashion. Drinks were good, but not to my liking. I misordered, and got something with mezcal, which I’m not a huge fan of, but was able to water it down a tad and it was totally fine. Also had another drink that was a bit too tart for my taste but still good. Didn’t get food, but will come back for sure. Especially with a group of friends. Thanks!

I’ve been a regular at Ruth for years and imagine this. I crawl into my regular spot around 12:40 to a trans Black woman bartender telling me she already called last call with the WORST attitude. Keep in mind, online Ruth closes at 2:00 am on the weekends so to call last call at 12:40 is extremely lazy. I ask for a drink anyways and when it was time to pay I did not tip on the machine. Before I could reach into my bag to tip in cash the same bartender is staring at me make the transaction and then makes the snarkiest huff when I hit no tip on the keypad. If only she had waited instead of being nasty, I would have tipped as I do regardless of anything. I decided to walk out with my cash in hand and have decided I won’t be returning to this establishment as long as she is working at the bar. So disgusting, uncomfortable, and rude why? Because I walked in when she said last call with over an hour left until closing. WOW
