I mean let’s start with you have the beach right there ! They have food that’s really good. It’s a little pricey and the portions aren’t huge. But defiantly one of my favorites on the Coney Island Boardwalk
My buddy Henry loves the Salt & Sizzle. He had a piña colada there last summer so strong he thought he went blind! He loves strong drinks and the Sizzle 💪🏼 5/5
If you wanna party or see a $hit show awesome place. Usually great music too. Covers high. But Im pretty sure they do this to keep out the rift raft.
😁my fav place on Coney Island boardwalk. Frozen cocktails are so good and the fries & onion rings are 🔥
We had two strawberry daiquiri which were tasty. We also had the fish tacos and the Nacho's both incredible! Highly recommend them
I still think about the blue Hawaiians I had at Salt and sizzle on Coney Island. We came over on the 4th of July all the way from California after watching the Nathan's Hot dog eating contest live. But it was so good we came back and got more drinks the next day before heading to the airport
david the bartender (young asian guy, just in case there is another david) is awesome. super sweet, funny, and accommodating to me as a lightweight. i don't normally go for a $15 cocktail, but i'd come back here if he was the one making it. shoutout to him specifically!!
What could be better than a delicious, frosty, frozen Margarita on the awesome Coney Island boardwalk. Great food, music, and atmosphere to boot. 5 stars.
Smiley service, great recommendations, food was also nice. Nothing fancy, but good for the location. Nice and cold beer.
The excellent Mermaid /Merman beers, along with the prime people watching makes this place a must visit when at Coney Island. The proximity to the bathroom doesn't hurt either.
Strongly suggest.... Best place for have 🍻 and Fry Sea food. Go with barefoot and feel sand on your feet. Listening ocean waves and music. Seagulls. Lots of people walking around and you will see almost every creation of human being. Most likely everyone have smile on their face. Live music not far away. If you want break free your daily cycle get towels and take shirts off. Take seats, have your drinks with everyone...
Got a margarita from the female bartender Kelly, she also recommended a henny colada for my wife who loved it. Will be back next time to try the food
Wow, greatly exceeded my expectations. Granted it was low due to the carnival atmosphere of the boardwalk, but food and drinks were amazing. Real steak in the tacos, and surf turf, great drinks.
Probably the best food, service, and cocktails on the boardwalk. I can't say enough about the service though. I'll definitely be back. No photos to post since I inhaled everything but highly recommend the philly cheese steak with provolone and don't skip the french fries. They're fresh and not frozen!
Best Strawberry Daiquiri, nice staff and fresh Shrimp Tacos!
The drinks were very good just a little to strong but the ladies that was that there yesterday at 11am june 29 with brown hair and tan color skin charging the drinks was super nice and friendly she made the experience wonderful cheers to her for great customer service
Our experience to "Place to Beach" was great. Was our first time there. We arrived around 1030pm on a Friday I believe it was. The place already had a lot of people inside. And there was a long line outside. We waiting in line, while some girlfriends went to the restroom. They came back like 15minutes later. And we only moved about 5feet in line. So we asked if we could get in faster with bottle service. And luckily that was the case. So we didn't have to wait as long. If you don't mind spending as lil more money for extra time of fun. Then definitely do so. Prices were pretty good for the bottles too. The bottle girls were very helpful as well. As you can tell from the pictures I took from a video I had recorded. Sorry about the blurriness by the way. They also have hookah as well if your into that. From my friends reactions, the hookah was good and fresh I believe they said.
Sheban and Devonte make a great team. Thanks for figuring out my mozzarella order Sheban❣️
Steak tacos, fries with cheese and drinks were so good. Great vibe!
Great food! Great drinks! Great staff! Our bartender Aaron was the best!! I ordered a watermelon mojito, my second, and he was free to take my order. He said, “I’m going to give you the best watermelon mojito” and he did just that! He muddled fresh watermelon with limes, it was so tasty & refreshing. He recommended the steak frites since Serena was on the grill side, and BEST CHOICE! Go there and ask for Aaron!!
Definitely the best place to eat near the ocean Coney Island steak is so tender doesn’t taste cheap. Also the hemi coladas are amazing and very sweet great atmosphere and Customer Service.
Nice place to eat while visiting. We decided to seat right in the boardwalk, pretty nice view and atmosphere. The prices are standard, the food was real good and plenty (Cheesesteaks, fish & chips, nachos, onion rings), the staff was ok, Kelly (cashier) was nice and helpful but one of the girls was off (didn't get the name) but you'll figure it out, other than that, recommended.
We arrived on a Sunday and it was raining on/off. The sample margarita was SUPERB! The sandwiches were filling and fries were so tasty! We discovered there is covered eating area BEHIND the shop! that was fun to eat under with the rain coming down. great way to just relax and get your second wind for all the excitement. A paradise at Coney Island!
Loads of fun, amusement park was great, beach was nice. Although the beach was quite dirty with trash and the park was expensive.. But what else could you expect from a NYC park.
Great place to catch a drink and chill on the board walk. They have giant Jenga, Giant connect four and Corhole and a pretty good music mix.
Pretty awesome beach bar . Good fairly prices and drinks for Coney Island bar . Nice club/ lounge place in the back . You can bring drinks to the beach * at your own risk
Love the bulldogs!! The food is pricey but worth every penny. The summer parties they have in the back are fun and can be slightly ratchet. If your from Brooklyn it’s a normal night for you but tourists beware 🙅🏼♀️
Forgot pics but the fish tacos and the philly cheesesteak are pretty spot on, service was quick and friendly, and the view is always amazing... perfect boardwalk food! I'd go back
Would be 5 star if the cover was 10$ or free for men. But besides that freakin awesome! Vee is my bartender she is swell so my drinks flow strong and the ladies here are exceptional you wont be disappointed and good music .
I came here over the summer with a whole bunch of coworkers as part of the livingsocial eat and play experience, wristband & all. After an afternoon of exploring the rides, we finally made out way over to Place to Beach (bit of a walk, tucked pretty far back from the exit we came out of) After much deliberation, I used my $10 voucher for a $13 steak burrito, opting for about everything I could add (including guac). Burrito was juicy and flavorful, although it must have been the guac. Coworkers complained their meal had little to no flavor... Besides splitting the burrito with me, s/o and I topped off this snack with sangria and frozen margaritas. I can't speak to the 'ritas on the rocks but the frozen ones came out looking like a Wendy's frosty and packed a surprising punch. SO's red sangria tasted grapey while the white was less fruity-sweet but much tastier. I enjoyed myself, with the company, food & drinks. Our time there was made even more special by a wedding party walking through-- nice bride let her bridesmaids wear some gorgeous toga dresses!
A 2013 season addition to Coney Island Boardwalk, managed by the great folks at Luna Park. If you liked Beer Island (formerly in this space), you'll love Place to Beach. While you can't dig your toes into sand while you sip a beer, you can sit at one of the many, many tables while enjoying live music, a huge selection of beer AND on Fridays, the fireworks. The quesadillas, chips and guacamole, tostones and flautas are pretty solid, too. Reasonably priced given the area and the staff is absolutely wonderful with groups.
the gem of coney island. great music, great attentive staff. good for large parties ...and private booths available. keep in mind there is a dress code and cover charge. $10 bucks if i remember correctly. fyi... hooka also available
Beer normal price for Coney Island. Servers are polite. Good views of the boardwalk and beach. They need better control of the lines of people as line cutting happens. The have security. Have a back area with a DJ but all hip-hop rap so need a better selection of oldies and 70s/80s pop plus light rock and modern music and some country with the very occasional hiphop rap.
My favorite spot during the summer! Only 2 reasons that I gave them 4 stars is because of the following: 1) Depending on the bartender that you go to, they will have certain drinks. For example, I went to one bartender and she told me that they didn't have passion fruit margarita, but on the same day, half an hour later, I went to another bartender and she was able to serve me a passion fruit margarita. 2) The other reason is because I went on Sunday before Memorial Day and there were some obnoxious, drunk females, dancing and bumping into people and tables, additionally one of them took her top off and was showing her breasts off and the only thing security kept doing was telling them to quiet down, instead of kicking them out. It was during the day and there were a couple of families with kids there, including my family! Other than that, I have no complaints about this place. Good drinks, great ambiance (when there are not obnoxious people), good music!
The location is perfect. Service was OK. The tables were filthy so I had to go up to the register and ask the man to wet a cloth to give me and I had to wash down my own table. They have two bathrooms. One is a family size and the other one is a standard size. The food was great! I ordered the bang bang shrimp and my best friend ordered the steak tacos. I also ordered the blue Hawaiian, which was tasty. My best friend ordered the watermelon Mojito. Atmosphere was great. The prices are decent. The crowd was very pleasant. I would definitely come back here again.
Great location. Good food. Drinks are No more expensive than other boardwalk Coney Island bars/food spots. Far better than nasty Ruby's and nasty Paul's Daughter. Staff very friendly except one who you can easy avoid! Three bartenders are great. I just drink there and go IHOP for happy hour food or Nathan's for their fully loaded burger. Recommend this place.
Located right on the Coney Island boardwalk in Brooklyn, this diverse menu covers it all. A big plus for me is that they have a Healthy Options section on the menu. Also, they have frozen cocktails that hit the spot on a hot summer day. Be careful of overtipping! I got a fruit bowl and 2 frozen cocktails and the suggested tip was $8...kind of ridiculous for pouring two drinks and grabbing premade food out of the fridge.
I found this place to be pretty decent in comparison to some of the other boardwalk eateries in Coney Island. They have a reasonably sized menu with fair prices, and the food and drinks are surprisingly good. I ordered the shrimp tacos and the salt and swizzle, and I enjoyed both, especially the drink. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly. Another plus is that they have plenty seating with benches in the front and back. It is definitely worth checking out, and I will stop by again in the future for a quick bite.
Went with my lover, we both had a good time. The service wasnt special but the food was tasty although a little salty. We had their steak and fries with the steak tacos. A lil pricey for the tacos considering that they were so small but the steak and fries was the star. 🥩🌮🌊 Absolutely love the view though, just sit down and look at the ocean. Stunning.
I love the food here...but I ordered a hummus platter to go and I asked for less veggies and more pita chips....I got a platter with 4 chips.... I was already too far to turn back...a waste of my money!
Very nice atmosphere. Was disappointed when ordered fishbowl drink and they bought out drink in a bucket and said it was $30!! Dont advertise a fishbowl and you dont have it in stock!!!
The food was decent, and the staff was friendly but they need to make more room by the pick up area.
Fun little bar. Right in front of the fireworks at Coney Island. Some sketchy people circulate which is a little off putting. Nice little back area.
The food was alright but a little pricey. The atmosphere was really good late night and the drinks were delicious however, when paying for ny meal, it was $10 more expensive then i was told. The bartender/cashier had chosen his own tip without my knowledge or consent. I am a server and I definitely agree he did deserve the tip that he selected (I actually would have given him more) but am unhappy that he tipped himself without my consent.
The first time we went there are the chicken tender meal and it was really good. second time we've went there the chicken was a little greasy and hard too chew but the French fry we're always good how could these tables be sanitary if dogs are laying on the table should they be on the floor
I rarely give negative reviews but I had high hopes for this one but should have stuck with the basics. I ordered the steak and shrimp skewers. It came with veggies and two tiny pieces of toast. The shrimp was pretty tasty but the steak was overcooked and tasteless. It was so hard to chew. It also took almost 30 minutes for me to get my food. I’m pretty sure they forgot my order but I was patient in hopes it would be worth it. It looked like most people were getting the chicken tenders and they did look really good. The fries were undercooked which was also a bummer. I do like they have a large seating area on the backside of the restaurant and had restrooms. I would try again but sticking with something more casual.
The drinks are good the food is good but buyer beware. Just pay attention to your cashier and your bill. Especially if u make multiple trips to their counter. It might be best to go here with cash.
I did not really enjoy my first time here. I ordered the steak sandwich with provolone and they didn’t put the provolone. But even without the cheese, the sandwich didn’t taste that great. I also didn’t appreciate the sneaky tip charge on my bill. It’s a good place to go if you are starving but if you really want some flavorful food, go someplace else
Salt & Sizzle is a decent place to get a bite to eat on the Coney Island Boardwalk. They have a nice selection on the menu, and I ordered the cheesesteak and fries. I thought the cheesesteak could have used more cheese, but it was decent nonetheless. I thought the fries were really good though. It also took a bit long for the food to come out. I do like that they had plenty of picnic tables to sit at. Overall, it’s an okay place to get a bite to eat, but there’s probably better places on the Boardwalk.
Couldn't sit at table since we weren't ordering food . Drinks were very week . Margarita was missing a few ingredients no salt no lime etc. There to hear a band. There were 20 of us day was cloudy n only 4 people all ready there. The bar ended up 2 rows deep n 2 tables being used. Several people didn't stay long.
Overpriced (even for the place) lower quality food with bad service from people not caring about anything. Don't be fooled by the marketing.
Didn’t receive the right order. Food was way too greasy even for boardwalk food. Soda was flat
Good view of the boardwalk but the hundreds of flies buzzing around and even biting you completely ruins it. A few others also complaining to staff about all the flies.
This place is so busted, waited half an hour for fish and chips then they just stared at me when I asked if they had vinegar.
Just got a meal couple of days ago. Didn't know that the fries with bacon can be burned like carbon. It seems like that was real US cuisine 😂 please respect yourself and chose something better:-)
What do you expect for a fast food place on the boardwalk. They cut the chips/fries in the kitchen. The fish is small, obivously pre-frozen, overly battered and the onion rings are OK. It just fills you if you are hungry, nothing else. My wife got a cheesesteak thing, and there was a hair in it. Enough said.
very pricey, slow, if you dont tip 20% for fish sticks and fries expect a good talking to from the cashier.
Girl who works the register is not kind or smart…. Adds up prices wrong and is unpleasant.
HORRIBLE staff. Was discriminated against on June 14, 2019 by a man named gregg who refused to give me his name , management wasn't helpful much. long story short they can interrogate you about your personal ID on your 2nd round of drinks. Unprofessional, me and my friends will never go back.
I’ve been here for 35mims no server to take our order. Waiter is aweful, he has taken orders from table seated after us. I stoped him told him, that was 10mins ago and he has not been back. No organization. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
As others have said be vigilant when ordering. Huge tips included and the bar staff will become quite aggressive when challenged
Got the lobster roll and a beer here on the 4th of July. The difference between my reciept and my bank statement $5 over charged by this place. Would never go back.
Old greasy overcooked fish and chips possibly the worst we have ever eaten YUK
Absolutely horrible place - waited 45 mins just to get 6 pieces of chicken wings. Very slow customer service and incompetent management who doesn’t care about their customers. Ketchup bottles are always empty. One star!!
The Food is good, but dont worth the headache. Terrible service, confusing and very slow
Scammers. Ordered Italian sausage hero. When I got it it was ALL onion and pepper and a minuscule pathetic tiny cut up portion of sausage. It was flagrant fraud.
If you want to deal with aggressive security guards go here! Their staff was worse than the TSA. I got yelled at like a prison inmates for wanting to finish my water on the line before they dumped it out. Also I purchased drinks from their bar and was told we could bring them into the club section and then again security way over reacted and told us we can't bring in drinks that we just purchased at the same venue. They were very angry and disrespectful. I think you have to do your job and take it seriously but you also need to give each individual respect as we are paying customers who are paying YOUR salary!!! Really just killed my vibe. I will never ever go there or give that place a dime. And I'll encourage anyone I can not to go there because of this poor poor treatment.
On August 28th, my girlfriends and I went to A Place To Beach, a restaurant in Coney Island. We each had food and one margarita. After I drank about half of my drink, I started to feel my legs going numb. I knew right away that something was wrong, so I went to sit down, and I began to throw up. One of my girlfriends took me to the restroom where I passed out. A bouncer went into the restroom and said that the owner wanted us out of the restaurant. My girlfriend pleaded with them, explaining that she didn't know what was wrong with me, that I only drank half a glass of margarita, and that I'm a decent person. Yet, the bouncer picked me up and took me outside of the restaurant, and left me on the boardwalk. When I came to, I was in the emergency room, strapped to a bed. I was dazed and confused, and didn't know what had happened to me. My cell phone and designer eyeglasses were stolen at the restaurant. I knew I was drugged. The whole day was a nightmare that I wish no one ever has to experience. I felt the need to warn people about my experience in this restaurant.
Went here for lunch. An angry announcer screamed in a mic on the highest volume all the pick-up numbers. She was angry on every costumer that picked up the food and said things like jesus christs, god sake etc. They forgot my order even though we reminded them twice. Got my veggie tacos after 1 hour and it was the smallest tacos I've ever seen. Did not get full at all.
Chicken sandwich? More like Dirt burger. What was in that thing? I want a sandwich, pure chicken, some pesto or aioli, salad, tomato, FRESH vegetables and chicken. What I got surved was a brown wierd combination of, supposedly, chicken, BBQ and «pickles»?? It felt like everything was thrown into a blender, mixed together, then smashed into some soft brioche bread. Perhaps my standards are just too high, but I couldn’t finish that thing. Shrimp tacos and fish and chips are the only eatable things here I think… And for God’s sake, buy a subwoofer
You can’t leave without paying tips. Beer was great. Food is expensive and doesn’t taste good. Would not recommend for lunch or dinner.
WORST RESTAURANT EVER!! NEVER EAT IN THIS RESTAURANT BECAUSE I TRIED TO EAT ONE TINY BIT OF THE FOOD AND IT MADE MY MOUTH STUCK AND NOW I CANT OPEN MY KOUTH.ITS BEEN 70 YEARS AND NOW IM 71 YEARS OLD AND MY MOUTH IS STILL STUCK. IVE BEEN DYING OF STARVATION AND THIRSTINESS.I WOULD HAVE GAVE THIS A NEGATIVE 1M STARS BUT THIS ANNOYING STORE DOESN’T LET ME BECAUSE I GOT ARRESTED BECAUSE I BREATHED THE AIR IN THE RESTAURANT.I DONT RECOMMEND EATING HERE OR BREATHING THE SAME AIR AS THEM
NEVER COME HERE!!!! THE FOOD IS DISCUSTING AND THE WAITERS ARE EVEN WORST.THE WAITER WAS SUPER MEAN TO US AND THROWING FOOD AT US WHEN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO JUST DO HIS JOB AND DELIVER IT TO US. WHILE ORDERING THE WAITER CALLED US A FATTIE AND A LAZY SLOW PIG JUST BECAUSE WE WERE HUNGRY AND TAKING OUR TIME CHOOSING WHAT TO EAT. NEVER EVER TIP THEM. THE WAITER EVEN PUT A POTION ON US TO STOP TALKING AND EVEN MAKING US BLIND AND DEAF. THIS INCIDENT WAS 80 YEARS AGO AND NOW IM CURRENTLY 81 YEARS OLD. EVEN MY GRAND CHILD THAT IS NOW 78 YEARS OLD SAID THAT THEY ARE SUPER RUDE AND THE FOOD IS SO BAD.
This place is absolutely disgusting, food disgusting and grumpy old man disgusting and this OLD MAN JS RUDE to others and he has a bad attitude. This place is outrageous and no should ever go there and atmosphere in that store is so salty I’m choking in the air
I hate that place especially one of the workers. He was so rude and racist guy. Like they make money out of the costumers so they most treated the costumers politely and nice NOT terrible and rude. They could do better Serving a costumers.I don’t recommend anyone to go there it’s not worth it
If I could put -10 ,I would! The worst service ever! We not even enter to the place to eat and we ask where the bathroom because my boyfriend couldn't hold no more and I was about to order food for us. Guy at the bar tell us where to go ,but as soon as we enter guy who called himself a manager start yelling at my boyfriend and treating to call to security on us ! This "manager" talk to us so mean ,this is racism ,my boyfriend is black! But I will not let no one treat him ! This place should be shut down! They are RACISTS! We lost our appetite after that and this "manager" ask us to leave ! I never ever experienced this "kind" of horrible service in my entire life!
The Managers is racist my friend boyfriend is Haitian American and we were going to eat here but we asked to used the bathroom first and the Manager said he will call security because my friend’s boyfriend went to the bathroom He is so rude we end up not eating here and I am sure the food is disgusting as the costumer Service . Please do not visit this place.
Terrible food. Scam on checkout. They preselect the highest tip and then flip over the tablet for you to select the tip. They have the brightness so low you can’t see anything. When I tried to read it by leaning down the employee grabbed it with both hands and tilted it down at an angle making it even harder to see.
The cheesesteak was the worst thing we’ve ever been served at any “restaurant”. The whole sandwich was cold, the bread was completely stale and the meat was clumpy and dry and cold. It tasted like it was made yesterday and just sitting around. This was a terrible excuse for a sandwich especially for $15. They also have the “suggested tip” set at 20% and tell you to sign, so if you’re not paying attention you’ll get robbed for a tip and no one is even serving you.
BE AWARE. Bartenders have the tip set to the highest allocation, trying to figure out how to do a custom tip is a process. So gross will go elsewhere when i’m on the boardwalk.
One person from the staff was extremely rude, I ordered the fish tacos, which didn’t explicitly say it had onions, which I am allergic to, and when I asked nicely for a replacement meal without onions I got told off and he mentioned I had no idea what I ordered and no one would help at all, really bad service.
This abomination is being passed off as a "cheesesteak." I know what a real cheesesteak should look and taste like, but what I got was anything but a cheesesteak. The bread wasn’t crusty or hollow, the onions weren’t caramelized or flavorful, the meat was of poor quality, overcooked, not on the griddle, and mixed with who knows what. The whole plate was too salty because of the cheese and the onion texture was predominant- it was completely inedible. There’s a guard before the tables who makes a fuss about letting you in, but then some people get in anyway and try to steal food from the plate. Sorry for sharing this:
Food is great, prices decent.. atmosphere is nice when you can sit in the back. Servers and service SUCKS!!!
Food and service was disgusting. They advertise a lobster with chunks of lobster for 30.00. I paid 30$ for a lobster roll and got strings of fake lobster with celery and salad so it was salad in a bun. Then I complained about it. They just put more salad on the bun but no lobster. Fake advertising and stealing ppls money. Worst place ever
