We came here for birthday, the food was both very nice, we got served a free starter, which is also tasty. The restaurant is not big, but quite popular during night time. The atmosphere was great, and the location is convenient and easy to find.

Well, I don’t even know where to start. If you are visiting this place and you don’t try the empanadas just don’t visit it. The steak was cooked in the highest quality, no extra salting was needed. Yes it was expensive but I can tell you that it was totally worth it.

The food was delicious. Service was nice, waiters were polite. The steak was great. Reservation in advance is recommended.

We dined at Pampas Argentin Steakhouse in Budapest on 27 December 2024, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The staff, all three of them, were incredibly accommodating and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Our server stood out for his exceptional service, providing thoughtful recommendations for both the steak and wine. Since I prefer my steak with a significant portion of fat, he suggested the perfect cut (Pampas steak), and it was absolutely spot on. The steak was cooked exactly to my preference (medium rare) and was really flavorful. We also tried the empanadas as starters, sampling the minced Angus beef, chicken, and spinach fillings. Each was delicious and set the tone for an amazing meal. Overall, Pampas Argentin Steakhouse delivered not just great food but also top-notch service, making it an amazing dining experience. Highly recommended for steak lovers!

We made a reservation and visited this place on short notice. The service was friendly and spoke English well. We ordered a selection of steak dishes and sides. All the food was prepared exceptionally and tasted amazing. The portions were sizeable and we left the restaurant feeling more than satisfied. Definitely worth a visit.

In my opinion, there is no place better to sit and enjoy an amazing steak in Budapest. The food is always perfectly prepared and the amount of different types of beef makes it a difficult choice. Add the great wine selections and it is a guaranteed perfect meal. Very convenient to get to, and you can walk along the Danube riverfront after dinner!

Atmosphere very calm with nice background music. The service is very polite and friendly. The portions are all excellent. The dish is in a suitable size. Every one can find something to eat. Well design restaurant.

We combined our weekend trip with friends to Budapest with a birthday dinner for our son at Pampas Steakhouse, which was very close to the hotel we stayed during the weekend. We made the reservation online a week upfront after checking the online menu and read other online reviews. Long story made short, we can fully recommend this restaurant to everybody visiting Budapest and loving to have great evenings with outstanding food. From starters to desserts, whatever you choose tastes great. Meat is grilled or cooked exactly to the point of your desire and even special wishes such as a birthday table firework for our son's birthday was made possible without any problems. The restaurant has two separate rooms, one in the front and one for smaller groups (we were six but eight or ten are absolutely no problem) in the back. Ambience is great and comfortable though on the very dimmed side, which made it very relaxing for us. The personnel can also communicate in english language, as is the case in many hungarian locations. Pricing is probably for hungarian measures on the higher side however the food and service deserved every and each Hungarian Forint.

Pampas is superb. Great service. Lovely food. Spacious yet intimate restaurant. The waiter even recognised our accent. Food was lovely. Would definitely revisit next time we are in the city. High recommended. Very reasonable pricing compared to the UK.

This could easily be a Michelin star restaurant in the future. Food was excellent. I would visit again. It’s not quite a Prime68 in Dubai, Castell in Amsterdam, Alexander’s in Cupertino, or Strange Meats in Las Vegas, but superb nonetheless. If in Budapest it’s a must visit. But perhaps wouldn’t fly to Budapest solely to eat there. The selection and preparation of the meals stood out. The only dent on service was a lack of filing up the wine and water glasses, as you get at a Michelin Star establishment. The food quality is definitely up to standard.

A must when visiting Budapest. Food was amazing! Great wine selection. Perfect for couples. Our wait staff was more than professional and welcoming! Reasonbly priced for the quality of food. Definitely recommend this 10 times over.

Awesome Argentinian food. The empanadas were amazing, the best i've ever had the charcuterie was spot on and so was the burger. I will definitely be back and sit out side and enjoy it all again. The Mojito was also pretty rockin for an afternoon light buzz :) Afternoon lunch wasn't busy but i'm guessing you'll need a res for dinner.

The best steakhouse in Budapest. Rib-eye steak was perfectly cooked, excellent grilled rack of lamb and super nice, attentive staff. Everything was spot on.

We went to that place spontaneously with 6 people. Great place with super Steaks. Not to cheap but its worth. Every time again!

The best steak I had in my life (rib eye kobe beef made to perfection), the place is just perfect, the hospitality is beyond great and friendly. Recommended+++. We also ordered a Hungarian beef tenderloin which was amazing.

Great steakhouse, NY strip was cooked perfectly for medium rare. Sides really nice, recommend the garlic mash! Would definitely come back

We were very pleased with our dinner. The decoration of the restaurant was pleasing and the tableware good quality. The service was attentive and professional with the staff speaking excellent English. The meal started with complimentary bread. My husband and I both ordered the rib-eye steak medium rare. The steaks were nice, although I would consider them more rare than medium rare. Although garlic butter was not on the list of sauces, a very generous portion of it was provided for me upon request and for no extra charge! The sides of French fries and steak fries were also very tasty. I would note that the steak fries are what we English would call potato wedges, which was not what we were expecting -- they were good nonetheless. We again both enjoyed the chocolate soufflé for dessert. The wine list was reasonable, although as expected there were not so many by-the-glass options. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Lovely find- excellent service. Literally had worse in 5 star hotels. Very considerate, polite, professional and patient. Steak was excellent - I always find it difficult to really enjoy a steak cooked to my liking but this was fabulous. All 4 of us were impressed (including two fussy teenage boys)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Experience! We had an incredible dinner at this steakhouse — easily one of the best meals we’ve had in Hungary. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection: tender, juicy, and full of flavor. But what really made the evening special was the service. Gabor, Our server was genuinely the nicest we’ve met in Hungary — warm, attentive, and effortlessly friendly. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. If you love a great steak and value exceptional service, this place is a must-visit.

An excellent choice for first night at Budapest with my daughters. Argentinean tenderloin steaks, medium and medium well, made to perfection. It's been a while since I enjoyed such a stake. House wine Sirah was good. Mashed potatoes with garlic was tasty, I wish this side dish could be bigger.

We booked last minute online a spot, and it was a good decision. The food was delicious, the waiters friendly, and the food came fast. They have a good wine selection. We will be back.

We went for a late lunch and the server was very nice. The meat selection was prepared very nice, the soup was on the salty side.the starters were also very tasty and the deserts were also delicious.

Food was very good not amazing. Not the best steak I’ve ever had. The atmosphere and service were top notch love the decorations and service.

Food was actually really good. I had a Hungarian steak medium rare and the mashed potatoes. I appreciated the server telling me what was fresh. The bread was not good but the herbed butter was actually delicious. There is a step to get into the restaurant. It was spacious inside. Pretty large menu. I spent $60, they included a service fee.

Tartar was the best I have ever had. The steak was great but not 5 Star perfect. The dessert was great but the vanilla ice was too creamy and not top notch. Overall a great place to be and we will come back ;)

I had expectations for a steak house restaurant since i came due to recommendations. The food wasn't appeal at all, attached pictures. The steak (argentinian Angus) tasted very mediocre and didn't tasted as it was expected to be. The carpccio was lake of taste, the fries was very lame, other dishes was better. The waiter added some items that were not ordered.

I expected more from the service, which fell a bit short of what I anticipated. The food was somewhat disappointing compared to the Argentinian standards I’m familiar with. On the positive side, the place was easy to find since I was walking.

The steaks are amazing, prices are high but more reasonable than some other steakhouses in Budapest. The whole place however is quite sterile and not so welcoming. It felt much better a couple of years ago, only the good food remained...

After reading a very misleading review that said this was “the best steakhouse” in Budapest we decided to check it out. We got the beef tartare, rib eye and sirloin and they were all very bad. The only thing that was actually tasty was the mashed potatoes that I got with my rib eye. Starting with the beef tartare it taste like spam if you’re not from North America it taste like canned beef would definitely not recommend. The rib eye was without a doubt the worst steak I’ve ever had at a restaurant it had no flavour, was super hard and it just didn’t taste like a rib eye. My girlfriend got the sirloin and it was the same thing, did not have any flavour and was extremely tough. We spent $170 which is not bad for a steakhouse but given the poor quality it feels like an absolute rip off. Whoever wrote that original review definitely got paid or Budapest is the worst city in the world to get a good steak. The only reason I don’t give it one star is because the service was quite good, especially for Europe standards. Would not recommend.

Way to expensive And to charge over 4€ for mayonnaise when you order a 70€ steak with fries ? No where in the world I had to pay for mayonnaise. Don’t go there! Better places in town for sure

It's overrated place. We saw comments and wanted to try here but come on it's very very salty. Service was very slow and food came 45 mins after order. I ordered Pampas steak and it was salty and very cold. Fat was dried on plate, same for my wife. We didn't like it as a family. Behaviour of the waiters wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. Steak house should not be cold. I mean everything was cold.

First of all, we only chose this restaurant because of good reccomendations on some blogs and we were undecided between this place and Prime Steakhouse. I believe that who gave stars for this restaurant got paid or something. The first impression we had was not bad, until the things started to go wrong. We ordered a 2023 Malbec and the waiter brought a different wine and was 2025 and immediately opened it before giving us the chance to review it, when we challenged him about the year of the wine, the answer was “ It’s all the same” we didn’t want to escalate the situation so we didnt comment. The medium well steak we ordered arrived super dry and was not tasty at all (i doubt that its real Argentinian steak) the spinach was probably microwawed, it tasted weird. Only thing was satisfying was the mashed potatos as sider. There was no sprinkled salt, no mustard offered at all. The place was super cold, The heat was blowing cold air, We had to sit with our coats for 2 hours. I can comment on at least 10 more items that were not properly done such as wine glasses (basically not suitable for redwine) or the quality of the plates which they bring the food. Overall, this is not a steakhouse, This is just an ordinary restaurant. Don’t go there with high expectations of good service and fine dining atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, There is a lot for them to improve to become a real steakhouse. Only silver lining was that the manager was bringing the bill personally and asking if experience was good. We also gave him our poor feedback. Good luck in educating the staff and improving the poor quality and service.

The food was excellent, the desserts were great, and the wine was outstanding. The atmosphere is perfect for having a good conversation and enjoying a nice evening. However, all of this is completely overshadowed by the shockingly poor service. From the very first minute, the waitstaff treated us with an attitude that was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. They don’t explain the menu, they act as if serving you is a burden, and their behavior makes you feel unwelcome. It’s truly a shame that such a good and beautiful restaurant is ruined by staff who show no respect or basic courtesy.

First I’ll have to start from the service. Bad. Very bad service, the waiter lacks basic etiquette. He made jokes about my budget and made feel poor and miserable. The sparkling water they serve is not free but no one tells you about it- they will add it to your bill and will act like nothing happens. The portions are small, side dishes are not included, pork is dry, and wow the beef broth - it just a bland warm water with the thinnest slices of carrot I’ve ever seen and meat dumplings you will need a microscope to find them. The rib eye is delicious can’t complain, but waiter attitude made the experience of a nice dinner to be a very bad memory of a trip in Budapest.

Service was great but my husband and I ordered the ribeye: the steak was just horrible. I don’t mind paying if the quality is right. Cheap meat for Ft 51,000 - it was horrible that I didn’t even take a picture of it. Lol

Had a wagyu rib-eye steak, which was ruined due to the fact it was way too salty!! even after shoving off the salt with the knive, I only had the taste of salt instead of beef. I gave my feedback. I was offered a dessert or a sparkling wine, wich is compared to the beef just 2% of the price and I had no intent to eat any dessert or drink more wine.
