Had a great time at Left Bank with my girl. The service was on point and the atmosphere really brought the whole night together. The drinks definitely stood apart—not your basic cocktail menu. Everything from the steak to the dessert was a 10. If you're looking for a spot in Buffalo, this is it. 100% recommend
Molly our server was fantastic and the food was great too, thank you 😀
I came the other day for a Galentine’s dinner and wasn’t disappointed. This place is a Buffalo staple and loved by many. It is a top notch restaurant that uses high quality and fresh ingredients and adds gourmet touches that are higher end but still work for the Buffalo crowd. And the portions are usually generous. I like it here but a lot of the menu options don’t work for my diet. So when I come it’s for someone else’s occasion but it’s still very much a treat. I will say that the staff is always accommodating and helpful to ensure I find something to eat. Most recently I was able to enjoy a delicious special that was grilled prawns with mescaline and vinaigrette, supremed oranges and grapefruits and artichoke hearts filled with herbed goat cheese. It was delicious and filling enough I was able to eat it as my main. The flavors were unique and blended well together. I was full but it was still light. The herbed goat cheese stuffed artichokes were delicious and a real treat. I’d hope to have them another time. The citrus fruit touches were a nice contrast to the richness of the cheese. If you want a delicious meal and a nice place for a date or girls night definitely check this place out.
The ravioli is still the best I've ever had! Justin is a fantastic server - very knowledgeable on the dishes and drinks, has the best advice on what to choose! My favorite place for a special dinner.
We enjoyed our meal at Left Bank. We received a heads up that LB was the place to be, so we went in with positive expectations and vibes, and were not disappointed. Our server was wonderful, and made a fun time even more delightful. I had the castaway, which was a very enjoyable ginger and gingerbeer 🥃 brew that brought out the pirate in me, argh. Good food, very nice. And excellent ambiance— they know the lighting to go with the brick interior. I loved having a REAL taper candle lit on our table. Also, the bread served at the table was crusty and most excellent.
The carrot pappardelle is easily in my top 5 dishes in Buffalo. It's incredible. Be sure to order the Daily Ravioli to share. Not only is it delicious but it's a conversation piece! Service was fantastic, portions were generous, cocktails were yummy, ambiance was cozy and nice but not pretentious. Our table got the calimaria, salads, seafood chowder, panko chicken, shirt rib, a chicken pasta dish, house ravioli, and the carrot pappardelle. We were all incredibly satisfied!
Really good food and drink menu with interesting choices. Dim, intimate setting but it was extremely loud while we were there. It is in an older building so I assume the acoustics are bad. Our server was great, and I would definitely visit again. I would recommend reservations. We had one and still had to wait about ten minutes.
Great food, surprisingly large portions. I had the red beans and rice with spicy sausage and the spice level was nicely balanced and completely appropriate to the dish. Others had various kinds of fish, really interesting preparations, all properly done.
Hard to get reservations, probably due to its small size and the great food. The bruschetta special, with chicken and artichoke hearts was so good! The chicken cutlets were tender and moist, as was the pork tenderloin. The steamed vegetables were at just the right tender-crisp stage, and the cranberry sauce with Grand Marnier was excellent. Staff was attentive, and are to be commended; when our server, Elijah, was busy at another table, other staff assisted us with a couple of small matters. Can't wait until our next visit.
A local institution that never fails to impress in terms of the food or the hospitality of it's staff. The outdoor patio transports you into a lovely oasis in the middle of Buffalo. The food is mostly Italian with a twist. We had a stuffed portobello mushroom as an appetizer which came with a lovely sauce. I had the eggplant which was great. We didn't have room for dessert but the people in a table next to ours did and it looked and smelled great.
Went to dinner here based off a reccomendation from a friend. We were so happy to be able to get in! Reservations were very limited when we called at 1 pm. You will definitely need a reservation as the restaurant is pretty small. Ambiance was really nice. The food and service were phenomenal. If we are ever out this way again, we will most definitely be back!
I'll start by saying I plan on making reservations for a future date it was so wonderful. We came in and the ambience of the place was somewhat surreal in comparison to the outside. The place was packed but you're able to eat at the bar and they have standing tables to the side which is great. I ordered the Meat special for the day once we were at the bar. The bartender (Michelle, ask for her shes amazing with drinks and service) brought out our appetizer (the Calamari) fairly quickly. The Calamari here is hands down probably the best I've had in a long while. Crisp, not greasy and the chunky marinara was so wonderful. My steak entree came out not long after and it was heaven on a plate. The steak was medium rare just as I ordered and the sauce over it was amazing. The potatoes were creamy, green beans crisp. Only complaint for the plate was the carrots were barely cooked. Still enjoyable though. Honestly for a place that would be considered a whole in the wall it was amazing. 10/10
Foods are generally good and services are good! Relatively hard to find parking and it took a long time for foods to arrive for some reasons! Overall, it was a good experience!
Saturday night, very busy and loud for a dinner in the dining area, away from bar. Although the appetizers and entrees were very good, the amount of pasta was too much, each person in our part of 6 could not eat half of their entree. A better and healthier approach would be less and keep the quality. We would have liked to try some of the dessert options and coffee or espresso, however none of us could eat anything else. overall a good spot for a drink and some appetizers (stuffed mushroom with marsala was delicious!)
Went out for a birthday dinner for wife. Six people at table. Food and service was good, but 2 minutes after receiving check and settling up the hostess came over and asked us to get up because they needed the table. I understand the place was busy, but ink on the receipt wasn’t even dry yet and they are asking us to get up. After a $770 bill including Tip, it was very rude to basically kick us out. Won’t need to worry about that happening again.
Everything was pretty good! Nothing blew me away, but minimal complaints. Steak was a very large portion and cooked to how I wanted it. Fondue was very good. Cocktails were below average. Service was average, a tad slow and waited 5 minutes when we walked in to even see a host. We went for our anniversary but no one asked if we were there for anything special or seemed to care to make it special. Overall pretty good and has reasonable priced items for a fine dining place so it doesn’t have to break the bank if you don’t want it to. Would go back but next time with slightly lower expectations.
We dined here for my fiancé's birthday dinner- overall impression was good, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The food was quality and you could tell it was made fresh. Each order was also a generous portion which you don't always see at higher end restaurants. If there had to be one "complaint" for the evening, it did take longer than expected for each course to arrive, however the server checked in with us frequently and our drinks were never empty. Our dinner took just over 2 and a half hours which we didn't mind, but an observation nonetheless. I would come back for sure, there was several other menu items I would have liked to try.
Inconsistent Quality – A Real Mixed Bag While I had high hopes, my visit was an unpredictable game of chance. The dishes were either fantastic or frankly disappointing. The best dish was easily the grilled asparagus wrapped in salmon, which was delicious thanks to its perfect dressing. The pan-seared halibut was also excellent. On the flip side, the margherita focaccia was a letdown (more like flatbread), and the sesame tuna main course was flat and severely lacking in flavor.
Went to dinner there… food and server were great! However FYI to check gift cards before you leave… we purchased two $100 gift cards while we were there for my mother in law to give as a gift (we did not check them before we left as they were placed in an envelope and put into the bag with our leftovers). The day of the event my mother in law opened them and one of the gift cards had white out and was obviously reused… which makes it look like the gift card was regifted since it was two different gift cards!!!! We called left bank and basically they said they ran out of gift cards come and get a new one (the day of the event and obviously not able to be fixed). Simply offering to do one $200 gift card or explaining you were out of gift cards would have sufficed instead of whiting something out and not telling us!
The fondue was amazing. The steak and the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and the asparagus, giant. The cocktails list was fun and every single one was worth it and a fantastic wine menu that anyone could find something they enjoy. Our entrees were just okay, mostly flavored by cheese. The atmosphere ended up being sports bar loud with several rambunctious larger tables when we were looking for a quiet romantic night out. It happens.
I called a week out and made reservations for my dad's birthday, and the earliest available was 7:30pm, which worked out. We were seated pretty fast. We ordered at 750pm and did not get out food until 8:45pm. Also we didn't finish until 9:45pm. Long service. I ordered the halibut, which was severely undercooked. Maybe they rushed it because we were waiting so long, but that's no excuse. When I showed the waitress she apologized and they made me a new one. It was good. I enjoyed the miso glaze on it, which was salty with a touch of sweetness. I ordered a side of rice as the waitress recommended. I tried my dad's carrot pappardelle, and it was good. It had lobster, shrimp, and crab meat with it. My uncle had penne with calamari and the calamari was very tasty. Light breading, which was seasoned with a hint of spice. Overall, my food was good, minus the raw halibut. My brother had the salmon and he tried my halibut and said the halibut was better. I gave this restaurant 2 stars due to the atmosphere and how it was handled. One table was about 10 people, and they were yelling and laughing the whole time. Really inconsiderate of others around them. The only time we could hear each other speak was when they were eating. When the table was finally leaving, they were rude to my aunt, and it was uncalled for. It felt like it was their first time at a nice restaurant, and they did not know how to act. The type to pay rent but have their financial priorities in the wrong areas. They continued being loud even after they left the dining area. Our waitress apologized, but to me, that wasn't enough. They should have been asked to leave, especially since they were just standing at the exit for at least 10-15 minutes being loud on purpose. The staff acknowledged this behavior and apologized to us but did nothing to rectify it. If I were a restaurant manager/owner, I wouldn't let anyone disrespect any other guests. To me, it felt like they cared more about them because of the size of their party compared to ours. More money from them than us. Also, they did mention that table also worked in the restaurant industry, so they knew them. A lot of people take my advice on where to eat and unfortunately I'm not going to be able to recommend this restaurant. Word of mouth is important, and not only did they lose us for future services, but they will lose countless more. I've been to a lot of restaurants, and rarely do I give a low rating. To me, the food and the service are equally as important. Due to the atmosphere, how long the food took to come out, and the undercooked fish, I doubt I'd come back. With so many great restaurants in Buffalo such as Mother's, Hutch's, Mulberry, Gabriel's Gate, etc, I see no reason to. They did take off the halibut and my dad's dessert off the bill. Instead of being a great night for my father's 78th birthday, it turned out to be the opposite. I asked him where he wanted to go for dinner, and he asked me to choose, for this I take responsibility. I will make it up to him elsewhere as he deserves only the best.
