The pizza ordered which was a extra large pepperoni and a medium pepperoni basil and garlic were delicious. The regular crust is not thin not thick it's perfect the flavoring is amazing just like real New York pizza. Definitely one of the best places here on the peninsula!!

I really liked the employee's smile. He served us very well and the pizza was very tasty. the slice is very large, it serves two people, lol.

I really love this place it's my go-to pizzeria I go all the way from San Francisco just to get this pizza I used to love eating other pizzas around the area but as soon as I try New York Pizza it is one of my favorites me and my family go here almost once or twice a month of course when were craving pizza but they do have a lot of other options we love their chicken wings and their chicken bites my husband's favorite pizza is combination especially from the spot they have outside dining inside dining

Wow.. was just walking by this place looking for a bite while I had time to kill and thought a slice sounded good... was amazed by what i got.. one of best slices of pizza I've ever had.. price, flavor, cooked to perfection.. had to leave instant review, wish I lived closer!

Today on Easter the cashier was very kind and helpful! I told her it was my first time ordering here and she basically walked me through everything! The portion sizes were huge! I was well over full and the pizza was thick and crispy!

Gave them am try first time with Philly cheese steak sandwich, was great. Also gyros are good. Fresh bread and meat is not dry! Service is friendly. Next time will try pizza!

Friends and I came here for our Downtown Pizza Chow Down to check out all the downtown pizza places in San Mateo. This was our first stop and also rated the best. We ordered pizza by the slice. These are HUGE slices (two separate actually) and they're delicious. Great thin crust, great cheese and great toppings. You can also order just about any kind of pizza you want. Our group rated it a 9 overall. It was just great!

It's legit. Pizza is ALWAYS good. Service is always fast n friendly. It's warm in there on chilly nights and they have outside tables for when it's nice out. Mozzarella sticks are mid tho.

I’m visiting from the the southeast and this pizza is great. The Greek salad was fresh and big. The cucumbers, tomatoes etc were fantastic. It should be given that salads are fresh, but in my experience it’s not! Highly recommend!

And they load the pizza with fresh toppings. I LOVE the Combination: it has the perfect taste. And they make very savory Ranch dip sauce that I love to always enjoy. don't forget to also try their chicken wings. Super crispy and meaty!

It was super hot in there bc of the ovens, but there is some outside seating as some seating inside. My mom and I split a slice of cheese pizza. The slice took about 5 min to warm up. I'm so happy we got one slice to split bc it was huge!!! And so so delish. The crust was crisp and perfect and the cheese was a perfect amount. I will definitely be back and order a slice to myself since I can't stop thinking about it!!! Service was fast, he brought the pizza out to us while we were sitting. Definitely a very good pizza. We ordered it from the restaurant but we were next door at eddy's bar and they delivered the pizza with plates and all the stuff needed to the bar like we were sitting in their establishment. Not boxed up but on the baking tray and all

Pizza was great but not quite extra cheese as ordered. The manager on today has tremendous customer service skills & very accountable. My single complaint is that the delivery driver did not follow my detailed instructions at all & disturbed the front house owners. I hope to order again soon, but get a different delivery driver & Xtra cheese as ordered, though the pie was pretty good, I must say.

This place is okay but there are other better pizza joints in downtown San Mateo. I found that the dough is inconsistent as it is sometimes might be too thick or too thin. Guess it depends on who is working there on that day. Would that being said. This place is located right next to a bar where you can take your pizza inside.

The pizza doesn’t have the texture or structural integrity of a New York City style (too floppy and airy like most Bay Area pizza places) but the flavor and toppings are good. Maybe their thin crust option is better but “regular” was too bready.

I've been ordering pizza from New York Pizza for the past 5 years. I order pizza every week. This is the first time I've been dissatisfied. The pizza was hard, barely any cheese or sauce. The mushrooms looked dehydrated. The bell peppers used to be nicely sauce. And now there chopped in tiny squares. The pepperoni was smaller. And there was barely any meet. I would hate to think my favorite pizza place has jumped on the band wagon of shrinkflation. Joseph F

their pizza crust, sauce, and overall ratios are pretty bad. the two slices I got, it was like they fully baked the crust then added the toppings and baked it again, crunchier than a cracker. the pizza tastes like a lunchable pizza that someone left in the oven for too long. absolutely nothing like NY pizza and not really good by california standards either

So sad to be writing this review, since this has been our goto pizza for years. But unfortunately we are gonna have to part ways. I don't know what happened, but lately the pizza almost always comes completely cold! I called a few times already about it and nothing changes (And we leave merely 10 minutes away). Plus, and regardless of the none existing heat of the pizza - it just does not taste as good anymore as it used to. it was over burned and dry. To top it all, the garlic bread came with no dip even though I specifically ordered one. To sum up: Thank you New-York Pizza for all the great times and the wonderful dinners you had set for us. We will be moving on to other pizza places.

This is not NY Pizza, more like Maine. When the cheese and the crust are the same texture, there's a problem. Personally on touch alone, I couldn't eat this pizza. Fortunately someone else was able to, but just wasted my money for nothing.

I do have to say if you want a bacon salad then get the spinach salad because all you get is bacon. The chocolate mousse cake is good but isn’t the same as the picture! The younger woman cashier with the long black hair (should have taken a picture to post) was EXTREMELY RUDE and disrespectful!! as i was paying, she SNATCHED the payment device FROM MY HANDS, grabbed it, and adjusted it to her liking. i was taken back a bit at what she did at first i couldn’t believe how aggressively and angrily she grabbed it back!? She could have humbly and patiently waited until i was trying to figure it out. And as a Paying customer, i am in my right to take my time TO PAY! I shouldn’t have to be rushed whats wrong with her?? And when i came back to POLITELY confront her of how rude she acted she kept wiping down the tables and acted like she had no idea what i was talking about. Beware! Was working on Sunday July 7th at around 7:00pm to 7:25 (ish) pm. Absolutely unacceptable and to that lady, Be nice to people!

I ordered a salad and almost everything was wrong with it. There were many pieces of rotten lettuce that were black and mushy. The cucumbers were very soggy and soft. The tomatoes were all wrinkled and mushy. Horrible. Then on a different day I ordered a slice of pizza. The vegetables were all chopped up into small bits as if they were gonna make a indian masala or something. This new york pizza is not the same as before. Not sure if they changed owners but it was a lot better when they had the latinos working there. Wayyy better pizza in that time and fresher salads. Now there is only Indians there and you can tell the difference in quality and taste. The way they chop them veggies be having the pizza taste like a curry. Amici’s and north beach pizza is way better.
