Best hash ever! They make it themselves. Stopped in while passing through for early breakfast. Friendly people and delicious food.
Always enjoy a breakfast here whenever I am in Burney. I like a chicken fried steak with eggs over medium and sourdough toast. This place does it right! Hats off to the men and women who put it together. 👍
Our waitress was very kind and attentive!. Food tasted delicious! Fast and efficient. Plan to stop there again on our way through
Very good small town restaurant. I had the Belgian waffle with eggs and bacon and sausage. Very good and the waffle leftovers were still good later in the day.
The corned beef hash was the best I've ever tasted. Told the server that and she said it's the dame guy whose made it for 20 years. I can tell, the recipe is perfected! It's real corned beef, and it's just amazing!
K I have to say, I was on a trip from Santa Rosa to Nampa, ID that was rudely cut short, we only made it about an hour past Burney before being told to turn around. So in order not to have a whole weekend ruined, we went to Burney Falls, and then to this restaurant afterwards. Let me tell you, both the Falls and this restaurant saved the day. The food was so good, the hash browns were cooked I believe in coconut oil making them feel light but still exactly what you expect from hash browns. All around a great experience and fair prices. Give 'em your business!
Great service. We tried the breakfast and had chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, hash browns, waffle, bacon and everything was fantastic.
I can't help but love a place that pays attention! It's great to walk in and your AMAZING waitress brings you your drink as you sit down!! She pays attention! Also, the senior menu is great!! I suggest the Denver omlet! Service is impeccable! And food is GGGRREAT!
Jessica was on staff and we had an 11 top and the food and service was phenomenal! We got great recommendations on local places to check out. Must stop
Classic American diner. Big portions, fast service, booth and counter seating. Right on the main road through town. Much better option than what else is available close to Burney Falls.
Vegetable Omlette was amazing ! Service was nice and clean. People are pleasant and being an outsider I appreciate the hospitality! You can’t go wrong. We had breakfast for four. We spent about 72 bucks! This included 2 ribeye steaks eggs, omlette frech toast, pancakes and fruits! With coffee!!!! Super affordable
For those who are not aware...tragedy struck here. A fire broke out in the building and the owner is unable to afford rebuilding. No insurance to recover is my understanding. We are so sorry for the loss of this long time local business.
We were staying in town on a Tuesday night, but they closed at 3pm. Luckily, they were open for breakfast Wed morning. Delicious food and great service! Our last day of vacation was perfect thanks to the Blackberry Patch!
Stopped in again on my over night stay. Coffee was immediate the food was maybe 5 minute wait and they treat you like HOMEFOKE. That's what I expect from a little town. You can see locals . Travelers. They all get treated the same.
We had a breakfast and a lunch. The breakfast steak was well-marbled and perfectly cooked. The pancakes we're crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the berry syrup was a great touch. The cheeseburger was also great. We will definitely eat here again when we're in Burney.
Looks like it has closed down...Just read of a devastating fire 8/7/24 has closed this place of business. Very sad news. Prayers for the owner and this small community. Ate at Julio's this morning...just spent the night as driving thru town to Ashland...and the community is grieving such a big loss. God bless.
I have visited this restaurant two separate times, months apart, and the service does not disappoint. If you desire a hearty serving of breakfast or lunch, with a down to earth atmosphere, then you will enjoy BlackBerry Patch. The coffee tastes great, is hot, and is served with a bowl of mixed creamers. It is definitely a great place to fuel up before a hike amongst the local trails.
Great diner! One of the best tasting patties I’ve had. Kylie did a great job at welcoming us and she was patient with is.
Awesome place to grab a bite to eat! everything is good and the help is good! Thanks for putting your best foot forward and making your business a success!:)
Fist time my family and I eat here, and we were completely satisfied. Delicious food and great server attended us. We'll definitely return next time we're around.
Excellent breakfast! Country potatoes were very good. Topped with the gravy very tasty! Breakfast sandwich is good sized and excellent. I had the breakfast burrito which came with a pepper country gravy. I really enjoyed it! We got both orders and some OJ to go. Definitely recommend!
On point. Great food. Great service. Friendly waitress remembers you Fter the first visit.... if traveling through stop in to see them. You won't be disappointed.
Little heaven spot for quick lunch at first looking at the menu I was stunned by the price everything pretty much around $12+ So I think to myself they better be good and they proof it our food came out quick and tasty. We had kid cheese burger and tater tots, Philly cheese with potato salad. It was far better than I expected. The service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Today we had a wonderful waitress who was working her butt off on a busy Saturday with people coming in at closing time. She kept things flowing and did her best to keep customers happy. We appreciated watching her work so hard.
My husband and I stopped in on our way through Burney. We visit the area often and have stopped in several times. The food is excellent! We have enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Their breakfast combos are excellent and enough to share if you'd like. Their Corn Beef Hssh iscexcellent and was sold out this morning. Service is fabulous and friendly. The restaurant is a little dated so your booth cushion may be a little lacking, but please don't let that deter you from enjoying some of the best food in town!
Best meal we had in Burney. Staff was prompt and knew what they were doing. Breakfast was good and large portions. Waitress was awesome and knew of some good hiking spots with waterfalls. We'll be back!
Everything was cooked to perfection 2 of us ordered medium well steak with our eggs first time it came out right. Lots of food super delicious staff was friendly. Always keeping us up on when order would be out and if we needed anything. They were pretty packed as well.
This diner had some delicious food. Portions were a good size to fill you up. As a vegetarian, I was impressed with their veggie burger (I usually find them not so flavorful elsewhere). My meat-eater friends also enjoyed their meals. Small town feel. Wifi available. Plenty of parking available out front.
We had a group of 11 birthday breakfast that was delicious! We loved the vegetarian omelette, berry crepes, sausage & gravy biscuits from scratch. We cleared our plates. Jessica, the boss was super kind and helpful finding fun places to visit! We highly recommend!
I'd given this place 4/5 except that the host who was serving us, a young girl, was the only one serving the whole place & no one was there to help her until somebody showed up. The breakfast we had was just great. The country potatoes served as a side with the egg plate were super delicious.
Breakfast was great! It was very busy when we walked in and there was one poor server helping everyone! She rocked it though and we actually had drinks and food in half the time we were told it would take. The breakfast burrito was HUGE. Staff came around to ask if coffee needed refilling, which is always a plus. Also got a tip on a good fishing spot. We will definitely return and spread the word to others about this sweet spot!
Stopped in on our way to Burney Falls. We were seated immediately, and served coffee and water by a very friendly waitress. Our breakfast was delicious, and prepared perfectly. The prices were very reasonable, and I would definitely eat at this restaurant again.
Delicious food, friendly service and fresh made biscuits and pies! Jessica took amazing care of us and she cooked a delicious blackberry/raspberry pie. The biscuits and pies are made fresh on the smoker by the front door. The all American breakfast sandwich and the beyond burger were both delicious. My favorite part was the friendly service. Highly recommend stopping here if you are nearby.
Being an Indian and also vegetarian I had low hopes of finding anything good. But I was surprised at the warm hospitality and easy way the servers understood my request for a vegetarian meal without eggs. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which was scrumptious, with a veggie scramble and orange juice… everything was beyond expectations. So delicious. Jess was a delight to interact with. 😊
Great American Breakfast and Steak Dinner. The food was so good that I ate most of it before taking a picture. I had the French Toast combo. Two eggs, beacon and sausage with 2 slices of French toast. My wife had pancakes
Great local spot for diner foods. A bit more pricey than a typical city chain but full of charm and plenty of flavor.
My first authentic Diner in The U.S. - I loved the pie, coffee refills, excellent food & friendly staff!
Jessica was our server, she was very nice and the food was amazing good job Chef! I will definitely be back.
Great place to eat with a fantastic staff stop here on your way through for a great dining experience. You'll only be upset that you didn't come, so don't miss out.

We visited the diner for breakfast and received a wonderfully warm welcome. The staff was exceptionally kind and attentive, and the breakfast itself was delightful. Given the heartfelt service and the overall excellent experience, we've decided to return for breakfast once more today before our departure. I highly recommend this place.
Brought a big group in for a family weekend and it was phenomenal! Jessica was our server and she was fantastic, the food was delicious, and no one left unsatisfied. We even got adventure suggestions from her for what great local secrets are hiding near here! We are definitely coming back next time we are in town.
After a snowy morning at Lassen, we stopped by for a cup of hot coffee and a slice of pie. Opted to order meals first. Good food, good service, reasonable prices in today's climate, served in a diner like atmosphere complete with service counter and well-worn booths. Oh, and the warmed homemade blueberry cobbler really hit the spot.
The food here is home made and it's the best American diner I've been in so far. The lady is working by herself yet she zooms and gets to all the tables as soon as she can. The cooks are working hard and fast ad well. Would absolutely recommend stopping by here if you want a good ole American breakfast! 🇺🇸

I have reviewed many Denny's / Black Bear / Sizzler / Carrows / IHOP / HoJo's / Bob's Big Boy / Marie Calendar's / Gramma's Kitchen / Iron Skillet / etc. Based upon my experience nationally and across points west of the Rockies in particular, I can say that the cleanliness, atmosphere, service, attitude and general feeling of this establishment is solid 4 star for this genre of diner. The selection is three star compared to the standard set by Denny's menu and the buffet style establishments like the Iron Skillet. The quality and consistency of the food seems solid four star. This restaurant has separate summer and winter business hours. They also have free, medium speed WiFi. We liked it. We recommend it and we'd come back.
I had the Belgian Waffle with a side of bacon and eggs, the waffle was nice and crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, the bacon and eggs are your typical dinner quality sides, but that waffle got me right for the rest of the day, I recommend getting it if you wanna have a good day :)
Breakfast burrito was topped with country gravy, super good! Pancake was so yummy! The server was so busy but she was doing great to get everyone taken care of!
Great service, good food. Inside the restaurant could use some spiffing up, but the friendly, great service outshined. Had the Club Wrap and it was delicious.
Good food, decent price, friendly staff. We did have to wait almost an hour for our food to come out and nobody offered an explanation or apology for the delay. Besides that, the restaurant is worth a repeat visit.
It was good food, my husband really liked the chicken noodle soup and even my daughter ate it (which is a shocker) and it was homemade. The manager is really nice and really made sure that we had a good lunch.
Foods always great, we where told up front there would be a 30-45 minute wait. It unfortunately turned out to be 1 hour 10 min. wait. This has never happened before but with Covid-19 the other main breakfast restaurant in Burney has closed down.
Crazy busy Sunday morning had to wait quite some time but waitress and staff took command and did their best! They had to briefly close to let the kitchen catch up! Good small town cafe style food, my type of place!
Had the turkey melt which was pretty tasty I enjoyed the flavor of the turkey slices they used. My boyfriend enjoyed his shrimp dinner and absolutely loved the veggies grilled
Not too many places in Burney to eat nice little place with nice atmosphere decent food. Finally under new ownership. The manager very nice getting the building fixed up. They bought a new grill to do Smoked Meats. They have wonderful pies such a nice place one of Burney's staple go too's.
If you're looking for a cozy and friendly diner to grab a bite to eat, Blackberry Patch Restaurant in Burney is definitely worth checking out. I recently had the pleasure of dining there and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. I decided to order the Cobb Salad, and let me tell you, it was the bomb. The salad was loaded with fresh, crisp lettuce, and topped with generous portions of turkey and all the fixings. The waitress who served our group was very friendly and attentive. She took great care to make sure we had everything we needed. Her service added to the overall welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Overall, I would definitely recommend Blackberry Patch Restaurant for anyone looking for a tasty and friendly dining experience. The Cobb Salad was definitely the right choice, and I would go back just to have it again.
Took the family for Sunday Breakfast with the three grandkids 8 and under. Our server even found some black tea which was amazing. Food was amazing partially the biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict and corned beef hash. We can definitely see why it is popular with the locals, but also great for a visit from the UK.
There were 4 of us. One of us ordered a steak. No one was served until the steak was done. It was rare instead of medium like we asked for. Our other food was almost cold because it was prepared too early. When waiting for a steak you don't prepare the other food first. It just sits and gets cold. But the flavors were good.
5 stars is what this rating would have been except for the appearance of the restaurant. There is cracked and dirty ceilings and dirty vents. HOWEVER, the food tasted great and was large portion. The 2 of us split an omelette combo and still had food left over. The service was even better, Jessica is a ray of sunshine.
Family/locals dining location visited frequently. I could tell right away that a lot of the locals are regulars there simply because when they would walk in the door one of the waitresses would ask them if they were having their usual. That right there is amazing customer service. The portions here are very large so make sure you always go hungry before visiting here. Located right off of their main street in town. Everyone that was working here we’re all very friendly and nice and would have a conversation with you. Never had to ask for a refill on coffee as it was automatically being topped off by our waitress. The food tasted well. Our next stop in this little town we will have to try out their lunch menu.
We searched around Burney for vegetarian options. Nothing was found except salad at Safeway. Then landed here. 2-3 veg items in the menu saved my day. Ordered Veggies Scramble, Grill Cheese Sandwich. It's quite busy so wait time is more. Food is little pricey. Ambience is lively. Service is welcoming.
Decent food and plenty of options. They do have vegetarian options. Pretty quick service for a large group.

Loved, loved, LOVED the pancakes. It might've been the hunger talking but before I knew what happened I had scarfed down half my meal when I thought to snap a photo. I got the "Cake Combo" which includes two pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips and two sausages. Very scrumptious it was, compliments to the cook. The server was a cool accommodating sarcastic dude. The interior is definitely dated but the atmosphere was comforting, reminds me of the good ole days. I would definitely visit again if I find myself out this way.

In the small town of Burney. Service at first was good, once our order was taken we heard crickets. After watching our food sit on the counter for like 5 or 10 mins. They finally brought it to us. Again crickets. They were NOT busy at all. I held my arm up like a student waiting her turn to speak just so I could get (1 of the 3) waitresses attention, just so I could get refills. For the money we spent the food was NOT all that.. Basic DINER food I guess; especially in a little town like Burney.
Good food. But do you have to talk about your personal cheating husbands and yell throughout the resteraunt about it. Makes for an unpleasant experience. Employees should be working, not complaining about personal stuff in front of customers. I'm sure the owner would not appreciate it!
Ordered their corned beef hash and had a hard time eating it between the fact that it was a patte consistency and there were chunks of unedible gristle. The biscuits and gravy were pretty basic but decent. Service was great.
Wait for food was long. Sandwich and fries were great. Potato salad not so much.
Good food with a service, though there are better options on the same road.

Wow - the service at this place is slow. We came for breakfast and left at lunchtime without getting our food. At the hour and twenty minute mark, we paid for our coffee and walked out. The staff was at least nice, which is the reason for two rather than one star.
The food was great but the waitress had alot to be desired. She burnt my cinammon roll, lost out ticket, an my husband was only offered the original cup of coffee (no refills). I think I'd probably go further down the street to Anna's country kitchen.
A nice busy morning, figured the food had to be good so we waited 28 minutes before the food was served. Only it was served to the table next to us where the people looked at our food and waited to send it back. The waiter took it away, came back to our table to apologize that it would be longer because it went to the wrong table and they had to make it again. Barely a minute later they brought the food back, it appeared to be the same plate the people next to us had, my main disappointment is that they didn’t remake it as they said they would. Food wasn’t as hot as expected and a bit generic in taste. On the up side the staff were friendly and our area was clean.
No where near a 4 star restaurant- slow service, flies in the window of our booth, ordered French toast and waitress came back 10 minutes later and said they didn’t have any bread to make French toast, then had to point out we still needed silverware, and food was mediocre at best…. Well, you get the picture- I say keep on driving!
Well, I'm not even sure where to start... the service from the waitress was ok but not attentive. The cook was in an extremely bad mood and there seemed to be some sort of tension over the music that was being played. It took almost an hour to get a BLT and a Ruben sandwich with fries. It was not busy. I do understand this is a very small town and this is pretty much the only game in town. The food was standard. Prepare for a wait when you go. We were there Monday September 23rd 12:38 pm to 1:26pm.
We came in for breakfast on Saturday morning at 10am and got seated at the counter we placed our order for 2 breakfast sandwiches...one hour later still no food and asked the only server in the place about our food she said "they are working on it now"....20 mins later still no food. we left without paying for our coffee and tea. Service is abysmal in this place. Skip it and eat at the food truck.
Went for lunch. I ordered the 3 piece chicken strips with tater tots. Got 5 small pieces and 1 decent size. The breading on the chicken had no flavor at all. The bigger piece was juicy and with the bbq sauce was tolerable. The other smaller pieces were all overcooked. Dry and tough. The tater tots were nice and crispy. Had eaten here before a couple of years ago and the food was good.
Been going there for years for breakfast. Waitstaff and hostesses are always friendly and attentive, but something seems to have changed in the morning cook staff…. I ordered their homemade corned beef hash with eggs over medium, and sour dough toast for my breakfast. What I received was eggs over oily, very stale sourdough toast, and the homemade hash was LOTS of mashed yellow potatoes with VERY LITTLE corned beef, which looked and tasted like chopped up sandwich meat. Breakfasts are usually good there, but I definitely won’t be ordering the homemade corned beef hash again.

Unfortunately the staff was busy discussing their tips in front of all the customers, instead of actually serving the customers. The place is dirty and greasy, the food was sad and it took far too long. Don't bother.
If I could give zero stars I would. Honestly the worst breakfast I’ve ever been served. Poor quality food and terrible preparation and preparation. The service was awful as well.
Over priced and they must have got their cook from Mickey-D's, well not even that good! A sandwich was $10.50, toast was hard, not enough meat on it, but fries were good. Over priced! A two egg breakfast was $9.29. I know its close to Easter, but I don't think the eggs were golden. The price was! Scrambled please, not microwaved. Pancakes were like rubber. You shouldn't need a steak knife to cut them. The country potatoes were pre-baked, over sized, bland, maybe deep fried, three tiny pieces of onion, and one piece of chicken.Yuck! Coffee was barely warm and over $2. Hot coffee please! The waitress was kind, friendly. and was worth the $5 tip. "Good food at a reasonable price and a good waitress, with lots of happy customers will go further than over priced food that doesn't even taste good. We have been going here for 10 years, but the food is no longer worth it. Wish the old owners still owned it. They did much better. We will NEVER go there agian. Not so happy
We stopped here on our way home, we were hungry, it was crowded but people were coming and leaving, we sat down and ordered a water and a orange juice, from the waitress, then another waitress came to take our order and told us it would take 45 minutes to an hour to get our food because they were busy, I looked to see how many cooks were back there but couldn't tell, there was a lot of waitresses there, we were not going to wait an hour to get our food. We left after paying for the water and OJ.
The outside doesn't look bad but upon walking in I notice there is a hole in the wall over by where the cash register is, the edges of the tables are all chipped up and the seats are tore up with large holes with stuffing coming out. The waitress greeted us and pointed to a table and said we could have a seat there. In my head I was a bit surprised because of both side of the booth were worn pretty bad. one side had a huge hole and like I said stuffing was spilling out the other side it was smaller but still stuffing was visible. It had been closed for at least a month and I had noticed the sign outside as we walked in had said under new managment so I brushed it off thinking maybe they will fix it up. The waitress brought our menu's and it looked similar to a Dennys menu breakfast lunch and dinner all day. Cool, we placed our orders and the food was in our hands in less than 10 minutes which surprised me. I ordered teriyaki grilled chicken, with mashed potatoes which came with corn and 2 half slices of plain un buttered white bread (the bread seemed odd but whatever) and my girlfriend ordered chicken strips with French fries which also included corn and 2 half slices of white bread. Every single item was store bought frozen and thawed/heated and then served. it all tasted like those cheap TV dinners from the store. The "grilled chicken" really didn't look or taste grilled and the teriyaki was just poured on top and served with a little pepper sprinkled on it. We had high hopes for blackberry patch but we could have eaten the same meal that at blackberry patch cost $11.99 for only $2.99 in the frozen food section at any local store. The atmosphere truly reflects the food they serve. I do not understand restraunts that serve all frozen food if you want to have a good business and reputation when it comes to food you need to have a good product!
The service was good but the food was terrible. I asked the waitress what she recommended and she said the fish and chips. I received prefrozen fish triangles and prefrozen corn kernals and later that night I threw up. The group I was with all received prefrozen food, burnt burgers and a salty bleu cheese that would have killed a slug. I do not recommend anyone ever go here!
Only giving 1 star because I cant give 0! Save your time and money. Skip this place! A few years back I was in Burney and had the best burger ever so yesterday we drove 30 miles hoping for a good burger. Nope not even edible! After 21 minutes for 3 burgers and a breakfast( not another customer in the place) it came to us looking like a black hockey puck! Needless to say we left and will never go back. Pretty sad because this could be a good place with a decent cook.
The food was awful I ordered chicken breast and mashed potatoes and a soup I should have left when they said only on chicken breast left.... And offer to replace the other one with chicken tenders the potatoes tastes like they were about or they were already bad and one chicken breast looks so suspicious and the soup I didn't even touch it the waitress was nice I don't blame her or the cook the owner needs to do better....
Had food this past week. Food was very overpriced. No flavor. My son's chicken fingers tasted like fish. Service was poor. Lady never came to check on if food was ok before dropping check. Terrible. $60 for terrible experience.
Very disappointing experience. I immediately noticed cleaning chemicals on the counter and a cleaning rag that moved to 3 different locations on the counter during my stay. I have the experience to know that these are major health violations. I also noticed instead of using their soda machine, they had bought 12 packs of soda which they were pouring into cups and serving to the customers. On top of all that, my food was not very good. My only compliment is our waitress was very friendly and prompt. I don't plan on returning next time I'm in town.
Took forever to seat us, took forever to get menus, after nearly an hour wait for food, and it wasn't busy, we gave up, paid for our drinks and walked out. Crappy experience.
Very disappointed at the service given here. Walked in for a to go order and ended up waiting almost 1 hour for two sandwiches. Locals that walked in after me were served first. Feel like they should be more welcoming with tourists. Town is already a ghost town by it self so this type of situations do not help.
I went to the diner on January 29th 2021. I ordered the fajita omelet, it was undercooked and the egg was still raw. I had mentioned it to the waitress. she had just said that when they get busy the grill shuts down and food gets undercooked. she would let the cook know that he should cook it a little bit longer. My friend that was with us got a burrito and it was also undercooked. the cheese was not even melted on the inside. once we got to the cash register I had told the lady at the register. she went to get the manager in charge. I was told that since I ate some of my omelet before I realized that it was undercooked that she could not even discount my bill or she would lose her job. I told her that her manager had some pretty crazy rules and I think that's ridiculous. However I paid the $35 for our two meals and I will never return.
First of all I came on a busy Saturday morning, when most booths were filled, but there was still a table available for my friend and I. We were greeted by the wonderful waitress, shortly after we were seated by the hostess with our drinks. The problem came when our order wasn't taken until about 30minutes+ after we arrived, and that was after 2 other parties that came in after us, ordered! There were 3 cooks, 3 busses, 1 waitress and hostess, and I understand the waitress was busy, but why couldn't 1 of the bussers or cooks, who were standing around take our ORDER OR food to us, or at least help out where they could? In total our entire visit took over an hour and a half, and we could see where the lack of proper management was making this place fail! We recently went to another diner and when our food was done, the cook GLADLY BROUGHT OUR FOOD OUT! When u have better operating procedures in place, u make more money! I don't even think having an extra waitress or better hostess(it was only her 3rd day, and her first job)would have helped, because there's too many people standing around, doing nothing, behind the counter! I ordered a salad, and received it at the same time my friend received his breakfast. Plus, the blue cheese was RANCH WITH BLUE CHEESE FLAKES! IT WOULD ONLY COST A FEW MORE DOLLARS TO BUY THE REAL BLUE CHEESE, TO SERVE PEOPLE WHO WANT BC, NOT RANCH! I give the waitress 5 stars, but MANAGEMENT A ZERO, DUE TO HAVING TOO MANY HANDS NOT DOING ANYTHING! I'm sorry, but I will never come back to this restaurant, due to improper management, and oversight! YOU SHOULD DEFINETLY HIRE A NEW BUSINESS MANAGER, WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING, TO MAKE THIS PLACE OPERATE PROPERLY, have better food, AND SERVE PEOPLE PROPERLY! Many blessings and love yall! Update on my review, thank u for responding, I send you good luck with proper operations and hope the next time I come in, things are running more smoothly!
Every order was wrong food was very basic had breakfast. Had 1 waitress for the whole place. Assumed it would have blackberry for pancakes if desired with the name of the restaurant. Staying here a few more days. No plans to eat there again.
