Rosas Mexican Food

One of the BEST Mexican food places anywhere in the Imperial Valley! From the rice to the beans and the Carne asada plate, I simply cannot stress this enough it's HUGE! The food is top of the line and the chips and salsa are delicious. This place is ran by mom and daughter and honestly u can taste the quality and care they put in each dish. I will always come here to eat good Mexican food.

The enchiladas, salsa and chips were incredible, definitely going back. Can’t wait to try another dish here.

This was one of the best places in el centro, the food is amazing their meets are perfect, the ceviche was bomb and their meet sopa was delicious every bite was super tasty I’ll come back way more often when I’m in this little town

Huge RAVE to Rosa’s Plane Food! Customer service was awesome. After foo was served Rosa, the owner, came out to our table to say hi was very nice and sweet to us. She offered some avocado for my meal and brought it out herself, genuinely happy to serve. The food and drinks were generously portioned. I had the Ceviche accompanied by an agua de Tamarindo and my boyfriend had the chipotle shrimp quesadillas with rice and beans with a lemonade. I must say everything was delicious no complaints here! 10 out of 10 highly recommend!!!

The steak is the best in the whole town it's huge perfect for 2 people and their ceviche super delicious their staff is super friendly and grandma is the best chef ever, the food is authentic and big for special events I recommend this place 100%

Came to the new El Centro location and it did not disappoint! We had chips and salsa, chipotle shrimp quesadillas, and enchiladas. It’s the same yummy food we remember from Rosa’s OG location at the Calexico airport. Thanks for the memories! Food is still bomb :)

Some of the reviews for Rosa’s are pretty comical or make me worry more about some of the reviewers than the restaurant. Rosa’s was a local treasure back when it was only the Calexico location and am grateful that El Centro gets to enjoy some delicious Mexican food you’ll only find in the valley. Yes, the service isn’t on par with a large chain restaurant but this isn’t that type of place. It’s local, family run, and authentic. If you aren’t coming for those reasons, that might be the first issue. It’s family run and owned, which means staff can be limited. Race has NEVER been a factor in their service and indicating such is shameful. In terms of pricing, this isn’t Taco Bell or drive thru Mexican food in terms of quality or the portions. You get what you pay for and quality and quantity is part of the premium cost. Grab some carnitas or chipotle quesadillas and enjoy some great Mexican food when you have time to relax and wait, experiencing their food is worth it.

Great taste, huge portions, super awesome staff! Got a rib eye steak, over flowed the plate. Cooked perfectly and tasted amazing, slightly seasoned for an authentic Mexican style seasoned steak. Impossible to finish whole plate of food. Got an order of guacamole and it must have been 2 or 3 avocados worth in there, man was that heavenly too!

I've been a customer for a long time and have never been disappointed with the quality and taste of the food here. The shrimp ceviche is the best I ever had, and it's the only place I willingly eat shrimp as for the steak. What can I say always cooked to perfection so I strongly recommend you give this Calexico tradition a try.

Never had anything but the BEST of everything at Rosa’s Plane Food. Living in Brawley, I’m always willing to drive anywhere for her ceviche, that will never change. Great friend to my Aunt and Uncle and great owner to her loyal customers.

Ordered carne en su jugo, was good, then waitress admitted she forgot to ask if we wanted beans with it, we said no worries, next time we will mention it . Few minutes later she came through with the beans. Overall experience was great. Food was good. Menudo rojo fire. We stopped by because it looked like it was closed but noticed opened sign, we doing our part supporting newly opened businesses. Glad we did . Check them out

I almost turned around when I realized how far from hwy-8 it was but I am so glad I kept going and found it. I ordered the Chili relleno with chopped shrimp. WOW is not enough to describe how Great it was! Loads of shrimp, no skimping at all! Don't miss the chance to try this place if you can! Service was excellante!

If your are in El Centro, Rosas Plane Food is a must! My father in law and I both ordered the carne asada plate… as a SoCal native, this was the absolute best carne asada I have ever had the privilege of eating. The meat was cooked to perfection and the seasoning was just right. Aside from the food being delicious, the experience as a whole was incredible. Rosa’s daughter took the time to talk with us and told us that Rosa was back in the kitchen cooking. This is clearly a woman who loves her craft and is the best at what she does. After we told her daughter what a good job she did, she even came out and let us take a picture with her!

The prices are higher than other locales, but the portions and flavors are honestly too good to pass up. Do yourself a service and stop on by soon. Whether it’s their rib-eye, carnitas, enchiladas, or their signature beans. Can’t go wrong. It’s been awhile since I’ve returned, can’t wait to come back. My daughter found your restaurant on Google, she wanted a giant steak and it literally said that on one of your pictures. After an amazing time in Mexico, she wanted a giant Steak and potato. We made a deal that we would find a non-chain restaurant. I had enchiladas Rojas and they were perfect. Baby girl got her giant steak and it was cooked to perfection medium rare and she accomplished about 80% of it! Real food is hard to find and I’ll never pass El Centro without eating here again. The owner and staff were amazing also!

The decor is *so* charming and the music is a great mix! Bottled Drinks and Beer. Service was special! No hablamos mucho español, she made sure to take care of us! The homemade flour tortillas were phenomenal! Perfect spot for tourists craving some authentic food! The beans and rice were the BEST I've ever had! Beautiful flavors in the cheese. We even have leftovers!

Got the carnitas combo, which comes with fall-off-the-bone pork spare ribs with beans and rice on the side in addition to your choice of corn or flour tortillas. Really impressed with the flavor that comes out of the pork when eaten with the avocado, peppers, and salsa. Also ordered a Carne asada taco. The meat was definitely quality but it didn't impress me that much. A bit on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. Will definitely keep coming back.

Good Food, great service, it’s a family business, the grandkids work there with their grandma. They’re very are kind and treat you with respect by answering any questions you may have regarding their dishes of food. We were a party of seven we got the chip and salsa and that was good I ordered the Birria, and it was good. They don't have that on the menu since they make it fresh, and it will run out. This is what the others ordered * Carne and chicken parrillada, and the person enjoyed it. *Chile relleno de camaron 2 plates and those people also enjoyed it. * Enchiladas Rojas, the person who ordered this, was ok with them. The last person ordered *Ceviche de Camaron, and he was ok with it as well. **Drinks are not refilled, but they do bring an extra cup with ice for the bottle you buy. The decor was fun roses everywhere and pink pain with celebrities spray paint. Parking is outside

First time here since they moved to an El Centro location. It was a Saturday evening, I liked decorations, tables are pretty. place was empty so service was good. Food used to be better, quality it's going down and it is kind of expensive for mexican food and so much competition around them. Not sure if Rosa is still around. I used to really like this place back when they were at the airport location.

You can tell inflation has been hurting this business. I’ve been going to Rosa’s since I was a young girl at the Calexico airport. The ceviche and tacos were always the best! In El Centro portions have been reduced, prices are high and it had way more veggies than shrimp. The waitress we had took almost 30 min just to give us water :( Sadly my husband and I have decided not to go back. Across the away is D’Polys with more reasonable prices.

I can confidently say that my experience at Rosa’s plane food was not a good one. To start, the prices were extremely unreasonable with every main plate being at minimum 17 dollars or more, the waitress (owners daughter) was rude and has no form of costumer service, she responded rudely to every question asked and seemed mad throughout the whole time we were there. Would not recommend, 0/10

Horrible the worst customer service ever. The waitress (daughters owner) was rude and not friendly at all. She seemed to be mad all the time. The music was so loud we could not even hear her sprak amd when asked if it was possble to lower it a bit, she said she has already ask the music guy three times. And people had already asked and she could not do anything about it. Its not the guest fault she doesnt know how to control her emotions. I understand we were a party of more than 10, but come on to be mad about your guest asking for lettuce. Food was ok but not the best. I had never experience having to pay 7 dlls for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. The beans seemed to be heated at a microwave. The tortillas were cold and when folding them they would break. The enchilada plate only has two enchiladas. With a small portion of rice and the microwaved beans. The shrimp cocktail had more cucumber than anything. We felt awkward and didnt want to say anything as we did not wanted to upset her more. She even admitted that she didnt have enough employees (its not the guest fault).

HORRIBLE customer service. And to know that the person giving horrible customer service is the owners daughter..here are SOME of our complaints. When asked about ingredients on a plate her answer was "read the menu". asked for extra plates was Ignored and keept walking. Asked to lower the music her reply was "I already told him". We were more that 10+ people and to write that everyone in the group thought and said the same about our experiences is very sad. Food pricing is too much for what they offer. Example 7.00 for chips and salsa Never going back

I ordered here through door dash, carne asada fries… I got overly thick cut jalapeño, half a avacado, soggy fries, and a glob of sour cream.. seriously? For the price I’d have expected to get what I ordered not a sorry attempt to just give me the ingredients for my plate — previously as well ordering through the phone the old lady is rude and needs to update her customer service skills. For the prices, I’d want better service and food.
