I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Glasshouse in Cambridge, and from a photographer’s perspective, this venue is truly a gem. My one criticism of restaurant weddings is flow - with spaces that aren’t designed to be wedding venues, moving from cocktail hour, to dinner, to dancing can be a logistical challenge. Glasshouse avoided this entirely with its spacious layout and intentional design. The minimalist design, exposed ceiling, and floor-to-ceiling windows provided a visually striking backdrop. As a photographer, it’s always exciting to work in a space this beautiful. One of the standout features was the large, beautiful entryway that hosted cocktail hour and dancing. The high ceilings and open layout made this area feel spacious and inviting, while also providing plenty of room for guests to mingle and celebrate. Coupled with the dedicated dining space which was kept hidden from guests until dinner, the flow was impeccable. The transition between the outdoor space, to cocktail, to dinner was seamless, and although the venue felt intimate, it never became crowded. Overall, Glasshouse offers a wonderful balance of style, intimacy, and flexibility. Whether indoors or out, the space provides countless opportunities for capturing special moments in a setting that feels both modern and timeless. I highly recommend it for couples looking for a venue that blends industrial charm with a touch of elegance.

I cannot thank Kristen, Shauna, and the entire Glass House staff enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams. Every step - from the initial tour, contracts, personalizing the menu and drinks, even clean up at the end of the night - was flawless because of their professionalism, kindness, and flexibility. I would choose Glass House over and over again if I could. Our guest count was 88 people, and while a reception-style dinner is unconventional it was perfect and fit the vision we wanted. Many of our friends asked "how did you find this place??" because they were having so much fun with the games, having delicious food and drinks, exploring the varied interior, and overall having a great time. I'm so happy we chose this restaurant for one of the best days of our lives.

It's a chill and laid back restaurant. The prezel appertizer was my absolute favorite. It was warm and cokked perfectly! The fresh fries were really tasty too. The chicken sandwhich was a bit on dry side. Maybe if i asked for differemt sauce that it help it. Overall the waitress was really flawless too.

Falafel pita sandwich was excellent. If you’re going to advertise “award-winning clam chowder,“ you should at least serve it hot. Mine came tepid, but the server did reheat it without any fuss. Brewed coffee wasn’t that strong. Very appealing decor; however, they went with uncomfortable seating for no apparent reason.

Absolute five stars! The staff, Kristen and Shawna especially were top notch and the salmon was the most delicious I’ve ever had! Easy to find parking and beautiful patio.

We held our wedding at Glass House in November! They did a fantastic job all-around - the food and custom drinks were excellent, the separate dinner and bar/dance spaces worked well, and the whole event was very well-organized (Kristen N was amazing to work with). Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a bright venue with experienced staff for their wedding.

I had an incredible experience photographing a wedding here. Even on a rainy day, the space, location, and service were exceptional. I can't wait to return soon!

Great place for after work drinks and snacks! Recently also had dinner at Glasshouse and the steak frites was surprisingly good.

Nice restaurant that's tucked away behind a corner. Good selection of drinks and tasty appetizers. Looks like it might be a fun place to come for dinner.

I really love the clean, open, spacious feel of Glass House. The menu is focused, with creative twists on standby classics. Beer selection has enough variety to suit most tastes without being overwhelming. Service was quick and attentive. An all around enjoyable experience.

Went to an outside wedding here. Everything was perfect, especially the food. Will go back for the restaurant

Absolutely gorgeous place to have dinner! We went on a warm night, through a Boston heat wave, and the open doors and patio-style setup - in addition to the amazing food and service (my drinks never stayed empty for long, and there were more appetizers than I could sample) truly made the night feel like paradise. If you're in downtown Boston/Cambridge and are looking for a relaxing environment with a high-quality atmosphere and excellent cuisine, this is definitely a place to put on your list.

Went here recently for an early dinner. The clam chowder is excellent and I’m a native New Englander who is hard to please. Cocktails were well balanced, we tried the Tajin Dream and the Love Story. Cool space, prompt friendly service. Overall great experience.

Five Stars for The Glass House My wife and I are so happy we chose The Glass House for our son’s wedding Rehearsal dinner. From the initial phone call through the event, everything was handled professionally and with a level of care. The space is perfectly laid out so you can move between dining space, to the bar or outside very comfortably. We had a great night where the outside section was a bonus. The food was phenomenal, but the staff and their level of outstanding customer service was where they truly shined. From the food handlers to our wonderful bartender, to our great coordinators, everyone did their job with care, consideration and professionalism. Whomever handles the training you should be commended! I don't typically write reviews, but this one was warranted. Great job Glass House, we're very happy you handled our event!

We recently had our wedding at Glass House in Cambridge, and it was truly the best decision we could have made! From the moment we started planning, Kristin, was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly accommodating, working closely with us to ensure every detail matched our vision. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she made the entire process so smooth and stress-free. The venue itself is stunning—beautifully modern with a warm ambiance that was perfect for our celebration. Our guests were blown away not only by the setting but also by the food. They couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything was! The drinks were top-notch as well, perfectly crafted. Kristin and the entire team at Glass House truly went above and beyond to make our dream wedding a reality. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our special day. If you're looking for a venue that combines excellent service, incredible food, and a gorgeous atmosphere, and an amazing party, Glass House is the place to go!

I attended a wedding here. It is a very nice place. I found the food to be delicious. The bartenders were very good at mixing up some nice cocktails. I like the outdoor area, bar and fire pits a lot - really nice space out there. Would recommend.

I recently organized a team lunch at Glass House in Cambridge and had the pleasure of working with Shana. She was an incredibly gracious, kind, and responsive host. Planning the event with her was a breeze, and the execution was flawless. I received numerous compliments on the timeliness and quality of the food. If you're in Cambridge and need a reliable restaurant for a quick turnaround, I highly recommend Glass House!

Held a team lunch here. Service was excellent. Food choices are great with many options. We enjoyed the calamari, shrimp, soft pretzels and Mediterranean appetizers. All were very tasty. For the main meal, we had steak, Poke Bowl, Caesar Salad with Salmon, Salmon. Everyone loved their selections. Lastly, for desert we had the chocolate bread pudding and the vanilla bean crème brûlée. Yummy!! Overall, I would recommend for a great place for a team meal location.

Very pleasantly surprised by the place. Didn’t expect much going in but was blown away by the service and the food. The calamari was excellent, crispy, not over battered, bite sized pieces and juicy, the corn flatbread was amazing, wolfed it down, perfectly baked, flavorful and crispy! The French fries were thin and crispy, even the soft pretzels were fantastic, not your regular soggy ones but nice firm, toasted bread stick shaped pretzels with a nice dip to accompany it. The cocktails were great, strong. Definitely coming here for the entrees next! The service was prompt and very professional, they even went out of their way to make a custom cocktail for us.

Incredible venue and wedding experience! I selected Glass House because I had gone there for lunch multiple times and knew the space was beautiful and the service is excellent. Although it is a restaurant, it transformed into a wedding event space perfectly for our wedding in May 2024. I had a 60 person wedding with a buffet and Kristen helped us through all the steps, I can’t thank her enough. So many guests commented that it truly was the best wedding food they’ve ever had…which is usually not the case with wedding food. I felt that it was an excellent value hosting the wedding here. As the bride (writing this review from her POV), they made sure I had a special plate for food intolerances, as well a handful of guests. Every question I had Kristen helped keep everything on track. The Glass House staff during the wedding were professional and efficient, especially with the open bar. Can’t wait for our 1-year anniversary dinner here.

We hosted our wedding reception here and couldn’t have asked for a better venue! The location was lovely for photos by the Charles and the small canal with kayaks, and they were able to open up the glass doors so that the outdoor and indoor space were essentially combined. We’d had the North End buffet option which was delicious, and the bartenders and staff were all incredibly friendly. Everyone we talked to afterwards spoke about how much they enjoyed the event, and we credit that heavily to the planning and day-of help from Shauna and Kristen. We’re incredibly thankful and can’t wait to come back for some regular meals!

It's not the cheapest place but the location is awesome. Drinks are pricey but there's an very large outdoor area which is hard to find in Kendall square. Tends to have a lot of biotechnology workers on any given night.

I’ve come here several times because there is always something fantastic to pick from on the menu. I’ve gone midday, dinner time, after work drinks, and even during Dine Out week so there’s truly something for everyone. There’s great apps for sharing (unfortunately they stopped serving their poutine) and all of the cocktails hit. The price point is on the higher end, but the wait staff is always incredibly friendly and the ambiance is clean yet cozy.

In Boston for training and ordered takeout because I had some work to do back at the hotel. Service was great, especially from the bartender who processed my payment. Wagyu burger was good but too much for me to eat in one sitting. The bacon jam was a nice touch and a little sweet but not overpowering. Fries were crispy with a nice amount of salt and cheese. It was a very generous serving of fries. I would go back again to try out something smaller on the menu. Inside was nice, modern, casual vibe. About a 10 minute walk from the hotel I stayed at. Food was still quite warm when I ate it in my hotel room even though the weather outside was -8.

Housed in what once catered solely to private events, Glass House offers a serene, upscale tavern-like ambiance in Kendall Square. I first came here for a group lunch and came back to try their weekday lunch. Since the place doesn’t attract a lot of diners during lunch times, I was able to enjoy a relaxed and quiet dining experience. The outdoor patios further augmented the appeal, offering a more casual vibe. From their appetizers, the Crispy Spicy Tuna Roll was a warm introduction to the meal – crispy, flavorful, with the tang of pickled ginger and the kick of wasabi, albeit a bit on the pricier side. The Glass House Burger followed suit, simple in its essence but executed well, with juicy patties adorned with bacon jam and cheddar. However, the Poke Bowl felt disjointed – sushi rice overly saturated with miso soy dressing, mangoes lacking ripeness, and salmon diced a tad too finely. Since it was a bit pricey for a poke bowl, I had high hopes, but it was quite disappointing. Despite the uneven food experience, where Glass House truly shines is its ambiance. Its expansive feel and tranquil atmosphere make it an ideal spot for group gatherings or anyone seeking a serene space for dining or drinks. Just be prepared for a menu that might not always match up to the setting's elegance.

We were there last night to celebrate my wife’s birthday and I have to say that we were very happy with our overall experience! We started with the oysters which were just absolutely fantastic! Fresh fresh fresh!!! There selection of beer and wine was also great! For beer, you can’t go wrong with the “tank”. As for main dishes, we both had the house burger! I asked for medium but I believe they got it wrong and overcooked it. I didn’t complain to our waitress since it wasn’t her fault and she was a joy with service! I have to say that there pickled everything on the side of the burger was just great! We really liked this place and will surely be back! Lastly, thank you to our waitress and restaurant for covering our dessert (awesome bread putting and ice cream) as a birthday present!

We had a set menu for Dine Out Boston and the scallop dish was delicious! The other dishes were pretty standard Italian / American fare.

Our go-to spot around the Kendal Square area. The staff was incredibly nice and the food and drinks were great. We added fun edible glitter to our drinks and made them sparkly!

The food was good - a bit salty for my tastes - and the service, once we got some was okay. Wasn't too impressed, but it was good. We had poutine, lamb meatballs (probably the best, but only 4) and fish tacos.

Food was fantastic as was the service. The private room still did NOT afford the privacy or sound insulation from the main space. It was too loud for a private event.

Went on a Thursday night with a large group. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. First time visiting this restaurant. The cocktails were fresh and well balanced. The beer menu had a great selection of regional and national options that could satisfy most tastes. The food was good and reasonably priced for the quality and preparation. The only drawback on the evening was the service. Our group found it difficult to track down our server and had to flag down management in order to receive attention (despite a seeming abundance of servers and a half empty restaurant). Perhaps this was a fluke and not indicative of their standard operating procedure but it was a bit of a buzzkill for my group on this visit.

Went for lunch, service was attentive, nice atmosphere. Food was good, though it would have been nice if soup and salads came with some bread, as opposed to crackers with soup. Pricey, but not out of line with the rest of the area, and food was fresh.

Nice restaurant with a varied menu. It was described as American food, but really it's a bit more global feeling. Don't pass up the bread pudding dessert. Seemed a little pricey, but what isn't today? The bathroom is a little creepy with images of people with a camera and binoculars. (Because that's where you want the "You're being watched" feeling, right?)

The location and atmosphere of Glass House is exceptional! We got fish tacos, the falafel wrap and fries. The fries were one of the best I’ve had but I would have loved to have more falafel in the wrap. The tortilla of the fish tacos took away from the taste of the fish but overall everything was good. I would go back!

I went here for Valentine's Day (I'm late on posting this review, I know!) and was very impressed. Despite being busy, the service was excellent. I'm usually so unsure what to order when everything on the menu sounds good, but the waiter was helpful and honest in his suggestions on both the food and drink menu. The drinks came out about 10 minutes before the food which was great; it gave my fiance and I time to talk and catch up - time I feel like you usually don't get often at restaurants! The drinks were stellar and the food was decent. I'd like to see more options on the menu, as it did seem a bit limited especially if people had dietary restrictions. I'd love to go back here just for the drinks, but the service was great and I'd definitely like to try a few more many items. Overall: I recommend!

The Glass House was a nice local spot in the Cambridge area. My thoughts.... the overall service was ok. There wasn't anything special about it they did their job. The clam chowder, which was award winning, was good. The meatballs I felt were overcooked. The fish tacos could've used some flavor instead of so much filler. The arancini, I had better but definitely better than Eataly. The highlight of my dinner was the shrimp cocktail, steak frites, mixed berry tart, and the lechmere martini! The steak was cooked well and flavorful, and the fries had the right amount of rosemary. I left satisfied, so that's all that matters, and if I return, I know the exact meal to get 😊

Super busy on Friday at happy hour. Also really hard to find. Hidden behind the parking office. Appetizers were delicious but not spectacular. Sangria was a little watered down. It literally took close to twenty minutes for the drink to be served. Head to the Liberty hotel if you want a good Sangria. Fish tacos were crispy. The charred octopus with chimichurrri and black bean aioli was a refreshing take on octopus as a starter. Not a fan of the lamb meatballs with the salty sweet bbq sauce.

S

The chicken in the ramen soup lacked taste. It could be improved with miso glazed broiled or seared chicken. The egg in the soup is very flavorful. The Thai beef salad is overly acidic and needs some additional sweetness to balance it. The coconut gelato is good. Bread pudding is nothing special. The chicken mouse appetizer is good.

The food offering was promising and had great combination of ingredients. However, the chef didn't follow through. The food was without any "oomph". Tacos were dry and other foods lacked basic seasoning.

I have been for drinks and snacks a few times; pretty but overpriced. Nicer in outdoor weather with lively patio and corn hole or bag toss. In cooler temps bar was unaccountably reserved and waitstaff somewhat neglectful. An order of fries or other apps to share is very small, and some options were even not recommended for being smaller. large, clean bathrooms.

We had a date night here during DineOut Boston. What we liked: great ambience and well decorated. Really delicious drinks - my smoked paloma was a delight. Poutine fries were a hit and the waffles on the waffle Sunday were fresh and crispy. What we didn't like: our server wasn't great and clearly didn't know about wines (which is fine, I'd rather you just say than lie). My crab hash browns were very one note. I got a "gnocchi" dish that just crumbled immediately so it was more mashed potatoes than anything. My wife got a dry, flavorless short rib she could not finish. Very mixed experience for us, some really yummy stuff but some very questionable dishes.

J
John Hickey

Clam chowder and drinks were good. All of our other food was very bland and seemed to lack any seasoning. Even the "seasoned fries" had only a light dusting of parsley and seemingly no salt. Service was very friendly and prompt though. The location is also great with a nice outdoor patio.

Q

Not recommended! We had a subpar experience despite okay food because, 1. The restaurant did not look like the pictures at all. The space was dark, and it overall didn't feel sleek. The glass theme was not classy at all. 2. The menu didn't have pricing for beers, and a can of beer turned out to be $15. 3. The server provided lunch menu for dinner, and only realized when we ordered entrees. She took the menus away, and we were asked to re-read the menu.

The glasshouse is in a great location in Cambridge with excellent food and drinks. Upon arriving I was greeted by two Irish hosts who could not be more than accommodating. However, I brought my service dog with me whom I have proof is a service dog but the manager with dark hair could not have been more rude as she told me I could not bring my service dog in. The law clearly states that a service dog must be allowed into restaurants so I was more than displeased. I will not be returning again due to this lack of service.

J
Jerome Ryan

Glass House listed as having lunch for Dine Out 2025. When I showed up to taste their vegetarian offerings, I was told the lunch listing was a mistake. It is. unclear to me if it’s Dine Out’s mistake or the restaurant. They did not offer an alternative.
