We hosted our son’s graduation party at Buca di Beppo today and had a wonderful experience. The food and drinks were great, and the service was outstanding. Romeo and the rest of the crew went above and beyond to make our celebration special. Highly recommend!
My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Buca do beppo in Campbell, CA on December 9th at around 2.30. The service was excellent, our waiter, Joshua was great; he was attentive, checking in with us to make sure that we were doing well and if we need anything else. The food was so delicious, as always! Thank you Buca for making our celebration special!
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. There were twelve us and we had a private room. Staff was very attentive and friendly and service was excellent. We got the family style turkey dinner for six and a few dishes off the menu and had more than sufficient food. Food was hot and very good. We took several containers of leftovers home. Patricia, the GM, stopped in to see how we were doing and that we had everything we needed.
Our waiter was Romeo . He was really good , very gentle!! It was our first time trying Buca Di Peppo ! And we love it ! plates are big because are family style but shared : papardelle bolognese , chopped antipasto salad and fried mozzarella. Everything was really good !!! We definitely are gonna come back ! Happy holidays ❤️
The food was absolutely delicious with generous portions that left us more than satisfied. Our waiter, Josh, went above and beyond—he was extremely respectful, attentive, and made sure our experience was perfect from start to finish. The service, food, and atmosphere all came together to create an excellent dining experience. Highly recommend!”
This was my first visit and we had such a nice time. It was a weekend so they serve all family style dishes. This was new for us, so thankfully are wonderful server, Lydia, explained everything to us and answered a million questions. She also made sure our drinks remained full and checked in to be sure we liked what we ordered. It was just two of us so we ordered the Apple salad with Gorgonzola and then the dish that had four or five different styles of stuffed pasta. The food was delicious, no heavenly, with so much left to take home for two more full meals. Even for family style dishes, portions were super generous. Lydia made sure we had proper containers and a large bag for what he hadn’t eaten. I can’t wait to bring the entire family back. I plan to call ahead and make reservations to see if Lydia can be our server again. It’s a big yes for us.
Update: 7/7/2024: Celebrated my daughter’s birthday at Bucca’s and as always, good food and ambiance. All the staff are wonderful but our server Franco is the absolute best!!! They have large family portions, bring everyone! I recommend the stuffed shells, chicken carbonara, pene allá vodka and the baked ziti. Enjoy! Dine in (great ambiance) or sign up via email for their specials and order take out! They usually have offers like $20 off on a $40 or more purchase, 50% off pasta days, Etc. Enjoy!
Came in at 3:45pm and it was not busy yet on a Friday. Service was great!. Got this spicy chicken rigatoni and like always it was delicious. I enjoyed a cocktail and bread. To enjoy my food I like the plain warm bread. Food is in big portions but definitely worth every bite. The restaurant is a bit hidden but the area is wonderful. Plenty of stores around if there's a wait to be seated.
This review is based off of our food and service tonight, the bathroom could have used some maintenance but I’ll leave that out of my review. We had a great time and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, we had a nice time and enjoyed our dinner very much. We had a couple dishes to share, an appetizer and a dessert, all items were great!
There was a great selection of dishes for any appetite and it was delicious! The service was warm and inviting and very efficient!

It has probably been decades since we have eaten here. We made reservations for 630 on a Thursday. We ordered a bundle of Caesar salad, garlic bread and a lasagna. We also added calamari, eggplant parmesan, frutti de mare and a tiramisu. The serving size is huge, we ordered large to accommodate 7 people, we ended up taking home half of eggplant, frutti de mare and lasagna and one slice of tiramisu. It is old school Italian, heavy and a little salty. The favorite was the calamari and garlic bread. The eggplant was still a bit tough and undercooked. The lasagna had good texture but a bit too tomato sour. The frutti di mare was great in the beginning but the pasta seemed to continue to cook and got a bit mushy. Service was nice and efficient.
Buca di Beppo is definitely a must try! The food is really good, and the place is filled with interesting photos and decor to look at. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We stopped by for an early lunch and enjoyed some appetizers, but I’ve also tried their main dishes on other visits they’re always great.
A good friend of mine brought us here due to that many family owned Italian restaurants are closed on Sundays. Was not disappointed. Our food was excellent, so was the customer service. The decor inside the restaurant is entertaining as well. The food is a little overpriced, but worth it for special occasions.

When you walked in into the restaurant, makes you feel like you are somewhere in Southern Italy! The decor was very nice, very Italian, photos throughout the restaurant and small nooks and cranny’ with a table here and there! All the plate and menu items are in family style and size. A small portion will be enough for three people, large one will be enough for 5 . Service are the weak spot for the restaurant, not watching the drinks are ready for refill! We have to ask for extra napkins! This is the restaurant that can hold big parties for birthday or other events. But without improvements for service, I don’t see myself coming back at anytime soon!
I've been coming here for years, usually to celebrate a birthday or when family is in town. Since, everything is served family style it's definitely best for larger groups. My rating is loosely based on my most recent trip described below. On a recent trip, the sparkle of the place was completely diminished. We had reservations in the early evening and the place was quiet with few tables seated. However, the service was incredibly slow and our server was often scarce. The bartender had also disappeared or had not arrived yet, so it took nearly 20 minutes for two drinks. We saw our waiter eventually hop behind the bar, but when I tasted my Sangria, it tasted like a watered down flavored water. Yeah. All of the food was delicious, but it came to us after a really long wait and it was cold. The pasta was just warm, but the broccoli was straight up cold. I suspect that they were understaffed and couldn't keep up with the crowd that started to filter in as the night progressed. But cold food? That's a huge disappointment when you're spending family style prices.
For a place that is frequented by many and has been around for years, you'd think they'd have gluten free pasta options. I called the restaurant before arriving, and asked if they had gluten free/celiac friendly pasta, and they said yes, but upon arriving at the restaurant and ordering, it turns out there are only a handful of gluten free items on the menu, none of which are pasta. The gluten free items leave much to be desired. Shouldn't be that hard to have at least one gluten free pasta option, especially for an Italian family restaurant.
We did not make a reservation, not sure if that was an important factor in us having a sub-par experience. We were told the wait was 10 minutes but it ended up being closer to 20 minutes which was not really a big deal but during this time, we watched a waiter getting mad and lecturing a (I think) newer employee. After we were seated, we overheard 2 staff members complaining about covering someone's shift. To me this felt awkward especially since we were in a less crowded part of the restaurant. Feels like this conversation should be done elsewhere. The waitress took our order a little after 6PM but when we asked about the happy hour, we were told that we missed it even though the poster in the waiting area says 7PM. I know we should have shown them the poster but I was paranoid about the safety of my food if we were to do that.... My favorite part about my meal was the complimentary bread. It was soft inside and a little crunchy outside. The fried mozzarella was a little too salty. Our pasta came with a mountain of ground beef in the sauce but taste nothing special, like straight out of a jar. I guess Buca di Beppo is one of those places that people go to and get disappointed but will forget about it in a few years before the cycle continues.
My initial dislike of this place was the pricing. I saw $39.99 for chicken parmesean and almost left... but decided to stay because we already had our drinks. When the meal arrived, I was amazed by the 3 large portions of chicken parmesean. I then realized the meal is meant to be shared as it is served with platter utensils to serve others. The chicken tasted pretty good, but I tasted nothing in the marinara that was special or even tasty. The service was absolutely nothing to praise. We were not offered any bread until it was requested. Our waitress walked past our table 4X before I flagged down a waiter that had passed my table twice for a drink refill. The building and decor are dated and well worn. The bathroom was also well worn but was clean. The cushions in our booth seating literally had springs pushing up and should have been replaced years ago. The poop stains on the toilet seat were gross. I could see coming here if I had to feed the visiting grandkids or the like as the portion sizes make this place very economical when feeding (paying for) a group. Overall, I did not come with a group as it was just the two of us on a date. Since we eat out often, this place was a dud. We did not visit here to forfeit flavor for portion size. The mediocre (flat) flavor, combined with poor service and a very run-down facility, make this a disappointing visit. And what's with the head on the lazy-susan with the bust of a Pope?
This restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere for large parties. However, the quality of the food is an insult, not only to the diners, but to the standards of Italian cuisine. The best I can say is that it's filling for those who eat the food. For a party of 12, we had a huge pile of spaghetti which was topped with an insufficient amount of cheap grocery store sauce. The lasagna was dry. How does that happen? The Chicken Parm was decent, even though the chicken was dry and under seasoned. Oh, and it was no surprise to see "Kraft" parmesan cheese in a shaker on the table. The food may be a feast for the eyes, but not for the palate.

Take out order for party of 8, paid extra for chicken… there were a few pieces in the pasta. Then the spicy rigatoni had also a few pieces of chicken and dried out noodles.. some were pale with no sauce! This is my first time ordering since my last time when the bread slices they gave me had MOLD!!!
This place is massively overpriced. None of it is actually worth the price. The portions are big, the small is for about 3 people and a large for 5. I don't know if bland covers it? We ordered the chicken lemone, and we decided to share it. 3 pieces came in still white, not golden, by any means the lemon sauce was butter and egg? We had to order a side of pasta (another $30) because our plate was only 3 pieces of chicken no sides. My wife threw it up halfway down to the parking lot. My friend ordered the chicken Alfredo it was alright and another friend ordered the lasagna he said it was mainly pasta not much meat or cheese. We also ordered the mozzarella caprice $30 for one tomato cut into 6 slices with 6 pieces of mozzarella drizzled in olive oil and a few leaves of basil. I understand that's the dish but for $30, we expected more. The carpet is disgusting that should of been our cue to get out but everything was basically closing so we decided to stay and give it a shot needless to say it was a regretful decision. We're from Texas and Carabas has better food and prices.
Terrible service, and not just because they were slow, inattentive, and overpriced. The bad experience started the moment we entered the restaurant. (1) We had a reservation for 8:15pm but they said we had to wait 45min and that they would text us. (2) They never texted so we went back and they said they had called our name so we had to wait another 15min standing up. We were able to get a table at around 9:15pm. (3) They lied about having a special menu after handing us special menu cards at our table, when we ordered they said they were out of it. (4) They didn’t bring water to us at the table. (5) First “italian” restaurant where they don’t give bread for appetizer. (6) Waiter never came back to check on us. A different waiter brought us our food. (7) We asked for to go box and they took another 15min to bring the check. (8)They advertise regular portion as feeding 3-4 people but it was just enough for 2. (9) overpriced and misleading advertised large portion (10) Food is 3 star quality at a 5 star price. The sauce and chicken for their carbonara was pretty good but the noodles tastes like grocery store spaghetti
We stopped by last night around 8:30 PM on Friday with our family, including two kids. The hostess initially asked us to wait for about 10 minutes, but after coming back she said the restaurant was fully booked and that the wait could be 10, 20, or even 30 minutes. The response felt dismissive, and it seemed our presence with a tired, hungry toddler may have influenced the interaction. What stood out was that another party arriving shortly after us was greeted warmly. I have never had a similar experience at other restaurants. This didn’t sound right. I won’t go here again.
