This was a fabulous dining experience. I've never had Austrian food before but I will definitely be back. The sausage trio was spicy and flavorful and so was their salad of the day with prosciutto, pear and goat cheese. The schnitzel was lightly breaded , the perfect amount and it went well the the berry sauce. I loved the cabbage wrapped meat as well. Very flavorful and not too heavy. Their apple strudel is to die for. Perfect service.
Amazing food. Open to customization for allergies and vegetarian options Only thing is that it was cold where we were sitting, but looks like most restaurants now have both open and indoor sitting, so they cannot close the door fully.
We had a 90th Birthday Party of 20 people for my mom at our home. ****Menu**** -Kraut Rouladin on cream leek w/veg topped with beef demi glace -Sauerbrauten roast with gravy- special order -Spaetzel -Red Cabbage -Pretzels for the bread -Apfel strudel , with choice of whip cream or ice cream Amazing flavours, temps, and attention to every detail and no short cuts on any of the food or sauces.
Great place for a celebration. We went for my husband's birthday and had a delightfully delicious time. We thoroughly loved the beef goulash, the Jager schnitzel, and the dessert souflee.
My wife and I decided to try Naschmarkt for our 36 year anniversary dinner. Man-o-man, I'm glad we decided to try Naschmarkt! We had the pan seared scallops appetizer to share, and we both really enjoyed every bite. My wife chose the smoked chicken spatzle, and a side of Brussels sprouts for her meal. I opted for the daily special which was a well brined, bone-in double-thick cut pork chop served over a bed of sauerkraut, fingerling potatoes, and a sausage. For dessert we shared a warm apple strudel with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream! Everything was AMAZING! The ambiance was very comfortable and enjoyable. They have an enclosed patio with heaters, but you can get a table inside also, or choose to sit at the bar. The service was amazing, and very attentive. I must say, we will definitely be back to try more dishes! I can safely say my meal was the best pork chop I have ever had! We were able to find free parking in a nearby lot, with a 2 minute walk to the restaurant. All in all this was a fabulous leisurely meal, with very kind and attentive staff.
We just had the most perfect meal here, four people, including one vegetarian. Great mixed drinks and wine, amazing jager schnitzel, sacher torte, wienerschnitzel, soup and seafood. It was just a delicious meal.
My first experience with Austrian food and the server made sure I knew everything about it. She was patient to answer all the questions I had about the food and the culture. We order house special of spicy fennel sausage. It is the best sausage i have ever tasted. Schnitzel and salmon were great too. Dessert was a bit lower in comparison to rest of the food. Would definitely recommend.
Naschmarkt absolutely blew us away with its quality, presentation, and flavors. Every dish we tried was a standout. The creamy mushroom sauce with broccolini was rich and perfectly balanced, and the accompanying pasta was cooked to perfection. The scallops were beautifully seared and paired with a vibrant, sweet mango purée that made each bite pop. The arugula salad with feta and tomato sauce was fresh and flavorful—a great contrast of textures and tastes. Service was attentive and warm without being overbearing, and the ambiance was upscale yet relaxed. You can tell they put a lot of thought into both their menu and plating. Thanks for accommodating well after closing time. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion. We'll definitely be back!
Ok... I love it when you have high expectations of a place, and they meet and exceed them! I got the scallops, beet salad and goulash... Each item a memorable moment. But the goulash... it's perfection. Your mouth wants for nothing... Order it, you'll never be dissappointed... if you've had better, your Austrian Grand Mother must have been a wonderful cook!!!
Naschmarkt Restaurant in Campbell, California, is a culinary treasure that brings the flavors of Austria and Europe to the heart of the Bay Area. This charming eatery provides a warm, inviting atmosphere and exceptional service, making it a delightful spot for any dining occasion. During our visit, we enjoyed a variety of dishes that showcased the restaurant’s expertise in European cuisine. The Mushroom Soup was rich and velvety, with deep, earthy flavors that were both comforting and indulgent. It was a perfect starter, warming us up and setting the stage for the rest of our meal. The Goat Cheese Purse Salad was a fresh and flavorful start to our meal. The warm goat cheese, wrapped in delicate pastry, complemented the crisp greens and light vinaigrette beautifully, offering a harmonious blend of creamy, tangy, and crunchy elements. The Pretzel, served warm with a delicious cheese sauce, was a delightful addition. The pretzel was soft and perfectly salted, and the creamy cheese sauce provided a wonderful savory dip that made this simple appetizer feel special. The Jäger Schnitzel was another highlight. This dish featured a perfectly breaded pork cutlet topped with a savory mushroom sauce that was rich and earthy. The schnitzel was cooked to golden perfection, with a crisp exterior and tender interior, making every bite a pleasure. The Spätzle paired with Beef Goulash was a standout. The beef, cooked to tender perfection, was immersed in a rich and flavorful goulash sauce that was both hearty and comforting. The spätzle, soft and perfectly textured, served as an excellent accompaniment, soaking up the delicious sauce and adding a delightful chewiness to the dish. For dessert, the Salzburger Nockrl was exceptional. Served warm with and fluffy vanilla souffle with blueberry compote. It was a perfect end to our meal. The accompanying vanilla ice cream added a creamy contrast, enhancing the overall experience and leaving us thoroughly satisfied. In summary, Naschmarkt Restaurant offers an outstanding dining experience with its exquisite Austrian and European dishes, cozy ambiance, and excellent service. Each dish is crafted with care and attention to detail, ensuring a memorable meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a taste of Europe in the Bay Area!
This place is so good. Best pretzel you can find around here. The first time we came I got the schnitzel which was delicious, filling but not heavy. This last time we came I got the chicken pot pie which was great. The real star of the meal though was my drink, the "Sweet 'ol' fig fashioned" which was soooo delicious. Everything here has been great and we will definitely be back
Went to Nashmarkt for the second time in two weeks today. The service is great and they offer indoor or outdoor seating (though outdoor is enclosed by three walls and plastic on the outside). Appetizer:: Homemade pretzel Entrees:: Hungarian goulash Jager Schnitzel Beef stroganoff (monthly special, Feb) Kraut Rouladen Double pork chop (monthly special, Jan) The pretzel was fine (nothing especially good or bad) though my group really liked the cheese sauce -- said it reminded them of Swiss-style cheese fondue. Hungarian goulash is a must-get IMO. We've had three orders over two trips and both times the meat was tender and it was a top 2 dish for everyone. We tended to vote the monthly specials as #1, though part of that is because of the rarity. No matter when you go, include the goulash. Rouladen was better the second time. At first it struck me as slightly less flavorful, though I found the more subtle flavors to be refreshing the second visit. Jager Schnitzel- the pictures probably don't do it justice. It looks like a lot of schnitzel you've seen before, though there were subtle notes of flavor and the meat was super tender.
Wonderful experience! We made a reservation, but it seemed to have seats for walk-in on Sunday evening. The waiters were very friendly, polite and attentive. We had the spicy paprikawurst, Kraut Rouladen, and the special dessert Eis Kuchen (pistachio inside and berries on top). The food came super fast and the utensils were changed for every dish. Everything was tasty! We finished everything.
It is at Campbell downtown. I am so happy for trying out this place. It was my first time and I can say I would be surely visiting again. I wanted to share my experience with everyone . The food was so good ! Really delicious and I felt food was really fresh. The ambience is good. One thing that impressed most was the staff everyone was friendly and cared. Sometimes only the person serving you attends you but here I felt they had good teamwork. We tried 2 main courses, grilled swordfish and Jager schnitzel with Austrian beer. Please try the restaurant. The price might feel too expensive but for the quality and the quantity served I would say it is fairly reasonable. Most main dish around range of 30$.
Great spot for a date night. We ordered the pretzel, sausage of the day, beef goulash, apple strudel, and blueberry souffle. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The apple strudel is a must, it comes warm with a crispy crust served with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and slivered almonds. Portions are not big, we easily finished everything we ordered with no leftovers. They have about 6 outside tables looking out to downtown Campbell.
Nice dining experience in the $40-$60 range. The service was excellent with quick and attentive service. The appetizers were a little small but the entrees were quite generous. We got the goulash, rouladen, Weiner schnitzel, and the pork belly. All of which were enjoyable with the goulash being our favorite. I would come back for sure.
We had a wonderful evening with Bob as our phenomenal waiter! When it comes to cuisine, I trust Bob absolutely! All the dishes we ordered were divine, our cocktails hit the spot, and the dessert was really unique and special! Highly recommended for a lovely date night or special occasion!
I was expecting original Austrian food . Was disappointed . I thought the sausages would be made in house along with the pasta . It was ok but have had better at home . I was hoping for Hungarian Austrian cooks . But like most places now are non English speaking but taletend cooks from Mexico. No original chefs here Service was exceptional however .
I was really excited to come here, being a huge fan of schnitzel of all kinds. Unfortunately, service was insanely slow - it took about 1.25 hours for our food to arrive after we ordered. Our waiter kept telling us our order was almost ready, and it kept not coming. We were told the manager would come talk to us about it, but he only asked how the food was and made no attempt to apologize for the agonizingly long wait. On the plus side, they did not charge us for dessert. In terms of the food, the goulash, swordfish, and pork, belly were reported by my tablemates to be good, but the goulash portion was a bit small. I was pretty disappointed with the jaeger schnitzel, which was not breaded; to me, this is what makes schnitzel so good, so the fact that a bona fide Austrian restaurant did not bread their cutlets was gobsmacking. For the cost per plate, I was not impressed. Our waiter felt really badly and we understood that this situation was not his fault. But the achingly long wait, combined with the high prices and middling quality, strongly suggest that I will not be returning here in the future.
I dined here solo and had dreadful single-patron discrimination service. I noticed many people around me getting refined service, and then when they approached me was like “are you ready to order.” Terrible. If you don’t want singles dining you should let them know and put tables in the back by the dumpsters.
