Pollo loco is always good but it's even better when the service is great. I asked for fresh salsa n i got it in a few seconds..awsome!! And they even cleaned the floor and took out trash n cleaned tables as soon as ppl were done eating. My favorite pollo loco for years!! It was fast and very clean inside. I ordered a family meal for our family and my kids love the rice and tortillas.
I cannot express my happiness with the service and the delicious food . I love all pollo loco but this is one of the best places due to the outstanding service and location . The atmosphere is great and close to the mall so convenient.

I Absolutely LOVE this location, the staff is always pleasant AND smiling, the place is always clean, the food is ALWAYS Fresh ... Simply the BEST el pollo loco I’ve ever visited (& I visit a lot). The most caring and sincere staff they are always the sweetest of people-I eat here daily). The food is quality and the prices are fair. The restaurant is always super clean. I stopped coming to this location due to the service being horrible years ago. But I recently decided to give this location a chance again, and it payed off. Service was top notch and the employees are very friendly. Management must be doing a wonderful job!!

I came in super late (within 15 minutes of closing), even with the late hour I was greeted warmly and made me feel comfortable. The food was good, portions a little inconsistent, but I expected that with the late hour, what I didn't expect was the amount of salsa they would give me 😊
This place has very poor customer service. You figure if you close at 10:30 pm you would have condiments to pair with your food. They had condiments for the chicken soup as well. The chicken was half cooked. The staff had a competition on who could cut the chicken up faster. Absolutely ridiculous. You need a manager on site. The place was filthy. In addition you're on the clock do your job.
Fast and easy service, it has a drive through, (not all Pollo loco’s have the luxury of drive through unfortunately.) The line was long, and cars were sticking out toward the intersection of the street, other than that they managed to move the line quickly. The person at the drive through window was pleasant. Also, the chicken was moist and tender, not every pollo loco knows how to cook their chicken like this. Delicious!
Bacon ranch salad is the bomb. Best salad ever.
The Staff here are very friendly, the manager welcomes you as you come in and thanks you as you leave. The food is fresh off the grill and very tasty. I had a two piece combo and the chicken was super juicy. The Restaurant is super clean including the restrooms. Keep up the great work guys will see y'all soon!
Employees are always nice...just don't try to have a conversation in rush hour....but other than that food service was great

You can never go wrong with Pollo Loco that's for sure. Besides the whole family meal, we will get the double chicken tostada salad, burritos, now tacos, & even the plain side salad is refreshing

Gotta start by saying that this El Pollo Loco in Downey looks super modern, wish all Pollo Locos looked like this one. I tried the Chicken Habanero Tostada, and I gotta say its a win. It was a nice change-up from my usual Chicken avacodo Tostada. Only thing... My chicken was a little cold. Still good, but could've been warmer
Good food friendly employees. Parking is midsize but be aware it's a one way in one way out spot. I just noticed they have kiosks so you take your time ordering and it's very easy to use with pictures. During lunch hour and dinner hour it gets very busy in there. Do the fact it's next to the mall and there's a couple hotels around there. And please do us a favor when you're exiting with your car stay on the far right. one car stayed in the middle waiting for the light to turn green and it just cost big traffic on both ends ><.
Mexican Cabb salad was really good with the dressing. Delicious chicken restaurant with a good variety of food. Unfortunately this location counts with just a few tables. You have to wait for someone to get up and leave. This places is really good very similar to Pollo Campero. Very accesible and really close to stonewood mall.
I'm always on hurry... I like to order from the app..(there it's no difference now) becuse always get something wrong when order drive trhu. Like I ask for beans and get rice (most of the time) not only once ... Also they forget to put forks on the bag,Receipt. And drink.. Today I paid Xtra for large drink and don't get noting at all. Food is good but they need check if the order its complete before take it to the customer

This place is a hit or miss. When it’s good the chickens are great and when they miss the chickens are so dry that it might be sold as jerky. When it’s busy service really is lacking and soda machine gets neglected so no full selection. I would recommend this place during the off peak times. Try to come an hour before lunch or dinner time.
It's starting to get a bit irritating when you decide to order at any location. One runs out of chicken, the other runs out of mac'n'cheese or mashed potato. Or you get the employees forgetting to put one of your orders. You feel like you're part of the company checking your bag making sure your order was correct. It's good food but they need to work on food inventory if they know they run out.
Great experience, but not to many pollo loco warm up the pollo on the chicken salad
Visiting from another state and it wasn't a nice time but the kids were hungry and the line wasn't that long so we we gave it a try. Tried ordering and everything we wanted they didn't have enough to fill the sides. Drive up teller was a little unfriendly as if it was funny that they didn't have it. At the window the two that took my order were acting as if I was their problem and I was the inconvenience. 3 stars are for my kids that enjoyed the chicken
The drive thru always seems to take forever. I've also noticed that if you go later at night, they give you the funky burnt chicken. I've been disappointed more than a couple of times when I've gotten home and opened my container and found really crispy, over-dried chicken. I think if you inspect your chicken before driving away and let them know, they'll fix it for you, though. Having said that, I think it's one of the few healthier options in the area.
I am giving three stars on this review because at least I received my order! At 10:30 am today the drive through was closed off and a sign on the door said the dining room was closed. I placed an order for curbside pickup and when the lady came out I asked what was going on and she said they literally had no employees! Maybe it's time to close up for good if you have no workers. That is terrible!
Good customer service but management could do a better job with ordering items for their business. A lot of time they are lacking ingredients to sell certain menu items. Drive through could also be managed a bit more effectively; it can get overwhelmingly congested.

I ordered a two piece meal with some macaroni and cheese with some orange rice but their soda machine was down.
They opened 8 minutes late. It should have opened at 10:00 a.m. but didn't open until 10:08 a.m. This really matters when I have to get myself on the road to get to work. Then none of the staff were at the counter to take my order cause they were too busy in the back talking to each other. Finally, 10 minutes later someone came to help and then told me "just use the kiosk" I told them I tried but it wasn't accepting cash and they said "Oh yeah it's broke" Then she walked away to go to the back to talk again. Finally, someone came 5 minutes later to take my order. It took a total of 35 minutes to get my food. If you're in a hurry I suggest going somewhere else to it.
Salsa with bubbles will make your tummy bubble for sure. Cashier didn’t want to take my $100 bill. Kept asking if I had a smaller bill, I did not. Then she was asking if I had a card, Apple Pay or another option- I said sorry I only had cash. Then the manager came over to ask “don’t you have a card?” Again sorry, I only have cash….. rolls their eyes, mumbled something and then handed me cash with no receipt, so I counted the cash and said “excuse me, I’m short $20” they said “no that’s right?” I said “can I see the receipt?” They rolled their eyes, gave out a loud sigh handed me the $20, no receipt. I just left it wasn’t that big a deal. But the salsa definitely was bad and we didn’t notice will after we had put it on our tacos. Ugh.
I will never order the chicken tinga burrito, It was hard to eat too much salt and $9 and change. The chicken mainly salty. I had to throw it away i should it stick with the usual. What happened? I love pollo loco but today i was very disappointed.
They don't have anything to sell ever. I been here multiple times and they don't have "chicken" 🤔🤦🏻♂️. Today they didn't have salsa (any), corn tortillas, rice, taquitos. And on top of that they drive through people have an attitude because you order items that contain any of the items they ran out of. They don't offer to make it without it, they just tell you they don't that that either. Why not just close at this point, 8 pm on a Friday. All bad.
I have been here twice in the last month. First time I wanted chicken avocado burrito but they had no shredded chicken. Disappointed but things happen. Went again yesterday and this time they had no avacado or guacamole. Both times went in afternoon. I won't be going back.
The food just like at any other pollo loco is great. The workers are friendly. The only reason why I gave it a 2 is because this place is always freezing!! Like seriously, take the temperature up a notch. I've personally heard other patrons complain about the same thing.

Went today for the first time to this location. I ordered 10pcs leg and thigh and only gave me 9pcs, payed for tortillas and NO tortillas in the bag and my tostada salad fell apart because the tostada shell was all broken.
The service at this Downey location has gotten bad. They're understaffed and barely managed with new people. They obviously have a high turnover of employees there. Last 3 times I've been there the wait to receive my food took longer then what should be normal and then the order was wrong each time. Usually some ingredient is missing. One time I ordered a Chicken Tostada Salad and it was missing the chicken. 🤦♂️. Two stars because the food was still tasty. Hopefully other locations are better then this one.
Where is the chicken in the classic tostada salad? We ordered four of them. Maybe 5-6 tiny chicken pieces. Tostada lacked rice & beans. Also ordered family meal, 16 pieces of legs & thighs and only received 14! I need to take my money somewhere else.
This pollo loco is notorious for always running out of chicken during peak times, they are located on a high visibility, high traffic corner. Management needs to plan accordingly, worst times are lunch 11AM to 1PM and the Dinner rush between 5PM and 7PM, I have always had trouble during those times, mind you it can be a hit or miss. When they get super busy they forget about the dining area, expect overflowing trash cans, dirty tables and a lack of lids, straws, napkins, etc. Wait times can be up to 25 minutes for chicken if you are buying multiple pieces, I am not sure how that works with someone trapped in their drive through. My note to management is plan for these peak times a bit better. Today I called before driving over for a 10 piece meal and sure enough they had none available, drove to the Garfield/Imperial Hwy. location instead.
Love the food but service is absolutely horrible, they are in a very busy street and get rushes all the time and they loose focus on the inside orders and only focus on drive thru, I know this isn’t the lady’s that works there fault but it’s the owners, do better and higher more people if you know it gets so fucking busy, and make the app work to, I try ordering my food and using my promo codes but it never works forcing me to come in.
Usually a good eat and fast. But we ordered online for a Birthday Celebration and the order wasn't ready, probably will never cater from them again. They were really rude when we arrived and didn't want to do our large order even tho we had a confirmation. We had to speak to a manager to get our order.
Dine in took 23 minutes to get our food. The lady in front of me in line left, muttering how they NEVER have legs or thighs available. Lo and behold, it would have been another 25 minutes to wait on top? Heck no... The restaurant itself was not well cleaned or maintained. Find a nicer location to enjoy the great chicken.
For someone with gastrointestinal issues, Pollo Loco sounds like a good idea but depending on what issues you have the citrus and acidic toppings such as Pico de Gallo or even their lime drizzled chicken can cause issues. Also it's really hard to customize orders. From my experience workers will shut down the option or they'll take the order but not customize it at all. I ordered mashed potatoes without gravey due to my gastritis issue and unfortunately my order had gravey. So just a heads up, it's something to think about.
As we ordered it took about 33 minutes to receive our dinner I guess we should have went through the drive through because they were more concerned about the cars being backed up
I don’t think I will be going back to this place, I was on the drive thru for over 45 minutes, although there were only a few cars, unfortunately I was stuck and couldn’t leave, just when there was only a car ahead of me, an employee came to inform me that they had ran out of chicken and that it was going to take 45 minutes to 1 hour if I wanted to order some, I was like WTH, why didn’t someone came to tell us this before. so the person in front of me and all the people behind us wasted over 45 minutes for nothing.
I'm really dissatisfied with pollo loco, I didn't receive half of my order. Chips & guac along with a large side of Mac and cheese. Out of all the times I've been to pollo loco this is the most disappointing one. Not to mention they always forget the chips and guac, not just this one but all other locations.
I ordered 3 Chicken Avocado Quesadillas on drivethru from this location. I got home and recieved quesadillas that were cold and had absolutely nothing but lettuce and tomato. They always mess up my orders everytime i go. I wonder how many complaints theyve gotten due to the fact that ive always gone and had a horrible experience. The manager needs to tell the staff members to do everything right because they do the exact opposite
Last time I come to this location. Prepare to wait a LONG time to order in the drive thru. Line moves do SLOW and they are not understaffed. Taking my time and going a bit further down to buy chicken.
Just placed a order, burned chicken. Paid for a Loco side salad, and a Avocado Mango chicken salad, they didn't include it in the order. Called multiple times during business hours, no one answers. They seemed to rushed the order, very unpleasant experience..
Poor service all the way around. Had to wait for my food for 1 hr and 30 min. They did not have any salsa. Manager never came out. Everyone in line talking bad about the service. And she never came out. ...just horrible
Bought 3 tortilla soup paid 20.00 only to get 3 bowls of water no vegetables, returned 1back horrible service, the other 2 were thrown out, never buy there again. First time customer and last.
So upsetting when you wait 20 minutes in the drive thru and try to order a Fit Pollo Bowl and they say “Sorry we are not making any Pollo Bowl or burritos we can only make whole family chicken meals and side orders” We don’t have any chicken to put in the bowl WHAT THE HECK! “We didn’t get our shipment in 🤦🏻♀️ This is horrible and unacceptable. It’s not the first time this happens. Not sure who’s managing or running this Pollo Loco location, but something needs to change. Poor customer service....
Is there any way to give less than one star? This used to be my go to Pollo Loco years back. I don't know what happened but staff is rude and the food is horrendous. I take my family to the one at 11473 Rosecrans Ave, in Norwalk now, it's a little farther but they have much better service and food. I even let them know that we appreciate their service. (Owner/management take note, you are loosing business).
My husband and I were planning to dine-in at 5pm yesterday. We walked in to see a long line and customers with disappointed &/or upset faces. There was only 1 cashier taking orders. Drive thru line wasn’t long as it usually is. We walked out after only waiting in line for 10 minutes because 3 other customers/orders walked out mumbling their complaints. We stopped eating at this location for a while now (years) because of the long lines and constant mistakes made when ordering at the drive thru. Approximately 2 months ago, we dined-in and while placing the order, a lady in the back was shouting so loud that when the cashier was repeating the order to me I yelled out ‘I’m sorry I can’t here you’! After when dining-in other customers commented ‘Wow that’s nice, it’s so quite now’. Great food but definitely needs proper management help.
I went to this location to check if the customer service had improved and decided to order thru the app, I do remember the Drive thru was the worst of any food establishment I have visited. Wait times were insane. The app ordering system turn out to be worst than the Drive thru experience. I order my food at 3:10pm and didn't receive my order till 3:45pm. I also want to mention that I had to call the store to check on the status of the order. I got thru the phone after 5 attempts to get someone to answer the phone. Worst experience I have ever had with any fast food establishment, I do believe that El pollo loco has changed my mind and now I hate it so much that I'm gonna spread the word to stay away to all my colleagues, do not visit this location. Did I mention the attitudes you encounter?! WORST POLLO LOCO EVER.
I live near by and EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO TO THIS EL POLLO LOCO THEY FIND A WAY TO MESS UP MY ORDER. Either the chickens under cooked or over cooked. Or they don't put my sid orders in the bag. Tonight I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and a tostada, the tostada tasted stale and the Tortilla soup didn't come with tortillas or the cheese or the Cilantro.... this is a horrible location.
this was a bad experience from beginning to end. we placed an online order and expected to go inside to pick it up. the front door was locked and all the employees ignored me knocking on the windows. we had to jump in the drive thru which took so long as well. we asked for salsa and napkins but we didn't receive either in the bag. i won't be stopping to get food at this location in the future.
This pollo loco had no options for the side dishes. I waited almost 30 min to get my food. My chicken tortulla soup was mostly broth and my flour tortillas were hard. The lobby was dirty and the employees were arguing infron of the customers
I'm a pollo loco loving fan and all I can say by far this is the most dirty place I've ever seen. Cashier was clueless I think she is new. But still.. Food took long. & this place needs to get cleaned. Salsa bar was gross and this homeless lady was grabbing stuff from it with filthy hands. Disgusting. Lost my appetite. =/
This by far has been the worst pollo loco experience ever. My sister and I dropped by today and had to get another customer who was in the middle of their meal to open the door for us as it was locked DURING BUSINESS HOURS. While waiting for our meal i then noticed everyone’s food was coming out so I asked the cashier Lorena what was going so she responds “we’re waiting on more chicken” which wouldn’t have been a bad response had she not snickered at me trying to be funny. Not to point out more than 2 customers were complaining to her about incorrect orders. As I went back to waiting she kept her nasty attitude at other customers which led to one requesting to speak to a manager. Once I got my food she Didint give me tortillas which my sister asked for and she nearly yelled at her “ I know”! Lastly the place really needs sanitation and overall need to hire workers with respect.
Currently standing in the downey location and I stood here for 10 mins without being greeted. I had to physically ask for help before anyone took my order. It was so unorganized, messy and extremely unprofessional. They ran out of ice for their drinks and as I was standing here, the ran out of black beans. New management seriously needs to be considered for this location. It never fails that something goes wrong with my order...I almost always never get my full order. They forgot something to put something in the bag every time. I this is the worst location and unfortunately the only one close to me.
Horrible location, always serve dry burn chicken, always gets orders wrong, machines are always malfunctioning if it’s not one thing it’s another like getting the order wrong, management is super rude will keep you waiting and just not even be apologetic after they completely mess up, wish there was a closer location, never coming here again, oh and they close the lobby by 3pm how stupid is that only if there is no customers there? Then don’t claim the lobby is open for dinning at all! Drive thru takes 30-50 mins not exaggerating at any time of the day, I can’t believe corp or company has not interfered.
I loved this place until tonight I was treated like trash. My food was cold I was not giving a cup for my drink I paid for I asked for no sour cream or pico they put it on my salad anyway. My food was cold and I only live one minute away. The daytime service is awesome the nighttime women are rude disrespectful and plain mean. I eat hear every week. This is clearly my last time.
Absolutely horrendous service. This location has almost nothing available when you want to order it. Not even CHICKEN! They almost always get the order wrong and take forever when you order it. I have had consistently BAD service when I visit this location. I ordered from the app this weekend and they did not have the item so they were not able to refund me. Not only that but there was a line of customers waiting for their food outside but the doors were locked. After about 30 mins of waiting outside someone finally comes out to say that if you order from the app, you have to wait in the drive thru... Who wants to wait in the drive thru when they've been waiting outside and have been ignored for 30-45 mins already? And then to tell us that the item isnt available! On my confirmation email from El Pollo Loco it specifically says that if you want a refund or have a problem with the online order to call the store directly but the employee sends someone who comes out to say that they do not know how to give a refund and have to email El Pollo Loco?? I have called multiple times a day for many days and no one picks up. I have tried to contact El Pollo Loco through their website and of course it takes time. I got my refund back from the bank because I never received my refund and was never able to speak to anyone regarding a refund. I do not blame the employees that have to deal with disgruntled customers. I feel bad that the staff have to come out to face getting yelled at but it is obviously the management and owner's fault they cannot figure out how to run a fast food chain. 0/10!!!! I will never come back here ever again. To the owner: in regard to your reply, you must not have read my review because I said I already contacted El Pollo Loco through the website and still have gotten no response. I already got my refund from the bank so no need to deal with your incompetent management and shady business ever again.
I went through the drive thru last night and when I got home, the order was all wrong and the chicken was barely warm. I called the store over and over but there was no answer. I called again and spoke with the manager who apologized and asked me to come back and they would replace the meal. I get to the store and go inside this time. After a few minutes the girl comes back with a manager and tells me they will not replace my order and that they had already replaced it 3 times! I told them that last night was the first time I had been there in at least a year and went through all the things they got wrong with the order. The girl then says "oh you came through the drive thru?" And then turns to the manager and says "then it wasn't him". No apology or anything. They just gave me my food and I left. This was embarrassing and beyond unprofessional calling me out in front of a packed restaurant like I'm some sort of low life trying to get free food!
Gave this place one last chance the food and customer service is horrible... they don't ask you if you want your receipt back and they seemed rushed all the time... I don't even know why I tried it, today the chicken was rubbery and they got my order wrong but yet charged my card for what I had ordered even though items were missing. Will take a longer drive to the one on Rosecrans at least they have better customer service and are friendly...

I went there 1 hour before close and they greeted me by saying "Welcome to El Pollo Loco, we are out of all our salsas and all food except family meals, do you still want to order". I have been to this location several times and at least half the time they are out of something. I will never return!
This El Pollo Loco is terrible! Went here today, as I only wanted a pollo bowl combo, and thought maybe it would not be too bad. Again, it turned out to be a horrible decision. Took 20 minutes to order and receive my pollo bowl combo order (this was the only thing I ordered). There were only 2 people ahead of me in line when I got to the restaurant. When my order was finally completed and ready to go, I was told they had no house or pico de gallo salsa, only green salsa (yet I found out when I got home, my pollo bowl contained some pico salsa). They also did not have any unsweetened ice tea or even tropical tea (either out in the dining area, or behind the counter for drive thru customers). When I asked to speak to the manager about all of this, the managers reply was only that she was sorry. Do your yourself a favor, and don't go to this location. Drive the extra 2 miles and go to the El Pollo Loco location on Rosecrans in Norwalk. They are a much better run store, and you won't have these issues.
Was very unhappy with this location. In the last 3 weeks ( on 4 separate occasions) have gone between the hours of 4pm and 6pm and they don't have chicken. There is a 45 minute wait for chicken. I have ordered the classic chicken taco and they never have them. I don't understand how they don't have the items on the menu. Manager has an attitude and she is not very helpful.
Sept 29 @ 11:40am stopped to get the summer family meal. I was informed in the drive thru that they did not have chicken just meat for burritos. Don’t come here if you want chicken for lunch on a week day. Los pollos on Florence & paramount doesn’t have that problem go there instead. You will leave with good chicken !
I have never been to a Pollo Loco that has been as rude as this one. I ordered ahead of time and got there 20 minutes after and Diana kept pushing my pickup aside saying it wasn’t ready repeatedly. I saw an employee put some bags down and when i asked if they happen to be mine they just pushed the bags to me without saying anything. It was very rude. Don’t come here if you want warm food as well.
Very poor service..waited 29 minutes for our food..their were only 2 orders before us..yet there were 3 employees behind the counter just talking and standing around. When the food finally was ready, my husband asked for a hotter salsa, one of employee (brooklyn) showed him a package of a hot sauce, he asked for a fresh made ..the employee replied " this is what we have, do you what it or not"? This has been probably one of the worse experiences we've ever had, we will not be returning to this location.
I dont usually write review but I order a double chicken tostada with extra chicken. Came home, the tostada literally fell apart. No extra chicken. It did not taste fresh. I tried calling the restaurant 4 times to give them a feedback. A man answered the phone with a simple "Hello" instead of, Thank you for calling "El Pollo Loco". I asked politely may I speak with a manager and then he hangs up. Everytime I kept calling back, same thing kept happening. I have ate here before and never experienced any problems till now.
Always get my order wrong. I asked for a classic burrito and they put avocado and pico de gallo in it. Which I didn’t ask for and I don’t like. I also asked for a Taco Al Carbon plain but they put onions and cilantro. This probably the 3rd or 4th time they mess up my order. Going to a different location from now on
Most of the time they don't have salsas. And when they do have salsas they act like your asking them for a dollar.
I called before driving over, but they never answer the phones. Then I arrived an hour before close, only to find out they had already closed the drive-through and the location. There is no way to find out whether or not they’re open except to drive to the location. At $6 an hour for fuel, it’s too much. This is REALLY unacceptable. They need new management. You don’t make your customers spend loads on fuel just to find out the location isn’t even open during business hours. Answer the phones, and change the hours online if you are not open. This is really disrespectful to customers. It’s not difficult to change the hours online.
Worst customer service ever! Not sure if I was more upset with myself for visiting this Pollo Loco location or their management. I just thought I would give them a second chance after their remodel. I was in the drive-thru line for almost 30 minutes last night (8:36 pm), August 1, when I realized how long everyone was taking to order. I asked the employee taking out the trash if there was anything going on and asked why it was taking so long, he said he didn't know. I got to the window at 9:11/9:16pm, ordered a 14 piece... NO CHICKEN!!! This explained why the customers ahead of me had to revise their order and were forced to purchase something else from the menu. I asked the employee taking orders if he realized how many cars they had in the drive-thru. He didn't seem to care. At this point I was locked in and could not go anywhere, which forced me to do their job for them and let the eight cars behind me know that they were out of chicken. I wish I could give them a ZERO rating. Sorry Pollo Loco... I would think that your exterior remodel would have also included an upgrade in customer service!!! Customer service satisfaction and training comes from upper management. Yelp review forthcoming!
I hate doing this but I've tried, oh how I've tried. Been here maybe five times, all times I've either waited for what feels eternal, received the wrong order or came up with nothing because they ran out of food? Not to mention waiting for what feels like eternity and get nothing. I'm sure the employees are okay, can't say because I've never had the pleasure to meet them(all drive through experiences). Management needs to get it together. I wish them the best but I won't be around to see it.
They say they open at 10am but im sitting waiting on them to open 10:05am and still not open...
Went in to order, I thought it will be faster to get my meal since inside looked empty and I was on my lunch brake. Young workers taking forever to take an order, poor customer service, at the time of the worker getting my meal ready kept going in circles to get it ready. Took him like 15 min to end up getting the chicken from a keep warm container. Poor service. So disappointed of this place, need to train workers on getting orders and food fast to customers. Food tasted good, this review is just for their poor service Not the first time it happens
Poor service... 2 tortillas four a 4pc meal, no napkins, didn't ask about chicken breast or leg and tigh, they just give you whatever they want...
I tried giving El Pollo Loco one more chance first you’re not able to talk to anyone you have to use a machine to order. Second purchase three Burritos, and they did not have rice, and little beans lots of salad and sauce. That is not same Burrito I purchase in other el pollo locos locations. Always the Downey location. Today Thursday 10-14-21 at 10:25am. I arrived at at this pollo loco in the City of Downey, and I had the worse experience. The sign on the door stated that they open at 10:30am. It was 10:45am. and still closed. At 11:15am. They decided to open the door everyone outside waiting were upset, I asked why open so late, the employee female stated we open at 11:00am. But you are still late. She stated that nothing was prepared. I still when to get soda, and the soda machine started to trough out soda on the side they forgot to put the tip. I had soda all over me, and no Manager. This establishment needs, Manager, better trained employees, and fallow the the policies at what times they really opens.
Food is always wrong. Chicken is always burnt. This is probably the worst place to eat ever! They never give you what you ask for. I bought a loco salad with creamy cilantro dressing and they didn’t give it to me so when the food got delivered it was missing the large order of rice and the creamy cilantro and the chicken was not tasty because it was burnt.
This location is violating food safety practices as well as selling items without key ingredients. I ordered the double chicken nachos and they were given to me without queso. I also ordered the tropical mango tea and was given plain unsweetened tea (the mango tea is unsweetened as well, i was disappointed to find out later). When I brought them back (after I'd gotten all the way home!) they said they were out of queso so they just gave them to me like that with just shredded cheese without saying anything. I also have included a photo of one of the drink cups just sitting in a vat of salsa, which I assume they were using to make the portion cups. But this entire drink cup SOMEONE PUT THEIR HANDS ON DURING COVID TIMES is just floating in the salsa! They have their dining room closed so had I not gone in to get a refund for my nachos (which, they shorted me $2 on my refund as well!), no customer would've seen this flagrant health code violation. Your staff needs to be re-trained or fired! Will NEVER return to this location.
I wish google would allow a Zeeo Stars for this location. I have lived in Downey for over 6 years and the customer service never improved. I hate myself for coming back. Unfortunately this is the closest location because it’s around the corner from my house. Today 8/5/2021, I placed and online order at 1:15pm because I know they take forever to fulfill orders I arrived at 1:38pm. Guess what?! My order was not ready. The drive thru was backed up and customers seemed upset. I waited until 1:48pm and nothing was coming out. Finally I asked one of the gentlemen that actually seemed to be doing his job ans he said they couldn’t fulfill my order because there wasn’t any Mac and cheese. I never received a call or email update to let me know the Mac and cheese was gone. They just decided not to work on my order. Luckily the worker was attentive and substituted my Mac and cheese for mashed potato. It’s ridiculous to wait 30 minutes for a mobile order. On top of all this nonsense, please see the picture below taken today at 1:40pm. The location was dirty and only one person seemed to care about customer service.
