Tastes like home! Very welcoming and nice people. Clean, quiet, and very generous portions. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again!
Eating by myself, I didn't care about atmosphere. It was clean and not noisy, which I like. Service is cafeteria style, no problem there - it keeps costs down. Didn't see the restroom, so can't report on that. I had pork adobo, braised in a traditional sauce and served with garlic fried rice and a couple of over-easy eggs. It was a generous serving, quite tasty and not unduly fatty. I'd say it's a bargain, and on my next visit I'll add a side vegetable. I also noticed a variety of packaged house-made (I assume) snacks ready to go, refrigerated as well as non-perishable, and packaged snacks from outside. A sign indicated parking in the back - I was on foot and didn't look.
Great place for a delicious Filipino meal or feast, for this visit it was a breakfast for our family. There always is a fresh batch of food ready to be consumed and savored. We always look forward to returning for this food that’s Authentic and approved by Family and Friends. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and ready to serve the community. Thank you!!
JG's Nipa Hut was as tasty as can be! Came here for a nice lunch with mom and dad and we enjoyed All of the Filipino goodness Nipa Hut had to offer. From pancit to lechon, Bangus to Pompano... Plus all of the Bread and Pastries as well as the Desserts and Kakanin's you could think of. Great Lunch Specials! A little warm in the building, but felt like being back home.
Was craving some lechón and decided to stop by jg’s. The lechón was tasty but I just wish it was a tad bit more crunchy. That’s just my personal taste. This lechón was more on the soft side, I like the skin crunchy. Would definitely go again if nearby
Home style tasty comfort food. Not pricey. Very yummy

We stopped by for a quick snack—just a couple empanadas and some hopia (ube and yellow mung bean). The empanada bread felt soft and tasted sweet. The hopia contained a generous amount of filling. Good stuff.
Best munggo I have ever tried is here. Their sinigang is very good as well. They also had fresh lumpia today! I bought Leche flan and it was very rich and creamy.
This place is awesome! I always drive by and had never stopped by until today and I’m so glad we did. The food tastes homemade and there is generous portions and is definitely comfort style. The food is very tasty and flavorful without feeling heavy or greasy. Quite affordable and there are many fresh options to choose from. It is also a bakery and they provide catering too. The service was great too. Super friendly staff and they were great at educating us on the dishes since we were not too familiar with Phillipino cuisine. We got quite a bit of food and they were even kind enough to let us try an additional dish! The pork adobo is excellent, as well as the Tocino. Well actually everything was good! Will definitely be coming back and will be bringing friends.
I always order catering trays from here for parties. The garlic chicken is addicting and somehow it stays crispy for the longest time. It is great for dining in as well, especially on Friday and Saturday evening they have a huge selection of cheap bbq sticks.

I go here a lot when I don’t feel like cooking my own Flip food. They have great robust flavors and very homey comfort food for those who like the Flip Asian flavor. I love the banana fritters (toron, currently $1). I also like Shanghai lumpia. Favorites are bistek (beef, gravy, onions), adobo (not Hispanic, but sweet and soy sauce and vinegar). I forgot to take a picture but it’s buffet style and they no longer have seating available so everything is ToGo. All of the meat has been tender and moist to eat. I picked up a crispy pata ($14.50) today. I can’t wait to try it, but I have to since I’m taking it someplace else (not home). Breakfast ($8.25) Combo 1 item ($13.25) 2 item ($14.25) Today is November 6, 2022 TIPS: 1) Street parking only 2) No seating available on premises 3) Buffet style

Delicious and feels like home. Mom and Pop owned. Highly recommend to try the Bangus and Filipino Fried Rice with 10 piece Filipino Egg rolls!
My Filipino friends take me here and orders for me. I have liked everything I've tried but I could not tell you what 90% of it was. Never tried it without them but I think it would be intimidating ordering without someone that has been there a lot or someone that is Filipino. You choose options from the prepared foods in front of you (cafeteria style). Nipa Hut has good parking in the back of the restaurant. It is a no frills atmosphere.

Dining-in is not a good experience. The dining area is secluded in the back with no atmosphere at all. The set-up of the restaurant is geared for to-go only. Food is ok, not the best! Hopias are hard and old.
This is my first time visited in the new Nipa Hut which is a Filipino restaurant located along Sherman Way and Topanga Canyon. My friend told me the foods are really good but it is not really what I expected. The melon that I ordered is just full of sugar with just more water and little cantaloupe can't even taste the juice from the cantaloupe. The bopis I ordered, I can taste only the fish sauce in the bopis they cooked. Their çhicken empanada has a big chunks of meat that is so dry. I am sorry to say this but they really need to improved the way they cooked. Even the hopia is not good at all. Really disappointed to this restaurant. In fairness the staff are friendly. I hoped they improved their cooking skills.

Nipa Hut used to give bigger servings with reasonable price. Now the price is so expensive with less quantity!!! Half fried fish combo meal cost about $12 with no free drink! Island Pacific in Canoga Park gives more food with cheaper price. I live few blocks away fro Nipa Hut & couple of miles away from Island Pacific...I would rather drive few miles away to get better servings of food with reasonable price.

I got overcharged for the cassava cake and the lechon kawali is mostly fat! Shame. Quality has gone down the drain.

RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL, NO MANNERS SERVICE!!! I called on December 22 to place a Noche Buena order. From the very beginning, the person who answered the phone was RUDE and IMPOLITE, even though I greeted them politely. Every time I asked a question, their tone was ANGRY and DISRESPECTFUL. When I was asked what time I could pick up the order, I said, “What time are you open tomorrow, until what time?” They angrily replied, “What time? Give me a time!” I apologized and said, “3 PM, okay?” While taking my order, they continued being RUDE and SHOUTING. Later, my mother suggested upgrading the order size since we had more guests. I called back politely to request the change, but they got ANGRY again, saying, “Oh, come on, I already entered it! Okay, add $10 per tray,” then abruptly hung up. Because they were RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL, my mom told me to cancel the order. I asked my friend to call on my behalf, and the owner got ANGRY, saying, “This is ridiculous,” before hanging up. When my friend called again asking for a manager, the owner suddenly became calm but still replied RUDLY, “You’re not the one I was talking to earlier.” She then added, “I am the owner of the restaurant. Merry Christmas,” and hung up abruptly. It was clear from the start that there was NO RESPECT, PROFESSIONALISM in their service. The experience was frustrating and stressful, especially during the holiday season. I had no choice but to cancel the order because of their RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and NO MANNERS behavior.
Called earlier in the day to order for pickup. They screwed up my order, and I had to wait for them to cook it for 15 minutes when it was promised an hour before. Staff had no urgency to serve me ahead when the food came out of kitchen. The man who handed me the food was complaining under his breath, when I heard him thank every customer as they left. Not once did he or anyone apologize for the mistake of screwing up my order and making me wait longer NOR thanked me. Food is mediocre and overpriced. Not ever going back here again! Food is tastier and better priced at Island Pacific.
Bought some empanada and kare-kare a few days ago. The food was really oily that caused some indigestion. Not sure if they're using recycled oil but be careful.
