My favorite restaurant! I'm from Bari living in Germany, and every time I return to Italy, a stop at U Puglia is a must. Giovanni, the chef, and Rosa, who runs the dining room with great professionalism and warmth, know how to make every guest feel at home. The cuisine is impeccable: authentic, rich in authentic flavors, and capable of instantly transporting me to my Puglia. The recipes are original, and the ingredients come directly from our land, and this truly makes the difference. Each dish is meticulously crafted, served with passion, and always presented spectacularly. It's rare to find a restaurant capable of representing Puglia so faithfully, both in flavor and atmosphere. I will always return, because I truly feel at home here.
I went to this restaurant for dinner with a friend. The restaurant is truly beautiful, with attention to detail and a unique style. The extensive menu offers very good, easy-to-digest cuisine. I recommend this restaurant for both dinners with friends and couples. I also think it's a child-friendly place.
So good! We went there yesterday for lunch, and it was a pleasant discovery! The staff was super friendly, and the cashier was really nice and cheerful! We had a great time. I definitely want to go back. We had the orecchiette and gnocchi (tasty, delicious, they melted in your mouth), the parmigiana, and the delicate zucchini flowers, which, even though I hate fried food, I found them very digestible. Rich yet healthy cuisine! I loved it. A place worth visiting!
This typical Apulian trattoria is a true gem for lovers of authentic cuisine. Here you'll find hearty dishes prepared with fresh, authentic ingredients, all at a fair and affordable price. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for those who want to enjoy traditional flavors in a family-friendly setting. Among the house specialties, the Maccheroncini with octopus and burrata stands out, a dish that will captivate you. A more than compelling reason to return time and time again and be surprised by the other delights on the menu!
Business lunch with a colleague. We ordered two tiellas, two turcinieddi, two desserts, water, and coffee. We spent €40 each. I have few words to describe the taste. I wanted to have lunch with you to try the tiella that my wife no longer makes for me. She's also from Puglia, but from the province of Foggia. For anyone who wants to experience the flavors of Puglia, go and try it.
A classic and authentic trattoria, simple, warm, elegant, and welcoming. The owners and wait staff are always extremely friendly, making you feel immediately at ease. The dishes are authentic and very well-cooked, tasty, and the portions, more generous than usual, are presented in a homely manner, as is right and expected in a trattoria. The sparkling rosé wine by the carafe also pairs well with the meat dishes. I was very satisfied with the stuffed mussels, pasta calamarata, bombette alla pugliese, and meatballs from Grandma's kitchen. The coffee at the end of the meal was also good. Well done.
After-work dinner Clean place, but perhaps a little too lighthearted... but still nice. Very varied and well-made menu with many choices of typical Apulian dishes. There are so many things to try. I was a little disappointed with the Orecchiette...I expected them to be a little more al dente and less watery...I'm not saying they were bad, but maybe the chef made a small mistake...anyway, I'll try them again (see photos). The octopus, on the other hand, was very good and the portion was just right, I really liked it. The service was very good, fast and efficient...(the place wasn't busy during the week).
I tried this restaurant on a Wednesday evening for a family birthday. It's a small but charming place, and the staff are very friendly, kind, and helpful. The dishes are very good, and some of them truly transport you to Puglia. I didn't give it 5 stars only because, personally, I love pasta al dente, but I did enjoy the orecchiette with overcooked turnip tops. The prices are very fair (2 appetizers, 4 first courses, 1 second course, 4 desserts, 4 coffees plus water and two quarts of wine, all come to around €138), plus you can purchase some local products!
Five-star hospitality, everyone kind and helpful, cozy atmosphere... the carafe wine is truly delicious... the food is good, but I expected it to be richer in typical local flavors, knowing the cuisine well... anyway, if I ever come back, I definitely won't look back 😉 Great idea, selling local products 👍
A very quaint restaurant, with kind and attentive staff. Unfortunately, as a lover of Apulian cuisine, I wasn't entirely satisfied. The orecchiette with turnip greens was good, but overly soupy. The problem was with the Turcineddi, which were served practically burned, as pictured. I asked for a replacement, and they kindly replaced them, only to bring them even more burned. I understand the tradition, but here we were talking about carcinogenic charcoal chips. I'm disappointed because the other dishes seem well-made, even the pickled vegetables tasted good. However, I hope they fix the Turcineddi problem, a very special and distinctive dish.
I had dinner here yesterday with my wife, a free evening without kids, I wanted to surprise her! I called and spoke to Giovanni, who was very kind, asking for a slightly more private table. He said no problem... OK, we'll arrive. They put me at a table in the middle of the room. I asked if I could kindly be moved since it was noisy. I was told no for technical reasons, but when would it be possible since it was early and all the tables were free? We ordered the appetizers, the braids looked like the ones from Esselunga, the panzerotti were respectably warmed up from the freezer, I ate them in Puglia, the braids arrived juicy and full of fresh milk, and the panzerotti, full of boiling oil, still fresh, had everything but this flavor, we had the strozzapreti, good, second course we opted for the grill which included bombette sausage and some livers which, having a strong flavor, they told us we could replace with bombette and sausage, we trusted them, a small plate arrived with 2 pieces of sausage, 5 bombette is enough, 20 euros for a plate, unfortunately, poor, I asked the girl why she only gave me 5 bombette and two pieces of sausage, she told me that the. Weight etc.. in the end they charged me 7 euros for another half portion of bombette for a total of 27 euros. Not for the money but for correctness. The first time a customer arrives, they should be treated with a minimum of care, like in Puglia. Obviously I didn't say anything, the desserts were good, the puff pastry with cream was very good, the Cuore caldo ao cioccolato I've had much better. Finally I go to pay the bill 101 euros without wine, the good thing I had 100 in cash, he almost asks me for a euro. It's not for the euro or anything else but these are considerations that a customer observes, I should point out that I usually leave a tip too but here no way... The manager was very sharp in her manner, the girl, even Giovanni, I've never seen him even to ask how things are going. These are details that make the difference with new customers... Maybe they wanted this "that I wouldn't come back"... and so it will be... I don't recommend it... with 50 euros a head you eat in Como in the center... for being in the suburbs expensive and with small portions... I thought much better, I was disappointed.
