My family and I made a reservation for 12 people at Glen Iris Inn to celebrate a birthday. The staff was incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. They made helpful recommendations, worked diligently to honor our requests and created a beautiful and memorable event. The atmosphere, service and food were all 5-star quality. We visited Glenn Iris for food. The restaurant had a surprisingly large seating area, even though it does not appear so. Outdoor seating is amazing and cozy but may be murkier in summer. There is a free viewing area for middle falls. The food was good with good portion sizes. The staff was very friendly. Definitely a good halt for food before or after exploring falls

We ate dinner there for our Anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. We had the grouper and short ribs and they were done to perfection and we didn’t have to wait long for our meal. Our waitress LeAnn was very down to earth. She came over to check on us a number of times and chatted with us for a bit. We would highly recommend going there.

I had my wedding here last month and it was absolutely perfect. Molly was a joy yo work with and made sure everything went smoothly. The food was all delicious and service was great. Multiple people commented on how beautiful everything was. Thank you to everyone at the Glen Iris who had a role in making our day memorable. We also ate at the restaurant on site several times during the weekend of the wedding and the food was great!

My family visiting from abroad loved it. The setting is wonderful, gorgeous waiting areas, the parking lot could be in a LOT better shape, though, considering most of the crowds we saw was 60 and up. We came around 14:00 on a Tuesday, so it wasn’t too busy, and we were sat immediately. We had the daily thanksgiving dinner special and two Mediterranean Plates, and the three we were shared bread pudding for dessert. It was all good, and Patrick did a great job, professional and good attention to details.

My husband and I stayed in the Pinewood Lodges (Scotch Pine) which are on the hill above the Inn. Great location and accommodation with microwave and refrigerator. Room was very clean with no mold! The Inn does run a dehumidifier in the room that likely helps! Nice area if you want to grill or have a firepit at night. Nice view of the Middle Falls from the picnic tables and benches that are outside the rooms. We had our drinks outside overlooking the falls! We ate two nights at the Inn. The portions were generous for us so we had leftovers for lunch the next day after the first dinner! We split a salad and appetizer the next night as we were not very hungry, and the amount was perfect for us! People have commented about the price, however, the portions are generous! I was initially disappointed that we could not get a reservation at the Inn but very happy that we were at the Lodge. It gave us more room to move around with a beautiful view! It was an easy walk (5 min) or drive (2 min - if you hiked a lot) to sit outside the hotel but the view was much better from our picnic area. We visited in September which was a perfect time to go. Beautiful weather for hiking!

Garden restaurant is amazing! It is priceless to have your meal outside, surrounded by the flowers, in the shade of the trees, listening to the music of the fallen waters! There aren’t many options on the lunch menu but everything we ordered we liked. Especially, the cocktails and the dessert. The prices were quite reasonable and the service was good. Recommend!

Located inside Letchworth State Park… this beautiful inn serves delicious food inside and outside on the porch. We went with our dog. We sat outside on the porch. As the food warmed our bellies, we heard the sound of the Middle Falls and birds. Could anything be more perfect?? P.S. The staff was warm and welcoming… 💕

Beautiful place to stay inside Letchworth state park. Some of the rooms have an amazing view of the waterfall but no matter which room you have you can walk 10ft outside the inn and take in the amazing view. I had my wedding here and it was excellent. The only downside is it's only open for half the year.

Took the Sting Ray for a ride and stopped for lunch at the Iris. Pot Roast was like a Prime Rib , cut it with a fork. Best 20 bucks I ever tasted.

We went here as a last minute decision. We ordered the steak, pork chop, chicken parm and grouper special. All of our food was excellent! Beautiful restaurant and views. All the food came with potatoes, vegetable and rolls. Good portion, hot food, nice staff. We willl go back before we head home. Most enjoyable experience!

My son was married on May 21st,2024. We only had 3 months to plan it and when I contacted the Glen Iris for information on dinner and renting the Chalet and Caroline's Cottage, both Molly and Denise were so very accommodating. All of my questions (had many) and requests (also had many) were answered expeditiously. We had dinner at the Glen Iris and every single meal ordered was cooked to perfection! During dinner the staff was very attentive to all of our needs. We then went back to relax at the Chalet and had a fire in the fire pit

They hosted our daughter's wedding, outside under the tent. Their staff are a well-oiled machine and we had a wonderful day. It rained all day, and they were considerate of our needs and had large umbrellas ready for our bridal party to get us from the inn to the tent. Our daughter's wedding coordinator was exceptional. The food was excellent. We ladies had use of a room on the 3rd floor of the inn I only wish we could have taken our time removing out belongings after the ceremony.

I had a small room with 2 twin beds. The only complaint is that the mattresses were too soft and I didn't sleep well but I am used to a firm mattress. The view of middle falls right outside was breathtaking. Peaceful to sit and relax listening to the falls.

Full disclosure: we didn't stay in a room. The dining experience was excellent. Wait staff was perfect, meal was excellent.

I love the Glen Iris Inn. We've stayed at the inn before which was great. This time we just went for dinner but it made me remember why the restaurant is so amazing. The French onion soup was great and the steak was simply awesome. It was so good that the A1 was not necessary. After dinner we enjoyed a cup of tea on the patio, it was a prefect night out. Special thanks to our waitress Monika, they were short staffed so she was serving all of the tables on her own and dealing with some really ridiculously difficult customers.

The hotel has an authentic vintage feel to it. The staff are super helpful and kind. Food is great in their restaurant. In addition, the views around the hotel are stunning.

We did not stay at the Glen Iris, however we did eat breakfast there and explored throughout the house while there. Breakfast: Waitress was kind and courteous. She was very attentive to our needs. Food was prompt and delicious. The dining room was aesthetically pleasing. The Inn: This is a beautiful bed and breakfast. The staff that we dealt with was pleasant and professional. The grounds outside was also beautiful and well kept. Just below the inn is one of the most spectacular waterfalls I have ever seen.

A comfortable, yet upscale experience. The building is lovely and overlooks middle falls, a great location. There is also a museum a few steps from the Inn. The restaurant food and service is excellent, very accommodating to dietary restrictions. Overall, staff is very helpful. The location and accommodations charming.

We had our wedding at the Glen Iris and it was fantastic. The wedding coordination team was so easy to work with and had all of the details covered. Our guests raved about the beautiful location and the great food. The bartender and other staff working our wedding were super friendly and accommodating and kept the night flowing smoothly. We stayed at the lodges across the street and found them to be clean, quiet, and a good value. The event was very reasonably priced- probably half of what you'd pay for a similar event in Rochester or Buffalo. I appreciated that the prices are transparent on the website unlike a lot of venues today- my personal estimate was within 5% of what we ended up paying. The only challenge was logistics, since it is a pretty remote area without reliable phone service, transportation, and limited hotel rooms. We booked out most of the property and had most of our guests stay on site but may be something to consider if hosting a larger group.

We ate lunch here while in Letchworth State Park. This food was very good and the service was excellent. I had the daily burger special, which was quite good. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food as well. If you're in the park, take time to grab lunch here. You'll be glad you did.

This is a must stay place if you want to experience nature and history at the same time. The rooms are clean and sufficient and give you the vibe of staying in a historical inn.. The middle falls is right opposite to the inn and from the 2nd floor coffee station you can enjoy your morning coffee with a fall view. They also have cottages for larger groups.. They also have a in house restaurant. The food was ok ok for me.. but I have heard it’s the only best one around. We tried the vegetarian options spaghetti and mushroom risotto. The mushroom risotto is toooo too cheesy and it was hard for me but kids might enjoy it.. but the outdoor seating is the best. Overall a good experience. We as a couple enjoyed the stay, hike and the falls view.

We did not stay at the Inn, but took advantage of their outdoor garden dining to enjoy taking part in the Glen Iris Inn's history and it's close proximity to the falls. I ordered a house salad with their own creamy Caesar dressing. Exceptional! And my wife and I shared an entree which was a thick, juicy pork chop, mash potatoes, and tender asparagus. We were amazed by the superb quality of our meal, especially the tender, succulent pork chop. We left absolutely full and satisfied, wondering how one person could have eaten it all by themself.

Lunch on a beautiful fall day. Quick service, great food, good pricing(about $20.00). Beautiful scenery inside & out w/ seating outside as well. Second story not for dining but has rooms, library- all in dark wood.

This is a beautiful venue any time, but especially this time of year. As you should expect, it was very busy with people coming out to see the fall colors but the staff were efficient and pleasant. The menu caters to various tastes and the quality is extremely good. We never miss a chance to stop in.

We stopped here for lunch while visiting the park, and it is a beautiful property! A large Victorian style dining room with big windows to let in lots of light, and furnished in a plush and warm atmosphere and decor. The food was good with hearty portions, though a bit expensive. But on par with fine dining establishments. While we did not see the rooms, we enjoyed the setting with the pretty gardens and setting right above the falls.

My boyfriend and I had Genevieve for lunch and then we went back for dinner there and had her again. She was WONDERFUL , and very personable. She deserves a raise !!! Thanks Genevieve!!!

Not yet open will open soon.And if you've never been, you really have to come see the park and check out Glen Iris. Nothing compares in this area and being the home of Ne. Letchworth during his time ~ is just amazing that we still have this remarkable place to share.

THANK YOU!!!One big thing we felt kept us from eating here was the lack of direction where enter for dining. From the parking lot to the door you enter should be clearly marked.

The restaurant hosted our family reunion and not only was the food delicious and staff/service helpful and friendly, but the room we were in had two expansive walls of windows that allowed you to see the gardens that surrounded the inn. The Glen Iris Inn is not only a good place to spend the night, it also has a restaurant with phenomenal breakfast as well as a very extensive gift shop. The staff are very friendly; they gave me directions to other local area attractions, as well as directions to nearby cities such as Buffalo and Rochester. However, I feel as though something is missing. I think that this historic bed and breakfast should be added to the National Register of Historic Places. Also, the fountain out in front is way too basic and boring; it should be a dancing fountain with a water show. Still, you can't leave Letchworth without coming here.

We were fortunate enough to experience dining at The Inn during our stay. From the moment we were seated, the ambiance was enchanting. The soft glow of the lighting, the gentle murmur of conversation, and the subtle scent of delicious food created an inviting atmosphere. But it was the panoramic vista of the Middle Falls, visible through the large windows, that truly stole the show. Dining with the roar of the Genesee River as a backdrop is an unparalleled sensory delight. Our server for the evening, Hillary, was an absolute delight and truly elevated our dining experience. She greeted us with a warm, genuine smile and possessed an impressive knowledge of the menu, offering insightful recommendations and patiently answering all our questions. Hillary struck the perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive, ensuring our water glasses were always full and our needs anticipated. Her recommendations, particularly the Porterhous Pork Chop, were spot on. The chop was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was a bright, fresh complement. My companion raved about the Orechiette with Sausage & Broccolini, cooked to a perfect al-dente and well appointed with shaved parmesan and olive oil.

I wasn't overall impressed with the Glen Iris Inn but it has decent food and is one of only 2 options in the park. First of all, the scenery is impeccable and is worth the trip by itself. Service was ok, everyone was very friendly, we sat outside which was lovely, it was just slow to get our order taken but food came out quickly. The cream of asparagus soup was the best thing we had for lunch. Super delicious and fresh. We got the danish bre but I was disappointed as the bre was slightly rubbery and room temperature. We got the turkey BLT and the spicy chicken sandwich. Both were underwhelming and lacked flavor. The fries were nice and crispy but for an $18 turkey BLT I was expecting more.

Went to the Glen Iris for lunch when visiting the park. Service and food were both excellent! We had the turkey dinner which, after hiking, was not too much.

Location is obviously fantastic, the room was comfortable. We didn't use the dining area, the house was a bit twee for us. The picnic benches, fridge and microwave were handy for us. We self-catered and went elsewhere to eat Staff were friendly enough but we enjoyed the semi-isolation of the lodge.

Really the only place to go anywhere near the park. The food was pretty okay. Inside looked beautiful but I ate outside because we had dogs with us.

After a long 14 mile hike in Letchworth Park, we were famished and thirsty! We were heading back to our car and decided to stop in the Inn since it was on the way. Beautiful grounds and the interior was equally pretty. We got seated right away despite our slightly disheveled hikers look but the hostess didn't get an eye. The dining room was much bigger than I expected too. Since it was too late for lunch and too early for dinner, we opted for their apps and small plates. We were so happy to see that they had warm Danish brie with a berry compote as one of their choices! Usually brie served is French but I prefer the Danish version of it, so it was a total delicious score. Their smoke trout appetizer was a generous portion and melt in your mouth and their Mediterranean plate didn't disappoint either. Decided to indulge and have dessert too and their cheesecake with peach Melba worked perfectly. Price vs. Portions was spot on. Pro tip: Bring your $10 entrance fee to the park with you, the Inn will deduct the $10 from your check! Score! Will be back end hopefully stay there too next time

This review is for Caroline's Restaurant which is located at the Glen Iris Inn. The restaurant should really have its own google maps listing. You do not need to stay at the Glen Iris Inn to eat at Caroline's Restaurant. My two service dogs accompanied me to lunch at Caroline's. I had trouble making reservations by phone, so opted to make reservations online. We ate outside and I could "kind of" see the falls. I was told by the hostess that only one table actually has a view of the falls. This could easily be remedied by removing tree limbs and understory growth (no tree removal necessary). I had the soup of the day, monte cristo sandwich and bread pudding for dessert. I really just wanted the bread pudding, which was exceptional. But i'm glad I ordered lunch, which was also exceptional. Sandwiches, come with your choice of french fries or New York potato chips. New york potato chips are just potato chips made with potatoes from them New York. To be blunt, this just wreaks of pretentiousness. If the chef wants to give diners a nice option for potato chips, they should simply offer made-to-order potato chips which can be cooked in the same fryer as French fries and probably procured from the same food vendor.

I had never gone here before, despite having been to Letchworth Park dozens of times, because I thought it was going to be insanely expensive and very pretentious inside. I was pleasantly surprised to be very wrong. Food was tasty but not cheap, the building itself is absolutely gorgeous, server was friendly but over worked. People were in regular street clothes. Will be coming back again as special treat.

Great family vacation. Beyond beautiful location! We had the Chalet house and Caroline's for a weekend. Very comfortable. One guest had a little difficulty with no downstairs bedroom, but still a wonderful experience!

Absolutely stunning location, we had a simple elopement in the park and our families all got rooms in the Inn or adjacent properties. They were definitely "old" looking, which was on par with the building, but some rooms were just so tiny you could barely walk next to the beds. We had our post ceremony breakfast in the Inn with a mimosa and muffin bar - it was an absolute hit and a lovely experience. We worked with Molly and she was super helpful in our planning and anticipating our needs.

We spent 3 days at the Glen Iris. My husband booked this trip for us many months in advance. While the historic inn was indeed beautiful, our room (the Larch) was so tiny that we had to turn sideways to get by each other. We are not large people but had to take turns to open our suitcases, find a surface area for our toiletries and use the sitting area outside our room while the other was getting dressed. The drawer by the bed would not shut and the fan in the bathroom ran constantly. Many of the other rooms we could see were much larger so I would have thought a couple spending 3 days would have been assigned a slightly larger room. Everything is a la carte, even coffee. There is no water available (like in the lobby) and maybe I’m asking too much. But there are no stores anywhere nearby so I didn’t bring bottled water. The restaurant is nice, a bit expensive but the service good. Proximity to the park and views of the waterfall you can’t beat! Just magnificent. So with a couple minimal improvements, this would be a 5-star stay in my opinion.

Quaint little spot right across the middle falls. There was a wedding taking place in the courtyard. We had breakfast, then late coffee and an early dinner here. Mixed experience. Breakfast service was very slow-took over an hour. The food they served was cold. The server could not find out about ingredients in a number of trips to the kitchen. Coffee was served quickly and the smart attentive server sensed our lack of time and offered to give us cups to go. We in and out, and got to take our coffee on the go, which was fantastic. Dinner service was fast but cucumbers in the Mediterranean platter had gone bad. They replaced when I asked. But that is quite inexcusable… steak and chicken were ok-not very good.

This is an absolutely stunning location!!! I had no idea there was such a beautiful hotel with an absolutely stunning waterfall! The views from this hotel and restaurant are unparalleled. We came here for dinner after my father's celebration of life and I was so impressed with our experience. We had a large group, so they gave us a private dining room with two servers. They managed and served our group with professionalism and promptness. The menu had a ton of comfort food options and daily specials. I think we tried just about everything and we all raved about how delicious the food was! The winners for me were the fried green tomatoes and man I don't know what they put in it but they had this black pepper aioli that they need to bottle up and sell! Seriously, this aioli was magic and I want to eat it on everything! The place offers outdoor and indoor dining and has a quiet reception with a lively gift shop. Main disappointment was that the bathrooms were like a dirty old middle school. They are pretty gross and need to be renovated to match the beauty of the rest of the property.

Went to the Glen Iris to celebrate our anniversary. The person checking us in for our reservation was quite abrupt and didn't smile. The food was very good although the soup had spilled over the bowl and was very messy. Our anniversary was not acknowledged, so what was the point of asking me upon making my reservation? Not a lot of choices in the area for finer dining so we chose Glen Iris but we were a little disappointed with our dining experience.

Fine dining experience, in an unmatched natural setting. Our server, Rebecca , was wonderful, and did everything she could to make our experience memorable. We had the French onion soup, followed by short ribs, and the salmon. Restaurants in the area are few and far between anyway, so if you’re visiting the park, find time to have lunch or dinner here. The museum is across the street, and the falls outside the door.

We dined in the restaurant but did not stay in the rooms. The food was just ok, nothing to rave about, had the special, which was a steak that looked very pale, no sear on it once so ever, it tasted ok. Also had the red snapper, which was good, and the soup of the day (vegetable). The service was great and the atmosphere is nice, I would not suggest to go expecting an amazing meal but go for the experience.

Very beautiful restaurant! BUT the food wasn't what we expected. They need to kick up the menu several notches for what you pay! The waitress was very good, friendly and funny .I had the pork chop. It was flavorless with a bitter balsamic sauce on it. A little scoop of garlic mashed potatoes and about 10 green beans. My wife had the chicken Marsala. It was better than my meal but not by much. The dessert was the best part of our meal . My wife and I go to a restaurant in Lackawanna NY . The average is 1.5 sometimes 2 week wait to get a reservation and the food is fantastic for about the same price level we paid at GII. To the general manager of the "Glen Iris Inn restaurant " PLEASE revamp you food. Your restaurant should be a destination same as the park.

We ate at Caroline's. The Prime Rib was pretty good but the service, ambiance, and extremely high cost will keep us from returning. Medium Prime and a dinner salad for 2 and 3 (total) glasses of house Merlot was close to $180. They had the dining room closed by the windows so no looking at the gorge and no music in the background just sad silence and cranky waitstaff. We dined at 6:45pm so it's not like we were keeping staff late. Skip this place, it's not really high-end just the price is. Salad dressing comes in a little plastic cup, there you have it.

Didn't rate the rooms cause I've never seen them. You are paying for the location. It's a $25 meal for $50. (Meal and app or soup) And the drinks are priced for tourists, you do the math. The servers are local so take good care of them.

Been coming here for the past 10+ yrs for mothers day, the past 3 yrs the hostess has been very rude(im pretty sure its the same lady). Literally was there 10 mins early waiting 2 mins over our reservation waiting for the rest of our party to walk in and the hostess flipped, acting like shes gonna give our reservation to another person when we said we were waiting on two more people but we were ready to be seated lol. Like why would u go to start to having an attitude. Not like someone off the street gonna walk in and want the reservation . Then we weren’t even there for 20mins before being given the bill. Thats just rude. The only pleasant employee was the younger girl in the gift shop

Recently moved to Buffalo and have been discovering new places to hike. Spent the day walking around and stumbled across the restaurant at the Inn. We thought the building was absolutely beautiful inside and out so we just had to eat here. Anyways, when we were looking over the menu for dinner we noticed that the prices were quite steep but we were hungry from hiking all day so we went all out ordering. From the start the buns were stale, my steak wasn’t seasoned, my mashed potatoes tasted like boxed potatoes I’d make myself in college and the service really wasn’t great aside from the woman at the front desk. So lesson learned next time we’ll pack food for this trip.

The atmosphere is amazing. The sights are beautiful 😍. The food I would pass on. It's over-priced for the quality. Dinner rolls was like a rock. I had the duck with cranberry and green beans and mash potatoes. Duck was overcooked and chewy, sauce was good cranberries like applesauce, green beans overcooked, but the wine was great. My other half had the chicken parm. It was more sauce and very over whelming but the chicken was good. The cook he had was watered down.

The restaurant is acceptable, food simple but good. The hotel is terrible. Pretty building - great location. Furniture has not been updated in 40 years. Maybe more. Beds terrible. Rugs disgusting. That this place can charge the rates they do speaks solely to its history and location. Stay if you want the experience. But don’t expect even Fairfield Inn quality in anything associated with the rooms. Next time we will head into town.

We visited Friday October 17th at 1:45PM. Food: It's alright, isn't fine dining but don't expect that anyway. You're there for a nice enough bite to eat by the falls, if you have the onion soup and a sandwich, it's comfort food and fine. Building: Cool old building, needs about 500k put into it... Service: Server was a nice guy, did a good job. My primary gripe (and that of several other parties we talked to while waiting) was the miserable old woman they had greeting people. She's gruff, rude, and basically just nasty. I know they get a lot of people through the door and based off their monopoly in the park, don't really *need* to be nice to people- they'll get business either way- but come on, you're in a service industry, be friendly and nice. The food is good enough if your expectations are reasonable and you aren't after fine dining, the location is obviously beautiful and is the primary reason you are there, the building is absolutely cooked and needs work, the service is nice except for the lady out front who is an absolute embarrassment.

We can here to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. The hostess was abrupt and frankly rude. The waitresses were nice. After ordering we waited over 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The salmon was good but the chicken that my wife ordered was dry. The potatoes were bland. Overall the food was not good for the price. After dinner i used the rest room to discover stacks of extra dinner chairs. I hope they clean them before setting them in the dining room. Great location but I would find a different place to eat.

My wife and I were married at the Glen Iris Inn 37 years ago, but this was the first time we stayed at the Inn and were looking forward to a two-night getaway. The Good: To a person, the staff is outstanding - friendly, helpful, and efficient. Five stars++. The location and setting are outstanding. First-time visitors to Letchworth State Park are often awestruck, and the Inn occupies a prime location within the park. The Just OK: The food served in the Inn's dining room is a mixed bag. The menu is a bit old fashioned and IMO the portion sizes for all of the dishes are simply too big. Prices are on the high side. The Not-So-Good: The Inn's building and guest rooms, and to a lesser extent its grounds, are far past due for a renovation. Preserving the historic significance of this 1800s property should be a top priority, but as things stand the facility is just dated and worn out. The Inn's website should not claim the rooms are "recently redecorated," or that the room we booked is a "luxury suite." If New York State, the Inn's operator, and/or private investors or donors funded a carefully planned, top-to-bottom renovation, IMO this property could offer a distinctive five-star experience.

While Letchworth State Park is a treasure if you like hiking and being in nature, Glen Iris Inn is just meh. The food is not equal to the prices charged and the cocktails reflect the absence of a bartender. I'd recommend the Finger Lakes wine selections, instead. We stayed in one of the motel rooms, and while the proximity to the gorge and falls is unbeatable, the room itself was tired, dark and musty smelling.

The natural setting is stunning but that’s unfortunately the only real asset here. We visited for dinner with friends we’d invited and looked forward to something special. The whole meal was disappointing- no refinement in service or presentation. These were some of our comments: The server brought frozen rolls, the cook was heavy handed with sauce on our main courses, the boiled veggies thrown on our plates were flavourless. The dining room is very drab and lacks any semblance of warmth or charm. The ladies room had holes in the wall where the tissue roll holder presumably had been attached previously. A roll of tissue was precariously propped on the side for all visitors to handle. We expected a lovely evening in an elegant setting and we left feeling cheated and robbed. Such a wasted opportunity for excellence in this lovely setting.

This is for the restaurant. It was the only place in the area for food and we just finished taking pictures with the waterfall. Service was okay, we did have to wait awhile to be seated. The food was mediocre. The Applewood smoked trout was good but for the price we should have gotten more quantity like a few more pieces. Entrees were average, nothing that really stuck out in terms of taste or appearance. Prices should either be lowered or add more quantity to the food, since it’s already pricey.

Loved the inn but the food is very disappointing, ordinary and not well prepared except for the desserts. I think they need some new blood in the kitchen. My spinach salad had 1/2 an egg, a couple of mushrooms and some very dried out polenta croutons…poached salmon on top of another salad was dry and over cooked…

Service was good, location stunning, however food is horrible. The “crispy” chicken that I ordered was disgusting. It looked and tasted like it had been made the day before. Unpalatable. The arugula salad was meh. It was my day off from cooking for my family and I feel like it was a waste

Great ambiance, very good food, and surprisingly poor service. Seven of us went for lunch on 7/5/21 and appreciated the large number of choices on the menu. I enjoyed a tuna salad sandwich with two slices of ripe tomato on a delicious fresh crescent roll. The Hungarian mushroom soup that preceded the sandwich was also excellent. However, a major drawback was that our server did not check back to us after serving our food, so we were not able to request drink refills and a condiment that was needed. She did finally appear as we were finishing, and I asked a question about one of the desserts. She told me in a stern voice to read the menu which she said provided all the information I needed. We did not order dessert.

I was super disappointed this time, with the service. We had to wait a while to be seated despite having called for a reservation and there were plenty of tables. We sat and waited again for a long time before anyone acknowledged us. Finally, a young woman gave us water and said our waiter Mike would be coming soon. Waited for another while and Mike came in from the outside seating area and made an audible sound of displeasure at seeing our table. He never did our service, the young woman ended up taking our orders. It will be a long time before I eat there again.

If it wasn’t for the experience of the grounds, I would say that the trip to the Inn for lunch was not worth it. The poached Salmon salad was the worst salad I have ever had. It was all romaine lettuce with only 4 little pieces of tomatoe and a few slices of cucumber and onion. The poached Salmon was very small and the salad was otherwise very bland.

We were looking forward to enjoying the Fall foliage and a lunch stop at the Glen Iris Inn. While the food was quite good the service fell far short of what we expected for such a legendary, iconic venue. The hostess was a bit gruff and our waitress was terrible. Our waitress got one of our orders wrong, she failed to clear drink glasses after a request to do so, she forgot our drink refill order and we had to reorder and she kept us waiting over 20 minutes for our check (she came in from outside and we suspected she was out having a cigarette). We were quite disappointed.

Only had a very small lunch menu at the time. Started with the French onion soup which was the best part of the meal, but still not great. Ordered the turkey club and tuna croissant. Both were decent but not worth the price. Very average or below average food. Service was sub par. Restaurant was not busy. Food was delivered quickly, but after that I had to wait at least 15 minutes to find my waitress to get a refill for my water. When she did return I could smell the cigarette smoke on her and knew that she was out having a smoke break. I tipped accordingly.

The restaurant was beautiful. Our waitress was great. Unfortunately, after our meals were already at the table, we heard another waitress tell their table about the soup of the day.. my fav.. pumpkin bisque. Maybe this review would be different if I knew that because from there I would have ordered the bisque & Brie app & made it my meal & maybe it would have been amazing. But I ordered chicken parm. It was a boiled piece of unseasoned dry chicken with sauce & cheese broiled on top. The dinner rolls were hard & barely any sauce to sop up anyway. Dessert was pumpkin trifle. Tasty but had a cool whip taste. Also, don’t fall for the $16 made in china glasses at the gift shop. They are on Amazon 6 for $20.

This is a rating for the food. The prices are extremely high priced for mediocre (at best) food. We had a steak with blue cheese butter….the steak was so cold when it came out, the butter did not even soften! The only thing that was edible was the Caesar salad. I’m not over exaggerating. Save your time and your money. The location however, is TOP NOTCH! So if ambiance is the only thing you want, then this could be your place.

The location and scenery are amazing, however that's what you're paying for when you come to eat here. My wife and I paid over 140 dollars for dinner and an appetizer that were pretty bland with small portion sizes. We left feeling robbed and wished we went elsewhere. Don't be like us.

Tried to grab a beer on the porch while rain was coming in. We asked the host, who was very nice. We waited long enough that I went back inside to make sure we were in the right place. That time, I spoke to two people, one of whom stared at me like I just told her I was taking her brand new puppy away from her. No one ever came out. When we walked by the window to the dining room as we left, we saw two guests inside. My original plan had been to stop for lunch, but we got delayed- now I’m so glad we didn’t try that! Location is gorgeous. The middle falls are directly outside the building, and they’re breathtaking.

My wife and went here for dinner on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary, the service was good, but the food was terrible. I got a prime rib that was fatty and cold, and my wife got the filet that looked more like a sirloin and tasted like nothing because it was so dry. She had to dip it in the au jus just make edible. I grew up less than a mile from the park, and I had only been there once before, and that was over 20 years ago, and I do not recall it being this bad.

I tried to have lunch here today. Key word: TRIED. Because I’m a party of one, the host would only seat me at a high top table on the corner of the porch. I requested a normal height seat outside and was told they couldn’t seat me because those are only for “parties of 4 or 8.” Idk what they do if a party of 6 asks to be seated outside… There were many open tables available outside, the staff didn’t appear rushed or frazzled, and I only wanted a glass of wine and lite snack, so I cannot think of any reason for turning a guest away.

I will begin by saying that I have been to this restaurant many times over the years and I was pleased with the service and the meal, albeit a bit pricey. However, on 6/22/2025, my daughter and I went there a little before 5 pm for dinner. Sadly, we were "served" by a very rude waitress. She stated that had she known we wanted the dinner menu (instead of the "interlude" menu) that she would not have seated us until 5 pm, even though the place was nearly empty. On that note, she walked away and left us sitting there with no water or dinner menus. Two families with kids came in a few minutes later, still before 5 pm, were seated in a different area of the place, with different servers, and were immediately served water and were given dinner menus. There were 2 waitresses in our area and, sadly, neither one would serve us. About 15 minutes later, we grew tired of waiting and asked the guy manning the desk at the entrance to be seated somewhere else in a nearly empty restaurant. His reply, "All the other tables are already reserved". Our waitress tried to start an argument, which I refused to answer. At long last, the regular hostess, whom I am assuming is the manager, arrived. At that point, our waitress morphed into a completely different person, kind, courteous, helpful. We had dinner although we were dismayed by what had happened. We paid our bill, almost $90 for 2 chicken parmesan dinners with a tip and left with a sad feeling about what had happened. I would normally rate this place as a 5. However, given the attitude and the service of these servers, I settled on a 1. So sad.

The food was disgusting. French onion soup was salty so much that I felt a heartbeat. There was a big peace of a cheap dry bread. It was impossible to eat. Service is the same as food. I told what I didn't like it, nobody cared. We had 5 people and they gave us a table for 4 with additional chair, at the same time having bigger available tables. Overpriced. They just use this location. Restaurant is old and stinky.
