When you first walk in, not only are you greeted by welcoming smiles, you are also greeted with the awesome aroma of great food. All smiles aside though, the food was delicious, the wait staff were very nice and cordial. My lady and I think this place will become another place on our list to visit frequently. I highly recommend you try this place, it's great for a first date, first impressions, or just an all around great time... and it does not break the bank.
Came here on a snow day so it wasn't busy. Not sure how it is on a normal Tuesday night though But for us it was awesome. The food came out quickly. We also took a long time to order because of a language barrier. The menus are only in English. But you can use Google translate to take pictures and it will translate the picture texts. The waitress was really patient with us and we didn't feel rushed at all even though we only had about an hour an half before they closed. 10pm. We ordered the peach sangria it is always really good. The bread and seasonings with the oil that comes with it was warm and when I out too much oil she was able to bring us more seasonings. Gosh she was really nice I wish I could remember her name. Even the food runner/support staff was really nice . She was spanish so my friend started asking her all sorts of questions too haha and what she liked and recommended haha. She wasn't annoyed at all and even gave us her name incase we needed more help. I'm really glad it wasn't busy though because I would've felt so awful haha. And I still did. We settled on the crabcakes. Burrata with tomato appetizers. Salmon entre with mash potatoes and an Italian salad. All of it was really good. If I had to complain about anything it would be that the capers on the salmon was too salty FOR ME though. That's personal preference since I normally eat plainer foods. And for 10$ got a 10oz sirloin with mash and penne to go! It was awesome and I'm really glad the waitress recommended that for us! Thanks again for being so awesome . Carrabbas is definitely a new favorite place to go!
I visited as part of a group earlier this year and was extremely impressed with the service and the passion of the staff. The food was on another level altogether. If you like Italian cooking then this is a must do restaurant. In my opinion, Carrabba's has some of the most authentic and delicious Italian cooking on earth. Tasty beyond. Will definitely be back when I am in NY next
First time here and I've got no complaints. Wasn't expecting much so I didn't want to try something too out there and the flavors were great and the food was fresh and hot. Servers were working as best as they could and the experience was overall great. The deals helped as well. The place can easily seat any size party you'd like to bring.
UPDATE 10/09/2021 Cory, I really appreciate you reaching out to me and I enjoyed our conversation. You also gave me additional insight to other variables that may have contributed to my experience as I ordered through GrubHub and didn't dine it. I certainly look forward to an opportunity to visit your establishment in the near future to experience in house dining and taste the difference. Thank you again.. UPDATE 10/07/2021 Wrote you two days ago in response to your response of my review and have yet to hear from you. I am not sure if it was my high expectation of what Italian food should taste like or just the food but I was truly disappointed. I ordered dinner for my family and normally I don't like to order pasta or pasta with sauce from any place because I expect my pasta to be al dente and my sauce to have flavor. The penne was overcooked and the sauce was bitter and had a canny taste that my own parmesan cheese could not make edible. I also ordered the chicken parmesan and it was equally disappointing. While it looked good it too had no flavor and had a paper thin slice of what I believe was mozzarella. In addition the cutlet itself was overcooked or possibly reheated giving it a rubbery hard texture. I also ordered the house salad and I guess what can you expect it had lettuce, a few cut up pieces cucumbers and a sprinkle of some type of cheese. My daughter had the same thing I did except she ordered the garlic mash potatoes in place of the penne. The potatoes had so much garlic they were light brown and bitter. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries for my granddaughter because she loves them but after one bite of the chicken fingers said she didn't like them or the fries. So I tasted them and just as everything else the chicken was overcooked, hard and very bland. I know that some people would think I was overly critical or nitpicking but when you pay close to $ 100 on a meal from a restaurant that claims to cook authentic Italian food that is what you expect and nothing less. For all of that I could have and should have ordered pizza.
Last night out on long island. Going to miss my family a ton. It was a great time this summer at the beach seeing Foghat and the amazing time with the smoker for my grandkids birthday party. And my wonderful daughter's birthday who is raising a beautiful family. Last night at carrabba's. Not the same portion are smaller and not as good. I had the eggplant parmesan and there was very little red sauce.
Last time I will order to-go from this location. More than $20 for a cold, soggy, half sized piece of Lasagna. could not even finish it. I get it, it’s Carabba’s. I’m not ordering from a five star Italian restaurant, but they really should do better. I don’t know what employee thinks it’s acceptable to allow food looking like this to be packaged into a to-go order but they should be embarrassed
I went to CARRABBA’S Italian Grill in Central Islip on my son’s birthday April 07/2023 to have dinner with my wife and my son. The salads came fine, but my son entry pasta a la vodka with shrimps came with a hair in. They took a lot of time remaking his dish. Our food get cold while we wait for my son’s dish. Then the manager came to apologize and promised to honor it with something special even it’s my son’s birthday (reason we went there). Nothing was done on the manager side, furthermore, the waitress brought the check with nothing honoring us. Accidents happen and customers are the ones who keep the business running . I shouldn’t be doing this review if the manager takes care of the service in the kitchen and tables
