For the price point, a solid neighborhood sushi spot. The deluxe sushi hit the spot with a nice selection of fresh fish. They also have a nice selection of 300 ml bottles of sake and the overall vibe and service is great! I’ll return.

Food was delicious, came out hot, but did not last because it was devoured so quickly! My partner raved about the miso soup (the dish he places heavy weight on when assessing an eatery) so much that I ended up getting my own, and it sure was good!! I don't eat fish sushi so I was very happy to see that they offer peanut avocado roll as it's my favorite, but many places don't/won't make it. My haru maki (spring rolls) were crispy and flavorful, and held up well through biting, dipping, etc. Pork gyoza were great. We shared a bottle of sake. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable. It was a wonderful last meal before I underwent surgery the following morning.

Wow! What an amazing lunch. Cost around $40. Udon noddle lunch came w 3 California pieces, salad, soup, and rice. Three sushi platter came w six rolls each, rice, and salad. The spicy tuna had amazing flavor. The wasabi was smooth, which is a way I've never described wasabi, but it was tasty! Highly recommend!

Dai Hachi Sushi is more creative and succulent than most other sushi restaurants out there! We were impressed by their stellar service and you feel right at home when you engage with their staff in both Manhattan and Long Island City locations. The Pepper Tuna Sashimi, Yellowtail Jalapeño Appetizer and Deep Fried Green Tea Tempura Ice Cream stand out but everything is so delicious here!

Went twice here. The first I had chicken karage and Sapporo draft. Karage was very hot, crunchy and the chicken juicy, while the beer was cold and crisp. On my second time I ordered the lunch special: 3 rolls for 16 dollars and includes soup and salad. fish was fresh and rolls were neatly made. A lot of bang for your buck. Quality sushi for this price is hard to find.

Best sit down sushi lunch special in Manhattan. $13 for 2 rolls or $16 for 3 rolls, comes with soup and salad and hot green tea. Plus the service is outstanding. Staff is super attentive and always refilling your water and tea. Amazing spot. Do yourself a favor and check it out

There were not a lot of people inside when first I came in but I ended up being blown away by the quality of food and service. The portion sizes were great; especially for the appetizers. The food was high quality and reasonably priced. Our waters never dipped below half full (or half empty) before our server was there to refill them. 10/10 service, 10/10 food.

Wow! I so rarely write reviews, but I had to. I got the sashimi lunch special and it was delicious. the sushi was so fresh - something I have really struggled with finding in midtown east recently. Will definitely be returning - worth the higher prices.

Stopped in for my wifes birthday and went Roll crazy. Definitely recommend it if you're near 59th St. But like most sushi places, I'd suggest to just stick to the rolls and sashimi.

We each ordered a cocktail and then was told that they also had a happy hour menu. I wish they had those menus somewhere but the cold sake was only $12 (around 6 shots)! We ordered their "sushi for two" which was plenty for the both of us. I loved the ocean roll! I didn't think that the tuna was super fresh. 2 cocktails($13/), 2 orders of sake ($12/), 1 sushi for 2 ($80), 2 mochi ice creams ($6/) came out to $140! Not bad at all! Attentive service and quiet ambiance. Would definitely dine again!!

Happy hour saki was nice but I expected more from their sushi based on the prior reviews. It was ok. As was the price. No sushi bar.
