Fabulous! Tried a couple Robata grill items, all of which were flavorful; baby octopus, pork belly, ribeye, and the delicious and impressive miso duck. Also tried a side of the Soto broth which had a very impressive flavor profile. Lastly I had the Imperial Tea cocktail, which was just perfect. I sat at the bar with a cutie named Kay, who was very informative and accommodating. I aim to join them for their upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.
I love coming to Hopstix! My favorite thing to order is the nigiri 🍣 because the fish is such incredible quality. I’ve never been disappointed by a single item on the menu — everything from the sushi to the robata is delicious. Kay and Tasia are so friendly and make amazing cocktails 🍹
Love HopStix! Went on a date night and sat at the bar. Hand rolls, Cali Crab, and Tuna Crispy Rice with a Gold Fashioned all on point. Great staff. Great people watching. We had a lovely evening.
I really enjoyed this place. My friend and I sat at the bar … just because it’s our favorite place to sit … always something going on. The whole staff that we encountered were kind, knowledgeable and polite. I ordered a Yellow Fin tuna collar. Penny ordered a Pork Belly Bon Mi. Both were so delicious that I’m quite sure they will be serving this in heaven 😊. We tried a Nishiki rice lager … which was light and delightful … perfect for a mid day meal and this meal in particular. Thank YOU all at Hopstix for a wonderful afternoon.
I tasted my first Jellyfish! It was delicious! Love the ambiance! Upscale vibe, but laid back venue. Very clean. I love that a literally look over and see what’s happening in the kitchen. Lena was our waitress and she had such a happy spirit. Excellent E V E R Y T H I N G!!! Parking was easy.
Hopstix is a hidden gem in the heart of Chamblee. It's truly exciting to have an Asian Brewpub in the midst of the booming brewery scene in Atlanta. Such a novelty! The crafted rice lagers were crisp and clean. We enjoyed our flight sample very much. The food reminded us of the Asian social and communal dining culture of grilled meats and beer-- albeit a more elevated version. We enjoyed everything that came from the grill-- really great char smoky flavor. The yellowtail collar is a must! The menu extended beyond street foods. It was quite extensive and had a little something for everyone.
Delicious food with a very nice vibe. Great service and good selection of beers. The baos, the sushi rolls and the squash crab soup were amazing! Outdoor space is nice and is pet friendly. We will come back there for sure.
The food was great and so was the atmosphere. The owners are kind and care about their customers
One of the best Asian beer breweries in Georgia. They have a chilled vibe. We tried multiple beer on the flight. The stand out beer for me is the matcha rise and shine lager, it has subtle finish of matcha. Their IPA is flavorful. And we had curry fried and calamari. Both were good. The price of the beer is reasonable. The price of whiskey is very high. Our next table told us that the cocktails were good. Staff was friendly. Plenty of parking with additional parking on the side.
We threw a co-ed baby shower at Hopstix last weekend and it was phenomenal. The space was perfect, food and beverage was amazing, and staff was very accommodating. We arrived 2 hours before the event to start decorating and held the shower for 3 hours. All of the guests were commenting on how good the food was, and how friendly and prompt the servers were. I would 100% go back to Hopstix for events I need to host, and for everyday casual dining!
A delicious dinner - loved the cocktails, specifically the Red Carpet and Firecracker. The spicy edamame was a perfect start. Loved the soup, Katsu Curry, Basil Fried Rice with salmon!! We’ll be back.
Great Asian brewpub! Ordered the Korean fried wings along with three beers while here; a rice lager, a Mexican lager, and a hazy IPA. All three beers were very tasty, and the wings were great. Sat at the bar with roughly 3-5 other people who came and went during my visit. Staff were very attentive and my food and drinks came out quickly after ordering. Some reviews say this place used to be great, but this is my first time here despite living in the Atlanta area for a long time and it was great to me. I actually came here to check out the beer and was even more blown away by the food.
I particularly like the Yellowtail Collar. It is a limited item, so get yours before they run out. This location serves a superb fish meal that is perfectly cooked. The flavor is just wonderful. The H.F.C. is also decent. They are extremely tender fried chicken nuggets. The breading is well-seasoned, and the sweet chili sauce is a perfect combination.
We absolutely love this cute little spot. We saw it on Best Eats Atlanta. Since we were in they area, we had to try it! First off let me tell you we are big foodies! We love authentic food that makes you think of home. The serving size we more than enough. We just did appetizers! We got the Pork belly Bao Buns, Fry Dumplins, Wings and Pork belly tacos. You will not be dissatisfied, the flavor out of this world. Everything was fresh and completely delicious! I got the M.S.G Kettle Sour- absolutely my favorite!!! Hubz got de flight! Woah was it full of savory flavor. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Our server Dana was absolutely phenomenal, her joyful spirit was very refreshing!
Wow what a great place to both eat and hang out! The restaurant architecture is hip. There is both inside and outside seating with nice open spaces. On the inside there is a nice size bar and open kitchen where you can see the chef's at work. Note because of that it can get a bit warm if you're seated in front of it, so chose the other side or back. As for accessibility the doorways, table spaces and bathroom access were accommodating. Parking is very tight, you can park across the street just note the signs where you can't park or you'll be towed. Now for the food! OMG! We ate tapas style where we ordered and shared as much as we could eat across the menu. From the Robata Grill we had the lamb and miso duck breast. Honestly I don't have words for how delicious both were but the duck and its presentation were amazing and the better of the two. From the Raw Bar we ordered Bluefin Tuna, Madai Red Snapper, Tuna Tartare, Kamikaze and from the summer menu the Rainbow Spring roll and Larb Lettuce Wrap. Again, the presentations for all were amazingly prepared and presented. The sushi was very fresh, tuna had the right deep red color and the snapper was the freshest I've ever had - I've eaten sushi in Japan and many other great places in this world and this place is right up there! One of my favorite things to order is tuna tartare but not every place "gets it right". I have to say this place has the best I've ever had. Ever. The right mix of herb and other flavors and of course the tuna quality. The sushi rolls were also delicious and had great flavors and freshness in every bite. I'm not a fan of the lettuce wraps in general but if you like them I'd say you'd like theirs, had good texture and spices along with fresh lettuce. The service was amazing. The server covered our table and every request quickly. The food came amazingly fast, we ordered tapas style and every order appeared in minutes, it was like our dish was already sitting waiting on us to order. Would I go back? OMG, ahhh yah!! Everyday if I could!
Delicious Korean Fried Wings cooked to perfection. The server was excellent and great atmosphere. Was with 8 other persons and everyone loved their food. One had the short ribs and said it was great, the sushi was great, and the very talked about great flavored fries. Easy to find. I would highly recommend.
A wonderful Chamblee restaurant in a really nice location and super friendly staff. A wonderful and varied food and beverage menu. Attended a group event and were seated in the private side room with lots of space and nice decor. Everyone loved their choices, some from the Tuna Thursday special menu. I ordered the Thai Basil Faux-Jito and miso ramen and loved both. The interior ambiance is really nice. Lovely outdoor seating as well.
Brought my cousin who visited me from Indiana. This place is highly recommended. The chef used to work at Magic Finger sushi. Awesome freshly brewed beers with great food. Delicious...
Wife and I stopped in here for lunch and to try the beers after a recent trip to view Van Gogh Immersive Experience at the Exhibition Hub Art Center in Doraville. This was our 86th brewery, most of which have been in Georgia. Hopstix is one of the few breweries inside the I-285 perimeter that is open around noon on the east side of the I-75 corridor during weekdays. We had a couple flights as is our usual practice and I was really impressed with their Rice Lager as well as their Czech Pilsner as examples of the styles. Quite tasty and very drinkable. My wife like the Kung Fu Hops IPA best, while I preferred the Lyrical Swords of their two IPAs. The second flight was of their "brown ales", though they were out of the 9% barrel aged porter so we had the Golden Phoenix "petite blonde" Belgian instead. The Porter was quite good, though it struck me was more on the "stouty" side of the style (many may not know that stouts are actually "stouter" porters, though the differences in the styles have grown since the 18th century - for me, a porter is generally maltier and sweeter, with typically a lower ABV than a stout). Wife liked their "mild" ale better in this set, but I thought the ESB, "Long Time No See", quite good. It's nice to see a craft brewery doing traditional English style beers and ales rather than just focusing on IPAs and Sours. As my wife wasn't particularly hungry, we wound up splitting a burger. Hopstix is a essentially a Japanese restaurant, along with the brewery, but they do an extremely good burger. Per usual, we sat at the bar and as this was lunchtime the place was quite busy and the bartender was also serving tables, but she handled it all in stride with a great sense of humor and smile on her face. All in all we had a wonderful experience.
Great food! Everything was delicious and staff was kind. Is a little pricey but for what you get it is SO worth it! 🌟 the lychee cocktail (red carpet?) Is SO good! 100% recommend
The food is not only delicious, but so many of the dishes are beautiful too! I filled myself silly on starter dishes like the chicken satay, HFC, and fried chicken dumplings. I saw other tables get visually stunning bowls, which I'll have to return to try. Alicia took great care of my partner and I. The drink selection is great, there's something for everyone. It's an extra treat that you can watch the chefs cook while dining in certain parts of the building.
Having visited here a few times now I can say they are consistent with their delicious dishes and customer service. This is a restaurant serving Asian food that also brews their own beer in the back. The food is fantastic, the bowls are filled with ingredients that make each bite unique and full of different textures and flavors. The Miso Ramen was hearty and the pork belly was perfect, I would have liked some more spice which I'm sure I could have asked for. The other ingredients like the Nori, onions, carrots and egg were great additions! They have a wide variety of beers that range from the more available IPA's to unique specialty beers. The staff has always been amazing and the interior is beautiful and light. Yes they can get busy and there can be a wait.
Everything was delicious! I will be returning to try other menu items, especially the rolls. The drinks were strong and the service was great. Tasia and Lea were great.
They have really great and fresh beer! If you would like to take some home, they are a bit expensive since its a small brewery. I think it’s worth paying a bit extra, since it’s really fresh. My beer I got from them was canned just two days ago. Food is very nice. I’m not a big fusion fan, especially those “Asian inspired”, since a lot of them end up messing up both sides of fusion. However, this place does it right! Everything was great.
This post is for everyone, and especially for my fellow foodies who live OTP. Short story, you need to drive ITP asap and enjoy a meal at Hopstix. You will NOT be disappointed! My wife and I recently enjoyed dinner at Hopstix with some of our foodie friends from Alpharetta. The drive was well worth it. Upon arriving, we were greeted and seated in a corner table near the window that looked out on the patio. Soon after, water arrived as did our server - AJ - who took our beverage orders. The beer selection at Hopstix is excellent and curated well. In light of wide variety of choices, I enjoyed a flight. And as Hopstix is an Asian Brewpub, it includes a number of rice-based beers. The menu offers an abundance of choices and we explored a good bit of it. For starters, we sampled the Shishito peppers, steamed chicken dumplings, and the short rib. The Shishitos and short rib were cooked on skewers over the Robata grill. ALL of the appetizers were delicious! On to the main course... After much debate, because everything looked SO good, we each ordered a bowl - one choice was Soto, another was the Katsu Curry, the third was Super Bowl, and the last was Basil Fried Rice (with Tofu). After sampling each other's choice, the only thing I can say is "grand slam." Each bowl was very flavorful and the portion sizes were on point. During the course of our meal, Amy - co-owner of Hopstix with her husband - stopped by to check in on us. It was a nice touch, and she is very kind and sweet. Additionally, throughout our meal, AJ, our server, took impeccable care of us. Her beer and food recommendations were excellent, and she was attentive to any and all needs. While enjoying our meal and the positive vibe of Hopstix, we noticed a true gentle man arrive with his little dog. After situating his pooch on the patio, the man stepped inside to get a beer. He then sat on the patio and enjoyed the lingering warmth of the day and the company of his best friend. Both seemed to have not a care in the world, except each other. We later learned the man's name is Scott and his dog's name is Toto. They stop by Hopstix every day, even when it's not open. If that's not an endorsement for a quality dining spot, I don't know what is. If you've not eaten at Hopstix, what are you waiting for?
First visit and already making plans to return. Thai spaghetti and the Pork Belly were delicious. Presentation was awesome and the meal was exceptionally delicious! Kicking myself for taking so long to visit Hopstix!
Great visit. Lively establishment. The food was outstanding. Great variety of food and drinks. Parking is ample. Liz was outstanding. She took fantastic care of us. Hopstix definitely earned a return trip for us. Thank you.
I’m Italian and I’ve been in many big cities, NYC Miami Madrid Paris Rome Milan… never found such a place where Asian cuisine is so well melted and the products you may have are a culturallywise chosen and cooked. Super suggested!
Visited for dinner. Ordered the snapper and curry fries as appetizer. Both were excellent. Dinner had two of the miso ramen bowls, Thai spaghetti and Bacon scallops. Everything was delicious and presented well. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Server was efficient, but not friendly. She was not interested in offering suggestions or answering questions. Just, “everything is good!” When asking about allergies, she did not have answers but she can type in allergy to see what happens. Comfortable dining area that was spacious and both lighting and music perfect level. Will return but hope for a more engaging server.
Amazing service and food! I sat at the bar and Kay was an amazing bartender. He made really good drinks and recommended some really good food!! I will be back to try the rest of the menu!
Hopstix is a lively Asian‑fusion brewpub blending inventive street‑food‑inspired dishes with house‑made craft beers in a fun, casual setting. Guests love the bold flavors across a diverse menu — from bao and ramen to sushi and robata grilled items — paired with creative brews and friendly service. Great choice for relaxed dinners, group outings, and beer lovers looking for something different.
I was so excited to try this place and it did not disappoint! The food was phenomenal. Everything was so fresh and delicious. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. The seating was little cramped and it was loud but I’ll definitely be back regardless
It has become my favorite place I think. Are there better restaurants? Probably, but if you ask me, this is where I want to go. Sometimes it is better to have a reservation but it is always worth the wait if you don't. The menu has enough variety that you will always be in the mood for something on it and it will always be too notch. It is like a Disneyland of beers but oddly enough the brewmaster's Belgian varieties always hit.
Well versed menu with unique dishes. I heard that this place gets pretty crowded on weekends. Luckily, I went for lunch and was seated right away. The outdoor seating and bar areas are a vibe and a good place for photos. This would be a great place for a casual date. Everything we ordered was good. The only issue was the limited wait staff. However, I understood why.
Lovely spot with a broad food selection. Very nice atmosphere, and something for everyone to enjoy. We got about 10 different dishes for the table to share, and everything was delicious. Top faves are all robata grill - pork belly, duck, mushrooms, shishito, octopus. One thing to note is that all robata is covered in sweet glaze, so if you’re not a fan of sweet, tell the server to keep it off or on the side. Same goes for the burger. Service was good, but they were very evidently slammed and (understandably) understaffed. Have your orders ready when the server comes by - it may take a while to see them again. Stil, our server was very considerate, helpful, and did a geat job overall, in spite of being so busy and stressed out! Don’t miss the beer flights! Rice and Shine is also delicious and very refreshing.
This is a great brewery & restaurant. Some of their brews are Japanese inspired, so you will find a twist to the flavor that you are used to. The have a decent selection, were the combine their own beers with imported. If you are not a beer fan, you can enjoy a nice wine selection and several cocktail and spirits. Regarding the food I have mixed feelings. On one hand, the couple things that we tried were savory, but on the other hand, the prices are quite high for the tiny amount of food served. If you keep in mind that this is like a fine Japanese/sushi restaurant (not buffet type at all), the prices don’t seem that outrageous. The server that was on the bar section was really courteous and helpful. We’ll definitely come back to try different beverages and plates.
Outstanding! By all means go to this place! The only "not so good" dish was the basil rice. It was ok but that's it. EVERYTHING else, from the octopus to the pork belly to... well the beers (WOW!) was outstanding.
Let me start with how wonderful the service was. It is so nice to have a great server that's attentive to your individual needs and can make outstanding recommendations. I so love their beers and the craft cocktails at tasty, to boot. The menu is diverse with refreshingly well layered flavors. Love it.
There is parking at the restaurant as well as street parking. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Open kitchen, so you can see the chefs doing the magic. Also a full bar available. A large selection of drinks available. I skipped drinks this time around. Steamed chicken dumplings: you can choose if you want steamed or fried. The flavor was a bit lacking, but the sauce helped make up for it. Let’s roll out sushi: tasted very fresh and the flavor was on point. Even though the salmon was semi raw, it didn’t have a weird texture. (This is coming from someone who typically doesn’t enjoy any amount of raw sushi) Basil fried rice: would skip. Kinda bland and the chicken was dry. I’ve had the ramen from a previous visit and it was delicious - would probably opt for that instead of the rice. Service was a bit slow, our water was never refilled. Cute place to grab a beer or two though if you are in the area. Super close to Chinatown!
We had a party of 3 at 7:30 on a Tuesday in July. There was a 20 minute wait. Very fun vibes. The café lighting outside is so cute. We didn’t get any beer or cocktails this time and the last time I had it was 3 years ago, so I can’t comment on that! But we did get food. Here’s what we got: - Curry Fries ($7): Very good. The fries were perfectly crisp on the outside. - Tuna Tataki Salad ($16): Very good. Huge portion. - Tuna Tartare ($18): Wouldn’t get this again. Small portion. For $18 and not enough for a full meal, it’s not worth it to me. We all shared the Curry Fries. I split the Tuna Tataki Salad and the Tuna Tartare with my friend. The Tuna Tataki Salad was definitely the better of the two. Overall, we all enjoyed our meals. I would definitely go back to Hopstix! They have a lot of options on their menu and I want to try more!
Cool new space and concept. Brewery + raw bar, plenty of solid options for those who don't like raw seafood. Went for soft opening. Eager to return and try in house brewed beer. Crudo and cocktails were unique and amazing. Calamari flavorless. Tempura squash was a bit too rich. Bartender/manager/owner? Super enthusiastic and helpful.
Clean nice restaurant. Salad was fresh and the pork belly was very tasty. I am glad to see this areas is flipping into a active place with new coffee shop, restaurants and bars. Parking was little difficult. Hope in the future more parking will be available. Come check this area out!!
Service: 4/5 Decoration: 4/5 Wait time (table): 20-30 mins without reservation Wait time (food): 30-50 mins Food: 4/5 good to compare to other brewery's food. Presentation is nice, especially the grilled breast duck. It's expensive but good to try. The chicken katsu was good too, has a strong curry taste and strong smell of cumin. The portion is not too small and not too big. The rice for both Bluefin poke ($12) and chicken katsu ($12) is quite wet and mushy but the king crab fried rice ($16) is kinda drier than expected. Beer:4/5 not my liking because I can't take bitter bear but the Going Solo and Trapped king are good for beginner. Have option for the flights (4 kinds for $10)
We dropped in for our sashimi fix, ramen, and dumplings. Service was attentive and efficient. The sashimi was delicious and we enjoyed the micro-brews.
Food is delicious. Variety of Thai and sushi food. Happy to say they had a Czech beer on tap! Parking is tricky and can be scarce. Love the decor and design. Nice and open. Small but nice patio.
Hopstix used to be one of our favorite restaurants when we lived in Atlanta. We used to make the journey from East Atlanta to this restaurant because it was just that good. Now that we live in Austin and are back in town for the holidays, of course we invited our local friends to join us for our first meal back in town. Unfortunately the service and the food quality has changed for the worse. They took my favorite: 3-way-oyster off the menu. It happens... The Hamachi Kama was the size of a chicken wing and greasy. I ordered a top-shelf Gin & Tonic and it came with an old slimy, brown wedge of lime. I took the wedge back to the bar and asked for a new one. The bartender pulled out a container of old lime wedges, dug out a "new" one, and gave it to me. It was less slimy and less brown but not fresh. I used to be a bartender, it's not that difficult to cut fresh fruit at the start of each shift. We will probably not come back nor recommend this place again.
Hopstix is located in Chamblee, GA. It's on its own plot of land with a very tight parking lot. Definitely recommend using their extended parking lot down the road. The restaurant itself is very spacious. There's a long bar along the sides of the interior for those who want to eat facing the kitchen or the bar tender. Tables line the interior space. There is also a side room which is great for any private dining party. There is a really cool and chill ambiance with this place. I love the interior design and color scheme. They a fun environment and it's definitely a great place to bring a big group to. There is a deep alcohol menu that consist of a sorts of drinks. The main dining menu is quite a mix. It's essentially Japanese and some slight fusion. I'll start by saying they use quality ingredients here. The fish is fresh, I'll give them that. The dishes they offer are a little over priced in my opinion. You can get similar dishes are other places for a lot less in price and the quality is just as comparable. Starters: Tuna tartare (3/5) Entree: Sashima salad (4/5) Super bowl (3/5) Robata Grill: Berkshire Bacon Wrap Scallop (4/5) Duck Breast (3/5) Lamb tenderloin (3/5) Beef tongue (2/5) Overall, really nice atmosphere. Fresh seafood. Just a little over priced for what they are offering. Still worth a visit in my opinion.
Bartender ignored me until men sat down near me. It took so long to order, they were out of what I wanted by the time bartender put it in. Bartender knew nothing about food. Tuna (their specialty ) was overcooked and fishy tasting. I couldn't finish it. The curry fries were amazing!!! Not worth the $43 total by any means.
The customer service was good. One of the staff members, a Hispanic woman, was genuinely kind and attentive. Unfortunately, the food quality was very disappointing. The soft-boiled eggs in the tonkatsu ramen were cold and had a fishy smell, indicating they had been stored for too long. The chicken wings were undercooked and had a strong unpleasant odor. After complaining, they were cooked more thoroughly, but the odor remained, indicating the chicken was spoiled. Good sauce and crispy batter cannot make up for bad ingredients. The yellowtail dish was mostly bones, leaving very little edible meat. The chashu also had an unpleasant odor. The ramen broth tasted spoiled even before adding the tonkatsu paste. It seemed as if the broth had gone bad or was made using spoiled meat and bones. The noodles were also undercooked. The only items we actually enjoyed were the pork belly and the grilled vegetables. We paid close to $100 including tip for food of this quality, and it left us feeling extremely disappointed and unhappy.
Another experience of this place closing way earlier than they advertise. Service has never been great, but food always decent when you can get it. Friday night. Says they are open until 11. Arrive at 9:45 and the first thing out of the bartenders mouth was, “kitchen closed at 10.” I said it’s 9:45, he said let me check. Yep. Kitchen is closed.
