First I’d like to say Matthew was amazing, even while hosting and serving at the same time he was attentive and kind and not in a hurry to rush us. The food was great too although I wouldn’t get Texas toast again (too much butter for my liking) the biscuits I saw around the restaurant looked so good. I really enjoyed the grits but all together the meal was satisfying. The location is good as well although super busy during peak hours, reserve a table before you go if you can. It also had a hallway to a neat little shopping center that is definitely worth checking out. It’s a cute little place that just feels nice in general.

I took my work team out to this place not knowing what to expect being that we were from Georgia. Out of the six people that were with me. Everyone's order was a 10 out of 10. Shrimp and grits, blackened mahi mahi every single thing we ordered even the fried pickles were delicious. If you are in the Chattanooga area you must make this your first stop.

Everything was genuinely so good! The space is small but mighty, the whole staff is so respectful and our waitress was the sweetest! The food was also great. We got everything super fast, it was surprising. The food was great and the prices are good.

We love Tupelo Honey and look forward to visiting when we are in town! We’ve ordered the fried green tomatoes with grits, chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, Asheville hot chicken and ranch melt with brussels sprouts and the farmhouse breakfast platter. They happily accommodated our special requests ie extra sausage gravy. This restaurant is definitely how we picture southern cuisine and hospitality. We highly recommend that you check it out!

We decided last minute to try Tupelo Honey. We couldn’t find a parking spot anywhere close by so we left to drive around the block and try one last time. Luck was on our side! A car had just pulled out. We walked into a very warm and welcoming environment. Our server Dino met us immediately and took our drink order. My husband ordered one dozen eggs over easy! It gave our server and the kitchen a good laugh. I had the sweet and spicy chicken and waffle. It was all superb! The environment, the service, the food, the presentation, and especially DINO! We will definitely be back next time we are in town. Highly recommend! 10 out of 10!

We arrived on opening and originally thought our food took a while to prepare but with good reason! Our waitress was so sweet and so attentive. The food was very fresh and delicious! Every dish was well seasoned, clean tasting and well presented. The shrimp and grits were so tasty. So was the garden omelet, chicken n waffles, pancakes and kids grilled chicken. Highly recommend eating here.

Absolutely delicious! I had the salmon with creole seasoning. I can only describe it as being cooked with love. Best I’ve ever had.

Booked online ahead of time and had the Valentines special the day after which included (our choices) 1 appetizer (fried green 🍅🍅), 2 entrees (shrimp & grits, honey dusted fried chicken), & 1 dessert (banana pudding) at a great value. All the food was excellent and our server Maggie was the best. She was so personable and just the right amount of checking in on us. Casual atmosphere and just the laid back and enjoyable environment we needed. Saw families, couples, groups of teens...all generations. And the food came quickly so we had time before heading to the Imax to walk a bit around Warehouse Row...not enough to offset the caloric intake but...would highly recommend.

You can’t go wrong with Tupelo Honey. If you come in hungry you’ll want one of everything- and you’ll be glad you did! (But your stomach will be overfull!) Fried chicken? Unique sauces? Exotic flavors that entice the mouth? Fresh? Herbs that match in unison as they explode within your mouth? YES. All the yes’s!! Salads, desserts, a meatloaf so unique my husband wouldn’t even try MY dish because he did not want to “ruin the experience he had going on”! Staff seems happy to work here and menu items come out quickly. It’s popular, hot and yummy and there’s a great appetizer mix during happy hour. And? They’re opening in Columbus Ohio/ and we’ll be there in the fall! YES! Plus we learned they have places in Idaho and Colorado!

Really good & flavorful comfort food. I had the mountain morning bowl but with extra potatoes instead of grits. Our server, Fei was very kind and helpful. Overall a great experience!!!

My wife and I wanted to try something different so we pitched" The Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen" and we where not disappointed . First they are very polite and attentive. Then they server our drinks in there one cute glasses. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and I love fried green tomatoes. Their fried green tomatoes were served with goat cheese grits butter and a red sauce so amazing top fried green tomatoes paring ever. Then my wife had The black sorghum pepper fried chicken and it was served fresh hot and the flavor was wonderful on the chicken. It was some of the best fried chicken with a twist. And I thought you couldn't have a twist with a southern chicken BLT. But they did it amazingly. With a sweet spicy mayo and chicken cooked to perfection with crispy bacon. I am thoroughly impressed and will eat here when ever I am in Chattanooga.

The shrimp and Grits were magical. They didn't miss a beat. We also had the fried green tomatoes to start. I can't remember the name of the chicken and waffles dish but it was good. The waitress was friendly and did a great job. From entering to exiting it was a great experience. Great customer service.

Absolutely blown away by Tupelo Honey SouthernKitchen & Bar! The food was exquisite. Every dish was a masterpiece. Our server, Marianne, was incredibly attentive and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was perfect for any occasion, romantic dinner, family gathering, etc. I can't recommend this place enough. A must-try!" We will definitely return when we pass by again.

This was my first time eating here. My shrimp and grits was amazing. I had the cucumber lime soda not a fan. The tea was great. My son had the pineapple mango soda not good or not to our liking. He had the cast iron pork dish with macaroni and cheese and fries. The fries were great nicely salted, the right amount of crisp. We will definitely be going back As an appetizer we had the fried pickles. They were made like thin sliced potato chips. Absolutely delicious.

Visited this restaurant on the recommendation of friends who had eaten there before and said it was one of the best meals they had ever had. I had the shrimp and grits, and it was absolutely amazing. We did have a reservation, arrived right on time and were seated almost immediately. A little on the pricey side, but you absolutely get what you pay for, the food was out of this world.

I recently dined at Tupelo Honey and had an incredible experience that left me thoroughly impressed. As someone born and raised in Louisiana, I have high standards when it comes to Southern cuisine, and Tupelo Honey did not disappoint. I started with the Sausage and Beer Gumbo, which was a flavorful and hearty introduction to the meal. The gumbo had just the right balance of spices and richness, making it as good, if not better, than what I’d expect from a local Louisiana restaurant. For the main course, I chose the Smothered Chicken. This dish featured boneless and skinless honey-dusted fried chicken thighs, topped with milk gravy and basil. The chicken was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The combination of the honey dust and milk gravy created a unique and delicious flavor profile that I absolutely loved. My sides were the red beans and rice and their super awesome baked mac and cheese. The red beans and rice were exceptional, with a depth of flavor that transported me back to my favorite Louisiana spots. The baked mac and cheese was a delightful comfort food, creamy and cheesy with a satisfying baked crust. Overall, every dish I tried was really good, and I was particularly impressed by how well they captured the essence of Louisiana cuisine. This was freaking awesome, and I loved every moment of my meal at Tupelo Honey. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Southern food!

The best way to describe it is "delicious to the last bite!" The stone grits with goat cheese was amazing! The eggs were perfect, not even needing and salt or pepper! Biscuit, Jam, even the coffee was exceptional. The staff was super friendly. It's definitely a must go location!

I wanted to celebrate my birthday with shrimp and grits so a friend treated me to Tupelo Honey in Chattanooga. It was absolutely fabulous and did not disappoint me. I loved the atmospehere, architecture of the building, and the service was outstanding. I will certainly go back. The pecan pie was amazing, too.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar, located at 1110 Market St., Suite 121, Chattanooga, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. Our server, Kaitlyn, was absolutely wonderful. She expertly explained the brunch menu items and was quick with our order of coffee and the Biscuits for a Cause appetizer. Her knowledge and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home. For our main courses, I opted for the Asheville Hot Chicken & Mac & Cheese Waffles, which were absolutely delicious. The combination of flavors was simply divine. My companion chose the Harvest Bowl with grilled shrimp, and it was equally tasty. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and left us thoroughly satisfied. The meal, service, and atmosphere at Tupelo Honey were top-notch. We both enjoyed our time there immensely and would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Whether you're a local or just passing through Chattanooga, make sure to stop by Tupelo Honey for a memorable dining experience.

My wife and I had lunch there today for the first time. Our waitress was Bailey and she was great. I got the Chicken BLT sandwich with crispy fries and my wife got the Avocado Bacon with Havarti on whole grain bread with smashed fried potatoes. My sandwich and fries were good and my wife told me that her meal was delicious. The atmosphere was great and so was the service.

This spot was fantastic for southern cooking in Downtown Tennessee. The restaurant was super nice on the inside and the staff was very friendly. We started out the meal with their fresh biscuits which were huge and smelled delicious once they hit the table. They came with butter and jelly which is the perfect combination to add to any biscuit. The fried chicken here is just great. Perfect crunch every bite you take and is just cooked wonderfully. I also ordered the baked mac & cheese and potato cracklins as my side dishes. I thought these dishes would compliment my entree greatly and they did. A true southern meal!! So happy we went here! Also pictured is the Southern Hospitality Mimosa. Which had Peach Nectar and Pineapple Juice. It was just awesome!!

I love this place! I've eaten here a couple of times, once before the pandemic and then today, and both times the food has been fantastic. I love the sweet potato pancake. I order my bacon extra crispy and then crumble it over the pancake to get the bacon, pecan, maple syrup flavor combo with the pancake and it's SO good. My friend and I also split the flight of mimosas. The pineapple was my favorite. Service was very good and our server was attentive. She took our order promptly and brought our food out hot and with my friend's special requests perfectly done. The restaurant has a cool farmhouse vibe to it without being too casual. You can wear a nice pair of jeans or dress up a bit more, but it's not dressy dressy. It's family friendly but also has a full bar. It's very popular, especially for brunch, and I definitely recommend a reservation, which you can make online. I'll definitely be back again!

We had a great time, service great, our server was good and the guy that helped her out a few times was great, but most impressive was the back of house. Our food was great, we enjoyed everything from the appetizers to the deserts. Only down side was the bar is being remodeled and so they only had beer and wine and no cocktails. We had the fried green tomatoes which were phenomenal(sorry no pic), I highly recommend. My daughter had kids grilled cheese and Mac and cheese. My dad had the smothered chicken and waffles with fries(fries are bomb) and Mac cheese. My mom had the harvest bowl which was really good and I typically don’t like that kind of thing but it had great flavor. Wife had fried chicken and waffles. I had the bistro filet with cheddar mashed potatoes and a side of Mac and cheese. I’m a connoisseur of Mac and cheese and it’s good here but not the best I’ve had, I wish it was a little creamy but it’s still enjoyable. Pecan pie and banana pudding for desert, both excellent but sorry no photos of desert as we couldn’t stop from eating long enough to take any pics. This is a great southern meal elevated to higher class and it’s done very well. A little expensive but not too bad and worth it.

Tupelo Honey was well worth the wait! We did not make reservations (highly recommend it because it is quite busy) but we were able to walk around the local shops while waiting. I believe we waited around 45 minutes which the hostess was fully transparent with before waiting. We ordered the Shrimp & Grits, Ginger Beer, and the Mountain Morning Bowl. Everything was wonderful and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We definitely would recommend it!

Absolutely lovely place. Had a wonderful time with my family. Service was prompt and quick. Loved their chicken and waffle creations (yes there are multiple of them). Their drinks were out of this world, especially the citrus one. Recommend you make a reservation if you don't want to wait for a seat

The service was great, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere is nice! We both had the whiskey onion smash burger which was amazing, as were the fried green tomatoes. I love the biscuits with blueberries and butter they bring upon arrival!

We had a great experience at Tupelo Honey. They made room for our big party last minute and the waitress was great. She was polite, as well as, very knowledgeable . She gave us great recommendations for dinner and they turned out amazingly. They have great healthy options for dinner and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Price is medium but seemed fitting for the quality. We definitely enjoyed our experience here.

Was looking and nothing in particular wanted to eat but so happy found this great place. We sat outside, since it was a nice day. The service was great. Loved the glasses our drinks came in. I ordered the sliders with fries but the kitchen did a burger instead. My son got the chicken fingers and fries. Both dishes were fabulous!!!! Will save this place to come back to if back in the area.

This probably the best chicken and waffles I have ever had!!!! The boneless chicken skin was crispy and the inside was juicy. They add their own "honey dust" seasoning or something and it really made a difference. The waffles were good but its not that hard to mess up waffles lol. It did come with a sorta steep price point though (~$17) but it was honestly worth it. I came during lunch on Thursday and did not have to wait at all, so many tables. Our waitress was super friendly!

We discovered this place by mistake and so glad that we did! Beautiful Southern charm decor, friendly hospitality and knowledgeable staff, and the FOOD! Wonderful menu offerings, served hot and fresh to order. Everything was cooked properly and seasoned well. One of my favorite places that we ate at in Chattanooga, and definitely on my list to return to.

Amazing food and service! So many options. We had never been and realized there's one in our local town and so excited to try more yummy dishes it was so hard to pick because everything looked delicious. The waffles, shrimp and grits, Brussel sprouts and fried pickles were AMAZING!

A
Anna “AJ” Humpleby-Heil

The goat cheese grits were creamy and delicious. The breading on the fried chicken was well seasoned, but not a ton of flavor in the chicken itself. All staff members we interacted with were friendly, and food came out extremely fast. The vibes are cozy—a unique blend of modern, industrial, and rustic with tasteful bee and honey motifs.

We are on our honeymoon and driving 6 hours home. I decided we would veer off the path an hour to try this place out as who knows how long it will be before we are in this area again. I’ve heard great things about this place! I did a little research online and was asked to make a reservation, and to download an app. When I downloaded the app I put in we are celebrating our honeymoon. I received a notification that we would receive a free pint glass. ( no mention of this nor did we get this glass ) Also read that parking was free. We arrived at 12:00 and all parking was full. The meter would not accept a card from either of our bank accounts. We scrounged up enough quarters to buy us 55 minutes and crossed our fingers. When we entered the establishment we were not greeted by the hostess. I went up and gave our information and we were immediately seated. Our server was Matthew. And let me tell you he was phenomenal! Definitely had a servants heart. He took very good care of us. Now onto the food what brought us to this location was the chicken and waffles with the peach compote. They said they were out of peach compote until Wednesday … disappointing but that’s ok. My husband ordered the meatloaf , Brussels, and rosemary potato’s. Everything he had was absolutely amazing ! We were impressed. I ordered the bee dusted chicken with gravy , grits , and rosemary potato’s. Mine was phenomenal as well except for the chicken. It had no special seasoning taste to us. Just tasted like very basic fried chicken. So I give it all 4/5 stars. I will say we were dressed pretty bummy as we are riding home all day. Had I known how nice of an establishment this was. We definitely would have dressed a little bit nicer. We felt like a sore thumb.

The fresh biscuits with butter and jam were probably my favorite thing. The pimento cheese dip was great too, especially with that honey bee dust on the chips. My fried chicken had perfectly crispy skin and was really good with the bee dust, and the cheese grits were super creamy. The pork was tasty in most spots, but a little overcooked in others. Mac and cheese had a nice rich flavor. Overall, a fun Southern meal to wrap up the day!

So far the biscuits and fried chicken sandwich are the best!!! The spicy chicken sandwich was not as thick n juicy as the fried chicken and not that hot either. It is a mild heat for the southern people who don’t like heat.

J
Jermina Johnson

Small and cozy. Food was nice and hot. Fried prefect. Mac n cheese was not to our liking but ok. Potatoes was thick and a little crispy but I didn’t taste rosemary. The Brussels sprouts was good with sauce a little salty but good. And I loved the fried green tomatoes with the goat cheese grits. Service was pretty quick and friendly.

Brunch is a must on an all girl's birthday trip and this place made the cut! It's an absolutely adorable establishment. It was quite packed the day we went but I believe my cousin reserved a table for us because we were seated quickly. I ordered a Mimosa flight and almost all the Mimosas were delicious, the only one that was lackluster is the original mimosa. After tasting the other 3 it could NOT compete. I ordered an omlette created by my heart's desires lol, it had spinach, cheese, crispy bacon and a scoop of guacamole. YUM! The stone- ground goat cheese grits were some of the best I've had, I highly recommend it. Those parmesan crispy potatoes are perfection! I could not pass up the homemade biscuits with whipped butter and fresh blueberry preserves( no pics...sorry). I ❤️ my meal. No one left hungry or dissatisfied. I'd definitely return if I'm in Chattanooga again. Our server was very pleasant but distracted. I had to grab silverware from a near by empty table because our food was about to arrive and he didn't notice we had no utensils. That's a must have at any restaurant and as a server ...expected of you. That didn't diminish our experience but I didn't forget. Thanks!

The food was delicious. Our daughter loves hot food & the Sriracha chicken was so sweet & my hubby's peach pineapple aqua fresco was so watered-down. I know everything can't be perfect but these were exceptionally off so 1 star off.I am still a fan cuz everything was on point. 4 out of 5 will recommend.

I took my daughter to Tupelo Honey in downtown Chattanooga, TN for her 20th birthday brunch. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and the decor was great! My daughter had a mocktail called, The Bees Knees. It was a mixture of fruity and sour, yoo sour for me but my daughter loved it! We tried the biscuits with Blueberry Compote and butter and although the compote was good, the biscuits were a dense and heavy for my liking. My daughter had the Spicey Chicken & Waffles and I had the Classic Chicken & Waffles. The spicey chicken was coated in Sriracha sauce. The heat of the Sriracha and the sweet of the Maple syrup were a nice combination and the waffle was cooked to perfection! The classic chicken had a pretty thick coating of batter that made the chicken crunchy but the chicken was also, a little dry. Again, the waffle was perfect! Our server was pretty attentive. The total cost of our meal, pre-tip, was $55.00, which I felt was reasonable because we both left satisfied. I would recommend Tupelo Honey in Downtown Chattanooga.

Absolutely delighted with my experience at Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Bar! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, Southern hospitality. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual lunch or a relaxed brunch. The Mac & Cheese waffle was to die for —crispy on the outside, cheesy and comforting on the inside. It’s a must-try for anyone who loves a creative twist on classic comfort food. For drinks, I opted for the margarita flight. Each margarita was unique and refreshing, offering a perfect balance of flavors that paired wonderfully with my meal. This Gem has quickly become one of my favorite spots, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Southern cuisine with a modern twist!

Tupelo Honey was a great choice for a birthday lunch. We had the fried green tomatoes on grits! Wow. We also had the fried chicken sandwich and grilled chicken BLT. For dessert we chose the banana pudding. Service was great! Tea satisfied our thirst after hiking at Chickamauga all day. We’ll be back. I’d like to revisit the biscuits and jam they used to serve.

T

The restaurant was nice, as you can see in the brief video clip. We didn’t have to wait long for someone to seat us. Our food took a little longer because I got bone in chicken which takes a little longer to cook. The Mac & cheese was delicious & the chicken was pretty good, ( it had a hint of sweetness which I didn’t mind), but it could have used more seasoning. I don’t like that fact that the chicken entrees only came with one side & the other items came with two. The meatloaf came with two sides which one we chose was the Mac also, and the Caesar salad was the other. The meatloaf looked like a big meat ball & I was told tasted like it had bbq sauce & Worcestershire sauce on it. I guess the fancy did not fancy the taste of southern cooking as the name said. The glasses were cute & the overall ambiance was nice. I personally like flavor so it didn’t live up to the southern kitchen in the name for us. It’s a nice place if you want to try some place new, but if you’re really hungry go with what you know because my guy left hungry & he usually finishes his plate.

The restaurant wasn't as well maintained as I would expect at 10 am. The entrance rug was dirty, and the windows were smug dirty. The service was good, but the coffee wasn't fresh and luke warm, and it was 10:15 a.m., so the server put my next cup in the microwave. I couldn't drink it for another 10 minutes. The food was good except for one onion ring. If you are going to only give out 4, don't serve a burnt one. The restroom could have used some maintenance as well.

This was my first time at this restaurant; highly recommended by the party I went with. It was a few days after Christmas, so eating out sounded fitting. The host was nice, however, the bartender Claire was extremely rude. So rude, to the point, that I wanted to walk out- but the party I was with enjoys the food there. Our waitress Calista was awesome! She changed my view on the place. I would’ve given them a 5 star if it weren’t for Claire. Besides her being rude, everything/everyone else was awesome!

I ordered mash potatoes and took them to go. When I got home to reheat them there was a raw piece of shrimp in my potatoes. The food overall was not worth the $60 I spend for 2 people.

S

Our first time at Tupelo Honey, had high hopes for some really good southern fried chicken but we were disappointed by the bland, lack of flavor in the breading. The chicken itself was very good, large juicy pieces but the deep fried breading was flavorless. The service & wait staff were excellent, the tomato soup & chicken poblano soup were very good. Thus 2 stars. We will try eating here 1 more time to see if other items on the menu are better, tastier. If not we will cross this restaurant off our list any never be back.

C
Cinthia Rogers

I was very disappointed with my experience at Tupelo Honey. The food itself was fine, but the service and billing completely overshadowed the meal. Our waitress was rude and unprofessional from the start, and when we noticed we were overcharged and billed incorrectly compared to the lunch menu, her response was dismissive and disrespectful. We politely asked to speak with a manager to resolve the issue, but were told the manager was “upstairs” and never came to the table. There was no attempt to address the concern or correct the mistake, which was frustrating and unacceptable. Customer service and accountability are just as important as the food, and unfortunately this experience fell very short. I hope management addresses both staff professionalism and billing accuracy moving forward.

The greeter was not very welcoming and had a poor attitude. The server, however, provided good service and was attentive throughout the visit. The food was decent, I ordered the chicken and waffle. The ambience was nice. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning I’ve had better food and service.
