This place provides a great combination of meat and wine. Homemade Grumello and grilled beef steak with the authentic place will make your day. Trust me. Also I suggest you try a local specialitet pizzoccheri. Unfortunately, due to the high popularity of this place it was quite difficult to get a table here, so if you have a chance then book a table in advance.

From the warm welcome of the owners, eager to make every guest feel at home, everything was perfect. I ordered a venison steak accompanied by polenta and a berry sauce, a simply extraordinary dish, where every flavor harmonized perfectly. The venison was tender and flavorful, enhanced by the sauce, which added a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, complemented by the softness of the polenta. To conclude, I chose the fioretto cake, a typical Chiavenna specialty, which gave the evening an unforgettable finale. This place is ideal for those seeking traditional cuisine and authentic flavors in a unique and familiar atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We had lunch on a Sunday at noon. From the photos, the place looks much nicer, but I'm not the type to look at the place, I'm more interested in the food. We had a mixed cold cut platter, very commercial cured meats, nothing special, a plate of sciat, which was very good, a bit too few, though 7-8 meatballs. For our first course, we had a pizzoccheri, which was very dry and lacked cheese, and a Chiavennaschi gnocchetti, which were very good. Second course, braised beef and polenta taragna were good. Very fast service, but it was a shame it felt like we were at a village festival, where our table for two was surrounded by two birthday party tables and right next to the kitchen door. Lunch was chaotic. The bill was €65, without a receipt!
