Spaghetti alla Pomodoro was good and al dente. Papardelle with beef was tasteful. I just wish the Coppa Alla Banana came with more than just 2 pieces of banana. The service is attentive and fast. The environment is cozy and matches perfectly the idea of an italian restaurant. Prices for the main dishes are fair. Overall, great place for a special celebration like Valentine’s Day.
Food was amazing! As a college student, getting the chance to get out and eat such delicious food was a dream! Everything is made fresh by order and the ambiance was phenomenal. Fernando was a wonderful server! We ordered the Spaghetti, Gnocchi, Shrimp Diavolo, Bruschetta, and Cappuccino! I personally just added a bit of salt but this place was amazing and I would definitely recommend to anyone!
The food here is great with good ambience. And a very convenient location in downtown. We had the vodka sauce pasta and margherita pizza. The pasta was cooked to perfect al dente and it was so saucy and creamy. The pizza tasted very fresh with a good crunch on the crust. And the tiramisu is a must-have!! It’s very delicious with a deep coffee flavor and sweet creamy texture. Our waitress Tara is the sweetest and she made sure everything is perfect! We had a very good time! I highly recommend this place, especially if you’re celebrating!
Went in with no reservations on a Saturday evening and was sat right away! Very nice attentive staff and fresh ingredients and pasta. Pizza was good and fresh wish it was just a tad more crispy on the bottom, but great flavor.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Lunch at Quartino! Stopped in for lunch at Quartino on State Street and had an outstanding experience. The table bread alone was a great start — warm, flavorful, and even better with the fun assortment of cheeses, balsamic, and olive oil they provide. I ordered the arugula salad and the San Daniele arugula pizza, and both were excellent. The salad was incredibly refreshing, packed with farm-fresh ingredients and great texture from the nuts and citrus. The pizza was the real standout — absolutely loaded with toppings, with silky prosciutto, plenty of fresh arugula, and a perfectly airy, flavorful dough that really impressed me. Great atmosphere, great service, and top-quality food. I’ll definitely be back!
The sights, smells and tastes will welcome you to Italy inside the Windy City. The service was excellent and the freshly made food scrumptious. The option of ordering half plates made it easy to share family style! Three of us were pleasantly full after sharing the Sliced Gibsons Australian Strip Steak served with broccolini, grape tomatoes and onions; the Tuscan Sausage Risotti and Orecchetti. The freshly baked bread, of course, paired well with all dishes. Nice selection of wines and unique cocktails.
As a guy travelling alone, I was recommended this spot by someone so I thought I’d check it out right away. I was offered a seat in the bar area of the restaurant as a walk-in at 8pm on a Friday night which was lucky as there were plenty folk waiting for a table in the dining area at the same time. I sat at the bar where I met Shannon who was about 90% of what made this place so special. She was a brilliant bartender, with a personality that equalled her skills as a waitress. She took the time to talk me through lots of food and drink options and even gave me a taster of a digestivo which was really kind. I ate a veal meatball slider and the tortellini with pea and prosciutto. Both dishes were so tasty and brought out super fast from the kitchen. My company at the bar were great and I got chatting to Chicago locals on both sides which as a Brit abroad I appreciated a lot! All in all I had a great evening at this restaurant and would highly recommend.
Great high quality Italian that features small plates. Recommend the Kale Salad, Beet Salad or Assortment of Olives to start. For entrees recommend the Salmon or Beef Short Rib - was tender and flavorful. Truffle Risotto was amazing, Shrimp Risotto is good too. They have a solid Gluten Free menu.
Meatballs are heavenly. Just cause the espresso martini does not have 3 beans does not mean it’s not great. It’s fab if you wanted to know. Great balsamic on the table and that is how you judge restaurants. Misestrone wasn’t my favorite and ceasar like 8/10. GET THE MEATBALLS.
Came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. No wait for a table. We ordered the chicken soup ($6.50) the steak ($26) the linguine with red clam sauce ($20.25) tiramisu ($14) and a hot drip coffee ($4), they use la columbe beans and there are free refills. Complimentary sliced soft bread with cheese, balsamic and 1923 EVOO on the table. Everything was DELICIOUS. Food and coffee was served hot. Generous slice of tiramisu. Our server Samantha was awesome. Use the QR code on the table to pay for your bill. Parking garage validation at the restaurant for $14. We will definitely be back.
Great dinner here! Jonathan was a fantastic server, helped us to a great choice of wine. The ricotta appetizer was awesome, I will be getting that one again. Pappardelle entree was perfect. The sausage risotto was good, just wish it was cooked a bit longer. Nonetheless we had an amazing night and will for sure be returning.
It was my first time in Chicago and we came to this place after we had just drove out 10 hours, we came back on the last day of our trip because that first experience was so lovely. We came at a different time, and the service was absolutely stellar even in a packed restaurant. The wine selection is fantastic and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is both bustling and cozy, decorated nicely enough to feel upscaled yet also feeling as if you can come as you are. Sarah and Drew both took amazing care of us. Thank you so much, Quartino <3
Everything was good and priced fairly well. We shared the Bruschetta, Wild Arugula salad, Bolognese, Beef short rib, and salami between two people. This is a great place to order family style. Also, the atmosphere and seating are accommodating for very large groups.
The food was amazing. They have great mock tails and a good atmosphere. The menu is very tasty and offering a lot of yummy dishes. It’s great for a group. Terra is awesome. Highly recommend great vibes.
Incredible food, service, and vibe. Half orders of the spaghetti and alfredo were perfect. Ricotta appetizer was perfect. Dirty martini was chef’s kiss Request to be in Terra’s section!!! She was the BEST server we’ve ever had. So fun, attentive, and sweet
I love how the dishes come out in varying times it’s so European. This felt just like eating in Europe- expect they have ice! Jeff was a great waiter- my girlfriends and I sat on the balcony for almost 3 hours enjoying our courses and had a delicious dessert. The pizza took a while to come out but it was busy so we understood. One of the best dinner experiences I’ve had in the city I can’t wait to be back!
Second time back at this phenomenal restaurant. 10/10. Service, atmosphere, and food all delivered! They’re small plates so we always order 3-4 dishes to share. The braised pork was so tender and flavorful. The homemade pastas will never disappoint. The dessert we shared was a vanilla gelato with banana, chocolate pieces, fudge and whipped cream.
I don’t even know where to begin! My service from Nicole and Raul was an experience like no other! All the staff were friendly and smiling in an amazingly warm and family style atmosphere. Special thanks to Chef Juarez, who visited with a desert tasting that was out of this world! Perfect pricing and portions! Please please please, whatever you do, don’t get rid of the short ribs!! Every bite was delectable and amazing. Well done team!!
This was my first time visiting, and I completely fell in love with the place. I’ll definitely be back for more. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish we tried was a solid 10/10. We especially loved the roasted asparagus, easily the best we have tasted, ever!. Service was both quick and genuinely friendly, which made the experience even better. The drinks were strong but perfectly balanced—well-crafted and satisfying. Overall, this has easily become my favorite Italian restaurant. Highly recommended!
We had private party dining for 40 people for the rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding. Eating family style really creates a warmer environment and experience at the table. The food was delicious and it kept on coming. We finished our dining marathon with their delicious tiramisu and went home smiling and so thankful for such wonderful service. Our waiters were very attentive to our needs and what food we were wanting more of. And I noticed how attentive the manager was checking in with the hosts. We all felt like family by the end of the night, including the weight staff. 🙌🏼
Best bruschetta! They gave us bread to start, and you can also ask for smaller portions (not listed on the menu) if you don’t want the sharing size or have small appetite.
Great food at great prices!! You cannot go wrong when all the ingredients are top quality! They have fresh pasta and imported. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. You can get small portions, and you can share everything. We’ll definitely come back again!!
I loved the pasta at this place, it’s handmade, and you can really taste the difference. My favorite dish here is the fettuccine Alfredo. I also enjoyed the atmosphere and the service; both were great. I absolutely loved the tiramisu. If you go, you have to try it. I had been looking for a good tiramisu for a long time, and this one exceeded my expectations. Another thing I really liked is that you can customize the portion size, you can ask for the half portion of the dishes, which is a nice touch.
An exceptional and enjoyable gem of a restaurant. Inviting and cozy atmosphere with delicious Italian classics and attentive service. Our server, Brianna was friendly, helpful, and a consummate professional. Even the manager, Brock, was a delight and checked in on our dining experience to ensure it was perfect. I highly recommend Quartinos for an elegant and thoroughly delightful night out!
Our night began with a round of drinks, followed by a fantastic spread of appetizers and entrees. The porcini truffle risotto and penne alla vodka were absolute standouts, full of rich flavor and perfectly prepared. Service was attentive and friendly, and they even offer a gluten-free menu if you ask. A lively spot in River North that’s perfect for sharing plates and enjoying great Italian food!
I went here for my birthday party, and it was lovely! The seating is slightly cramped, but we were able to fit our party of 7. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful (Terra) and we also were able to get tons of free bread from another great waiter, Q. We decided to share everything as this place is known for their small plates. I think it would have been better to share between less people as the portions are pretty small, but it was nice to be able to try a little bit of everything! For appetizers, we got the clamari, veal meatballs (POLPETTE AL SUGO DI POMODORO), and the fonduta. I would highly recommend the fonduta- the cheese is delicious! As our main, we got a half-pepperoni half-margharita pizza, both of which were very crispy and delicious. The margharita half was definetly on the cheesy side though! We also got gnocci, fettuccine alfredo, and penne alla vodka, all of which were great. The portions are on the smaller side, but enough to fill you up and have room for dessert! The dessert was amazing- we got the tiramisu, hot chocolate cake with vanilla ice-cream (TORTA AL CIOCCOLATO), a gelato with bananas and biscotti (COPPA ALLA BANANA), and a gelato with strawberry sauce and a wafer (SPAGHETTI DI GELATO). They were all AMAZING and I would highly recommed the coppa alla banana!! Overall, this place was wonderful. From the staff to the free bread to the dessert, we all had a great time! They even put a candle for my birthday! Also, prices are great and the food was so delicious.
Amazing food, fair prices, loved the tortellini. The half portions are so cool to try everything. Lulu was a great server, very kind. Hidden gem!!!
Quartino’s never fails. This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Chicago when I’m looking for a good quality meal that doesn’t break the bank. The price to portion ratio is always perfect. If you’re looking to share food with family or friends I do recommend getting a pizza along with the pasta. You won’t be disappointed.
I had a great experience here! Our server, Angie, was super kind and gave us great service. We initially received the wrong pizza, but got the pizza we ordered for free. I loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious. This is a great place to eat for a good Italian meal.
The food here was flavorful and perfect for sharing. I liked the variety on the menu, from pasta and pizza to small plates that were fun to try with friends. The place had a lively atmosphere, and the service kept everything moving smoothly. It’s a great spot for groups who want good Italian food and wine in a relaxed setting.
Lulu was very kind, attentive and gave us an amazing service. She was very knowledgeable in the menu items and made sure we had an excellent dining experience.
Quartino! Wow! First time here and loved it. Tapas kind of dishes - sharable, and the staff is very genuine and helpful. Our server, Camila, checked in on us regularly and made the experience great. The food was delicious too! Definitely check it out. They'll also validate parking - ask them about it.
Best dining experience in Chicago! We absolutely loved all the food and the service! Morgan is a great server! We appreciated all his suggestions and attention. Great night! Can’t wait to come back!
Visiting from Texas and was craving some pasta. The food here is AMAZING. Fresh, flavorful, made with pure love! This place alone will cause me to come visit again verrrrrrry soon! Christopher also made this experience worthwhile! He was personable, funny, and attentive to all of his guests. Give this place a try! You will NOT be disappointed.
SO good that I went back! There are a lot of food choices when I am here once a week per month in Chicago. This Gem of a spot was so good that I made an immediate return two days later the sidewalk dining is fantastic if you're a people Watcher and love the vibe of Chicago but the food stands out on its own. To me a mark of any decent Italian restaurant is to start you off with some awesome crusty bread and to have a decent balsamic and a good evoo on the table which they did. On the first visit I did an appetizer of the Meatballs which were fantastic. I'm telling you this as an Italian who was brought up with homemade meals. I then did the orecchiette with sausage and finish that with the tiramisu which was out of this world. On the second visit I did the cheese and meat platter which I could have just left the restaurant after that and then pleased. I did a special that they had in the menu of an Italian sausage link that was circular on a bed of penne with white sauce. I literally had people from the sidewalk coming over and asking me what kind of plate it was. Service was outstanding both times and the drinks are phenomenal go to this place if you know what's good for you otherwise fuggettaboutit.
This is my first time. I came because of the google review. And I customized pretty much all items. They might not like it but we are pure vegetarians. But I am happy to say that everything is amazing. It’s fantastic evening. I would suggest that the should keep red chilli spicy sauce or at least good spicy arrabiata sauce.
I love the atmosphere very great, food was good! Our waitress was amazing!! They kept everything flowing and clean. The only thing that threw mw off was the bathroom.
Great experience in this Italian restaurant. I would come back a million times. Recommend strongly the porcini risotto and the tagliata. The meat balls were also great. Outstanding:
We had a group of 10 having dinner after a work conference. We had the best waiter Trevor. He was attentive, made suggestions, and regularly checked in us throughout the meal. Teh food was fresh and amazing! I enjoyed the gnocchi but everything that was ordered looked delicious. We ordered desserts to go and though there was a bit of a wait (okay maybe a long wait) Trevor kept us entertained and updated. This restaurant has a great atmosphere and staff.
Georgia was amazing!! She was not the waitress we deserved but the one we needed! 10000/10 The food: amazing (they also let you customize the pizzas and the free bread was 10/10) The service: I can honestly say I’ve never met a better human- Georgia, you are an angel amongst humans The atmosphere: spectacular, I’ve never felt so at home. As someone who has volume modulation issues, this place was perfect.
Great Italian restaurant serving up “tapas” like Italian dishes. The pasta is delicious, perfectly chewy in sauces that are not overpowering. Service is good even during very busy hours and this place seems to always be busy in the evenings regardless of the day of week. There is seating inside (both in the main dining area and in the bar area (which is first come, first served)) as well as a small outdoor patio right in front of the place. It can get pretty loud and sometimes hard to have a conversation. Reservations are available but they do require a credit card and will charge you a $10 no show fee. I particularly liked the salad and pasta dishes.
This place is ALWAYS busy, a popular corner in River North. Good variety of Italian options, including fresh pasta, imported pasta, vegetable dishes, soups and salads. If you’re not sure what to get, ask for the half portions at half the menu price so you can get a sample of more dishes. I got the fettuccine Alfredo, Tuscan kale salad, gnocchi, and banana dessert. Fettuccine Alfredo noodles were thick and the sauce was a little too rich. Overall the food was okay, but the atmosphere was chaotic with too many people.
I recently visited this Italian spot and was pleasantly surprised by how warm and lively the evening turned out. The pasta dishes were well-balanced, with fresh flavors and good texture, though I wished for a little more seasoning in one of the sauces. The staff were friendly and efficient, explaining menu items clearly and checking back without being intrusive. The decor is cheery and rustic-chic, with cozy communal tables that add to the vibrant buzz. The only downside was that noise levels spiked during peak hours, making conversation a bit challenging at times.
I join some colleagues here for dinner as they wanted Italian. Pizza was good and I enjoyed the white bean dip. The chicken parm was just ok. Deserts were good and overall service was average, but had to wait for entrees as nothing came out at the same time. Restaurant was very busy for a Monday, seemed like a popular location. I have had better Italian in Chicago. Atmosphere was decent, but tables were very close, little room to walk between, main dinning room loud, has an upstairs, which was nice.
Quartino Ristorante is in a great location and stays open until 12:30 AM, which is rare for many restaurants in the area—making it a convenient choice. It’s a nice spot for a family dinner. We had planned to order the crispy calamari, but it was unfortunately sold out for the night. Instead, we went with the Chicken Parmigiana and a Margherita pizza with added chicken. The food had an authentic Italian flavor and tasted great. 👍🏼
Our experience may be different than yours. We walked in at 950 and we were immediately sat and our waitress took our drink orders. Our waitress told us the food comes out as it is ready and to eat family style. Everyone shares whatever is brought out. Our drink order arrived with a new waitress, that made sure we knew about food coming out as it’s ready. I’d been looking forward to a pizza so I began to order it and I was told they are out of pizza! 😢 I thought it was a joke at first. I regrouped and ordered the alfredo my wife ordered the bolognese. Her bolognese came out in a reasonable time. I had a few bites of her food while I waited for mine. She was half way done w her food & our waitress asked if everything was ok. We looked and gave an uncertain yes. Bc, my wife had her food an didn’t, but they were clear that food comes out as it ready and to share. After my wife had eaten all her food and waitress came back and asked if we wanted desert, At this point we let her know, I’d never received my meal. She brought it out and had the meal removed from our bill. So even with this, I must say, all the food I ate there was delicious. I’d go back and give them a 2nd chance based on how good the food was.
This place feels so good. You can sit inside or outside that has the same atmosphere. You can enjoy this place after work for happy hour and a date night. You can walk to your next destination easily. The food hit the spot. The staff were kind and willing to give suggestions for the city. This place truly feels like Chicago. I want to visit again so I can try more items on the menu.
Great place, truly italian, i wish the menu had more pasta options, but generally speaking very good! Great taste
If you’re looking for a standard Italian cuisine dining experience, Quartino will deliver with no surprises. The menu is what you would expect from an Italian restaurant. As for the atmosphere, this place can get busy - especially in the evening. If you’re not dining alone, you should secure a reservation. If you’re dining alone, the bar area is your best bet and typically has seating available. For anyone who is sensitive to sound, or worried about heating their conversation, this is not the place for you when it’s busy because it can get loud. Overall, a solid pick of a restaurant where you can’t go wrong.
Quartino Ristorante was a nice spot with a comfortable atmosphere. You can tell the food is fresh and made well. The chicken parmigiana tasted fine, but it doesn’t come with pasta and the portion felt a little small for the price. The sauce is a very simple San Marzano tomato style, not the slow-cooked kind with layers of garlic, onions, and herbs. The pizza was the best thing we had. It isn’t Neapolitan, since Neapolitan crust is more airy and soft with a light crunch. This one is closer to a New York style pizza with a crisp bottom and a crunchy crust, and it was really good. We also ordered the fettuccine Alfredo. It was simple but good. Our server mentioned that they bring dishes out as soon as they’re hot, so the table can share everything, which was helpful to know. Overall the food is fresh and enjoyable. It’s not the type of place where anything completely blows you away, but you also won’t leave disappointed. A solid choice for a casual dinner.
