Today I came to order to go and was kindly greeted the waitress. She asked if I would like a table to wait at while I ordered my order to go. Another waitress came and took my order which was not easy as I was ordering for my wife who was sending her order by text. She looked at my phone, skilled and quickly took my order. Great food and reasonable prices. We have ate there in the past and as always, they tended to my family with a snails and the food was delicious. I’m pocket when it come to Mexican.

Man the food here is really good. It's pretty pricy but I've never been disappointed. My wife I usually split the faitas, and it has never let us done. I do think the free sides (beans and rice) are pretty low quality, but the free chips and salsa makes up for it. Really nice staff too, very quick to accommodate anything you need. It won't be for everyone, but give it a try.

Ordered the Aquachiles and steak tacos. OMG, I can't wait till they open again from their vacation because I am going back the same day. I am craving the aqua chiles so bad!! even though they were really spicy, but sooooo good. the shrimp was so clean and fresh. the staff was so friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to bring all my seafood lovers here with me!! the steak was perfectly seasoned and the tortillas were perfect.

I just had 1 of the best sizzling steak fajita plates here at La Costa in Chico, CA. The veggies were fresh and well-seasoned green-red bell peppers, sweet white onions, and some of the most tasty, tender cuts of beef I have tasted. Served with flour tortilla and a side plate of rice, refried beans, and guacamole to fill your tortilla with! and when I mean sizzling, the waitress brought the steel plate 1right from the kitchen to my table and it was sizzling louder than a bowl of rice Krispies after pouring milking on it! But be careful the metal plates are very hot when they serve you so do not burn your fingers by trying to just grab the plate, use the oven mitt cover they have on the handle! This is a great place to bring friends and family for great Mexican grilled food! The lady who waited on me was very nice and attentive and `I tipped her well for her kind service!

The Molcajete Fresco is it! So bomb and delicious and each bite is a celebration of Mexican flavors. The dish pays homage to tradition while offering a modern twist, making it a must-try for anyone craving an authentic taste of Mexico. The location is convenient and my server was great too. I will be back!

Mariscos La Costa was amazing! I had the Mojarra Frita and my girlfriend the Chicken Burrito. We both really enjoyed our delicious food and the portions were large. Also, the service was phenomenal. Shout out to our waitress Victoria!! She was so friendly and responsive to us the entire time. We made sure to leave a big tip! I highly recommend eating here!

I've been here several time with my husband for lunch and dinner. This place never disappoints! Food is always the very best, hot, and plenty of it. We've had the Shrimp Burritos, Ceviche, Fish Tacos, Fajitas, rice, beans and they have all been sooooo good!

How have I not been here yet! Stopped in for lunch today and glad I did. I had a combo plate with a chili relleno and asada enchilada. The flavor was phenomenal. So much food I had leftovers for dinner. Can't wait to go back and try some seafood.

The Best Mexican Food I've had outside of LA. The Pork Chili Verde was perfect, the portions are huge, great staff, clean and considering we were a party of 13 who all ordered something different, the food came out amazingly fast. Can't wait to go back!!

Was in town on business and got a recommendation from a local for this place. Delicious chicken burrito and garlic shrimp, server was pleasant and we were surprised the place wasn't busy on an early afternoon weekday. Would visit again next time!

It is always a nice experience coming here. I only ordered 3 things such as Rice, and a side of beans and 1 beer. The rice and beans were for togo and I was greated with salsa and chips. My salsa was replaced with more salsa during my wait. It was fast and just amazing service for such a small order on the go.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here eating wet burritos and leaving fat and happy! We were sat very quickly, served promptly felt like we could take our time enjoying the delicious meal in front of us. Manuel and Judy took really good care of us and were very friendly and welcoming ! Thank you chefs for the tasty food !

My sister and I tried this restaurant today for the first time. We loved the service the waitress was beyond amazing and attentive. The food portions were absolutely worth the price. I ordered a carne asada burrito and my sister had a plate of chile relleno and enchilada. It was more food than we thought we could both finish but it was absolutely worth it. The carne asada in my burrito was well seasoned and I loved that it came with sour cream, and guacamole. Highly recommend going there.

Mariscos la Costa has some great food and even better service. Well seasoned and the portion sizes are well priced for the amount of food you get. Kimberly is always amazing and so upbeat. Today's service was no different. She made sure our drinks were always topped off and checked in regularly to make sure we didn't need anything. Overall great experience!

We wanted to try a place we had never been before for dinner tonight, and even though we’ve lived her for several years, we’ve only ever driven by this place. So, we stopped in to give it a try, and we were not disappointed. Victoria served us and was great! We let her know it was our first time there and she brought out several sauces (enchilada and chile relleno) to try to make sure we liked them. Both were good but the enchilada sauce was AMAZING. Very friendly service, great food, and SIZABLE portions at a decent price (hard to find in Chico) will have us coming back again! We had enchiladas, quesadillas, and flautas, and it was all great!

Absolutely loved everything. Victoria was very attentive and kind. She has a great energy about her and is very friendly. You can tell they put a lot of care into everything they do. Even the bathrooms are clean. The food was really really good. I had the tostada salad with chicken, loved the flavor of the chicken, whatever it is marinated in, is delicious, and they add cucumbers to it which was really a nice touch. We also had the green enchilada and chicken taco with rice and beans. So so so good. Loved the flavor of the beans. The chips came out warm and you can tell the salsa is fresh. The iced tea was good, they also have lunch specials. Will definitely be back. Our new fav place. It's close to the park so good to come after a walk etc.

This place is amazing, don't let anyone tell you different. Living in California we eat alot of Mexican food which makes me not picky but rather critical of the flavors, salsa, and fresh taste in veggies. This place hits all the marks. Amazing fresh salsa, the red sauce on the wet burrito was exceptional. My wife's green spauce on her enchiladas were also bomb. Burrito was full on small child sized. And I can't forget the chips, made fresh daily and have a flavor that is addictive. Much like Casa Sanchez before they fell off. We went up for a weekend at Almanor, stopped on the way up and had to hit it on the way back. I hear you have to try the Lobster here, it's flown in fresh! I will be back.

Had some really good ceviche and a bean burrito. The beans were so very delicious. I'm craving them 2 days later. My husband got the fried full red snapper and really enjoyed it. They served potatoes with it, which he wasn't crazy about, but we both enjoyed the food. Don't go if you're on s hurry.... they are a little short staffed so it wasn't a long wait, but would've been nervous if we were on a time crunch

My friend talked me into ordering a tilapia dish knowing I don't like this fish. This restaurant made me want more of the this cooked in garlic butter and spices. Now the refried beans, I cannot say enough and I'm not a bean person, more pleasssee! The rice looked interesting with the frozen vegetables but it justed tasted good. Next time I'm in Chico, back to this place!

They are short staffed, so it can take some time. If it's a busy night. But the food is always good. They have big margaritas. Different favorite as well. I like most of their burritos. The staff that is there is very friendly and nice! They sit you and pick up check at the table.

I forget what it's called but it's $35 seafood mojacte? I don't know but it's very good...however not giving it 5 stars due to the lack of octopus...only 2 tentacles...should of been more for the price, very disappointed in that part!

I loved the catfish fillet I tried, although it was a bit on the greasy side. The chips and salsa were great, but the rice had frozen veggies in it, and that's just not acceptable to me. The refried beans weren't bad, but I've had better. Will go back to try other things for sure. My two friends enjoyed their meals.

Was in town visiting family and we all went here. I am from SoCal, and I think if you from anywhere in California and nearby, you know good Mexican food, or at least you should. This is pretty good Mexican food, and I absolutely loved the Michelada they serve. The staff was pretty friendly. I hope to stop by here again the next time I am in town.

This was my first time to this restaurant and my last time. More because I live in Sacramento not in Chico. There were four of us and we all ordered shrimp cocktail. My complaint is it did not have any taste had very few onions no avocado no salary the basic ingredients to go in the shrimp cocktail. And the worst it didn't have very many shrimp, for the price. I guess I'm comparing it with the Islitas Restaurant in Sacramento there's no comparisons. But like I always stayed this is my opinion only. If you're ever in Chico give it a try.

So it is supposed to be the place for Mexican seafood in town. Didn't order any, but the menu has a lot of choices. Complimentary salsa with chips is very spicy. Chile rellenos was small and swimming in refried bean porridge. Good rice. Young lady sat us at a table that was still wet. We moved. Then the owner comes out and is our server. Not going to tip the owner.

Mariscos La Costa Mexicana Seafood is bigger than most. Place was all but deserted at around 1:15 PM, and two nice ladies were attending the front. Food: 2 Tostadas Ceviche from the lunch menu. Tostadas were not covered, only a mound in the center. Fish only. Initially the person who order was not impressed. A few comments about quality, but eventually finished both leaving both crispy tortillas untouched, which I personally wondered why they were ordered in the first place. 3 Stars. Ceviche Mixto, from the regular menu, $12.99. One tostada, more variety of seafood including octopus. Overly expensive for what arrived and not necessarily great. 3 Stars. On the positive side Tortillas were brought and salsa. Salsa perhaps the best I’ve come across so far. Server brought an additional one, which in my book I did appreciate it. Like the old days standard. 4+ Stars. Service was very nice. 4+ Stars! Water tasted fine. Prices throughout the menu steep, and hard to tell without ordering how good, let’s say, would the $26+ seafood soup taste. Total: $26+ plus fair gratuity. 3.5 Stars. The return of the dummy: 4-29 I decided to try this eatery again, both dishes ordered were fish Tilapia. One grilled, one with garlic? Each $17.99, which considering one was rejected and trashed, it was a horrendous deal. When a fish fillet taste gummy, is either the quality of said fish, or who knows what. This place lacks the skills to pay the bills, while service might be better, the most important aspect is the food preparation, and sadly for a dish to be tossed is a bad investment. Even their salsa seemed too watery. To stop here again would be detrimental to my wallet. Something keeps telling me the food they cook for themselves is probably a lot better. This second visit sealed the deal. 2 Stars.

This was my second time eating here. The first time I had grilled fish tacos and they were fantastic. This time I had the super fajitas and it was good but I was disappointed. The super fajitas are shrimp chicken and steak, I had about four tiny shrimp that were severely over cooked in the entire dish and I'm not hating that there were potatoes in the fajita mix, but they were still crunchy raw. My daughter had the nacho fries and they were so very yummilicious.

The food was decent. And the service was almost nonexistent. I had the carnitas plate with rice and beans. The rice and beans were good but the carnitas were a little on the salty side and dry. I would have given this place an extra 2 stars if our waitress was actually giving us service and not busy sitting at a table flirting with her boyfriend. At one point she had us waiting for 20 minutes before she took our order because she was 3 tables away sitting down entertaining her her boyfriend. After she took our order she never returned and we sat there for about 30 minutes before someone else finally came over to bring us the bill. This place really needs to pay attention to the amount of service they're providing.

I had placed an order for a shrimp and pulpo cocktail. I expected their cocktail to be full of flavors since this is a Mexican Seafood restaurant however they left me very disappointed. I paid $22 for their cocktail. It was watered down and had no flavor. My order still had some ice in it which I’m assuming was from sitting in the fridge. The pulpo was not cut all the way and was left in big chunks. The young lady that charged me was very nice. She had great customer service.

Not very good. The service was attentive and prompt. The two young ladies that served us were fine but the food is a different story. Rice was bland. Guac just plain ol not good. The Enchiladas and beans tasted like something out of a t.v dinner. Not impressed at all by their food to be honest. Prices a little higher than other mex restaurants that serve the same thing but better. My gf however loved the Sope that she ordered. Maybe it was just what i ordered. Inside is nice and clean so no issues there. Absolutely no repeat for me. Very disappointing.

I’v eaten here three times , and it’s my last yes Its hard to find help these days , but if you are open and serving food have it consistent! And at these prices make it good . Or close your doors ! My chicken was completely burnt and the extr salsa I paid for wasn’t there . Burritos should be good when you’re paying 17.00 with tip , I would take my rip back if I could . Not to mention my food

M

Way too overpriced not even authentic Mexican food to be honest even for Chico standards. No one helps you, it’s dead inside and empty but overall the food is just below average. The looks really fool you.

First of all, I would like to say I have never left a bad review on a restaurant in my life mind you I have been in the industry for over 25 years managing bars and restaurants. I didn’t get her name but the manager with shoulder length curly hair was the rudest person I’ve ever met in my life. I ordered a side of rice and beans, and it said it came with two complementary bags of chips one for each then I said I wanted to buy a large bag of chips when my order came out there was one small bag of chips in the bag. They then proceeded to tell me that was the large bag that I ordered which they charged me $6.25 for then I said well where is my two complementary Sides of chips the “Manager” went in the bag and took out one of my salsas because her waitress gave me two instead of one took that back then proceeded to argue with me and give the worst customer service I have ever endured verbally and professionally, then proceeded to go in the back and get me one tiny bag of chips and said my order only came with one then I get home and the beans are spilled all out in the bag an absolute mess. I wish there was a ZERO star button!! Mind you myself and my family have gave them a lot of business we always buy large trays of dishes, rice, and beans, etc. for our family parties/gatherings so great job lady you just lost money for your business (over a small bag of chips and a 3 ounce side of salsa) not a very smart business move, especially when you only have about 2 to 5 tables sat at majority times of the day, including lunch and dinner rushes!!

To be honest I don’t like to bash small businesses. I really dont. Please understand I am not trying to attack you guys at all, but that was one of the worst burritos I’ve had in my life. Absolutely no flavor. I’m paying almost 15 bucks for a burrito it should be delicious. I’ve lived by the restaurant for years and I’ve always wanted to try you guys out. Something in the back of my head always said Maybe next time. I’m extremely disappointed in the burrito.

This place is criminally overpriced for below mediocre food. Each plate is roughly $20 (even burritos). Our order included a shrimp burrito, seafood soup, and fajitas. It took quite a while for the food to come, but that was due to lack of staff. The staff that was working were friendly enough. Once the food arrived, they forgot to put salsa on top of my wet burrito and tortillas that went alongside the soup. A bowl of salsa was brought out quickly to remedy the mistake. However, the $20 burrito was a giant grilled tortilla filled with white rice, what appeared to be frozen vegetables, and a handful of shrimp smothered in mayonnaise. The beans that came with the fajitas also contained plastic wrap in them. For all three dishes, the total after tax was almost $69. It was disappointing and frustrating to pay so much for Mexican food when there are tons of other places in town with higher quality food at much more affordable prices. I will be avoiding this place as much as possible in the future.

Way too overpriced not even authentic Mexican food to be honest even for Chico standards. No one helps you, it’s dead inside and empty but overall the food is just below average. The looks really fool you.
