Boyfriend & I decided to go out dinner last minute & picked this place out without having previously been here. We were seated right away. The decor & energy is nice. We totally forgot it was taco Tuesday so we were happy about the tacos & some of our drinks being half off/ discounted. Coincidentally it was also happy hour (Monday- Friday 3-7pm) so we were brought free chips and salsa which was good. We shared 2 papa tacos, 2 carne asada tacos, 2 Baja tacos (1 shrimp/ 1 fish) & 1 pollo asado taco which were all very good. I got a house margarita & paleta shot, boyfriend got a modelo, paleta shot & a free Pacifico (there was a mix up at another table) which was nice. The service was very friendly & welcoming. Would go again especially on a taco Tuesday.
I went for the first time yesterday with a friend after work, really needed a mojito. The bar tender, I forgot her name long black hair was really sweet and made me a delicious mojito! The food came out pretty fast, I had the Sopes and my friend had the Ceviche, both were really good. Alberto the restaurant manager came over and was really kind to us. He gave us a bit of background info about the place and it was lovely having him welcome us to Las Tres Catrinas. We will go back soon :)
Took a friend from out of town here because it seemed like a good little spot to get some Mexican in a nice restaurant setting. This place delivered! We walked in and were greeted by each employee that walked past us when we were getting taken to our table. Our server, who’s name escapes me unfortunately was amazing! She was very sweet and friendly and made sure to check on us constantly instead of dropping off food and disappearing like some places. Not only was the service great but the food and drinks were as well! We all ordered one of their speciality drinks, an entree, and appetizer and of course all tried each other’s and everything was delicious! The atmosphere was great too. It’s a beautiful restaurant. Overall great time!
This place couldn't have been better. It was so chill here. Great atmosphere. Really awesome, attentive, staff. They really know what their doing. And the food was so damn good. Qe couldn't even decide on dessert we had to have our server just choose for us.. I can't even begin to do the food justice with these pictures but I'm gunna try. I got the cilantro lime salmon and the dragon.
Drinks are really good! Margarita was my favorite. Food was ok, they need special salsas for seafood; Some people cannot have oily salsa. The food presentation is a plus! They also have a nice way to celebrate birthdays… perfect place for happy hour after work!
Customer service here is great and we have been twice in the past 2 months to celebrate birthdays. The second time some people in our party had dietary restrictions and the staff paid close attention and made sure everyone was taken care of.
I like the idea is refreshing, not your tipical Mexican restaurant the appetizers are enough for 3 people..nice portions, My son loved his hamburger, I had the enchiladas a bit salty for my taste but never the less tasty. Im sure we will be back to try couple of more dishes.
Tried this place out because I had previously been in the area and had smelled the delicious food coming from the restaurant. The food is really tasty. Portions are small, but they filled me up. Food does not come with rice or beans, and no chips and salsa when you first sit. Seemed like a good place to come with friends for brunch. I tried the vegan empanadas, which were really good. My grandma got the fish tacos and really liked them. The sauce for the fish tacos was really good. The horchata had a bit too much cinnamon, but was still good.
Two weeks ago, my wife and I got out for a date night and decided to come here. Thank Goodness we did. From the minute we walked in, we were treated like family. The hostess seated us at our reserved table. The ambiance and decor are top notch. There was a DJ playing good music - loud enough to catch a vibe and low enough to still have a conversation at dinner. Our waitress Cindy was absolutely amazing. She made great recommendations and always ensured we were checked on. For appetizers, my wife ordered the rolled tacos and I had the Chicharrónes with guacamole. I've never had Chicharrónes with guacamole - enjoy both separately - but they paired very nicely together. The Owner, Renee, stopped by the table to check in on us. He is very polite and asked how we were doing. We told him that we were out on a date night and this was our first time there. He welcomed us and offered to buy us a dessert. Very unexpected but it goes to show you how this place operates - like FAMILY. To drink, my wife had the Mama Coco and I had the House Vodka Mule. Both of us enjoyed our drinks - great flavor and you could taste the alcohol. After we finished our apps, we ordered our dinner. I ordered the Fajitas de la Casa (Shrimp, Steak and Chicken) and my wife ordered the Shrimp Enchiladas. My food arrived first - Renee came back to tell us how they prefer to bring the food out once it's ready so it's not sitting out getting cold. The fajitas came out sizzling on the skillet, so I backed away so it wouldn't splatter on me. The manager came by to ask if everything was ok so I explained why I backed away - not a big deal at all. He asked how we were doing on our drinks and we said well and offered to bring us another round on the house - No objections - FAMILY! A few minutes later my wife's food came out. Both of our entrees were delicious. We couldn't finish our entrees, so we got to-go boxes. Next came the dessert. We decided on the Churro Donas. Simply Amazing. Three stacked churro donuts with a scoop of vanilla ice cream between each donut with fresh fruit and mint on the side. The dessert topped off an amazing dinner!!! If I could rank the hospitality, drinks, dinner, dessert, and apps - they would all equally be number 1. You should definitely try out this restaurant. You will NOT be disappointed!!!
Delicious food and drinks. The service was fast and friendly. The staff worked amazing as a team to accommodate our large party. This was a Friday night so plenty of seating. Bathrooms and restaurant clean. ** There is no dress code for the restaurant. There is another venue section which is under construction but yes that has a dress code.** it was confusing for us because there are 2 different entrances. And one has a sign stating a dress code. Figured I'd write about it.
Amazing atmosphere , excellent customer service, delicious food! Greeted by friendly hostess and our server “Norma” was so nice and attentive and personable.. very professional and friendly
A fabulous addition to the Foodie Mecca that is Chula Vista, CA. The service was superb; the options available for authentic Mexican Food were delectable. The ambiance/decor totally immerses you in Mexican Folklore. The Manager, Alberto, was friendly and attentive to our group. We were a group of seven women celebrating birthdays; our busboy Alex surprised us by singing Las Mañanitas with a beautiful/gifted voice! We will be back. Make sure you try these appetizers: Elote Ribs and Guacamole! For dessert,, I recommend The Corn Flan and the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake... Scrumptious!
This is a visually exciting restaurant for partying and surprising friends!! It's also relatively affordable so you can afford to go again and again. The food is creative and tasty. There are a few very professional wait staff that do a great job and embrace Mexican hospitality, and make this Dia de Los Muertos themed restaurant a very memorable outing. Other times it can be a mediocre service experience and you feel bad for the owners. One time, I went dressed like Frida Kahlo and an owner thanked me for honoring their theme and wanted to take my photo. It was my birthday, so I was thrilled to receive their attention and to be a VIP for them. It's a cool spot. Middle school kids and up will like it too. Younger kids you need to explain it before you arrive so they aren't spooked. Then escort them to discover the three lifesize Katrinas!
Excellent place for an early meeting or evening night out, the food is great, it has an authentic Mexican seasoning you won't find anywhere near. It offers live music on the evenings and the staff is very attentive. I recommend the " sopes divorciados" 👌
Las Tres Catrinas is our new fave Mexican restaurant! The food is very tasty/high quality/perfectly spiced, the service by all the hostess/waitress is friendly and upbeat & the decor is so elegant. You will see touches of sugar skull artwork throughout, which is so beautiful. If you love churros, save yourself some room to indulge! You won't be disappointed...Can't wait to go back!
1st time. The BEST albondigas EVER! Not like a caldo or broth, but thicker ❤️. We came for the drinks, big surprise, not your typical Mexican food.
Amazing food. The Ahi tuna tostadas and Achiote 🐙 pulpo/octopus very good! Mixology drinks, wow!! Ask for Omar the bartender. Alejandro onecof the managers, soooo nice!!!

I love the vibe of this place. It's beautiful decorated for the theme, the staff are friendly and we got our food pretty fast. I came on a Sunday at noon and got seated right away, tvs throughout the restaurant playing music videos. I enjoyed my pulpo plate, it was a bit overcooked but still tasted good.
It was the second time we've visited this establishment during lunch time. The atmosphere is going for that vibrant El Chingón vibe--with matching downtown prices as well. Happy hour is the time to go! The server took a little while to get to us but there was a very large party in the main dining area plus several other tables so we waited patiently in the comfy booth. The server was also making our cocktails (Ginger Pineapple Margaritas, yum!) I tried the Mexican candy cocktail later and it was too sweet for me--not their fault. So far we have tried the sopes, poblano chicken and guacamole (fresh and vibrant). The pictures feat. the ahi tuna tostada plate (perfect once you add green salsa), surf'n'turf (hot and satisfying), and salmon with lime rice and veggies (eh). The rice was not perfect and there could have been way more seasoning on all dishes overall so just make sure you request their house salsas because they will not bring them out automatically! The server told me they will be hosting fun dance party events in a back room very soon so look out for that!
The food was good but the service was meh. Came during lunch hours and there were only two other parties there. We got seated right away but the waiter took quite a bit to take our order. We waited a solid ten minutes before he finished his conversation and came to ask us for our order. It was so slow it really should have elevated the service and not the other way around. This kept happening throughout so idk it just slowed down what could have been a quick lunch to a very slow process. Aside from that the kitchen person who brought our food out was awesome so I guess it depends on who you get. Also it’s a bit pricey so expectations were a bit higher than your average place. I got the chicken poblano which was very good but the veggies were cold. My brother got the fajitas and he liked them. Overall I would come back but I would just have to brace myself to be there for a while
We got rained out and decided to just go to the movies in the Chula Vista Center. When we came out it was late and this restaurant was still opened so we went in. There are several sections to the restaurant. There was a large party to the right in a section that is behind the beautiful mural. There was another section in the back that sounded like a club hehehe. And the main area has a bar and several tables and booths. We were a party of 4 and we were seated quickly. Our friends ordered drinks, pretty color cocktails hehe. Since it was late 3 of us got something light. Fish Tacos, Shrimp Tacos and Fish Cerviche. 1 person went with the Fajita Platter, so much food but he finished it! Lol Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks. Loved the decor! The artist does amazing work!
to state the obvious, the interior design is gorgeous and customer service is great. there was a waiter constantly checking on us, but in a manner that wasn't too overbearing. i'd have to say that the food is a bit mediocre for the price, and you'd think such a nice place would have air conditioning. the menu is experimental to say the least, but i'm glad the more traditional things weren't overshadowed in terms of quality by those other menu items. the empanadas were a bit small as well. don't knock it til you try it though :-)

Trendy new Mexican flare resturant has been open about 4 months and is for a younger crowd, but no kids please. Very provocative videos playing on large screens. I dont see any reason to have media playing at all, as it spoils a dining experience, in this nicely theme decorated space. My chicken poblano dish needs some work; sauce good, chicken a little dry, roasted vegetables were too oily. Don't order the $8 chips which were tough, salty and some burnt. *salsa however had a wonderful smokey flavor- spicey! Service was great!! Desserts look amazing. House Margarita not so hot. Atmosphere was loud (people really enjoying themselves 7 pm tues night), but there is a somewhat quieter room too. Menu appears limited but a very good variety. My husband found menu to be heavy on creamy dishes, which he can not eat.
First time going recommend by Uber driver. Very slow service only a few seats filled. Brought food out separately by the time I received mine others were almost finished with their entree. Server was very nice but didn't follow up and when we asked for something it took a very long time or in one case didn't show up at all. Both doors open to patio couple of guys who looked to be bartenders friends (assuming) smoke and the smoke came in the restaurant. I closed both doors as no employees seemed to care. Sitting there with family and didn't want to smell that. Food was okay. Fajitas had tons of veggies but seemed light on meat. No kids menu. I will pass on this one next time. For the price I expect more.
Do not waste your money on the Christmas pop-up. Atmosphere was cute but everything else was extremely disappointing. The drinks were sooooo watery. I like sweet cocktails but there was an undetectable amount of alcohol. Food menu was very limited. At a Mexican restaurant the only appetizer available was artichoke dip? Lol
If you want to go somewhere with a live band and a dance floor this is the place for you! I met up with a friend and wanted to catch up with her and though I was in the separate dining area from the music, we had to scream at each other in order to hear anything. The drinks were fantastic, the food was not anything special and they only appetizers.
The low stars was because of the Halloween spookeasy event run by them . This was the first time ever attending LTC . Went yesterday night for the 75MNS Event. and we reserved the 7:30PM schedule . They brought us in at 7:40PM outside sign said we had 25mns to order food and then that’s it .That was understandable , Since they brought us I0mns late we had only 15mns to order food according to the waitress . I said isn’t it 25!? She said no 15! I didn’t argue it. We quickly ordered . They didn’t even have Halloween music going on the whole 75mns there . I only was able to see Scream for the first walk around , then Michael and IT . We still had a lot of alcohol in our cups after our second round and the waitress told us we had to leave quick because the second round of reservations were coming and it was 8:49PM (69MNS )!! and couldn’t even take them to the Catrina’s side . $43 we paid for entrance that came with a small cup of vodka with sprite. Food menu was a small portion of choices like ( 5-6 things all appetizers spent additionally $78 on our check . I wouldn’t do it again 👎🏻👎🏻 Only Worth it if you’re already coming in with Alcohol in your system , and a full belly !
The food was delicious and so were the drinks! Service was ok. The busboy had to call the waitress for us because we wanted to order something else, and she had already stopped paying attention to us since our dinner had ready been served. She also refused to speak English to our table. We aren't the best Spanish speakers, so because she only spoke Spanish to us, the rest of the party felt like they had to speak back in Spanish. I have nothing against Spanish, but when your customers feel more comfortable speaking English, you should accommodate them, not us to accommodate you. They also charge a fee of about 3 bucks for using a debit/credit card. Just an FYI.
The restaurant itself was very nice, I liked the motif. The service sucked. The menu is very small. Both my carne asada & my wife's fish tacos were TASTELESS & dry. The salsa was bland with no heat. The waitress stood over me while I filled out the ticket. So rude! For this experience, the tip reflected that. Other than that, we had a good time. No reason to return...

They get one star for presentation. The food is meh, portions SMALL, even though I asked ahead of time about the portions. The chicharron burrito was so-so, the salsa flavoring was off, and a few of the chicharrones that I bit into tasted old/not right, the best thing about my meal was the pineapple ginger margarita which was mostly ice for $12. And they charge me for an extra margarita that I did not order. And they graciously grant themselves a 20% tip for almost $35. We are planning on not coming back. To be honest I’ve had better sopes and burros at Burros and Fries. Overrated.
Don't bother with the Holly Jolly pop up bar, it's not worth the time and money. The drinks are super sweet and very watery. The food is decent, but the service is terrible. Our lady couldn't be more disappointed to be working. They pack the tables in so tight that you can't slide back to get out if someone is seated behind you. I won't be back next year.
The Holly Jolly pop up was a complete waste of time and money. The host didn’t even look like she wanted to be there. No holiday spirit or professionalism. The drinks were terrible. The food came out cold and tasted like cafeteria food. It was hard to get the attention of our waitress as she waited on far too many tables. We highly regretted wasting money at this pop up. We’ve been to several and this was the worse experience we’ve ever had. I do not recommend it.
My review is based on the Holly Jolly event @ LTC- I went for the first time for this event and to the start off the employees were definitely not in the holiday spirit and annoyed to be there and do their job that should have been red flag number one but we tried to push past it. We got sat and got our complimentary drinks. We also asked for water to go with the cocktails. Our waitress completely forgot our waters. When we finally got her attention which was really hard to do she only brought one and it had black gunk in it. When we got her attention again to tell her something was in the water. She just took the drink and left never acknowledged what was said nor apologized. Really dissatisfied we decided to check out and leave. Now the waitress decided to linger around and this was the most we had seen her even after we had paid and everything. When she realized she wasn’t getting a tip she decides to tell us “happy holidays, I hope god doubles your money”. Definitely never recommending this place to anyone.
We came here tonight to celebrate my son’s birthday. Our server Cindy was excellent. The chicken wings we ordered were too salty and had too much fat on the them. Our party spent more than $300 yet they would only give us a 50% discount on that item. The manger Rene was not helpful and unfortunately we will not return or recommend this restaurant. We left with a bad taste in our mouth.
No stars at all, food was crap not authentic whatsoever, the beans were supposed to be Puerco beans they taste like they came out of a can of Sun Vista beans. The rice was very bland and had no flavor whatsoever. The food was also cold paid a lot of money for gross food. My stomach was upset after leaving. I went back to speak to a manager to not get a solution wasn’t given a refund nor a fair resolution at all. The establishment doesn’t even have an actual phone number to get a hold of that right there should give you a clue on how crappy the company and restaurant is in itself. No other people sitting in the dining room either that should’ve been my first clue to leave. Don’t recommend!
