Reservation is highly recommended. Even though we were asked to wait for 45 mins initially, they were able to get us a table quickly in the patio where you can enjoy the view. We ordered guacamole, potatoes bravas and few drinks. Great place to visit to enjoy the view of Mexico City. Service was excellent.
Went up to the 38th floor to checkout the amazing views and was pleasantly surprised by how amazingly tasty the pastries and coffee were. The ambiance was nice as well as the views!
Cityzen is a cool spot to grab a drink and take in some pretty amazing views of Mexico City. It's located inside a hotel, so you’ll have to walk through the lobby and take two elevators to get up there, but it’s all pretty straightforward. We went in the middle of the day and had no trouble getting a table without a reservation. That said, if you’re planning to go for sunset or during busier hours, it’s probably a good idea to book ahead. I can see it getting full quickly. The drinks were tasty, the service was super friendly, and while everything was nice overall, the real highlight is definitely the view. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a chill rooftop vibe.
I’m so excited we were able to get a table here. My friends and I got cocktails around 6pm and stayed until about 8pm and it was such a gorgeous view! Lots of tourists here at this location. Definitely recommend reservations if you want to go for sunset. We were lucky and did a walk in and were able to get a table on the terrace. Otherwise, it’s easy to find and staff were very friendly.
We went to Cityzen on September 16th at 5pm and able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view with no wait times. We each got 2 of the Spritz drinks and they were amazing! However, the highlight for us was the service that we received from our server Bruno. He was knowledgeable on the drinks and had a very pleasant demeanor. He was friendly and that was a great addition to the atmosphere. Thanks Bruno!
Spectacular city views, great host who accommodated our request to change the table. It was a bit loud inside so it was harder to have a chat, but we moved to the couch on the balcony and we had the most amazing city views. The drinks were great, music was awesome, the bites were really good too. Overall an excellent experience!
Cool high rise bar. Plan to visit at sunrise.. amazing views. There's a minimum charge on weekends
We had a wonderful time at this rooftop! The staff were incredibly accommodating and very attentive. The food was delicious and beautifully displayed. I would highly recommend! The views are absolutely breathtaking.
The views, food and service is fantastic....Great atmosphere
Dj, cool drinks, best views and amazing hospitality. 😊 Daniella is a star! Super nice
My fiance took me to this beautiful restaurant for mother's day/birthday. I had a wonderful time and the view was amazing. Food was delicious. Only thing I disliked was the 1 bathroom stall. Would definitely come here again to celebrate a special day. Waiters/staff were friendly. They even passed out small bouquets of flowers for mother's day.
Very good service and delicious food. Especially the attention of Amaury, he was very attentive and kind to us. We had a very nice time with my wife, it was an ideal place to say goodbye to Mexico City and return to our country.
A cute rooftop bar with good snacks, excellent drinks, and some of the best views of Mexico City on offer
Amazing view and great drinks. 38th floor of the Sofitel hotel
A must-see if visiting Mexico City! Try to reserve a table in advance, as it’s a shame if you get seated inside! We managed to get a table outside very last-minute - the views were stunning and the food was satisfying. A bit expensive but the views and experience of it all was totally worth it!
The view from the rooftop is outstanding! Getting the chance to see reforma and it’s skyscrapers while having a drink is a great experience. Prices are not high at all for a 5 stars hotel and a rooftop bar. The staff is really nice too ! You can book until 4pm which is great to know.
Food was super tasty. Drinks were a bit slow from the bar. The views are amazing and the team are very accommodating!
Located in Sofitel hotel building, take an elevator from ground floor to the 14th floor to the hotel lobby, then make left to take another elevator to the 38th floor. The patio is kind of tight but gives you a great view of the city. Drinks are delicious, food is great and the service is amazing.
Amazing!!! Most spectacular views! Drinks, food and service was great! I see some reviews complaining about prices, I don’t think it’s expensive at all, you get what you pay for. Views are free 😎 and you can’t beat that! 10/10 recommend. I will definitely be back on my next stay.
Excellent and breathtaking views of Reforma. Got a high table with a view to the Angel de la Independencia. Awesome service, relatively fast. Food was good, decent prices. Loved their cocktail menu, all cocktails were very original and chic (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Valet parking available. Clean and convenient WC. Definitely a must in Mexico City!
Really nice place! The food is amazing and overall great in every aspect! If you want seating in the terrace make a reservation.
Burgers and short ribs tacos were very delicious. The traditional carajillo was on point. The other carajillo was too strong and not as sweet. The view was the star. We had a reservation. But there is a bar on floor 14 that doesn't need reservations. You can see the angel even better from the 14 floor, but the windows aren't as clear as they xoild be (water stains).
Great place to have a little snacks/dinner and drinks. The cocktails were pretty tasty and wide. The views are amazing and the service very cordial. We had a reservation and it was pretty good and accommodating.
The view of the city was breathtaking. Was definitely not expecting it. You'll get one of the best views of the whole city.
Cityzen has a great ambiance. Beautiful view. Awesome service and a shout out to Alex for making my sister’s 50 birthday special. Totally recommend while you are in CDMX
Great views and even better service. Fantastic for some sunset drinks. Shoutout to Juan, made sure our drinks were never empty and tooks some stunning photos during golden hour. A little pricey and limited food menu but absolutely worth it for some drinks with a view!
Perched above the city, this rooftop bar offers a memorable escape from the bustle below. From the moment you step out of the elevator, you’re greeted by sweeping skyline views that feel especially magical at sunset, when the sky shifts through warm hues and the city lights begin to sparkle. The atmosphere strikes a thoughtful balance between relaxed and refined, making it equally suitable for a casual drink after work or a special night out. The drink menu is well curated, featuring creative cocktails alongside classic favorites, all made with quality ingredients and presented beautifully. Signature drinks stand out for their balanced flavors, while the wine and spirits selection caters to a range of tastes. The food menu, though concise, complements the drinks perfectly, offering shareable plates that are fresh, flavorful, and ideal for grazing. Service is attentive without being intrusive, with staff who are knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations. While it can get lively during peak hours, the energy adds to the charm rather than detracts from it. Overall, this rooftop bar delivers on ambiance, quality, and experience, making it a standout spot for anyone looking to enjoy the city from above.
Cityzen is a gorgeous restaurant right in the heart of Reforma. The food is decent, but what really makes it worth visiting is the view. If there aren’t any terrace tables available, you’ll be seated indoors until one opens up (they go by order of arrival). Sometimes you’ll get lucky and won’t have to wait too long, but it’s a good idea to go with plenty of time just in case if you're looking to have a view.
It's the bar/restaurant at the very top of the Sofitel hotel on Reforma. Great views of the city. Not for those with a fear of heights! Helicopters will be flying around below you! It can be a little loud and crowded sometimes, but it's a nice place for sure!
Beautiful views, great service and drinks but the food was bland. I would definitely return for the ambiance, food could be better.
The views from here are incredible. I think for the experience of having a 38 story view is nice. The service however felt slow. The server we had also was very forgetful and didn’t feel as attentive as he could have been (forgetting to give us cream and sugar for our coffee, we had to request it). The food however really shined. The fresh fruit was delicious with a beautiful presentation. The chilaquiles de pasilla was amazing. I had it with chorizo as a protein and it was great.
I have been in this places couple of times, I normally come for cocktails with friends l. This time I came for breakfast and it was good and had a great presentation. THE VIEW is always GREAT
This is a great place to go if you are looking to get a great view of the city while you eat or hangout with friends. The food is just ok. Nothing special. There are not a lot of options and when i arrived food was not being served so I had to wait an hour. Food is not served between 12 and 130 if im not mistaken. Like someone else said, one time is good enough. But you might want to return again just for the view!
I was going to give five stars but the host's made such a big deal that I wanted to sit down alone at the glass looking down at the sunset even the restaurant was empty that makes me feel so bad that I had to get four stars. My waiter was Diego he was so helpful and very very nice and he made my stay here at ciztyzen so nice I was able to see the sunset enjoy this beautiful view. wish I could give you five stars but it was the awkward moments with the host's that I cannot do that There's no doubt that the big big thing here is that the restaurant/bar has a big view of the Reforma Avenue. This is the trendy bar at the moment in town having long waits during weekends the prices are a little above average. I would definitely recommend you to have a drink and watch the city and maybe enjoy your food Another thing that makes me not give five stars there's barely no options for food for vegetarian's I had the potatoes without the bacon which was very good and the dry fruits brie cheese which was very good as well but that's it there's nothing else for vegetarian this people needs to get more food for vegetarians
We visited this restaurant for the view and we were not disappointed one bit. It's on the rooftop of the Sofitel Mexico City Reforma hotel and had the best cityscape view of Mexico City we've seen during our trip - absolutely stunning. The service was really good and the overall atmosphere was phenomenal! The food and drinks were (naturally) overpriced, but they were very tasty and did the job of feeding us lol. It was nothing too special though! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to grab a drink and take in the beautiful view. I wish I went back another time before leaving the city.
Great spot for a beautiful view of the city. Food was a bit hit or miss. And unfortunately when we just arrived, one of the waiters dropped a cup of coffee on our table. It was of course an accident and the staff was very kind to us to make sure we still had a nice experience.
This spot is really for the view of the city as it is quite expensive.. 2 drinks one bottle of water n mediocre guacamole for 67 dollars not pesos!! Yes I understand it’s Sofitel Hotel but dear Lord that is Miami - NYC price.. anyway drinks were good n view .. guacamole was watery n not as good.. service was really good though 😎😎
Great view of Mexico’s city skyline drinks are good somewhat pricey but nice way to spend a couple of hours there didn’t eat there why would you there’s so much more great places to eat in the city
Well, I kinda knew what I was walking into when we reserved this restaurant. It’s really just for the view. The food is very, very average to boring. We ordered the beef sliders, pulled pork slider, guacamole with suadero and the chocolate mousse. The beef pattie had no salt in it, so the flavor was very bland. The pulled pork meat was too salty. The guacamole tasted like it was premade packaged guacamole you get from Costco and the mousse was too thick. Very unimpressed. Is it so hard for hotels to provide good food? They have so much competition from restaurants in CDMX that provide great quality food. Especially when you are paying more than $1,000 per person. This place is “Once is more than enough”. I wouldn’t even recommend it to my friends or family. Even for the view. However, service was VERY KIND and ATTENTIVE. Our servers, Bruno and Amaury, were attentive, kind and didn’t forget us even though we were sitting at the last table. Very appreciated.
A great view of the city. The food wasn't bad, and the service was okay. We sat on the patio with a south facing view. The best view is on the west side, looking to the Angel, Chapultepec, Polanco, etc. What I didn't like is that it got too windy there by the end of our meal. At that point, we had already ordered dessert and asked the server if we could move to the west side to a small table for two since it was all empty. He said yes. But one minute later, the hostess came to almost yell at us for having moved to the "experience" side. I asked what the difference was and she said one has to reserve the table online and pay about USD100/person in advance. We stood up and moved inside to get our dessert and leave. Now, that's fine, but it seems a bit ridiculous and almost laughable when all the tables are available and they seem to have no reservations booked. Tables were available the whole time (see pictures), and inside was crowded. Next time we'll go to Ling Ling, Animal or Zanaya.
Not worth the hype. The place is tiny and only handful of ppl can have seating with great view. Wait staff are amazing but the hostess has so much attitude. Loved their fruit plate and mimosa tho
My husband made reservations for breakfast on our last day in CDMX and our server Juan was beyond rude. He initially brought a basket full of breads of which we declined since we had not seen the menu yet. Once we saw the menu we asked him for a Le cube de frambuesa de vainilla and his response was “that’s why I brought the basket so you could’ve picked it out”. I was speechless and just continued with my order. The basket the servers bring around have so many selections of breads and they should not be irritated if a customers chooses a bread later with their meal or stay. Why should a server like Juan have an attitude when customers are expecting an impeccable service from Cityzen. Very disappointing.
Great ambience. Hostess was rude and had attitude. Location was not busy at all and when asked for terrace seating she placed us in the furthest corner from the main view despite multiple open tables on the more desirable side and no other parties waiting. We sat initially at a table which I asked to move a chair to be at the head of table instead of awkwardly to the side of the other two in the party and I was informed this was not allowed despite other tables being seated with someone at the head of the table. I was informed if we had a party of 5 one could sit at the head, but not for a party of three. Additionally when we were moved to our terrace table in the back corner we had just cut slices of the croissant cubes for each of the three in the party. When we relocated they simply removed those places and threw out the croissant, which had to be replaced when we informed them. Food was decent, croissant cube was too dense and not flaky like a croissant. Chilaquiles were yummy. Good atmosphere especially if you can be seated in one of the more desirable locations unlike our back corner table seating. Be prepared for attitude from the hostesses. Waiters are pleasant.
Perfect place with stunning sumset views, but the service leaves much to ve desired. I trued to book a table a week in advance, there was no any. When i arrived hoping for a walking in, they sat me at the bar where you face sunset left. I had asked to move to a table several times (many were available), they said everything had been booked. So in the end of the day, you 1) cannot book a table and 2) many tables were available. I didn’t feel welcome there, regardless of the overpriced menu
Atmosphere is great. Amazing views of the city. The host would not let us change tables even though there was no wait and there were open tables. All of the other reviews are correct about the service. If you want good views with a terrace, there are nicer places in Juarez.
Nice space with fantastic views but… 1) Children kicked out at 6pm even though it is not posted anywhere, sunset is at 6:30 and parents clearly book to see the sunset. 2) Ordered a dirty martini that required multiple staff to understand what it was and still delivered incorrectly. For a cocktail bar, this was especially surprising. 3) snack delivered to the table were inedible. Glad we were asked to leave with the kids before we ordered food.
Ordered Extra crispy suadero order to add to your guacamole salty as hell and the meet was flavorless and Short-rib tacos needed the salt. Seemed to service more hotel clients. To bad the view is nice.
If you don't like heights, this 38th floor bar will make you ill. The outside area is so narrow and the walls are all glass. I wanted to enjoy the view but I felt uneasy. I have been to a lot of rooftops before--even higher ones in Asia. Something doesn't feel right. Nice service but I wouldn't come back. $420 for one cocktail and one coke.
Yeah the negative reviews about the service are absolutely spot on.. but for the spectacular view, this place is terrible. The host staff (except for a few of the servers) feel like they can ignore you and shoot down simple requests, just because they work in an overpriced bar on top of an overpriced hotel? I’d skip this spot entirely, but if you want the stress for the chance at a fantastic view of the Angel and CDMX from above, be my guest!
I made reservations here for me and a friend. When we got up to the restaurant there was no greeting, first red flag. Once we told them that we had a reservations they sat us down (we were almost an hour early). The table where we were seated had the full sun in my face and was hitting my friends back. We waited for a waiter to offer us water because it was extremely hot outside. Once I noticed the waiter wasn't coming I walked to the host and asked him if he could please change our seats. He said "all the tables were reserved." I attempted to wait it out, but the sun was clearly uncomfortable enough for us not to want to be there. What is most upsetting is that the host could've asked us to wait a couple more minutes for another table since the sun usually sets around the same time. Instead he immediately said "there's nothing available". No water, no accommodation and really rude service. On top of this, everything was expensive (American prices) for what looked like to be basic items and drinks. And the view was definitely not worth the prices. So we left to Balta, the restaurant a couple levels down with better and more accommodating staff. I hate to say this too, but they seemed to be more focused on white Americans. Disappointing experience.
