A place with a truly family atmosphere... good Lombard cuisine using seasonal ingredients... the host is a truly friendly person, and the service is prompt and friendly. The fireplace added a touch of class to the grey day outside. We'll definitely be back. Prices are in line with what we ate.

A very welcoming atmosphere both in summer—with a shaded outdoor area—and in winter, with the restaurant heated by fireplaces and wood-burning stoves. The menu features a few traditional dishes, all homemade with fresh ingredients, and pizza (only in the evening). Friendly and attentive service; superb homemade desserts. The ravine located right in front of the restaurant and the valley walk are definitely worth a visit; there's also the option of a trip to the Basilica of San Pietro al Monte (1.5 hours one way).

Very authentic restaurant, feels very cosy and homemade. Fresh food, nice varied menu and extremely affordable prices. What really impressed us were the desserts - we would probably say that the Tiramisu and their dolce tralala cake were both SUBLIME. This is a lovely location to also start a beautiful hike up to an old monastery.

For us it was just a place to have dinner after a walk in the surrounding hills, the food was only acceptable to satisfy hunger, and the service was rustic, good price commensurate with the quality.

Hostaria da Edo Review, Civate Today I had lunch at Hostaria da Edo and had a very positive experience. This vacation rental offers an interesting daily menu, ideal for those looking for a simple yet tasty meal. I tried the pipette alla norma: good, although with room for improvement. However, the meat served was truly excellent, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The restaurant is located in a charming setting, perfect for a quiet break. I highly recommend a visit!

For us, it was an embarrassing experience from start to finish, and the thought of returning never even crosses our minds. The pizzoccheri? An insult to the original dish: bland, almost devoid of vegetables (except for a few chard thrown in for good measure), and with very little cheese. A dish that screamed "made in a hurry and without the slightest care." The pizza wasn't any better: very thin, not crispy, and the mozzarella was strange. A sad disc that could hardly be called a "pizza." The only good thing, along with the pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and truffled Taleggio, was the tagliata, tender and well-made... but that alone isn't enough to save a dinner. It's like putting the icing on a disaster: nice, but still a disaster. And then the bill... The lady, completely engrossed in her conversation with others, treated us as if we were bothering her and begging. When we pointed out that there were four of us and we simply wanted two separate bills (not 90 people), she refused to do the separate bills, annoyedly telling us that it says it's not allowed and that "the total divided by four is so much." Too bad we had to pay in two couples anyway, so she had to do two bills anyway... She didn't even bother calculating them: I had to do it myself on my phone, while she looked at us like we were a living nuisance. And when we said we were paying by debit card... all hell broke loose. To the first couple, she didn't say anything, but to the second, she started off with, "Well, it always ends like this, though." Truly an elegant way to treat customers, congratulations. Let's just say that €130 for an experience like that is a far too generous gift. I really don't know where all this self-confidence in treating people badly comes from; we, the customers, are the ones who keep the place going! Terrible experience. In response to yours, I didn't say the mozzarella wasn't enough, but rather it was weird! In Italy, there's freedom of expression, so I'm expressing my discomfort. I certainly don't want to come and lecture you on your job, but a little respect for customers is welcome. We finished the food because there's no waste, and not all of it because we took half a portion home. I asked the girl if she could take it away, and her response was, "I'll ask in the kitchen if there are containers." So, we took half a portion of pizzoccheri home, a portion eaten, the tagliatelle were delicious, so we ate both, and the two meats were good. The pizzoccheri, which you think are amazing, my mother opened the fridge this morning, thinking they were old, and because of the sour smell, she threw them away. I'm sorry, ma'am, but I don't agree with the other reviews. It may have been a bad night, but unfortunately, I happened to be there, and I'll leave a review with my thoughts. Have a good day.
