This is the best restaurant I’ve been to in the BSC area! I’m not even done eating and I’m writing this review because the food is just that good! What else can I say? My food just came in as I was writing this lol. This is really high quality. The appetizers alone are better than most restaurants signature dishes. The food is so good that I contemplating editing my previous reviews of restaurants in the area to lower all of them by one star because this place set my new bar for restaurant quality. The food is kinda pricey but it’s worth it. Like with anything in life, you get what you pay for.
Wow. This place is cool. Great atmosphere and vibe. Staff wears a cool apron looking attire. They have a great dinning area and a bar and also a wine cellar. Great place for large or small group. It was very busy when we went but got seated quickly. If you have a big group, call for reservation. Great menu. We order shrimp scampi and clam linguini. Both were great. Tasted delicious and portion was good. The bread for the scampi is great too. Our server was great. He was able to memorized orders for 10 people without writing them down.
The saltimbocca style chicken was seriously to die for. One of the best dishes I’ve ever had and very unique too. The Detroit style pizza was fantastic as well. Our booth was a little dirty, lots of servers are college kids that aren’t trying
Ordered the Gnocchi with Tomato Vodka Sauce and added crispy chicken based on my tables waitress’ recommendation. The recommendation was sooo worth it. The food was warm, and met my expectations. Could have been more chicken but the texture was truly crispy and flavorful. Thank you Ally for the suggestion. The dinner and service was wonderful.
Chef Poche' you have an absolutely lovely establishment here. I had one of the best meals of my life yesterday with my wife. Impressing me with your delicate but thoughtful use of tarragon was a delightful surprise and sipping on some 100 proof bourbon while she and I enjoyed our decadent lemon blueberry tiramisu, well lets just say its was an evening we wont forget. Im sure you understand, more than just making me happy, you made her happy. Thats gold on the barrel head friend. Money on the wood. By the way, Chris was phenomenal. God bless you and yours. Sincerely, Scoreslammers Hey 30,000 views with my 1 photo!
Great option for date night. Calamari was light and crispy, excellent. House bread was warm and pillowy but I think should be served with EVOO and salt/pepper for dipping. Crab cake was flaky and flavorful with a nice arugula salad on side. Lobster carbonara was very good, with generous amount of lobster and a rich sauce. The Alfredo was cooked al dente and sauce was nice and creamy. Daughter couldn't stop eating it. We ordered the chocolate hazelnut cake and it was magnificent...its a quarter cake and we didn't make much of a dent. We should have taken the rest to go... don't make our mistake! The gamache is refreshing and the frosting layer is not too sweet...great balance. Would pair perfectly with a coffee after dinner. Service was attentive and they were actively hustling throughout the evening. Great establishment!
First time experience at this amazing restaurant. For a busy Sunday night my significant other and I were seated immediately. The ambiance is upscale /dim and overall a very mature setting . **Please note and appreciate a small menu**it means everything is cooked to order and very fresh . There are many great options to choose from so you will not be overwhelmed like other restaurants where they have multiple pages ect….Our waitress shelby was fantaabullisss ❤️knowledgeable and she was just wonderful overall, she had THE BEST recommendations. I wanted a mocktail and she suggested the pink Cadillac (10/10) it was so yummy . We started off with calamari(10/10) it was crispy/fresh/light and not oily at all, the red gravy sauce was very good however we didnt get to dip into the tartar sauce as much but im sure its great as well -the jumbo lump crab-cake was amazing it had crispy onions on top paired w/ the aïoli sauce on the side it was fantastic it had a fresh arugula and tomato mix on the side. The vinaigrette they put on top was fantastic (10/10) - for our main dishes Shelby recommended the gnocchi dish (10/10) I mean the best gnocchi ive ever had it was so pillowy soft and filled with the perfect amount of ricotta. The vodka sauce was creamy and well balanced cheff kisses 😘. My significant other had the Cioppino it had the perfect amount of spice and everything was super fresh (10/10). The house made bread was (10/10) super soft and fresh and the olive oil and seasoning brushed on top just so good and straight out of the oven . I would’ve finished the bread but I was sooo stuffed . We killed ever single dish and had to get the hazelnut cake to go . Super big slice , I cannot wait to dig into that later . Also for the price and amount of food is amazing. We try our restaurants everywhere we visit and I must say if your looking for amazing Italian food , great service with an excellent atmosphere touch down over at 1860 Italia ‼️‼️This restaurant takes the cake in College Station . Everyone really worked together from the sweet hostess’s, to the bartender’s and waiters and waitress’s. I love to see when an establishment works together to give the best customer service experience and lends a helping hand where needed once it gets busy. We would definitely be returning customers at this location just fantastic!! Came back on Monday night before heading back to Dallas and Anthony took care of our table - he was great and attentive as well. We ordered the same thing!!
A special shoutout to Hannah, who went above and beyond to make our evening perfect. Hannah handled out larger party with such ease and professionalism. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offered great recommendations and mentioned the specials for the night, and always seemed to appear right when we needed something. Her attention to detail and genuine hospitality truly made us feel valued. If you’re looking for a place with great ambiance, fantastic food, and top-notch service, look no further than 1860 Italia. We’ll definitely be back!
We had such a great time at 1860 Italia for a Wednesday night date night. It was certainly busy, but all of the staff were very nice and attentive. We ordered the calamari, linguine with clams (red sauce), spicy pepperoni pizza, and tiramisu -- all of which were absolutely delicious. We were visiting from Dallas and really wishing we had this place closer by, as it beats most of the Dallas Italian places. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and serving sizes. For drinks, we just had the house cabernet, but it was truly delicious. We didn't catch our waitress's name, but she was graduating the next day -- she was a star! Overall, this restaurant was a great date night spot with attentive staff and a very high-end feel. We will definitely be returning when we are back in the area.
First visit and it didn’t disappoint. I had the braised beef ravioli (limited time) and my wife had spaghetti in a vodka tomato sauce with chicken. Both recommended by our server Sarah. The pics don’t do it justice bc we forgot to take pics until after we started eating. 😬 The bruschetta was phenomenal and the house bread is amazing. 1860 is a must if you’re in CStat! Ask to be seated in Sarah’s area, she knows the menu front and back.
I treated myself to a restaurant that was new to me and 1860 Italia did not disappoint! From the wait time of my reservation, food, and customer service I was very pleased. My waiter was great, personable and gave me great suggestions! I ordered the pink Cadillac cocktail, gnocchi with red vodka sauce, and the classic cheesecake. He even brought me some delicious bread on the house and suggested I dip it in the vodka sauce… TOP TIER! Highly recommend I will definitely be back!
We had a party of 18 and the server was very attentive and patient. The food is good. Great spot for all parties or a date night with your partner!
Inattentive server. Crab cake was great. Chicken Saltimbocca was forgettable. Chicken Piccata didn’t have much flavor. Chicken Carbonara was good. Desserts were OK. Pretty loud atmosphere.
I ordered appetizer, entree n dessert. It was my birthday meal i gifted to myself The calamari was okay, but little bland. I saw similar issue with my pasta. It had zero herb. I didnt like it. From an italian restaurant i expect better pasta The only think that was good today was tiramisu but i wish they had less cream on top. I didnt taste coffee at all They also make no effort to make your birthday fun n especial. However service was quick n courteous The place was so dark that i couldnt read menu
surprisingly serving dinner options at 230pm. Server was ok. He was engaged. Prices were very reasonable, for what you were getting. mozzarella sticks ok just like every where else. Bruschetta didn't make sense to me, piled on a puffy Flatbread, that you had to man handle to get a piece, and got your hands all messy. Temps on veal chop and ribeye overcooked. server never came by to check temps. Nothing was a wow factor. Expected so much more in quality and service.
I hope it was an off night because service was absolutely terrible [it was not particularly busy, but at least half the tables had patrons]. Based on service alone, I would not recommend. Table of 6 for a birthday dinner. Ordered 4 appetizers and NO UTENSILS OR PLATES were brought to us. Really unacceptable. The apps were cold by the time we could flag down a wait staff person. Ordered bread and asked for some olive oil for dipping, olive oil never came. Requested a bottle of red. Waitress came with a glass. The entrees were made well and portions were generous. Waitress was just oblivious though and missed the mark. Disappeared and never asked how the meal was. I'm not looking for 5 star experience however to drop $400 for a birthday celebration and have the very inattentive service means we wont be returning.
Food was so bland and noodles were way over cooked. I could have microwaved a better meal. Do not get the shrimp limone linguine. It tasted like they put everything together and over boiled it. Noodles were brittle and kept break leaving it inedible. $35ish dollars for this dish, complete waste. Staff was okay but not very attentive. I tried to flag them down on several occasions and the place wasn't busy. Don't waste your time or money, there is way better out there.
For this restaurant to consider themselves upscale, you would think they would try to put effort in all parts of their place. The inside is beautiful and has lovely ambient lighting. But the patio in the evening? Embarrassing. There is absolutely no lighting outside except for the harsh lampposts from outside the restaurant. I could barely read the menu. We asked for a small light and they said they didn’t have any small ones to spare because they were all being used inside… right. Not to mention, we got served food without even having a napkin or utensils to eat it. If you want to eat here, make sure you are inside and it’s not too busy or the service is not the best. I’m currently still sitting at the restaurant and this is disappointing.
New review. I am updating my review. I went today 04/18 to celebrate my birthday and the food was not good the lasagna my husband order was really salty that he got to return it. My gnocchi vocka was salty. The spaguetti and meatballs were spicy for my daughter to eat. The waiter brought the appetizer without utensils. It took us a while to get them.I will not come back again the food taste and quality had change not sure if the chef was change or what happened but service was terrible and the food didn’t taste as good as my first review. Prior review This was the best Italian food we got in a while. Our server Tyler was very attentive he recommended us the Chianti. We order the Santa Cristina Chianti very soft and nice wine. As appetizer we order the tomatoes and mozzarella with arugula. The fry calamari they both very delicious and the portions were great. Main entrees were the lobster carbonara, shrimp scampi and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken.overall the food was super amazing. Hope the restaurant could offer the shrimp scampi appetizer as an entree with pasta, because it comes with bread. Our waiter offer us a side of pasta but my husband decide to eat it with bread and he said it was really delicious. For desserts we order the tiramisu the best I had and the blueberry with mascarpone cheesecake. We couldn’t get to try the cannoli since they run out. We will definitely come back to eat here the food was not only delicious but the service provided by Tyler was incredible. He never rushed us since our reservation was at 945pm ;on the contrary ,he gave us time to eat our appetizers and then order our food. Our compliments to the Chevy for the amazing food and the owner for the great restaurant.
Walked into a fairly empty dining area, so the service we received was extremely disappointing. Based on service and lack of flavor, I would not recommend or return. Before our appetizer came out we got asked from across the bar if we needed anything.. server didn’t come to the table. Our appetizer was okay, but the server didn’t check on us, we had to flag down someone walking by for our needs. Our food was dropped off at the table, then the server disappeared again and never checked in or asked how the meal was. I was without a drink for the entirety of my meal because we weren’t getting anyone by to check in on us. The meals were bland, very flavorless. To spend as much as we did, I expected at the very least decent service. Inattentive service alone made the experience very disappointing.
Terrible service - the server made us wait for everything even when it was not busy. First he didn’t take the order for long. Then he didn’t get us any napkins or fork - upon reminding him that we need some cutlery - he is like sure and then gets the napkin for everyone (which is how it was supposed to be) but says maybe you want to share just in case! Then he acknowledged that I needed for my soda but never got it even after I reminded him after 10 minutes! He was only handling 1 other table. Then he forgot to get us the check for over 7 minutes ( I was counting at this point). Would never go back - do not recommend!
My wife and I have always loved 1860, it’s been one of our go-to spots for great food and an enjoyable evening. We decided to celebrate our anniversary here, confident it would be another wonderful experience. While the food was just as excellent as ever, the service unfortunately fell short this time. From beginning to end, it was subpar and really took away from what should have been a special night. It’s disappointing because we’ve always held this place in such high regard. Hopefully, this was just an off night and not a sign of things to come. We’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, because when 1860 is on its game, it’s truly one of the best dining experiences around.
