The Eagle Short North

Everything was sooooo good. We got a pretty good selection of different sides and entrees for the table - all of the sides are sharing size - and there wasn't a bad dish in the bunch. Great service and atmosphere too. I was hoping this one would live up to the expectations of eating at The Eagle in Pittsburgh, and it totally did. Absolutely love this place, and you can't go wrong.

Amazing food,stellar service, immediate seating on July 4th holiday for supper. We had the hush puppies (they have a little kick to them), fried chicken BLT, and grilled cheese. Portions are large enough to split, and I recommend the cornbread(best we've had) BUT THE DRINKS!!! IF YOU LOVE SWEET!!! SWEET TEA & THE LEMONADE STOLE THE SHOW!! I took away 1 star just because our table was still wet when we sat down and the lanterns above/behind all the booths were in dire need of cleaning(but that is knit picking mostly because I own a cleaning service 😂

Stopped in for lunch and had an absolutely perfect experience! Our server, Mya, was so friendly and attentive! She really made our meal enjoyable! We got the fried chicken sandwich, Carolina braised pork sandwich, mac & cheese and horseradish mashed potatoes. Everything was perfect! So full of flavor and cooked just right! Good food, reasonable prices, fast and friendly service - what else are we looking for? I'll be back!

Laid back and comfortable atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Space was clean and inviting. The service was amazing, she was very nice and attentive. The spicy chicken dip had a perfect balance of cheese & spiciness. I couldn't stop eating it! The Pimento cheese plate was interesting. I enjoyed the pickled green beans & pickles. It's different but interestingly good. Fried chicken was crispy and flavorful to the bone. Spoonbread was very good. Mac and cheese was basic it could use more seasoning, and the mashed potatoes were good but average. Fries average. The grilled cheese has apples on it. My friend loved it. Bourbon punch was refreshing. You must try it. Top picks: Spicy chicken dip, Fried chicken, spoonbread and Bourbon punch. I absolutely will be returning to try some other options. There is garage and street parking available..

Brought my boyfriend here for the first time- he gave it 5 stars! Great prices and large portions- the fried chicken never ever misses. Aiden was a great server!❤️

Ate outside with our dog shortly after a heavy rain. The waiter cleared the table and seats with a squeegee like a pro. Great chicken. Great lemonade. Pictured is quite possibly the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Even though we were the only patrons sitting outside we had great service. Will be going out of our way to return.

Went there for a late night date! Service was impeccable, all staff takes very great care of you!! Zack was an amazing server and very informative about the menu! Definitely recommend him if its your first time. Food is 10/10, (i ordered fried chicken blt, mac n cheese spoon bread and collard greens) big portions and great if you want to share(probably will need to cause its a lot lol)It may be pricey for some but its worth it ☺️ Hope to stop by again soon!

The environment and ambiance is nice and cozy. We had a friendly server that gave us menu suggestions and we were also helped by two other gentlemen. The food was amazing and it came very quick.

Excellent fried chicken! Started with freshly made hush puppies and finished with two day brined fried chicken and mashed potatoes! We showed up on a Thursday without a reservation and sat down immediately - however reservations are easily made through the website. Service was attentive!

Hubby and I LOVEEE eating here! The food never disappoints. We always share a whole chicken and 2-3 sides! The biscuits are delicious, especially with the jam and butter. He’s a big fan of the Mac and cheese, to me it’s just eh! We also love the cornbread and sometimes we get the fries depending on our mood(but usually not you can get fries anywhere)!! Repeat customers for life.

Had one of their grilled cheese sandwiches a year ago while in town for the Arnold Classic, and then spent the past year dreaming about being back in Columbus for the Arnold this year, just so we could go have another grilled cheese! It was so good!! The apples add a unique touch that make what's usually a simple sandwich into something truly special. The Mac and cheese was delicious too. It was so creamy! I'm looking forward to getting my grilled cheese fix next year.

Made reservations was seated right away at an outside table the food was so delicious the chicken was fried and seasoned to perfection the Mac and cheese, spoon bread, candy yams, collard greens shrimp and grits were so good I literally tried everything and was very happy I will definitely be back.

My friend Justin (a regular here 🤣) highly recommended I check out this place and I can see why! The fries and mac and cheese were honestly my favorite parts. 😍 I love shoestring fries so much and the aioli sauce slapped, too. I ordered the chicken sandwich (and opted out of the coleslaw) and I enjoyed the sandwich but it wasn't -spectacular- in my opinion. The flavor of the chicken wasn't entirely there for me and the spicy mayo was possibly what overpowered the chicken. If I were to reorder that sandwich, I would get it without the spicy mayo. Other than that, my husband ordered the fried chicken BLT and he said the jalapeño relish was 🔥 and spicy mustard was really good. Overall, we both agreed the fries were amazing and the mac and cheese was definitely worth going there. We would 100% go again. 😋

Vincent was out server, he did amazing! Very friendly and kind. The Mac and cheese is amazing so was the buffalo chicken dip. Very nice atmosphere and everyone was so nice highly recommend. I will definitely continue to come back.

We had a party of 11 and they were able to seat us together. The food was excellent and our server, Vincent, was super knowledgeable about the menu and was a lot of fun!

My partner and I were in town for the Nine Inch Nails show at the Schottenstein and just decided to check the place out. Really nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Donnelle was tending bar and served us our food. Very friendly guy and pleasant to converse with. I had the mac and cheese with pork tips and collards and my partner had the pimento/bacon burger. The food was delicious. This is definitely our "go to" place when we're in Columbus from here on out!

Dan or Danny the manager was helpful in adjusting our reservation after being stuck in traffic on 71 traveling from Cleveland (we were heading to Columbus for a play). The food and atmosphere are great. I have to say it was nice being at a restaurant where the manager (Dan) was visible the entire time we were there and even checked in with us to make sure we didn’t need anything.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Columbus. The food is always consistent and the hospitality is always on point! From the management to the host, everyone is friendly. They create an experience that keeps us coming back time and time again. Oh and dont let us forget to tell ya.. its the Best Fried Chicken In The City!

The Eagle is our family's favorite spot to eat. Whether it's lunch or dinner the food is always delicious. We have never once left here disappointed. The staff and management team are exceptional. They go out of their way to make sure we are having the best experience even on the busiest game days.

We have been to The Eagle in the Short North several times both eating on-site and getting carry-out. Ordering on their website, is very easy and packaging is excellent! We always get their chicken with hot honey and their collards which seem homemade. Some of their sides especially the spoon bread and the sweet potato casserole are large enough to be shareable by at least 2 people. We have tried other sides and they are all delicious!! We are most impressed with the consistency of their food. You can always count on their food being excellent!!!

Absolutely Amazing food and even better Service. Our food was taking a little longer than expected and the Manager paid for our entire meal. The Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, Mac and cheese and Spoon bread was 10/10.. I will be driving two hours away again to patronize this establishment.

As a regular at the eagle OTR I was blown away by the service, food quality and just overall atmosphere of the short north location. Shout out to Vincent who got us in and out in 30 minutes and we still had a great experience! Dare I say…. They might be better than OTR.

There was a mix up with wait staff and it took over 20 mins for anyone to come to us. We didn’t make it a huge deal but did go ask if they could send someone to at least get us water. The manager was made aware of the situation and handled it with such class and professionalism. They gave us a free appetizer and the service for the rest of dinner was phenomenal. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed everything we got! I highly recommend going if you haven’t been before!

The food and drinks were delicious, the Mac and cheese burnt ends bowl was outstanding. On top of that the service was wonderful. Vincent was our server and provided a great experience. Highly recommend!

Very nice restaurant. The interior is beautiful and very cozy. The service was amazing. The food was good. Portion and price ratio isn't very even but I enjoy trying new places. The pime to burger was good, the onion jam on it really gave it a nice flavor profile. The fried chicken sandwich was perfectly crisp but it does have some kick to it. The hush puppies and dipping sauce were my favorite. The coleslaw is tangy not sweet but was good still. I think $6 for a small side of green beans with little favor was a bit of a rip off but the sweet potato marshmallow casserole was worth it. Overall it's a nice place and I'd recommend checking out at least once

Came to The Eagle on game day vs Penn state. The game vibe was interesting because there were groups of Penn state fans who were excited about their first half performance. The Buckeye MC was also nice to play some music for them. The room was large with a second floor, a great patio, private rooms, and crazy bars. Definitely an awesome place to watch games. Servers were friendly. WiFi was not available. Speaking of their food, I tried their signature grilled chicken. The chicken tasted like the one of KFC. It tasted flavorful but too salty. The honey made it taste better. The mashed potatoes were decent with chicken gravy.

Heidi our bartender was phenomenal. The bone in chicken was great!! Hush puppies , greens, fries, Mac n cheese and burnt ends were all...ehh. Probably won't return.

Third time here, first two were awesome. I felt this last time the chicken wasn’t as great, but the drink was good, Old Fashioned

I had the opportunity to eat at this restaurant and bar with a few others. At the time we were here it wasn’t too busy. We tried the macaroni and cheese, spoon bread and half chicken. We thought all the food was good but our favorite thing was the macaroni and cheese. We all thought that the chicken was good but could have been more crispy for southern style chicken. The restaurant and bar area are open to each other with TVs around the bar that were on sports channels. We sat in a booth near the bar that was visible to the TVs. If I were back in Columbus sometime again I would come back here and try more food here.

Food was really good, but just a bit salty. Had the summer salad with herb chicken. Half portion was a good size and the dressing was nice. Chicken blt was also good. Frys could be a little crispier, or they got soggy while we waited for ketchup. Nice patio area.

I love the drinks at The Eagle! I got their lemon drops and it was delicious! I tried the blackberry lemon drop and it too was a 5/5 along with their blackberry berry lemonade. The fries and the aioli are beyond delicious and go hard! I didn’t get pics of the sweet potatoes but they are a must! The macaroni is good as well!! I’ve had their chicken in the past and I’d give it a 3/5 both times I’ve had it!! I love their buffalo dip too!!

Off the main road with outside seating you have this amazing fried chicken place. Since I was alone I decided to sit at the bar and order food. It was a very quiet Sunday. The bar tender was very attentive and provided recommendations. I had the French fries (dining sauce is amazing). The fried chicken sandwich which was a nice size full of flavor and that spicy mayo packs the extra kick. My only suggestion is to toast the bread for that extra texture. The corn bread skillet, honestly don't remember what they called it but it was out of this world. I would highly recommend this place and will be back!!

Great atmosphere & super nice and fast customer service!! I ordered a Bunch of food just because I wanted to try everything lol. We first ordered the hush puppies which were amazing!! Next - I got the Chicken and it was great, my boyfriend got the chicken sandwich and fries and loved it! I also got shrimp and grits, it was OK. Macaroni and cheese was great! Didn’t care for the collard greens at all tho.

Just swung by for some drinks to cool off from a hot afternoon walk. The place caught our eye because of the wide open patio and seating area... it just looked relaxing from the street. We ordered drinks, the server was friendly and pretty attentive making sure we didn't change our mind and want to order food. The interior has a bar with surround seating, booths around the walls and a couple of large "chief" tables too.

Even though it was a busy Saturday night, we were still seated within 15 minutes. They offer family style seating here, so be prepared to sit in a booth with another party. With that being said, you will have more than enough room to yourself. They have a nice selection of beer and you can’t go wrong with fried chicken! The BLT was filling and tasty. The Mac n cheese is to die for! If you’re looking for a fun place to scratch your fried chicken itch, this is definitely a great option though the parking situation isn’t ideal but that’s to be expected in the short north!

Great vibe with lovely art pieces inside the joint. Two stories with different atmospheres features on each level. Great to watch the game, have drinks or connect with friends. Food was decent - tasty. Only complaint and lost them a whole star, there is NO dessert! Fix it!

We went to the greater columbus convention center, and this place is very close from there. There is plenty of seating, and we have no problem getting a table for 9 of us. The food is good, the service was fine, but there is not much choice on the menu. But overall, it was a great experience.

Parking was relatively close and easy to find. The restaurant was moderately busy when I walked in, I was greeted then sat at the bar. I had the maple old fashioned. I took the recommendation of one of the managers for my meal. After telling Michelle I am vegetarian she recommended the kale salad and the grilled cheese, which were both amazing!! I appreciated her follow through as she came back to check on how satisfied I was with her recommendation. She was great! The bartender was friendly and engaged in small talk which was also appreciated. Overall I had a great experience and will return.

This place has a great vibe and the service is great. Our waitress Kim was AMAZING. She was very polite, professional, and attentive. The food was good, however their menu is very limited and most of the choices are spicy and of course I don't like spicy. My husband loves spicy food so he enjoyed the shrimp & grits I ordered because they were too spicy for me to eat. He also enjoyed the spicy chicken dip and we both really liked the fried chicken and mac and cheese. We won't be dining again but we may go in for cocktails.

Perhaps the worst service ever. Waiter announced halfway through our dinner that he was leaving his shift and asked us to pay immediately and that someone would be taking over. His replacement never came to our table, leaving us to go to the hostess stand multiple times to ask for someone to give us water. Couldn’t find a waiter to give us boxes to go, yet watched the entire staff bs-ing in the back. We sat for 30 mins after finishing simply to see if anyone would check on us—nothing. While the food was delicious, given how horrific the service is, I’ll use DoorDash next time. Inexcusable
