Update: Blueberry pancakes are delicious and chicken fried steak is great as well! Great breakfast spot! Service was awesome. We ordered several breakfasts and everything was great. The pancakes were huge and delicious. The French toast was a tad small. The breakfast plates were perfect portions. Our waitress was very attentive and refilled drinks quickly. Prices were super good! Will definitely be back.
Good experience. Posting an updated menu
The service and food is always consistent which is very good for a Cafe. There are times when comfort foods are needed and City Center Cafe delivers on this very well.
Great food, friendly service and reasonable prices.

Lovely cafe on the square. I had breakfast here one weekday morning when I had time to kill in town. I had the #1, with an over easy egg, hashbrowns, ham, and toast. It was easily the best egg that I've ever had. I'm usually not a fan of eggs, but if I had known it would be that good, I would have ordered two eggs! Service was lovely, as well. The cheerful young lady who waited my table seems like a genuinely lovely person. I hope they are paying her what she is worth, because she really brightened my day. :) I saw that there was another review saying service was too slow, but that was not my experience. I found it to be exactly the right tempo. I didn't have to wait long, but I didn't feel rushed out the door, either. Highly recommended!
Chicken fried chicken was light & crisp and very tasty with sides of mashed potatoes and green beans made it near perfect! Quick, friendly service with only 2 servers!
We eat out at this restaurant about 1-2 times a month. We started eating here when we moved to Early in late 2021. When we first started, there was a waitress who was very quick, attentive in knowing how to read customer needs, friendly and knew the menu well. We haven’t seen her in the last month, but it could just be timing of her schedule. It seems like she used to be there all the time though. The others that have waited on us are great, but not as good as she is. We have had one new trainee that made a minor mistake, which wasn’t corrected before we finished paying. We could have waited but fresh fried okra was taking to long. It was fine though, we completely understand. In today’s times, it is extremely hard for restaurants to get and keep good help. Our food quality, temperature and taste has always been good and at the level one should expect from a restaurant similar to this. The variety of the food is also great. I wish they had more choices in vegetables and offered a vegetable plate option of five veggies like Cotton Patch in Brownwood, but we mainly go during breakfast times so I can get a blueberry pancake because they are the only restaurant close to Early that actually puts blueberries in the mix of the pancakes. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the cashier to realize someone is standing at the desk ready to pay. It’s ok though, because we see this person is multitasking and either working in the office on other when in between or she’s taking care of another customer’s needs at their table. Currently with the job market like it is and their being a shortage of staff available to work these jobs or a lack of desire for people to actually get a job, almost every restaurant we have been to is suffering due to their inability to hire good help or any help for that matter. Therefore, I feel people leaving these reviews and dining in restaurants should use a bit more grace and patience in their words and expectations. If the food is cold, ask for it to be heated up. It could be the cook who is responsible and not the waitress. Tell the restaurant/waitress directly what you feel is inadequate or your needs from them so they can make improvements. We unfortunately tried to dine at City Center twice in this last week and did not know they temporarily had to change their hours to close on Wednesday’s and to close early at 4PM weekly due to staff shortages. This could be cooks as well as waitstaff. We want our local restaurant to stay open, so we will continue to support them by frequenting the restaurant.
This was the halfway point between me and my family. It couldn't have been more perfect. Cute place, great food and the staff were friendly and accommodating. It will definitely be "the" meeting spot!
Delicious, great healthy options for a quick stop while driving through this lovely town. I haven't seen fried zucchini on the menu in a very long time and their is absolutely supreme. I loved the Wing salad, had it with buffalo sauce and ranch, couldn't get enough. I'll be stopping here every time I come through. Great Texas atmosphere too. Thank you!!
Great fresh food every time. Service is always pleasant. Family owned and ran. Couldn't ask for a better cafe in Comanche. Ask for Angela to wait on you, she's great at her job. And be sure to thank her mom who's cooking your meal in the kitchen.
Great food at a great price. You may die thirst before your coffee is refilled though unless you are a regular.
Great spot for breakfast, our server Angela was the best! She truly went above and beyond. Will stop here again if we are in the area!

Food is excellent and good bang for your buck. Double check the hours or call to confirm. Sometimes not open. Other than that service and food is great

Just had a Ham and Cheese Omlete but the Omlete was great. Hash Browns were over done and greasy however. Large place with lots of space.
The wings were very good and large also. I asked for extra crispy wings and they came out perfect. Ate here a few times but the building gets a little warm during the day.

GREAT little cafe on the Comanche Square! The fiid is typical cafe fare but EXCELLENT! the Jumbo stuffed tots are AMAZING! We get them every time were here! Sevice is friendly and good. The "atmosphere" is definitely small towm cafe. Nothing fancy, but plenty of seating and quiet enough to have a conversation!

MY OPINION - The food has never been 'GOOD' - it won't make you sick - but flavor and presentation - are skills they don't grasp. They use lake water for cooking and drinking - it tastes like lake water; they know it but use it anyway. The grits taste like oysters. The place 'looks' good - it would be a great location for a real breakfast cafe. 'C - '
I expected a country cafe. The omelet comes with cheese but everything else is an up-charge. Biscuit wasn't real fresh. Just not country.

They are becoming like all the rest of the places here in Comache they are always finding a reason to be closed and it upsets me because they are the only place in this town to get home cooked food
Stopped in for lunch and seated ourselves. Wife and I ordered water and the server brought out the 2 glasses & took our orders. We each took a drink and realized that there was something wrong with the water. Took the water up to the server and explained the rotten taste, her words to me was "Calm down, it's just the Comanche water". I wasn't upset, my wife and I knew that something was bad wrong with our waters. I have probably been on this Earth twice as long as that server, i have been in that cafe before, and the water did NOT taste like what was served. To be told to "Calm down", that did upset us. So we left right after explaining to the server.
