Great food, excellent service, I was amazed on how the place looks, the water fountain in the middle of the patio, is beautiful. Service was fast. Thanks to all the servers.

I love Guadalajara. Their food is delicious. They have the best chimichangas around. Whether chicken or beef you can't go wrong. They also serve a great California burrito (carne asada with French fries) - not quite authentic San Diego style but still delicious. The service is fast and the wait staff remembers us every time we come in and makes us feel very welcomed.

Guadalajara Grill offers a nice ambiance and has a great location. I highly recommend their specials especially the seasonal vegetable fajitas. It's so delicious and I feel healthy after eating it. The veggies tasted like it was freshly cooked. I'll definitely order at this restaurant again.

Very friendly and great food.

Having been raised in New Mexico and Arizona, I'm used to great Mexican food. Always on the look-out for good Mexican food in California, I stumbled upon Guadalajara years ago when it was a very small strip mall restaurant. Then, the food was very good, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was very, Very, VERY LOUD! Today, they're in a separate building in the same strip mall. It's much larger and a lot quieter. The service is still excellent and the food is still very good. My family eats there regularly and we highly recommend that you give it a try.

The meals are exceptional, tasty, and delicious. Service is promptly given. Cocktails have a good balance of alcohol with mix. Warm fresh chips with fresh salsa that is spicy. Beautiful Restaurant to relax and enjoy.

Ordered the Cheese Enchiladas platter, it was Good! Very cheesy, tasty sauce & plenty of rice & beans. Would of appreciate maybe some sour cream or maybe some Pico de Gallo, something extra on the plate to make it stand out!!!! Overall good experience

Been going here for 23 years...been all over the country and Canada. I've attempted making my own salsa thousands of times and it's never as good as here. The service is world class. I love it!

We've been eating here for 16+ year. Back before they built the beautiful restaurant they have now they were in a tiny little place. As you walked in the owner would yell "Anywhere anywhere" for you to sit where you liked. It was so packed on Friday 's and Saturday's there was always a long wait but the food has Always been worth any wait. That warm and friendly atmosphere he created there has carried over to the new restaurant. We don't hear "Anywhere" as we walk in but those of us that remember will yell it out to the owner to remind him what a special beloved family restaurant he has created. It's a Clayton treasure for sure!!!

First off. The service is incredible. Friendly staff, excellent seating and the food is absolutely fantastic! Every time I've gone there I leave happy. Excellent fajitas! Excellent drinks.

Food is great and what you would expect. Everyone there is very friendly and the service is great. This is so even for vegetarians, who sometimes do not have many options in other places.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The staff is friendly and amazing! The food is fresh and comes out fast and is super affordable. The owner constantly walks around and greets tables and shakes hands and the kids tend to be a priority as they are fed first. The restaurant is always clean and the decor is fitting for the atmosphere.

I love this place! My dad used to go here all the time. Rest in peace 3 years ago. I never got the opportunity to go there with him while he was alive and it was a pleasure to go there and get some really good food. This weekend The service was outstanding. The food was perfect and I would recommend this place to anybody.

My family has been going here for over 30 years. The entire staff is friendly and very responsive. The food is consistently great and they've hosted many birthdays, family get-togethers, and casual dinners there. It's my go-to Mexican restaurant

This is a huge restaurant with lot of seating inside. Ordered Chicken Fajitas and Veggie Enchiladas. Chips and Salsa were very good, salsa was spicy. Both Chicken Fajita and Enchiladas were tasty. Unlike other Mexican restaurants surprised to see big tortilla with Fajitas. Service was good. Definitely a repeatable place.

Great food... very friendly, and efficient wait staff. My friend says they have the "best ice-tea in the city".

My mother and I had a couple servers that had the attention and care of having such a homey environment. Be sure to experience the server Jorge & We laughed and really enjoyed the conversation. We had the chicken super burrito and flautas. Delicious. Very flavorful and their inhouse salsa was addicting. If it's a date night away or family dinner . This is a perfect restaurant for both occasions. They have indoor and outdoor dining areas.

There are levels to Mexican food & honestly this isn’t where I’d go as my first stop. Lol especially not to eat food within my own culture. But lemme tell ya—I’ve been missing out. The food was amazing. I had the steak and shrimp fajitas and it was great. I paid $28 (not my favorite) but it was definitely worth it in the end. Will definitely reorder

This place has the best chili Colorado I have had in years! The service is excellent and the staff are beautifully authentic with exactly the right amount of attention given to customers while giving you your space at the same time. (I love that!) Service is fast, friendly, and they seem genuine and happy to have you there. It’s clean and neat even when it’s busy. They have plenty of room with lovely artwork to keep it interesting. It’s definitely a place you don’t want to pass up and never experience if you love Mexican food and being happy to spend the money on dining out. You won’t regret it for a second! Yummy!

I tried a strawberry margarita , it tasted more like a mix, but it still did the job! It feels like the spot has a lot of potential, even if it’s not showing everything it’s got yet. Most of the customers and staff seemed to know each other, so it definitely has that local hangout feel. Service was quick, everyone was upbeat, and the energy was great. My son and I even caught ourselves singing “¡Vámonos a la playa!” that’s how fun the atmosphere was! 😄 would come back

Good food but service is not great. Once they take your order and deliver the food, you are on your own. You have to try and flag down someone if you need anything else

The restaurant has been around a dozen years or more and remains very popular. Parking can be a bit of a challenge on a busy night but usually something within 50 yards as turnover is brisk. Service on this visit was very prompt and reasonably priced beers on the table 10 minutes from walking in. Chips and salsa were on the table within seconds of being seated. The menu is typical Mexican, fairly basic but adequate choices. Main courses run $12 to $17 which is a little high but they are the only game in town

I boiled Yelp 2 years ago just to complain about GG. I don't know what changed but the service now is on point! Great food, prices a little on the high side, but fun decor and great flavor! HOT PLATE! HOT PLATE!

This place was good and then it kind of went downhill a little bit decided to try it again and it was really good they came back with a bang the prices are good the food is really good I will definitely be going back again glad to see that they're doing things right again.

Update...grilled chicken has more flavor for salad. Margaritas were good as well.. Food was ok this time but usually good. Service was just ok as well. Had shredded chicken salad and it tasted like can chicken with no flavor. Not terrible but not great.

I had the Carne Asada Chimichanga and it wasnt too bad Ive had better they dont put much filling inside and its mainly fried tortilla and cheese. The Cali burrito was disgusting it was a weird sauce on top of an odd combo of meat beans frenchfries and salsa inside a tortilla but it was quiet and nice inside.

Had the flautas and the tortilla shell was thin and perfectly crispy. Chips and salsa were good. The chips were warm and fresh and the salsa was very mild. This was my first visit and I'm already planning to return.

Our initial server was VERY attentive (maybe a bit to attentive as we were meeting with friends we haven't seen in years. On the flip side, the server who took over seemed to be MIA a hand full of times. Overall, good food, good atmosphere. Giving it a 4 so for those who read these, if you get a 5 from me it's AN AMAZING SPOT. Thanks Guadalajara grill, we will be back.

We stopped here for lunch recently after a hike on Mt. Diablo and it hit the spot. My daughter had the fish tacos my son had the chimichangas and I had the enchiladas.

Very busy and the food is pretty good. Shredded chicken is very dry and flavorless. The chile relleno was AMAZING!

Food is good but the service needs some work and the atmosphere is nice it's very old western themed on the inside with a focus on the Hispanic half of it. It takes a while to get an order. Also don't order the cheese quesadia you will probably find plastic in it.

Food was good but not exceptional. I was with three other people and asked for a separate check. I was told “No separate checks”. I explained I wanted a to go order also. Still made me pay with my party and a separate for my to go order. It was an inconvenience to me and the same for them either way. At least they were polite about it.

Fun and friendly atmosphere, but the burritos were flavorless. To be fair, I was in a very large group, and they may not have had as many hands in the kitchen as necessary. I know it's one of my cousin's favorite places for Mexican.

Food was good, but service was sub par. They had a large graduation party which sucked up all the service members so it took forever to get anything. Not staff fault, but management did not staff appropriately to cover their large party and the rest of the restaurant.

The food was okay. The service was very nice; however they gave me a pork taco when I ordered beef and my a$& ate almost all of it before I was definite it was not beef. The rice had a little too much garlic in my opinion. And I went to the bathroom like 4 times from the time I had lunch til about 5pm... that tells me no winno. And I hate to say but the sour cream they put on my enchilada (I forgot to ask no sour cream) it was so disgusting. I barely tasted it. Had to ask for another one. (Why I ONLY eat Knudsen at home) something on that plate upset my stomach... I won’t be returning.

Food is nothing special, I had the Chile Verde. Served what appeared to be canned pork, drowning in what could've been store-bought salsa Verde, with a side of basic rice and old blended up refried beans. Service was prompt but cold. At least the price was low.

The service at this place is always bad. I have tried it 4 times, and the servicers have been rude and not helpful. I have had to ask for EVERYTHING! Even when i ask doesnt mean it ever comes. They have great salsa, but the rest of the food has very little taste.

Salsas and warm chips were very nice, but that was all they did really well. They forgot our daughter's food and had to make it late. Shrimp was overcooked in both of the meals we ordered it in. Enchilada sauce and Diablo sauce both were not good. Far too expensive for what we got.

Another Mexican place rhat can't wrap its head around whats vegetarian and whats not. The difference is this one is very expensive. I went there twice in the last 6 months. First time I asked if their rights was cooked with chicken broth. They said yes so I asked them to bring me my plate without rice. My chile relleno came out with a nice pile of rice right next to it. I let it go and gave the rice to my friend. Knowing this the second time I went I ordered a taco salad. Because I noticed it didn't come with rice. I double-checked with the waitress in English and Spanish to make sure that didn't come with rice. And when the taco salad came out guess what fat layer of rice on the bottom. Kind of surprising that Cooks don't know how to make their own food, and then get away with charging so much money. It's good but just don't count on your food being prepared as you ask.

I ordered the chimichangas with rice & beans. The chicken was very dry and the beef was just a huge clump of fat. The strawberry margarita was excellent, salsa was very good and so was the service. My meal left something to be desired. If I were to return it would only be for the margaritas, chips & salsa.

I had the enchilada suiza. The refried beans and rice had no flavor, and the enchilada barely had any. It was just overall bland food. Not sure what is going on with this once vibrant restaurant, but I hope they get their enthusiasm for flavorful Mexican cuisine back soon.

Food was OK. Very disappointed with the costs of everything. They charged us for multiple chips and salsa without informing us that refills were not free. They would not let me take my leftover soda to go. They also charged a lot for avacado or chips and guacamole. Didn't feel like the taste of the food was worth the extra costs. The green sauce is spicy. Also, they do not use the better tequila for their pitcher of margaritas. We don't expect to return.

There was beans and rice on the side and NO guacamole or sour cream. I know how the meal I always get is prepared and that was not it. My cousin’s carne asada fries had literal pieces of raw carne mixed in with the cooked pieces. Disgusting. I knew the waiter was playing games with us because it’s typical behavior for him. I didn’t have it in me to get into it with him so I just decided to reflect my disdain with a half hearted tip. (Much like the service he consistently provides) It’s very sad. The owner was what made that restaurant great. He’s rarely there, the food tastes nothing like it did, the prices are through the roof and the staff is rude and unhelpful. Oh and get this! They only provide chips and salsa one time,… they now charge per refill. Way to nickel and dime the people that have supported you since day one. I will not be coming back at this point. If I wanted to be extorted out of money and abused, I’d pay a dom. They also served my cousin a margarita without IDing her but made sure to check our vaccine cards before even asking how we were. OMG!! Worst Mexican I have had in a long time. Just Bad. I grew up in LA (known as the second largest Mexican city - by population size), and I ate Mexican food every day, so I know good Mexican food. I have eaten here quite a bit because my boyfriend likes to go but I have had nothing worth reordering. He likes the chicken burritos. I have asked what is good and the response is "everything". Well, I recommend avoiding everything. Americanized, bad ingredients, low quality meats, atrocious flavor on everything I have had. Avoid at all costs.

Worst customer service ever! I manage a restaurant and I know of good customer service. My wife and I were here on 12/2/17 around 2pm. We asked to see a menu because it's not display outside, and we got a bit of attitude. We were hungry and we noticed that they had tacos al pastor. We where impressed by the size and style of the place. Muy bonito. My wife order a virgin mojito which was horrible. We had to wait 40 MINUTES for 2 orders of 2 tacos al pastor with rice and beans. 40 MINUTOS POR 4 TACOS POR FAVOR!!!! I ask Jorge to check on our food, and he was not even nice about it. They didn't check on us at all. And at the end, didn't even ask if we want desert. Horrible experience, never again! If any of my employees had this attitude, they will not be working with me. Please, save yourself a bad time. Go somewhere else.

I have never in my life felt so disrespected. To think that this was my favorite restaurant for YEARS and to be treated the way I was today makes me beyond sad. I drive 25 minutes across town to order my favorite BBQ quesadillas to get home and open my box with dry quesadillas and no BBQ sauce. Usually I wouldn't even be on here writing reviews but the way staff and madmen handled this was beyond unacceptable. I called to let them know that the only thing I came all the way there for wasn't made right and the receptionist said he didn't put any sauce and was very busy and hung up. I called right back to talk to the manager and he got on the phone and said "What do you want me to do. You want me to drive all the way to your house to put bbq sauce. You want a free dish because we forgot to put a little sauce on your plate. I am very sorry but I am very busy" and hung up the phone on me. At this point I am fuming because I never even asked for anything except maybe an open ear. I can't believe that things turned out this way because I was unhappy with the food I payed for. I will NEVER go back to this place again which is unfortunate because it use to be one of my favorites.

I went there a couple of nights ago and was completely disappointed. The chile relleno was smashed and bland, my chicken taco was a giant piece of boiled chicken breast in a tortilla. The food had no flavor. Apparently mine wasn't the only one bland and boiled that night. My coworkers had the exact same problem with their food. I would avoid this place.

Service is not good. The food was good though. When we first started going here we had great service. The last few times the service has been severly lacking. As soon as a large group enters all attention is focused on them while smaller tables are fogotten. The only people that would help us would be the kitchen staff walking by that we stopped. Each time was a different waiter. Never stopped to check our drinks, chips, or even to ask if we're ready for a bill. Had to get kitchen staff to do that.

Food was average, as was the service. When we asked for a refill of chips the waitress was rude and snapped saying “didnt I already refill your bowls?” Then came back and said they were “out of chips” … out of chips at a Mexican restaurant? Okay. We spent over $60 on a meal for three, so I decided to message management via Facebook. I told them I felt the waitress had mishandled the situation, and informed them of the incident. They responded with rude and unprofessional remarks, then sent a photo of chipotles menu, stating that chipotle charged more for chips than they did ($2.50 for chips at Guadalajara after the first bowl FYI!!!), and didnt address the remarks regarding the encounter with the waitress at all. Even though it’s less than a mile from our house, no one in my family thinks this restaurant is worth visiting again. Hot plate? More like hot mess.

I was very disappointed, not good or taste anything to authentic mexican food. Only took me one try to never go back again. I rather go to cinco the de mayo near the shell on Clayton if you want a good meal. Guadalajara Grill is overpriced and overrated for the type of food they are serving.

It's an over hyped on social media kind of place . The food is sub standard, rice has no taste. Chipotle at least knows how to make good tasting rice. The prices are not cheap and are very comparable to Maria Maria in Walnut Creek, and yet the food is nowhere near Maria Maria. I'm not promoting another restaurant, but comparing based on price and food taste.

Horrible experience!! Rented room for mom’s 80th and rented the back room for 75 people, owner yelled at us and kicked us out- after he took our money of course! Owner refused to give us what he had promised. None of us will ever step foot in that restaurant! Horrible service! Save the aggravation. Canned beans are not hard to make.

My husband and I had an awful customer service experience here. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive (water and virgin margarita) 10 more minutes for our waitress to come back and then an extra 25+ minutes for our our waitress to even talk to us. She kept walking by completely ignored us and when called did not ever come back. I had to tell the bus boy to tell her to cancel our order and give us the check. Then that took 10 minutes. Slow service and terrible customer service, I will never be coming back.

I give up after many years of loving this place. The food quality is bland ( I am tired of soggy carnitas and alcohol free margaritas). Service is intermittant. I waited 15 minutes to see a server to get the sour creme I had ordered, that she gave to someone else at my table.

Been here a few times. Today however I thought I was about to be assaulted by one of the servers. When I asked a question about the two taco lunch he raised his voice and yelled his response. I and 3 others at the table couldn’t believe this guy. Then the food came, order was wrong and I asked again. He got upset again. Anyway, the food was terrible, beginning to wonder if they care because it didn’t seem like they did,not even worth one star. All of us agreed never again to this place.

I cannot believe you guys would charge me $1.50 for a slice lime to go with my $17.51 Taco and enchilada combo meal. ONE lime slice for $1.50 is absolutely absurd when a customer is paying almost $18. And the fact that Alex and Luis were so RUDE about it is ridiculous! Alex literally said "we charge for everything. If you want sour cream or guacamole it costs money" ummm sir l'm not asking for sour cream or guacamole, I'm asking for a tiny slice of lime to give your bland taco some flavor. They were so condescending and rude I'm seriously still in shock.

We did not like the tacos. The Ground Beef & Pork looked processed. Not sure what it was. The chicken was OK, the salsa was below average, and the wait staff barely spoke any English. We had to ask for everything but these chips that looked strangely processed. The building is nice but over all below average Mexican restaurant for California. We will not go back.

Not great like it used to be over a decade ago when I last went or especially when I used to go here all the time as a late teen with my grandma who lived close to it. Chimichanga was very dry and so were the beans. Friend also wasn't happy. Shrimp tacos looked great though. Salsa was ok and had a great kick but the chips were stale... Staff was very friendly but we had to keep asking for stuff and seemed a little awkward asking for extra salsa. Seems like mixed reviews which I knew ahead of time but it was close to a trail we were walking so thought we'd give it a shot anyways. Not worth what we paid.

Got told the kitchen was closed and couldn't order food while we're looking around seeing everyone else's plates still comimg.out. I guess you shouldn't enjoy your drink and look at the menu, because the personnel and their friends that were waiting out front, are in a rush to close up and go watch a soccer game, even though we still would have been out of there by 9. No respect and bad lighting. Avoid this dump! It'll soon be out of business.
