It is an authentic Northern Afghanistan food. Food is amazing and delicious I tried Muling Palu and the Lamb Kebab both dishes were off the hook. If you want to taste a real Palu and kebab I strongly recommend Kunduz restaurant in Concord.
Absolutely amazing experience at Kunduz Kabab Restaurant! I had the Qabili Pallau, and it was beyond delicious. The rice, cooked perfectly with sesame oil, had a rich, authentic flavor, and the lamb was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The seasoning was spot on, and the portion size was generous. The service was friendly and welcoming, making the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine. Five stars all the way!
This place seriously blew my mind with their delicious, authentic, and mouthwatering Afghan food and the diverse menu. mashaAllah The environment, vibes, and excellent service just left me speechless. Highly recommended and it’s a must try for all nationalities. I saw the happiness in other customers/guests faces as well. Try it and thank me later.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A True Taste of Turkey with Heartwarming Hospitality From the moment I stepped into this Turkish restaurant, I felt like I was being welcomed into someone’s home. The aroma of fresh spices, grilled meats, and warm bread immediately set the tone for an authentic and comforting dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was prepared with care and full of rich, traditional flavors. The lamb was tender and juicy, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the fresh-baked bread with hummus was heavenly. But what really made this place special was the customer service. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel like family. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. They remembered my name, took time to explain the menu, and checked in often to make sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find a restaurant where you feel such warmth and connection. If you’re looking for amazing Turkish food with a side of heart, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!
The chicken kebabs are delicious. Best I've had in San Diego. The service is non-existent especially on weekends. If you get there later in the evening the food is over. You have to go to the counter and let them know your order as nobody is coming to your table to help you. I would go back just for the kebabs. They were delicious. The rice was over and the bolano was horrible. So I can only recommend the kebabs which were divine.
With all due respect to the entire staff at Kunduz Kabob, I would especially like to appreciate Haroon Jan. He is truly a hardworking, dedicated, and respectful young man. His attitude toward customers is exceptional—always kind, polite, and welcoming. He makes sure every guest is well taken care of, and his service reflects genuine Afghan hospitality. The food at Kunduz Kabob is also full of flavor and absolutely delicious—something worth recommending. Highly recommended!
Kunduz Kabab is hands down one of the best Afghan restaurants I’ve been to! The food is absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and cooked to perfection. I tried the lamb kabob and Qabuli Palaw, and both were amazing. The lamb was tender and juicy, while the rice in the Qabuli Palaw was perfectly seasoned and topped with flavorful meat. I also loved the bolani—crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with their house-made sauces. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re a fan of Afghan cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit! ✅ Highly recommend the lamb kabob, Qabuli Palaw, and bolani! 🍽️ Delicious food, great portions, and fair prices! 👍 Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere!
First time visiting here and it was really amazing! I got the famous Qabuli pulao (which I always wanted to try) and it was glorious! Portions are really generous and worth what you pay for, the lamb meat was so tender and juicy that fell off the bone making the perfect contrast with the stir fried carrots and raisins, the service was excellent as well very attentive and courteous, this is a true hidden gem here in Concord, really delicious Afghan food I'll definitely be coming back!!
Kudus Kabob in Concord absolutely exceeded expectations. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish came out perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and served hot. The meats were tender and juicy, the rice was fragrant and cooked just right, and everything tasted authentic and high quality. What truly made the experience outstanding, though, was our server, Agah Siab. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. He knew the menu thoroughly, gave excellent recommendations, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. His timing was perfect, his attitude was warm and respectful, and he made us feel valued as guests. Service like that makes a lasting impression. It’s rare to find both exceptional food and exceptional service in the same place, but Kudus Kabob delivered on both. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic flavors and top-tier hospitality.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kunduz Kabab – Concord, CA I’ve been to Kunduz Kabab multiple times, and it’s truly one of my favorite places to eat! The food is absolutely wonderful — especially the Muling Pulao, Tikka Kabob, Bolani, and Turkish Wrap. Everything is cooked to perfection and full of rich, authentic flavor. Even though I travel over an hour to get there, it’s always worth the trip. The quality, taste, and hospitality make it a standout restaurant. I really hope they continue serving these amazing dishes just the way they do now, without changing a thing. I highly recommend Kunduz Kabab to everyone — if you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out!
The food was fresh and very delicious. The portion was big compared to other afghani restaurants. Their ice cream is not too sweet and very creamy which we enjoyed. The customer service was also pleasant. I would recommend going
I recently visited Kudzu Kebab and had the lamb kabob, which was grilled to perfection—delicious and juicy! I highly recommend giving it a try. This was my first visit, and I will definitely be coming back. A special thanks to Faisal Jan for the outstanding customer service; he was professional and a great communicator.
My visit to Kunduz Kabab Restaurant on Willow Pass Road was a truly exceptional experience. The food was nothing short of amazing, offering authentic flavors that transported me. We began our meal with the chicken soup, which was a delightful and comforting start. It was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. For the main course, we chose the qabeli pallow, which was simply superb. The rice was perfectly cooked, fragrant, and studded with tender pieces of lamb, sweet carrots, and raisins, creating a harmonious and unforgettable taste. We also enjoyed the chicken kabab, which was both healthy and incredibly delicious. The chicken was moist and expertly seasoned, grilled to perfection, and served alongside a generous portion of fluffy rice and a fresh, crisp salad. Beyond the delicious food, the restaurant's atmosphere was a major highlight. The back dining area, in particular, offers a truly unique and beautiful setting. The setup includes traditional Afghan rugs on the floor, surrounded by large pillows and toshak (mattresses) for seating, which made me feel as if I were in Kabul. It was an awesome setting to enjoy a wonderful meal. The overall service was excellent, though I would humbly suggest they consider bringing a glass of water to every table as a standard practice. This small addition would make the dining experience even more seamless. I highly recommend Kunduz Restaurant to anyone seeking authentic Afghan cuisine in a beautiful setting.
Sometime you find hidden gem at unexpected location. Recently found out about Kunduz Kabob and went there, Excellent food. Kabobs was super delicious, we had nothing but kabobs. Will definitely go there again. Service is very slow, it took them 10-15min to come for an order and then took additional 25-30min before food come to table.
5 Stars - A Must-Try Spot in Concord! We had an incredible dinner with friends at Kundoz Kabab Restaurant in Concord. The food was absolutely delicious! The kababs were tender, juicy, and full of authentic flavor, and the Qabuli rice was perfectly cooked with the right blend of spices and sweet carrots. You could really taste the quality and care in every bite. The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere made us feel right at home. It’s a perfect place for both casual outings and special gatherings. Highly recommended if you’re looking for amazing Afghan cuisine in the Concord area. We’ll definitely be back!
The staff here are so kind and respectful, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. I went with my friends and we all loved it!
The food is delicious and the customer service was excellent. The manager and the wait staff were welcoming and friendly. This is the most authentic Afghan food I have ever tried since I have been in the US. We ordered the kabobs, bolani, chicken wrap and Qabuli. All of them tasted amazing. The menu prices are comparable to or just a little lower than the nearby Afghan/Asian restaurants. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t very busy despite being a relatively small restaurant. Highly recommended. Five star all over. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kunduz Kebab is easily the best Afghan restaurant I’ve tried! The food is absolutely delicious—every dish is full of authentic, rich flavors. Amazing authentic Afghan food. The kababs are perfectly grilled, Muling Pallau is my favorite , and the service is great. Warm atmosphere and delicious food, definitely one of my favorite spots. Highly recommend!

I recently visited the Kunduz Kabab restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The kondos palau was absolutely delicious—flavorful, well-cooked, and the meat was wonderfully tender. The kebabs were equally tasty, juicy, and full of flavor. The only downside was the tea, which could use some improvement. Additionally, the interior was a bit smoky due to the kebab charcoals, which could be addressed to make the atmosphere more comfortable. A bit more organization and tidiness would also enhance the overall experience. Despite these minor points, the food was fantastic, and I’d definitely return and recommend it to others.

It was my first time trying this place. I ordered a soup, but it wasn’t the way I expected. The quantity was small, and the taste wasn’t like Afghan soup. I was a bit disappointed. But the good thing is the their service is great.
Updating my rating. The prices have gone up, rightfully, but the quantities ahave also gone down. We've watched the $25 qabli pulao become a $25 bone, which is pretty disappointing. We always order the larger one (and other entrees) to share, but this "extra portion" dish is 90% rice atp. Attaching an image because it's truly that disappointing. This just arrived 3 minutes ago. _______ This is an EASY 5 stars. I've never hesitated to give it when it's so deserved, but a tiny part of me wanted to hold out so this place doesn't get too popular! Wow. We love Afghan food and this place is amazing. The Qabli Pulao was out of this world. The meat was fresh and tender and the rice was perfect, fluffy, incredible. The chicken kabob was also amazing. Even the SALAD was dressed perfectly. 🤌🏼🤌🏼 This is our pla favorite, favorite find!
The food was decent but not as good as people have described it. The service needs serious improvement. Too much socialization by staff and little customer service. We had to wait to get acknowledged for seating, and then had wait for someone to clean up the table. Then waited for someone to take order . The Afghan Ice cream lacked flavor and rose water.
Lamb karahi was good. Lamb seekh boti was ok not the way we wanted. Sitting area is very small so expect 30+min wait on weekends.
Food is excellent, no doubt. But the staff is discriminatory... We noticed this right away. They give priority to Afghanistans over other nationalities. For example, we noticed right away that people that arrived long after we did got there received their food first and we were still waiting. They let other Afghan customers use the other restroom for employees ONLY when the 1 customer restroom was occupied. I asked for the pitcher of water to be refilled, the server said yes but ONLY served the other tables and never came back to bring us more water. If you're Afghan, you get treated like royalty, if not... You will get treated very poorly, almost like they don't welcome you there. Just very poor, discrimatory service, but food is just very good. Sometimes, having poor service won't bring you back into the restaurant.

The service is extremely slow, they can’t handle multiple orders at once, and it takes hours to prepare the food. If you call ahead, the food is often cold by the time you get it. On top of that, the prices are high for what you get. Food tastes good tho but wait time, service, price , overall, it’s not worth it.
Poor Cleanliness Unfortunately, this restaurant was not clean. The tables and especially the plastic chairs were visibly dirty and clearly not properly cleaned. It was uncomfortable to sit and eat in this environment. Cleanliness is a basic expectation for any restaurant, and this place needs serious improvement
The customer service is horrible…unfortunately most of my Afghan stores are like that…I hope we can learn to provide good customer service…the food is great but the management is awful. The reason I’m giving 1 star is due to their customer service. Another Big issue…they don’t offer lunch until 12pm but opening hours starts at 11am. I went there twice for lunch but couldn’t get food unfortunately.
I do not recommend this restaurant. First not healthy food. Second very poor customer service. I believe they sells foods left over from a few days. And also very expensive.
Extremely disappointing experience. The staff showed clear bias against women — we sat there ignored while they rushed to serve tables with men. We had ordered our food an hour earlier over the phone, yet no one bothered to assist us. The place was also dirty and poorly managed. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
This restaurant started out with great food and service, and I used to enjoy coming here. In the beginning, their Qabili Palau and kabobs were flavorful, well-prepared, and worth the visit. Unfortunately, the quality has dropped a lot lately. The Qabili is now oily, and the meat isn’t tender the way it used to be. The kabobs are often burned, cut into smaller pieces, yet the prices keep going up. On top of that, the service has gone downhill. Instead of being served at your table, you now have to go to the counter and ask someone to take your order. The restroom is dirty, which shows a lack of care for cleanliness. Even the tea, which used to be a nice touch, has become disappointing—no longer brewed properly, just cheap tea bags tossed in without much effort. Overall, prices have gone up while food quality and service have gone down. It’s disappointing to see a place with such potential fall off like this.
I Swear I don’t want to gave any business a negative reviews, but our recent experience at Kunduz Kabab was extremely disappointing. My family and I went there for dinner and ordered 6 kababs, 1 bolani, and a Watani burger for my son. We were told the food would take about 40 minutes due to the crowd, which we understood and accepted. After waiting, the bolani was brought out, but we found hair inside I didn’t want to have a argument, which was very upsetting and unacceptable. When the kababs arrived, only 4 were served instead of the 6 we ordered, and they were missing the salad and hot sauce. The salad arrived very late, after we had already finished eating, which felt careless and disrespectful. To make matters worse, when we received the bill, we discovered that we were charged for all 6 kababs, even though only 4 were provided. Between the cleanliness issue, incorrect order, delayed service, and unfair billing, this experience was frustrating and disappointing. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their service.
I was one of the 4 people in restaurant, the qabuli palau was the worst kind. Meat was cold, there was at least 100ml oil in my plate, not enough salad for group of four. Dirty tea pot was provided, Not recommending this place to anyone who wants to not get sick.
We were 4 people, and I had my guests with me whom I had invited. The Kabuli palaw was cold and was looking like it was cooked couple days ago, and the meat under the rice was extremely cold and the inner parts of the meat was frozen. I have stopped going there anymore.
I wouldn’t recommend Kunduz Restaurant based on my recent experience. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was disappointing. The shank meat tasted like frozen depot meat and lacked the authentic flavor of real shank pulao. Although they call it “Kunduz Pulao,” it didn’t match the traditional taste at all. We drove almost 80 miles hoping for a good meal, but it ended up being a waste of time and money.
I used to really like this place, but my recent visit was very disappointing. I waited over an hour just for a kebab, and even after the long wait, it wasn’t cooked well and didn’t taste like it used to. The quality of the food has gone down a lot. The restaurant also didn’t feel clean the floor and tables were dirty and it seemed like people who knew the staff were being served before others. Overall, not a good experience, and I hope management improves the food, service, and cleanliness.
This place is not worth the visit. If you don’t want your good dining mood ruined, avoid coming here. The atmosphere and service have always been disappointing, but at least the food used to be good when the restaurant was new. Unfortunately, the quality has declined — poor service(rude customerservice), questionable sanitation, and food(polov rice) that looks old, oily, and reheated. This wasn't the first-time anyways. Never giving them my business again.

I really used to like this place, but the experience I had today at Kunduz Kebab was very bad, and I will not be going back again. I would like to share my experience with you About twenty minutes before arriving at the restaurant, I called and placed my order. When I arrived, I saw that the table was dirty. After about ten minutes, one of the staff members came and only partially cleaned the table. After half hour, our food was brought out. We ordered kebabs, but when they arrived, the kebabs were cold. There was no salt or pepper on the table, and the soda I had ordered was also missing. I told the staff four times, but no one paid attention and nothing was brought. I personally went to the cashier twice to remind them, and they said they would bring the salt, pepper, and sodas right away. In the end, we ate our food anyway, but it felt like the staff simply were not listening and did not hear anything we were saying
I was really disappointed with the qabuli at Kunduz Kabab Restaurant. The rice was dry and had no real flavor, and the meat was tough and not cooked well. Qabuli is supposed to be rich and fragrant, but this one tasted very plain and rushed. For the price, I expected much better quality and taste. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t order the qabuli here again.
