We discovered this restaurant by chance last summer and returned several times during our stay. This year, on our way back from Tuscany, we couldn't resist stopping for lunch. What can I say...the food is excellent! Mohamed, the chef, is a true seafood connoisseur; everything is incredibly fresh and cooked with skill and love. The welcome and service are also excellent; Adrian in the dining room is professional and friendly. The quality/price ratio is excellent, considering the generous portions. Incredibly delicious, fresh fish. We ordered practically everything on the menu by the portion size and tried it. There were five of us, and the bill came to 309 euros for food, two bottles of Prosecco, water, and coffee. It was more than perfect considering the location on the waterfront with a sea view. We were seated right away without having to order. The waiters were very polite and courteous, and the wait for our food was quick. Special thanks to the chef, he has a gift for creating superb dishes with impeccable flavor. I highly recommend him.

I happened upon this restaurant by chance with my two dogs...great welcome, they brought us a bag with dog biscuits and bags...I ate some ravioli filled with fish, excellent, on the walk by the sea...absolutely recommended for the service, the quality of the food...everything truly admirable...I will be back

We had dinner at this trattoria with a sea view! I have celiac disease and found the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs! We ordered traditional dishes and fish dishes, along with an exceptional bottle of wine! The fried fish was delicious and perfectly crispy, and the portions were generally generous and delicious! The fish was cooked impeccably and, when needed, extremely tender. The only flaw was the lack of a gluten-free dessert. I had an excellent seafood appetizer, where they provided me with two packets of gluten-free crackers. For the main course, baked fish with potatoes, olives (with the stones), and cherry tomatoes was a real treat, no problem. Everyone else was pleased with the quantity and quality of the fish. The dessert was much appreciated. Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant could be improved overall, as it's in a strategic location with a sea view. We'll be back. The quality/quantity/price ratio was absolutely right for a complete dinner of five fish dishes.

Wonderful evening. We're on the Chiavari seafront, so you can dine with the sound of the waves (and that's a great start). Fast and attentive service, the guy is incredibly kind. And the food is simply delicious! I had the seafood ravioli, but I also had the chance to try the spaghetti with clams... what can I say? SPECTACULAR! I highly recommend it; hurry over and try Trattoria da Renato!

My wife, my in-laws, and I stayed here for two days in a row because we had a wonderful time. If you truly want to eat quality food and seafood cooked with love, come to Renato's. The photos speak for themselves! A special mention to Chef Mohamed, a wonderful person as well as an excellent cook! Thank you for everything! Sunday, January 28, 2024. A sunny, warm day in Chiavari. We had planned lunch at Trattoria Renato, where we'd made reservations the night before. We are two adults and a dog. I won't dwell too much on the food, because it's excellent, and if you want to eat well, you can't go wrong here. I'll focus more on the atmosphere and the service. We come from Versilia, where at least half the population lives off tourism and hospitality, but just an hour from home is enough to understand that they have a lot to learn. We were treated as a customer should be treated: polite, friendly, and happy that we came. Our dog was immediately given water, and they gave us a little something. Throughout the lunch, there were smiles and perfect manners. Even when I asked for a candle on the dessert, they obliged immediately...even singing "Happy Birthday." Overall, I recommend them and thank them.

Just one word: TOP!!! Easter lunch for the whole family (9 people): amazing fish ravioli, incredibly delicious fried fish, a fantastic mixed seafood appetizer... All this wasn't new, but repeating its greatness isn't something everyone can do. EXCEPTIONAL!!!!

We seldomly go back to the same restaurant but this restaurant was one of the exceptions. Very fresh ingredients which make this place standout. We loved everything we ordered during our two visits.

We had dinner for two, ordering spaghetti allo scoglio and asking for garlic not to be included. They assured us it wasn't present, but when it came to serving they corrected the situation, saying it could be contained in the seasoning. The dish was ready, cooked, and eaten, out of politeness... For the main course, a mixed grill served with the cold first course, and to finish, a delicious grilled sea bream. They didn't have any special side dishes other than salad and French fries. The dishes are more than generous. I recommend less quantity but more attention to service and quality.

If I'd been prepared, I would have searched for a restaurant by reading reviews and making a reservation. But since I was improvising, the better and cheaper restaurants were already full. So I ended up at Renato's by chance. It's a small place with limited seating. The location isn't particularly impressive, especially the outdoor area, but during the day and with a sea view, it's a whole different story. The bathroom is small but clean. The menu is basic with limited choices, the prices are high, and you definitely won't be satisfied with just a first or second course because the portions are so slim, even if beautifully presented. Ligurian-style fish with too much oil. I'd say there's much better.

Waiter was very unfriendly. Waited 10 minutes for service. (Restaurant was empty) We've been there with 2 vegetarian people (not much vegetarian food there). Didnt ordered something. We left after 15 minutes. Waiter followed us back on the street and was very rude. Do not recommend this location.
