A place you don't stumble upon by chance, but it's definitely worth a visit! You'll be greeted with excellent, welcoming service throughout your meal. The dishes are traditional, but revisited with innovative, superior-quality ingredients. Recommended for both couples and groups of friends.
La Buga: an enchanting seafood culinary experience "I had the pleasure of dining this evening at La Buga restaurant, a true culinary gem in Chiavari, and I was enchanted. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, thanks to the owners, wonderful and passionate people who make you feel right at home. The real star is the food: incredibly fresh fish, cooked with skill and respect. The salmon carpaccio was simply sublime, delicate and flavorful, a perfect appetizer. The baked sea bass was tender and succulent, a true triumph of flavors, while the mixed fried fish was crispy and light, an explosion of flavor. Each dish is a journey into the heart of the sea. The service is impeccable, attentive and thoughtful, without ever being intrusive. The owners are always ready to offer advice and share the history of the dishes, conveying their passion for cooking. The quality of the food is excellent and the price-quality ratio is fair. La Buga is a must-try restaurant for those who love fresh fish and authentic cuisine. Thank you so much for treating us to the Calvados tour! 😜 Recommended, and I'll definitely be back.
Had the pleasure of eating here tonight, was very pleasantly surprised by the portion size of the dishes and the food was absolutely delicious. Can highly recommend if you like seafood.
Excellen seafood from fresh products, and very friendly service! One of the best restaurants in Chiavari, we have returned here after a couple of yeras and always impressed by the quality of food!
Wonderful restaurant! Great location, delicious food, fair prices, friendly and polite staff, wonderful service and great choice. We were several times düring our vacation there and food and service were always outstanding!

Great seafood and fish dishes. Best fish I have ever eaten. Would have liked to taste the risotto but it needs to be order way in advance.

After failing to book a few times we finally managed to find a table off season. Had a very nice lunch In the little outdoor area. The menu was rich but simple at the same time. Same goes with the…
Selected restaurant based on reviews. Some of the dishes on the menu weren't available (pasta with clams 😳), so if you offer a menu, you have to include the dishes offered. We ordered excellent calamari, purple taglioni with shrimp tartare, monkfish, and mixed fried fish. All good, perhaps a little salty for me, but the mixed fried fish. I recommend trying it. Cost about €30 per person, excluding wine.

The service was very pleasant. The waiter was super patient and explained everything calmly. However, I didn't think the prices were worth it (€25 per dish, €40 for one person). They wouldn't let us sit inside, even though there were several empty tables (I noticed this because I went to the bathroom twice), and the dishes got cold in minutes because we were outside (the temperature that day was good and sunny, but the tables are in the shade and windy; we went in April 2023). It might be worthwhile for those who really like seafood, as there aren't many options for those just accompanying friends. I thought it was out of place not to have many Italian desserts, like Tiramisu or Panna Cotta, but to have Crème Brûlée.
The place is small, with a few outdoor tables. There are a few steps to get in at the front door. The inside of the place was slightly ventilated, probably to ensure air circulation. I personally felt fine, but some guests felt cold. We each ordered two dishes, a first course, a second course, or a few appetizers and a first course, with dessert at the end. The octopus they serve as an appetizer was delicious, one of the best dishes in the place! The bruschetta tasted good, but the bread was somewhere between crunchy and soggy; it wasn't the right consistency for bruschetta. The peppered mussels were really good, and the sauce they served with had a nice flavor, too. Honestly, no one liked the cuttlefish with herbs; you couldn't taste it at all. The paccheri with clams and squid were good. I didn't like the spaghetti with clams; they had so much sauce at the bottom that they almost tasted like broth. The fried shrimp and squid were good. The crème brulee wasn't made very well; the part that should be crystallized on the surface was only slightly so. Personally, I think it's a nice little place that could do better. On our visit, the dish that really stood out to me and that I'll never forget was the octopus on creamed potatoes with Taggiasca olives; it was amazing! After eating an appetizer of this caliber, I would have expected the other dishes to be similar. The prices are medium-high, and the portions are normal and not generous. If you like spicy food, they don't have it here; even adding chili pepper doesn't taste good (and these are strictly personal preferences). In my opinion, I didn't have a bad experience, but I'll definitely go to other places where I'm more comfortable. I'd like to applaud the waiter who served us; he was professional and friendly, making us feel at ease the entire time.
I hated it. Never in my whole life saw people more disrespectful. Dont go.The woman has bad manners and an awful attitude.
Avoid this racist place. They had 4 empty tables. We asked if we could sit. After asking if we were Italian, and learning we aren't, we were told that there's no space either now or later. As we were walking away, an Italian couple was seated after confirming they have no reservation.
