This food was so good! We got the sandwiches, and the chicken was juicy and tender. Like holy pickles this was a great sandwich, popping with flavor and heat. The comeback sauce is where it’s at. Fries were good and the mac was great. Can’t wait to come back.

I love coming here. The staff is great especially the owner and her son. Always so welcoming. The food is like no other. One of the best stops in Orange County.

We love having our events catered by BredHot! Laura and Scott go above and beyond with their great customer service and the hot chicken is out of this world! And, it is close to South Coast Plaza at the Lab. If you haven't tried it yet...run, don't walk over and br amazed!

Fire chicken sandwich and sauces. Potato salad also good and sweet tea is a bit sweet but tastes kinda unique. The spicy sauce has a good kick. definitely coming back here!!!

This place opens until 12. I always get the tenders in medium with comeback sauce and fries. If you like dill the house made ranch has a more dilly taste than other places, I like it but I know some folks don’t. The staff is always nice and they make food to order, guaranteed hot food at your table.

The best hot Chicken sandwich I've ever had. The spicy chicken is actually spicy 🔥. The chicken was a huge piece of very juicy and perfectly seasoned white meat. Everything was delicious. The dipping sauces were also superb. We will definitely be back.

I was told this place was better than Howlin Rays and I will say it does NOT disappoint… This might be my favorite hot chicken in all of OC/LA now. The food here never disappoints. Stopped in for some loaded fries and some waffles and had a great meal. The employees went above and beyond, super friendly, and the lady working front of house was hustling her butt off serving, cleaning, greeting, and even doing stuff in the kitchen. We left totally satisfied, stuffed, and thinking about our next order.

From the owners (Laura and Bred) to the food, 10/10 all around. My wife and I love food and we share the best experiences with our friends and loved ones. Bred Hot Chicken is a must have!

I've ordered here a couple times and the food is amazing. Customer service is always on point and like I say the sliders are so delicious. I've always ordered the 10 sliders trays for mini get together and is always a hit.

Breds was pretty good ! Reminded me of Dave's hot, but they had their own style. Loaded fries are perfect to share for 2 & the tender sliders. It can get a bit messy so be ready ! Mild was just right but if you like a bit of spice order a side of spicy sauce or get medium. Friday around 1ish is a great time to go since it was empty & after theunch rush. Strawberry lemonade to wash it all down.

A friend picked up my meal for me because I was too lazy to walk from the Hilton Costa Mesa for the dance convention but apparently it’s right across the street at the Anti Mall! I got the kids meal 2 piece chicken tenders with waffle fries and it lasted me two meals through the weekend of dancing.

I have to say I’m impressed with how nice the staff is as well as how good the food looks and smells. I haven’t had a chance to taste my order yet, but I’m sure it’s pretty great overall it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely come back for more. It’s Ramadan, so I’m waiting till sunset until I can eat my meal, but boy does it have me hungry and excited.

The sliders are exceptionally large, offering generous portion sizes and an outstanding flavor profile. I would definitely consider a return visit.

The truck was at Downtown Disney the other night and I was very glad I gave it a shot. Nashville Chicken sandwiches are great when done right and one of my favorite meals. This one did not disappoint! Portions were generous and because I was sharing I had to get mild (not everyone can take the heat) but habanero is my preference. I can't gauge the temperature since mild is well... Mild. But the chicken, let me tell you that was some of the thickness, all white meat, juicy and tender to perfection. The bread at bred was absolutely delicious as well. Slaw was a perfect balance to to chicken. Non intrusive and gave just the right compliment to the chicken and bread. I'd say this place is now second only to Howling Ray's.

The food in this place is super tasty. I like the look of place as well. My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed the food throughly. As always it is always an adventure and a game of patience to find a parking spot at the lab, and the fact that the restroom is located at the very back of the place is a minus at the location, but not a deal breaker. Just a nuisance.

Chicken sandwiches is just my thing. I try them at every restaurant I go to and in my opinion this is the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. I get the ghost pepper one and the seasoning is perfect. The serving sizes are gigantic I get the two sliders and can only finish one slider with the great seasoned fries. Throw in it’s under 20.00 you can’t beat it. Always look forward to the second serving that night. So happy they just opened one in San Juan so I can enjoy them more often. I literally would drive the 45 minutes to get to the one in Santa Ana it’s that good. Staff always friendly and facility always clean and well organized. 5 stars isn’t enough for this sandwich

My first visit. I had a mild hot chicken sandwich with fries. I added some hot sauce. The fries were hot and crispy…very good. The chicken in the sandwich was very moist and fresh. The coating was crispy and tasty. As you can tell, I will be going back, or maybe ordering out.

First of all I want to share that I know of breds since there beginning stage were they had a little cooking van and they would post in instagram where they would pop up. The owners worked so hard every time that I would go I would see them and they would recognize me I would see them at festivals, church, apartments, and me and my husband would drive to them because that’s how good the food and service is! The service is excellent every time I go there a genuine smile annd greeting. They always ask if I need anything else, I love it!! it’s always a pleasure to see them. All I know is that the food is excellent and the service is exceptional!! 10/10 would always recommend to anyone and everyone!!!! But overall Shout out to the cook his wife and there daughter!!!!! They make this place enjoyable there the heart of the restaurant !!!

One of my favorite hot chicken spots, and I love that it’s close to me in Costa Mesa. The only other spot I’ve had in SoCal that compares is Howlin Ray’s. The fried chicken here is always perfectly moist and crispy. If you like spicy, their spicy comeback sauce and anything past hot heat level goes crazy.

Yes, this was a first time suggestion from my daughter. The customer service from Khlo (apologies if name is incorrect), the food/drinks, also atmosphere “vibing”, was “Top Tier”. This food is worth the drive. We were both oh so pleased with our first, but not last experience with “Bred Hot Chicken “. I would recommend to any of my family, friends, and strangers. I know when I visit the area, you will see me there. I request Google to correct the rating to “5-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”. It is was deserved.

This was my first time at Bred’s Hot chicken. I immediately noticed that everyone had smiling faces. One of the staff helped me place my order through the computer. My car upon driving home smelt of this wonderful aroma of Fried chicken. I had spicy chicken. The taste was wonderful. The chicken was extremely tender, along with the slaw and the toasted bread. Fantastic.

I love Bred Hot! When I lived close by, I would eat Bred Hot at least once a week. The chicken is delicious and I like getting it spicy. I also enjoy their waffles and their syrup is good. Their sauce goes very well with the chicken. And I love that you can see them making the food by hand. Cutting the coating and drying the chicken, making waffle batter and pouring it in the waffle iron. Toasting bread. Etc. The staff always greet me with a smile and some of them know my name. :)

From the moment you walk in, you can tell these guys are serious about flavor. The smell alone is enough to make you hungry, and once you take that first bite game over. The chicken is perfectly crispy, juicy inside, and the heat levels are spot on. You can taste that it’s cooked with care, not just thrown together like some of the other spots trying to ride the hot chicken trend.

Wow!!! The only thing is that I wish I lived closer so I could come more often!! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We tried their “hot” sandwich, wish was super delicious but pretty spicy. Me and my husband shared and he loves spicy. I was tearing up a little while eating but so worth it. Then we shared their loaded fries “medium” heat and that was more to my spice level and still amazing. We will have to come back when we visit again.

Bred Hot is such a nice surprise for the food scene over here. I think they’re so much better than Dave’s Hot or Cane’s. Bred Hot’s tenders are almost always juicy and their bread is simple and delicious. I genuinely thought the Texas toast from Canes would be my preferred but as a meal, tenders, fries, and toast from Bred Hot just makes so much sense ✨

First time tonight trying their chicken burger and waffles (all ordered separately)! The burger was perfect and delicious. I know of only one other place in the world that does their waffles PERFECTLY along with their chicken perfectly (each and every time too), and these waffles were just that!! Next time I come, I'll try it again as the main entree and try it together.

This chicken sandwich was AMAZING! The chicken well seasoned and spiced. The bread perfect. The fries were wonderfully crisp on the outside and fluffy in the inside. The vibe in the restaurant was awesome. I would add a picture, but I was too into my food. I'll definitely be making this a regular spot.

Bred Hot Chicken is outstanding. The chicken is consistently juicy, flavorful, and the spice levels are actually dialed in perfectly not just heat for the sake of heat. The sides are fresh, the portions are generous, and everything comes out hot. The staff is friendly and the service is quick, even when they’re busy. The quality here is on another level compared to other chicken spots. Easily one of my go-to places and absolutely worth the visit every time.

The spice is perfectly balanced hot, but not overpowering, and each bite is packed with bold flavors. The crispy skin and tender meat inside are a match made in heaven. If you’re a spice lover, the “Bred Hot” level is a must-try, but they have a range of heat levels to suit anyone’s tolerance.

We ate here and tried the spicy and medium tenders, both delicious but the best part of the visit was the service, Jose was so nice and helpful. He made sure everyone was taken care of and was constantly busy. He definitely made the experience a 10/10

¡Qué restaurante de pollo tan maravilloso! Las chicas que atendían esa noche fueron muy amables y respondieron a todas mis preguntas. Creo que se llamaba Laura, incluso salió al estacionamiento y me avisó que mi pedido estaba listo; fue muy amable. El restaurante está limpio y bien decorado. Pedí un poco de todo para probar y la comida estuvo simplemente maravillosa. El sándwich de pollo es enorme. Incluso saqué uno de los trozos de pollo para comer al día siguiente. En la foto se ve el sándwich a medio comer, que solo lleva la mitad del pollo que viene porque era demasiado. El sándwich de queso a la plancha estaba magnífico y no escatimaron en queso. Los macarrones con queso Millionaire estaban increíbles. La ensalada de papa estaba buena; la ensalada de papa normal no estaba nada mal. Creo que el único inconveniente que noté fue que son una tienda de Pepsi, no de Coca-Cola, jaja. Les doy un 10 sobre 10 por su excelente actitud, servicio y comida.

First Time here—hard place to find. It’s walk up order—kiosk or possible counter if someone’s available. I got the Chicken Tenders Meal—comes with toast and one dipping sauce (any extra sauce is charged and they said it’s different charge for different sauces). Tenders are HUGE and good—I got medium spice —they said it’s with cayenne. I got the Vinegar Slaw for $1.49 extra—see the small container in photos—it’s OK—don’t recommend. Hot Honey Sauce was OK—just honey with red pepper flakes added…The house sauce (Come Back Sauce) was tasty. Jose was friendly and helpful in getting my order. Thank you Jose! I took my food into the small mall area next door and sat in the courtyard—much better than the small inside seating at the restaurant with LOUD Club Music (love that music, just not when in a small place trying to eat). They have two levels of Spicy above medium-so if you want spicy chicken—def give this place a try. Meat is fresh and tasty.

OMG! Now this was the best chicken and waffle I've ever had!!! The waffle was slightly sweet with a delicate crunch on the outside and so soft and perfect on the inside. No need for syrup unless you want to! It comes with two pieces of chicken and the four pieces of the fluffy waffle. I had no idea how big the chicken was, so I added and additional piece for $4 extra, which I didn't need and couldn't finish. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and again large pieces, crispy on the outside and juicy and tender in the inside!

My favorite place for hot chicken. My only issue is if they are selling halal chicken then they shouldn’t be selling alcohol. It just contradicts the whole halal thing and makes me feel uncomfortable.

This is the newest addition to The LAB after another fried chicken place (in the same location!) closed. I tried the chicken tenders, fries, and mac n cheese. The fries are crinkle fries, which are my personal favorite so I loved them. I also loved the super creamy mac n cheese. The chicken itself was good but not great and the spicy is on the more mild side so you might want to go up a level from your usual. The ranch and comeback sauce were okay, I've had much better (shout out to Cluck Kitchen). The LAB can be difficult to park in during dinnertime, so I recommend going slightly before that time or plan to circle the parking lot. Overall good food, but not my top hot chicken in OC.

Came in hungry on a lonesome Thursday evening, a spicy sandwich might bring me some company. Two automated kiosks were there to greet me, okay, let’s make this impersonal… Hmm, the cheapest entree (two chicken strips) is about $11. Loner table facing the glass and away from the TV, cool. Why does it seem so crowded even when it’s empty. Music is loud. Alright, table is clean, but floor is sticky, hmm. Wow, service was fast though. Too fast? Damn, that chicken dripping with gritty oil. Call the TSA these strips need a pat down. Not dry inside though, that’s not bad. Still this medium spicy needs flavor and the sauce is not bringing it. No self serve hot sauce huh.

Chicken had a great texture but was kinda bland. The waffles were a big disappointment, very underdone, flimsy, did not taste fresh. Also, $15 for just two tenders and a few waffle slices. Although, props to the service, they were excellent. He gave me an extra tender for it being close to the end of the night and was super nice.

My partner and I tried this place for the first time—the order kiosk messed up our order and doubled my partner’s order and deleted mine and we didn’t know until receiving the food. When brought to the employee’s attention, they did replace the food with the correct order but we were made to feel as though we had ordered wrong and almost felt as though we were being scolded and blamed for the computer’s mistake. Despite the food being very good and high quality, the customer service made us not really want to return.

Uneatable and complete letdown. I had high hopes and craving a chicken sandwich but not one thing down to the raw pink chicken sliders to the “service”. The empty restaurant at 11 pm on Saturday night should have been a red flag. Over $50 later for a meal that couldn’t eat and cold fries, sad.

The staff seems to be forced to work. They swear, act insultingly, and especially the girl with glasses at the cash register is very unnecessary and ridiculous. She acts as if she is forced to work. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

A mixed experience at best. Coming in at $24.07 before tip, these two small sliders, a small portion of fries, and sauces are egregiously overpriced. Each sauce is $1.29, so it cost $6.45 for two comeback, two ranch, and one honey. Yikes! The fries were not great, and cost $2.45. You’d find comparable at Wendy’s or McDonalds. The star of the meal — the sliders — performed as expected. $13 or so. Nice crispy chicken and buns…though the slaw was still dripping from the storage container it had been dug out from. 😕 In summary: over priced, while under-performed. Try elsewhere.

We came here because our usual chicken place was closed, first impression is that the menu is not to clear, you order at a kiosk, i had to ask for help from the person working there several times but still was a bit confused. I wish the workers were more helpful. The prices are a little higher than similar spots. The food, what can i say, the chicken has no flavor, the sauce is bland, i will not be coming back but at-least we gave it a shot.

Chicken was good. The drinks weren't the Arnold palmer was bitter. I asked for a different drink the guy just handed me a cup. Then I got a Gatorade cause is the only good drink in the fountain. It tasted to watered down and the water tasted unfiltered as in bathroom sink tap water. Then I got potatoe salad witj my sandwich cause i didn't want more fried food on top of my chicken and the potato salad was just bland. No flavor, just 1/5. Lastly i ordered the spicy cheesy sauce. It was a small container with melted cheese. Not spicy or flavored, just some melted cheese with no flavor again. I walked out regretting paying almost 50 bucks for that food.

Lunch review, I ordered big o sandwich, mild level, bread is plain white bread... meh. Chicken breading is ok nothing special, at minimum chicken was juicy. Vinegar slaw is just ok you can hardly taste it, pickles are just right, sauce is weak reminds me of a plain thousand island... I highly doubt I'll be back, price for a sandwich is 15 no fries, no drink, definitely never again. Cluck kitchen in Irvine has bigger and better sandwich for 13... sorry not sorry...
