Exceptional snorkel experience. The crew was communicative, informative and sensitive to needs. The 3 snorkel spots were all excellent and we always felt safe. Very good value for the price
The most AMAZING tour!! It's hard to chose one but we're so glad we chose the guys. Gustavo, José and Rodrigo are amazing and for the price it's so cheap! You can buy on viator or cheaper at the stand as you come off the ferry. We saw turtles, star fish and so many fish! They take professional photos and videos, we had the best time!
Just returned from an unforgettable private snorkeling tour in Cozumel with Maybe Tours, and WOW—what an experience! Huge shoutout to Alex, Jonathan, and our talented cameraman Jose for making this adventure absolutely incredible! 🌊🐠 Our family of four spent nearly four hours exploring the breathtaking reefs, and we were blown away by the vibrant marine life and stunning corals. Alex and Jonathan were phenomenal guides—knowledgeable, patient, and fun. They made sure we felt safe and comfortable while showing us the hidden gems of Cozumel’s underwater world. Jose captured the magic perfectly, so we can relive the adventure whenever we want. From colorful fish to amazing coral formations, this trip was everything we hoped for and more. If you’re looking for a personalized, unforgettable snorkeling experience in Cozumel, Maybe Tours is the way to go. Highly recommend them for anyone seeking a day full of fun, discovery, and world-class hospitality! 🌴✨
We did the four stop snorkeling tours through maybe tours. It was wonderful as we saw everything from stingrays, lobsters, jellyfish, fish, sea turtles and a shark. The last stop was a lovely beach where you’re waist deep and get served a snack and drinks. The overall experience was fantastic as we had Carlos who was able to answer all of our questions. There are a couple of things you should know before you book, you’re a 4 minute can drive away from the cruise terminals and you should plan to wait for taxis to show up to take you back afterwards. There is a very kind lady who is a private photographer on the boats who uses a go pro to take photos and videos of you but she isn’t with the company and your tips / payment don’t go towards hence the photo package at the end of the tour. You may wait around a little at the beginning of the tour as they count there reservations and separate the boats and groups up.
My family had a great snorkel tour with Maybe Tours today. Saw turtles, rays, and all kinds of marine life. Whole boat staff was great but Alejandro (Alex) was awesome !!!! He even went out of his way to pick us up at our Airbnb to take us to the marina the tour left from as he was going to be in the area that morning. Talk about going above and beyond !!! If you're looking for a great 4 stop snorkel tour, use Maybe Tours, you won't be disappointed !!!
Highly recommend taking their snorkel tour. We felt extremely safe and well prepared as it was our first time snorkelling. We saw turtles, stingrays, lobsters and plenty of starfish. The team also went above and beyond with helping us with an issue we had with our car rental company. And to top it off we had great guacamole as a snack!

Perfecto!
Excelente
Buen trato y buena organización
Great snorkeling trip! Three spots each different. First one was deeper with many large tropical fish, second shallower with starfish on sandy bottom, third standing on sandy bottom with numerous large stingray. Water was incredibly clear for our trip and much nicer than what I was expecting for Cozumel. Swimming required as the boat follows along and you exit the water down current. Stay close to Paulino, the friendly guide. Marina is a short distance (~1 mile) from the cruise terminal so perfect for a 1/2 day shore excursion.
What an amazing tour we had! We did the 3 reefs boat tour with drinks and snorkelling. It was fantastically organised and we saw everything we wanted too. Reef. Coral. Starfish. Fish. Stingray. We had a blast. The crew were friendly and made sure we had a great time and were always safe.
Very good experience honestly and such amazing customer service. Carlos was a great captain. We will be back hopefully soon. Thank you again for your attention and kindness.
I would 100% book this trip again. We went to multiple spots and saw so many fish, Rays, nurse sharks (docile), starfish bigger than my head, and more. Tons of flora and fauna. Miguel and Julio were amazing guides. The snack was delicious and so fresh. It was a $10 cab ride from the cruise port.
Thank you for an unforgettable snorkeling trip! Our guide was always looking out for our safety and the safety of the reef. We went to four different spots and saw so many colourful fish, barracudas, starfish, stingrays, a sea turtle... the water was unbelievably clear and blue. Highly recommend :)
We stupidly didn’t book a trip in Cozumel in advance and just decided 1hr after arriving in the port on our cruise that we wanted to go on a trip. We contacted these guys and they were very helpful indicating how to get to their office. The crew of the boat were very friendly and respectful of the environment informing us that we couldn’t put on sun lotion as it would damage the reef. The boat itself was shaded so that was no problem. On the first stop we saw a few turtles and barracuda and plenty of other fish. The second stop we saw many stingray and a large lobster. The guide in the water was great (I can’t recall his name) but he seemed to be genuinely enjoying seeing the fish himself and communicated really well with us. He also respected the fish and reprimanded a snorkeller from another trip for poking a stingray with a stick which I was happy to see. The stop at the beach was beautiful. Yes it’s overcrowded with lots of people but we parked at the edge so it was quiet. We had stingray swimming inches away from us. Amazing. The snack of ceviche wasn’t to my taste but it was nice to try something local. Local beers and soda was also included. Life jackets were offered and they even insisted we use for the first stop to ensure we were comfortable in the water before we removed them. I would highly recommend the trip. If I could offer one room for improvement, transport to and from the ferry terminal should be included to save the $30+ round trip in taxis. Uber/Lyft is not available and I absolutely hate dealing with taxi people so that would improve the experience a lot for me! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and was so glad we went
My husband, nine year old, and myself went on this tour earlier this week. It was a top notch experience from beginning to end! Our guides, Carlos and Christian, were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our captain, William, did a great job of getting us to the different sites. My son was nervous at first when getting in the water and Carlos did a great job of pulling him around by the life ring and talking him into building up his confidence until he was ready to let go of the ring and snorkel without it. Christian took some amazing photos, including getting my son down into the water near a starfish and grabbing some shots. After 3 stops, we then went over to El Cielito and waded around near the boat while eating freshly prepared ceviche and having rays swimming around us. I’m not a seafood fan personally and I throughly enjoyed the ceviche. The picture package they offer at the end is 100% worth it in my opinion, it is around $125. We had an issue with our credit card being accepted, but thankfully got Apple Pay to go through. I would bring cash for it as a backup. Overall, an overwhelmingly amazing experience and one we will repeat if/when we return to Cozumel!
Would recommend this snorkel tour to anyone visiting Cozumel. Compadre Ricardo was an excellent guide, showing us around world class reefs with ease. We saw eagle rays, sea turtles, lobsters, nurse sharks, and countless species of fish within 30 minutes of being in the water. Fresh ceviche y cervezas at Cielo sandbar was the perfect way to finish off the day as well. You can’t get this type of snorkeling from the shore- book the tour!
Great and professional experience with maybe tours. We booked a snorkeling session through get your guide and it was well organized and incredibly fun. I was concerned about punctuality as I am on the tight schedule of a royal Caribbean cruise, but everything was very smooth. Recommended!
Nothing to complain about. The guide and capitán took us the locations they promised and were constantly pointing out fish for us to see and trying to make the most out of our experience. We saw starfish, variety of fish, stingrays, a sea turtle, and a barracuda! At the end of the tour we stopped at el cielo where we enjoyed some guacamole and chips along with some cold beers. I would definitely go back!
Loved our snorkeling experience with Jose, Fernando, & the Captain on the Xtup. Stopped at 4 amazing places all with different sea life making 4 unique experiences. Saw tons of fish, star fish, sea turtles, and even a nurse shark. Swimming with stingrays was the best! The guides were terrific & were able to speak English. They were very kind to the kids as well but made it super fun for us adults too. Would definitely go again!
Highly recommend! They were very accommodating for our family, with 4 kids ages 2 years - 11 years old. Got some really good photos with Star fish, stingrays, sea turtles, and other marine life. Stopped for lunch Caribbean style and had stingrays swimming at our feet while we ate! Such an awesome experience!
What a trip. I have despised the idea of hopping on one of these boats for years but the wife wanted to do it so I signed off on the experience to see some new stuff (our 10th trip to Cozumel). I could not have been more wrong. Or rather, the guides at Maybe Tours covered all the concerns I'd had. I won't make a big speech here, we do a YouTube channel (just search my name) and we did a whole, in-depth video on this trip so if you want more i sight check that out and feel free to comment, I'll answer. Man it was something. So happy with these guys. Absolutely worth the money and yes, we will be returning and going right back to these guys.
The tour today was nice and we saw a turtle, stingrays, etc, but: The tour advertised as 4 hours long actually lasted 3 hours and 10 min. The snorkeling stops should have been longer. The boat is very small, no bathroom available.
Highly recommend their Cozumel snorkeling trip. Our guides were amazing. Joel/Jo is excellent!! My husband couldn't swim and it was first my time snorkeling but their entire team was very considerate and helpful. They always kept cheering us up. My husband was able to see various marine life and even a baby shark because of them. In the end, they served us drinks and food in the water, which was very good. Only reason I am taking out one star from their review is because even though they advertise that the transportation to and from the Cozumel ferry to the marina is included, it is not. The cab driver charged us $8 USD for two.
The tour is great, once you arrive at the port you’ll need a taxi to reach the starting point of the actual boat tour. We got the chance to see tons of sea creatures included a sea turtle! Great experience, I would only suggest to bring your own snorkeling gear as those they lend you are not the best!
We had a great time. The staff was joyous and knowledgeable. They took their job seriously. They did a good job keeping everyone safe. There were a little bit more people on the boat than we would have liked, but it didn’t really affect much. We saw lots of different kinds of fish and coral, a sea turtle up close, enormous star fish and many sting rays and a barracuda all on our one trip. They served us yummy snacks and plenty of drinks. (Water, tequila, and beer - They had drinks for non alcohol drinkers too). We were not aware that they did not include pictures which was disappointing, but we stayed in the moment and enjoyed every bit of the day anyway. It was the most fun we had on our stay here in Cozumel.
I don’t understand why they have bad ratings. Everything was great. The guide and captain were kind, and we snorkeled at four spots. They provided beer, drinks, and ceviche, and didn’t pressure us for tips. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was no pickup service—I had to walk an hour from the ferry terminal.
We did the snorkel tour yesterday. Although the weather was not great, guide Daniel made the best out of the tour. The four stops are great. Daniel is a knowledgeable and responsible guide. Only the asking for tips at the end was a little bit too intrusive to my taste. That’s why four starts stars instead of five.
This is one of the cheaper tours and you get what you pay. We did visit the 4 sites and saw lots of marine life including nurse sharks, turtles etc. The tour was shorter than 4 hours in that they were 20-30 min late and we got dropped of a bit earlier. It was pretty packed on the boat with close to 15-20 people. Snorkelling equipment was very basic and cheap but luckily we brought our own. No fins provided for anyone but guide and photographer had fins. Each stop was a bit of a rush and felt a bit harassed by photographer who was quite intrusive with taking pictures and often interrupted us whilst we were exploring - felt like we were there for pictures rather than seeing wildlife. Pictures were later offered for USD85 which we declined as that's pretty steep! There were drinks and a nice ceviche and fruit offered. A bit surprised that leftovers was thrown into the sea including onions and lime juice which I don't think is part of the marine life's natural diet! Staff were nice and one lady got really sea sick and they did look after her well. The captain was very good and on it in many ways. Towards the end of one of the first stops when most folks were back on the boat someone spotted a turtle but the guide wanted us to move on - the captain stopped and let us all jump in again. Photographer was happy as that meant more photo opportunities for her : )! At the end of the tour I felt quite sea sick too and she wanted me to look at the photos, I said I couldn't as would feel sick and she said there wouldn't be any other time otherwise. Captain intervened and asked her to leave me alone and let me look at pics later. This is a cheap tour so it's good to manage your expectations.
Tour guide was nice. But the tour started 30 min late and got us back an hour late and we missed our ferry back to Cozumel. Also they said it would be 40 min of boating to the first snorkeling site and it was more like 70 min. The trip was half just boating to/from the site which was a little disappointing.
Nous avons réservé l'excursion via get your guide.
Tour started an hour late and stopped to pick up people. Felt rushed at the reefs and too much time spent at the last stop with the sting rays. The guide also nudged a small nurse shark with his snorkel, causing it to retreat and hide. I don't like the idea of the animals being interfered with. Fish were excellent so the actual snorkelling is great but just choose another company if you don't want to be annoyed. By the time you get to Cozumel, get to the marina and then back to PDC it's a long day for maybe 1 hr of time on the reef
Good tour, we were lucky with the weather. Very disappointing however to see the photograph feed the fish to take better photos, for which then they charge 25USD each. This is not good practice for the wildlife, and moreover takes the experience away from you, as all the fish stays close to the photographer, and none around you.
While the tour guide and captain were great, the whole experience unfortunately was not. We waited almost 50 minutes for a group to show up which put us way behind schedule. I often wonder how long this company would have waited for these people to show up. As a result the entire trip felt rushed. There were 3 snorkel stops and each was so short, maybe about 15 minutes or so. The tour guide was also constantly having everyone be so close together. While i get the importance of staying together, it felt like we were all piled together which creates for an annoying experience when fins are kicking you in the face and every time you turn around someone else is literally right there. We stopped at a beach area for the last 30 minutes. While it was nice and we got a tasty and fresh snack, I didn't pay to sit at a beach. That time should have been spent at the snorkel stops. That was kind of disappointing. Unfortunately I don't think I would recommend this tour agency to anyone based on my experience
We had a group of 5. 4 of which had never snorkled. They offered no assistance to the 1st timers, there was no assistance getting in/out of the boat. The staff that was in the water with us, only focused on one young (attractive) girl the entire time. The captain actually clipped me with the boat ladder while I was in the water! The equipment wasn't clean and they offered no flippers the entire trip. The first stop the water was very choppy and was an issue for the 1st time people, they struggled. The last of 4 stops was nice, waist deep and they offered snacks and beverages. Overall, compared to the many other snorkeling trips I've been on, I felt it was pretty unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend, especially if you have no experience.
Guide was a bit too fast and it was hard to keep close to him in the water. Tour felt rushed (we went to 4 reefs). Boat was so tiny with about 10 people crammed together. The boat departs from a dock about 20-min drive away and we didnt know that but at least the taxi ride was included. The reefs were quite nice and overall, so a decent experience. We paid about $80 CAD per person and I think for a little more $$ we could've taken a nice catamaran. What I really didn't like was how many times he encouraged us to tip. He even joked that we won't get our shoes back from them without a tip. It was awkward. He even clarified that 20 pesos is just $1 so we should be mindful (of not leaving too small a tip).
Terrible service for an eyewash. They take you to two locations at the reefs. Although interesting, both were rather deep, and there was not much to see, except that I liked the area with the starfish. You are clumped together with the rest of the people in your group while snorkeling and keep bumping each other. The moment you try to swim a few meters away to explore around, the staff call you back. The beach they take you to is very beautiful with clear water and peaceful stingrays swimming around you. Here, the staff gather you around a small floaty with beers and snacks on it. You just stand in the sea and chat with people for an hour, drinking beer etc. around the floaty. The entire experience was like being in a kindergarten. It seems like the staff don't want you to explore around and just want to get over with it after a couple of quick trips. I swam around the boat instead of joining the rest of the people, and boy, were the staff on their edge! I saw a starfish and wanted to ask them whether it was dead. Suddenly, they started angrily yelling at me. Turns out, the place is a national park, and I was not supposed to touch anything. Well, say that in advance so that I would know! The photographer kept touching anything he saw at the reefs, but suddenly he was the guardian of the beaches and I was a pest! I felt like they just wanted to milk tourists and get over with it as soon as possible. They show you a couple of places around the corner, treat you like little kids in a kindergarten, and want to control your every move. They lack civilized manners and do everything as if they are doing you a favor, while the fact is that you pay for everything. There is no point of going to those places if I am not allowed to explore around. I would rather go to an aquarium and leave your beautiful island to yourselves and my money to myself. You can't have both.
Not professional. The conversation between USD dollars and MXC pesos was wrong, and in their favor. When they made them aware, they told us that we had to pay in USD dollar (!) if we wanted to stuck to 11 USD for the taxes. I persistent found this behavior nor professional
Do not book! We had bad weather the day we went which is not their fault, however, “plan B” was not great. We went to 3 different places to snorkel but it was all the same. You have to pay for a taxi AND to get into the marine park. They refunded part of our money but we still paid to get into a marine park that we didn’t get to go to. They took advantage of us not knowing what the heck was going on. I could go on and on but the best thing to do is just book with someone else.
We had a very serious safety crisis on our trip where everyone was forced to abandon the boat because it was sinking due to being overloaded with passengers. The passengers were then left to float in a very busy boating channel with a strong current taking us away with no safety provisions. Once the boat driver (30 minutes)got his pump to start pumping water out they reloaded us and were able to get us within 100 yards of a beach where we then had to take our stuff and wade to shore and then they took off. No idea where we were on the island. The lack of regard for safety was incredible and we had children and one adult who could not swim and left very traumatized by the situation. If you value your life and your families dont use this group.
I would advise against booking with this company if you're Latino/Hispanic. Our experience was incredibly disappointing and left us feeling treated as second-class citizens. We arrived about 30 minutes early for our trip and checked in, only to later receive an email saying they were waiting for us and had already left without us. Meanwhile, others were boarding nice boats, while we were taken to a separate dock with an old, unattractive boat, nothing like the ones the other guests had. Other Hispanics in our group voiced the same concerns. To make matters worse, while out on the water, the captain embarrassed me in front of everyone by accusing me of not paying for the trip, even though the company had refunded my initial payment after I had filed a complaint. He even asked if I planned to continue the trip or if he should drop me off at the nearest beach. This humiliating experience completely ruined the outing for me, especially with my two autistic children in tow. After paying the $240 that was later refunded, I was forced to pay even more, $260+. Not only did I have to pay more, but I also endured harassment and embarrassment. It felt like the company treated us differently because of our ethnicity. If you're Mexican or Hispanic, I highly recommend you avoid this company, as they clearly cater to white customers and make you feel unimportant. I can't believe I experienced this kind of treatment in my own country.
Pay close attention to the name of this company. MAYBE you get the tour you paid for MAYBE you don't. We booked a catamaran tour and came all the way over from Playa Del Carmen by ferry, 40 minutes each way and the cost of the ferry for 4 people. Then we had to pay for a taxi to get to the Marina which was 15 minutes away by car from the ferry port. When we got there for our tour, they said, "Sorry, it's cancelled!" The reason they cancelled it is because the captain didn't want to take just 4 people out. They couldn't have figured that out ahead of time!? We waisted an entire day on our vacation when we could have planned another tour! DO NOT book this company, you will regret it, MAYBE.
Maybe. The name says it all. Maybe you'll get 15 minutes at each "reef," or maybe not. Maybe the guide will keep track of everyone in the water, or maybe not. Maybe your guide will be professional, or maybe not. Maybe they'll be sure to have enough fuel on board to get back to the marina, or maybe not. I've done a fair amount of snorkeling and diving around the world and this is the worst company I've ever seen. Their gear is junk, the captain and guide were unprofessional and seemed disinterested in safety and service. When it came time to eat, they took us to a sand bar, made us get of the boat in chest deep water, put a bowl of chips and some ceviche on a life preserver and floated it out in our general direction. Our girls got cold after a while and wanted to get back on the boat, but they wouldn't let them. The whole day felt like a grift. I think we're very lucky no one had any problems because they were not equipped or qualified to handle anything. And yes, we nearly ran out of gas on the way back to the marina. 1 star is generous.
We had the unfortunate experience of booking in February of 2026. These tours are poorly organized. They claim to take you to 4 different locations, but it's actually 2 locations where you swim to 3 locations at the first stop. They also take lots of pictures and sell them to you for $80. They also ask for a tip. We almost missed our cruise ship because they allowed a party to board that had NOT paid, then we made an unplanned 30 minute stop at the resort the unpaid couple were staying at so they could run inside and grab their credit card. This help up the entire tour and they were the only party that was not on the cruise ship and should have deboarded LAST, instead of making all the cruise ship folks late. They feed you as well. The gentleman prepping the food was licking his fingers and chopping the entire way. Leftovers were dumped into the ocean. LEARN FROM OUR EXPERIENCE AND AVOID THEM.
The office staff were kind… But on the ship, they were not. There was very little shaded area on the ship… it was terrible and honestly pathetic. They didn’t even allow us to apply sunscreen on our children because they said we were polluting the environment 😀 — meanwhile fuel was leaking from the ship 😆😆. I do not recommend this to anyone!!!
Me he sentido estafado.
Unsafe and Poorly Managed Snorkeling Tour – Avoid This snorkeling tour was disorganized and unsafe as well as clearly overbooked. We were scheduled to depart at 10:00 AM but did not leave until 11:00 AM. It appears our 10am tour was overbooked, and we were placed on a much smaller boat than other groups, with little to no shade. We spent more than two hours traveling during the hottest part of the day, including unnecessary stops to pick up two other passengers in another port. The most serious issue was safety. No proper life vests were provided—only floating rescue blocks—despite snorkeling in deep water with strong currents. This is extremely dangerous, especially for children and inexperienced swimmers, which we had many. We were the only tour without life vests; all others clearly had them. The reef areas were overcrowded, and I was struck by a boat and had to be rescued by another tourist to avoid being run over. Instructions were rushed, and staff treated guests disrespectfully. Refreshments were poor, and on the return trip a crew member aggressively pressured passengers to drink tequila from the same bottle, yelling at those who declined. There was a clear difference between our tour and others in terms of equipment, guide experience, boat quality, and reef access. I strongly recommend avoiding this tour and choosing a catamaran instead somewhere else for a safer and more enjoyable experience. One of the worst excursions we’ve ever experienced – avoid at all costs. The entire experience was chaotic, uncomfortable, and far below any acceptable standard of safety or professionalism. Guide : Guia Lazarito ; captain : Roger We were crammed onto a tiny, noisy boat with 12 passengers and 2 crew members — 14 people in total. The boat was clearly overloaded: we saw the safety label on board, which listed a maximum weight capacity of 1,300 lbs (under 600 kg). That is far less than the total weight of 14 adults with equipment. This alone raises serious safety concerns. Life jackets were available, but everything else felt careless. There was no proper briefing, no clear safety instructions, and no real supervision during the snorkeling stops. Each snorkeling session lasted just a few rushed minutes. With strong currents, lots of boats around, and no guidance, we never felt safe in the water. Even worse, two of the snorkeling stops was done in open water during a tropical storm, with thunder, pouring rain, and reduced visibility. We were in the water with zero visibility and lightning around us — it was completely irresponsible and terrifying. The crew didn’t seem to take the situation seriously at all. The snorkeling gear consisted only of masks and snorkels, both in terrible condition — leaky masks, foggy lenses, unhygienic snorkels. No fins were provided. The snorkeling spots themselves were overcrowded and disappointing, with murky water, very few fish, and no turtles (which can happen, of course, but it’s heavily advertised in their marketing). As for logistics: we were told to meet “at the Cozumel ferry terminal” 15 minutes before the tour, but no one was there to greet us, and no transportation was included to get to their agency. We had to figure it out on our own. Once at the agency, we found there were no changing rooms or facilities, neither before nor after the tour — a complete lack of basic comfort. The only enjoyable part was the stop at El Cielito, a stunning shallow sandbank with turquoise waters where we got to see beautiful rays swimming around us. It was truly picturesque — but not nearly enough to save the overall experience. It was also at El Cielito that ceviche and drinks were served. Sadly, the ceviche was bland, the beer was cheap, and the juice was overly sweet — again, a clear sign of cutting corners. And finally, the worst part: the guide, Guia Lazarito, aggressively pressured everyone for tips, for both himself and the captain. He insisted openly and repeatedly, even telling some guests to go to the port to withdraw cash. When we gave what we believed was a fair tip, his behavior changed completely — he turned cold and dismissive, clearly unhappy. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. A tourist trap, not a proper guided tour. For your safety and sanity, stay far away.
We went on a 4-hour snorkeling excursion as part of our 7-day cruise. While our guide Angus was friendly and informative, the overall experience was awful—especially due to the captain, Philly (or Fily), who was completely unfriendly, stiff, and silent the entire time. Our group of 10 joined another family of 4. It took nearly an hour just to get to the snorkeling location. Once there, instead of staying close to the swimmers for safety, the captain drove the boat far from the group and remained distant the whole time, which made us feel unsafe and frustrated. I even voiced my frustration loudly, but he never acknowledged it. To make matters worse, the equipment provided was poor quality. My son’s goggles were loose and ended up falling off in the water. The captain then said he couldn’t get closer to the group or he’d be fined—something that should have been explained beforehand. We had just snorkeled in Honduras, where the captain was involved, supportive, and close by—such a contrast to this! Our guide was busy snorkeling on his own, wandering away from the group while taking pictures. There were 3 quick stops (about 15 minutes each). At one, they served us ceviche—but the portion was tiny and clearly not enough for 14 people. The drinks included cheap beer, water, and sodas—not impressive. At the end, they asked for tips and even tried to charge us 500 pesos ($25) for the goggles my son lost—even though the goggles were theirs and clearly defective. This excursion was overpriced and poorly executed. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company for snorkeling in Cozumel.
A Big Disappointment Despite a Stunning Natural Setting We booked what was supposed to be a 4-hour excursion, but it only lasted 3 hours. The guide accompanying us was not friendly or engaging at all, it felt like he was just there to get the job done as quickly as possible, with no effort to share information or make the experience enjoyable. Everything felt rushed, and there was no time to truly appreciate anything. Luckily, we didn’t stick too close to the group, which allowed us to spot a number of marine species, including sea turtles, something the rest of the group completely missed because they were moving too fast. At one point, a woman in our group accidentally kicked a turtle that was surfacing, and the guide didn’t even notice. He seemed completely inattentive when it actually mattered, yet was overly strict when it came to pushing the pace. After about 30 minutes of actual exploration, we were taken to a shallow sandbar with about 50 cm of water, surrounded by loud party boats blasting music. We were left there for an entire hour, doing nothing. This is not what we paid for, we expected a wildlife-focused experience with coral and marine life, not to stand around on a crowded sandbar. The guide provided no explanations or information about the environment or the species we saw. The only real highlight was the stingrays that came close, drawn in by food thrown from the nearby boats. That was the only truly memorable part of the trip. As for the snack: it was a tiny portion of ceviche meant to be shared between two people, and the drinks were honestly awful. We returned to the port an hour early, which just added to the sense that this excursion was not worth what we paid. To top it all off, the guide put serious pressure on everyone for tips. He told us outright that he didn’t have a salary and stood over each person with a tip box, insisting not only that we tip, but also specifying the minimum amount. We normally always tip, even without being asked, but this was completely inappropriate and uncomfortable. In short, the natural environment was beautiful, but that had nothing to do with the service or the organization of the tour. It could have been an amazing experience, but it was completely ruined by poor management and an unprofessional guide.
