We've been here twice, and this place hasn't failed yet. The ambiance is amazing - the decor and setting all scream classy and traditional. The service is polite and prompt, and we got checked on. They give you fresh warm chips + salsa with unlimited refills to start. The first time we got the family style fajitas with a few friends of ours, and it's an amazing deal. Sizzling hot meat on warming platters and a constellation of great sides. We had a great time together and the restaurant made it even better. The second time we got the weekday lunch buffet, which had some great options as far as tacos, mains, and desserts go. Plenty of great food to go around, and what a deal! We were stuffed with some great food. We tried most things and particularly liked their carnitas, the beef stew, the corn mash, and their flan. Highly recommend!

It's been 30+ years.... But. I've only been to El Torito once but it was the one of the best nights of my life. I'm from out of town and I was visiting a local lady who was a regular there and we had a great dinner and evening. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was very good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was casually elegant. I remember the front entrance in the lobby area being very nice, just an overall great experience.

El Torito in Cypress, CA is a great place for a date night, family dinner or to hang out with friends and watch a game. They have great happy hour specials and the food is always good. Their chips and salsa are great and that is one of the ways I judge a Mexican restaurant. If the chips and salsa aren't good, you lost me, but El Torito's are always good. Also, they have a cantina with plenty of televisions so you can watch several games at once. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Just want to say I had a very different experience at this location. I’ve been to many restaurants, and all have been nice, attentive, and sometimes friendly, but at this location, I had one of the best. Eddie was the one that helped me that night. He was very helpful, and recommended some items from the menu. I wasn’t sure on what to order, and he immediately asked what I liked, what I was in the mood for, and even what drinks were my favorite. I really liked his attention to every single detail. I would really recommend him, and this place for your next visit. If you’re not sure on where to go for a date night, or even a day to relax by yourself and enjoy good food, El Torito in Cypress is your to go place, and Eddie is the server/bartender to ask for!!!!

Man I went in this restaurant to relax after shopping in Costco on Katella. Service was the best food 2as even better!! As I walked in I noticed all the food around ...they have a happy hour there. I .missed it by a few minutes but they offer to reopen for me but I chose to catch it next time. I ordered chicken nachos and it was so big and good I ate off of it the next day...its enough to share with a friend 🧡 I will be going back.

We love El Torritos food!! Everything they serve is delicious! My daughter can not come to town without orering the chivken tostada salad, i absolutely love the carne asada burrito. We were sad not to see the soup and salad combo, it is literally my favorite food!! The waitor said if I wanted the soup and sald combo I had to get the lunch buffet. The buffet does not have chicken tortilla soup. They have Menudo and a chili. The server never once came to see if we needed refills on our iced tea, but the table across from us where the gentleman had the lunch buffet and alcohol had his complete attention! The table behind us had a man and woman seated, he had the lunch buffet she ordered from the menu. When the server brought the check, the man paid it without a tip. The server stopped the man and mentioned he overlooked the tip. The customer responded that the tip was a gratuity for good service and that they had been overlooked the entire 45 minutes they were there. The server said something about it bring customary for the customer to leave at least a 20% tip. The customer told the server he'd keep that in mind for the next time. The server continued to badger him.for a tip until he reached into his pocket and pulled out a single dollar bill. I have never experienced such rude behavior from a server at this El Torrito. It was sad and disappointing. (Ive never been served by this man before. We used to come here a lot, but i recently moved. We usually have an older broad looking gentlman. An sometimes a woman. This guy was tall and skinny.)

If you haven't been here for happy hour you are missing out! My fave is the queso dip and white wine. Two glasses and queso for 13 bucks!! Amazing salsa and chips! The bartenders are so sweet. I love Samuel! Definitely come check it out!!

Came in for a Saturday family brunch and was surprised to find a full buffet that included "American" style breakfast items along with traditional Mexican foods. All were fantastic and our whole family found something they loved. The service was also great!

6/11/2025 = 5 Star = 1st time in this Location . I tried their Brunch Buffet, it's Just okey , I give 5 star coz its noy bad for a price i think. i do notice is even your not ready for bill , they will put it on the table even it's not busy . I would maybe try again next time .

In town for work I am staying next door to this restaurant and went In for some dinner and holy hell. The salsa you get is like a punch in the face spicy but man it’s so good. Then there is the food. My god, the burrito was absolutely fantastic, went back last night and had the other burrito it was okay but not as good as the other one (lots of onions and well I hate onions) The only down side was the service was crazy slow on the 2ed visit here but the first and 3ed were amazing. My server the first and third night was Alfredo, he was fantastic. Over all 5 stars but the service could be better. But don’t let slow service stop you from going here. The food is top notch. UPDATE. Was in town for a week and ate here 5 days in a row. Yes it is that good. Alfredo was my server for most of the visits. He was fantastic, even gave him some Canadian Chocolate for his wife and kids. I wish there was Mexican food like this near me.

My first time in this restaurant,i was testing a lunch buffet 😋..Very nice variety of meat,hand made tortillas, salads, deserts..You can't really beat this price,great deal! The only thing i didn't like so much,is that they are actually making you a plate,as you don't have a direct access to the food and serving station..I prefer to make my own plate,but it doesn't really matter,absolutely not a deal breaker..Staff amazing and very kind! I had a great lunch,and will be back for sure 😀..

I've posted my review before, but today's is much better! Food was 👍 We came for Happy Hour and had the Beef Birria Tacos 🌮 They were delicious! Plate came with 3 tacos that were a bit bigger than street tacos, some lettuce and pickled onions 🌰 and awesome sauce. Our server, Jeremy was amazing. So on top of it! He brought our food and drinks 🍸 out right away. And water 💧 was always full. He brought me a small taste of corn 🌽 cake at no extra charge. It was a very busy Tuesday night in the bar area too. We will definitely be back again!

Service with any kind of an attitude never sits well with me. Young people without patience or etiquette should not be working a counter. We are not all locals. My family enjoys trying new eateries. It is the total experience. This place was picked from a Google search. Unfortunately for me, it was a total fail. The place was empty upon arrival. There was no rush pressure. We ordered several different items. Food was lacking in flavor such as the Mac n cheese. My dish Japanese Pan udon noodles with plant bases chicken came half full. Very little ( maybe a total of 2 dry nuggets cut up) of the add on. Very disappointing. The place needs to look up what a "Cesar salad" should have in it. They serve spring bitters, no romaine or hearty lettuce. Over all this was not worth the time or money. The best thing going is nice take out chopsticks. I can not recommend this establishment.

Maybe I’m missing something, but the Spaghetti and Meatballs was awful—especially the meatballs. On top of that, the Garden Grove location felt dirty. The seats were stained, and the floor clearly hadn’t been cleaned. I don't recommend this place at all.

I came to this location for the first time and while I had just paid for my food another item caught my attention so i asked the guy who was taking my order if I can order one more thing and the guy was STRESSED AND VIVIDLY UPSET. While I can understand that being a bother to some people I didn’t think a person who GOT PAID TO TAKE ORDERS would be so angry at me for asking for one more thing. It was beyond uncomfortable I wasn’t rude because maybe this person had a mental disorder that I was unaware of but at the end of the day people who get angry at customers shouldn’t be in working in customer service. Sorry the young man who was working the cash register was so kind and polite. This is by far one of the worst El Toritos I’ve been to. I had reservations for 6pm I even called to confirm 2 hours prior because we were a party of 11. We didn’t get seated until 6:45. The managers excuse was that their reservation system was at fault. Once seated we were put with a very slow waitress, she was unable to keep up with her tables. We had to help her with our drinks and plates. We waited another 45 min for food. The food was decent. One complaint with food is we ordered the $30 fajitas and it was mediocre and the portion size was bad. I’m not sure if this location was under staffed or poorly managed. But we were not satisfied. I do not recommend this place on a weekend especially evening.
