⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My husband ordered the 3 fillets, and I had the combo with shrimp, fillets, oysters, fries, and hush puppies on the side — everything was absolutely delicious! The seafood was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The hush puppies were golden and crispy, and the fries paired perfectly with the meal. The restaurant itself is very clean, and the staff is friendly, welcoming, and full of great energy. The lemonade tasted fresh with a refreshing, almost organic flavor — such a nice touch! And I can’t forget the coconut cream pie — mouthwatering, creamy, and absolutely yummy, yummy! It was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. We truly enjoyed our experience and highly recommend this restaurant. We’ll definitely be back!
Great spot for oysters. Service was wonderful and the food was top notch. This is a busy place and stays full of guests.
My old man has been coming here for 25 plus years! I myself 18. We love it. Even though seafood is me least favorite food, I still love it. The people the vibe is just relaxing. I usually get catfish but today I had their hamburger! It was really good. Side of okra. Yum. My husband had what he always gets Crab legs shrimp potatoes and corn. The staff are the best! Y’all need merchandise! Shirts hats etc
They are very professional and courteous. The cashier was very friendly and smiled which is a plus.
We enjoy eating here and we're nearby during an early dinner and dropped in. While it may seem like a long line, the staff are efficient at moving the line along quickly. Ordering us easy as the menu is easy to read on the board. We always enjoy the catfish, shrimp, and grilled vegetables. They keep the tables cleared and clean. Parking can be tricky, but we were able to find a spot within a few minutes of waiting. There is outdoor seating with heaters for winter.
This place is awesome. I was tentative to try it b it drove by all the time and my boyfriend raves about it. I finally gave in and I am hooked! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. I love the decor. The fish tacos are so good. The hook salad with tilapia is my healthier go-to but add fries and grilled vegetables. Their squash and zucchini is seasoned soooo well. Also love their key lime pie.
We found this place a few months ago, and have been coming back at least twice a week ever since. Food is perfect every time, fresh, and consistent. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. Staff is friendly, the outdoor seating allows you to enjoy the beautiful Dallas weather. If you’re ever close, you have to get the catfish and hush puppies.
This place has character! At first glance you may pass on it, but it's worth stopping in! I was in Dallas for a work conference and passed this leaving the airport, our Uber driver recommended it. We went back the next day for dinner and it was great! The staff there is very friendly! The only fried fish that they have is catfish but there are a few other options if you choose grilled fish.
It's as if you just stepped off the fishing boat right onto the dock-- greeted by the sound of deep fryers crackling, and the voices of friends chatting. This is fish and chips at its best. Many choices here with an easy to follow menu. Burgers and wings served too. Many thanks to the locals who referred us.
We happen upon this adorable restaurant when we were exploring Dallas. I’m in East coaster so I love my seafood and I am very critical. This was delicious and I loved that the batter didn’t have MSG and you could get it without seasoning. I had the shrimp and it was delicious. my son had the fish fillet and it was so well priced. We spent $22 and had two lunches. You order at the counter just like we do back east at the fish shops, and it had the hustle and bustle of a back east fish eatery. Not fancy, but full of locals which is a great sign!
Ordered the whole catfish 1lb fried pickles and a coke. All were excellent the delivery was nice and easy and not confusing. The atmosphere is a nice mix of hearing cooking food, people talking, dishes being collected it’s a friendly and warming environment to eat in would come every day.
I love the coastal ambiance here; it's incredibly laid-back and cool. The fact that you can place your order at the counter and they bring your food to you adds to the charm. I opted for the breaded fried filet and shrimp, and while it was almost not seasoned at all, I believe they did it to let the fish's natural flavors shine. Although, I did find myself craving a bit more salt. Thankfully, they provided an ample supply of tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, hot sauces, and salt and pepper. The hush puppies were amazing though For dessert, I indulged in the coconut pie and chocolate pie, and both were incredibly delicious. They weren't overly sweet but had fantastic flavors. I'm definitely planning to return and sample some of their other dishes.

Every thing was perfect for a holiday treat, the fish is always crispy and hot French fries plenty full and tartare sauce delicious
A Lyft driver recommended the gumbo here. While it was good the steamed seafood basket was better. Free parking and service with a smile!

Great spot in uptown Dallas when you’re craving oysters, buffalo wings, tacos and real Tex Mex food. Came here on the old trolley car from downtown where we were staying. It’s a no-frills place with …
It’s definitely a hidden jewel in oak lawn. The catfish and fries are worth trying! Nice views of downtown Dallas and city lights. The food is very delicious! The only downfall is the limited seating they have and the service. Well I didn’t receive the best service. They took almost while to take my order so I stood at the counter for the longest. The guy taking orders cared more to deliver food to tables than to take my order. Then when my food was ready I had to go to the counter and get it myself. Almost everyone in the place got their food delivered to their table but I did not. Rather than that it is definitely worth trying and I will definitely be a regular here!
Living near this area and patronizing local businesses, this spot was on my list to try. Deciding to do exactly that on this evening with a lite crowd ordering was a breeze. Food came out fresh, hot, and very nicely presented. A very good serving worth the price. I think I'm hooked on this place. The only con was the tea. It was very weak in flavor.
I’ve been here a few times, and I think the location of this place gives it a great advantage. The food is okay, and the ambiance isn’t bad. However, I don’t think there’s anything particularly special about the restaurant—just sharing my honest opinion. We were a group of four people who stopped by, and the service was fast. The restaurant was a bit quiet that day.
HLS has been around for decades!! It is a decent spot to grab a quick bite of seafood. The entrees are cooked to order. Surprisingly, the Cole slaw is my favorite item!! The food is not highly seas…

The atmosphere and the service here is really good. I didn't have a single issue with anything besides the quality of the food. I had the four jumbo shrimp with the two fillets and a side order of fried okra. They asked if I wanted it seasoned when I ordered. I told them yes. The food was so lightly seasoned that they could have just skipped asking me that question. The food was extremely bland. I had to ask twice for them to add seasoning. The fish taste like it had been frozen then thawed out in water for hours. There was absolutely no flavor to it. I had to drown everything in hot sauce. The best part of the meal was the hush puppies. Those were amazing.
I am sorry to say, after almost 20yrs as a quick lunch go to, it's food, service, and atmosphere has a bit to brush up on! I hope they are able to with stand this time test.

The fried fish and shrimp was bad, the batter was not crunchy and the fries were hard. This was the worst fish I have ever had!!!\n\nThe 1 star needs a ( - ) in front of it..

The decor here is great. I followed a happy hour sign in because the char-grilled oysters and the low-country calamari looked amazing. 6:05. "Happy hour is 3-6." I said, "That's okay. Charge me more. Take my money." "The system won't let me put it in. You can only get oysters fried or raw." ...Or not at all? Rigid thinking. I got the fish tacos, which were pretty, but unremarkable and too spicy for my taste. Slaw was meh, as were the beans. The waitress forgot my drink. You need to order and tip before being seated. I want to like this place, but just can't.
