These are not my best pictures and won’t be my last. Fish and shrimp was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 along with there signature sauce. Very good spot if you want some hot fresh fish. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for some home style fried catfish. I’m sure their other food is delicious this is just the first time visiting. Check them out 4sho👌🏾💯
Great atmosphere. Very kind employees. The food and options are fantastic. Even gave me some gumbo just to try. It was also awesome. Very good prices for the quality you’re getting as well.
Love the catfish nuggets, fries and hush puppies! Excellent food and customer service. Been there several times with fast friendly service done with a smile! They will not disappoint! Reasonably priced.
We got 2 family bundles as carry out and thought it was good value and good food. The fish was a hit, delicious and well-seasoned. The chicken was really good too, but needed a bit more seasoning. The sides were a bit on the smaller side, but overall very happy we tried this place! The ladies at the counter were prompt, polite, and were helping customers quickly.
I visited with my entire family, and everyone absolutely loved the food! The catfish and chicken were as amazing as always, and the desserts were a hit — especially the Dubai Strawberry Cup and the banana pudding. We’ll definitely be coming back..
The food is delicious. Great service. The staff is so friendly and treats you with respect. When you walk in you can feel a very nice atmosphere and you feel welcomed. They have everything you would want and the fish is amazing here.
🌟🌟This place does some excellent food! 🌟🌟 Tried several items,but the shrimp, oysters, fried green tomatoes & RED BEANS/RICE were absolutely delicious! The seasoning levels were on point & amazing. But those red beans & rice.... they could anchor the restaurant on their own! So smoky, savory & satisfying! If you like fish🐟🍤 & are anywhere nearby, stop in & enjoy! I know you'll recommend it too!

We tried the catfish and chicken strips, and both were cooked perfectly — crispy, flavorful, and not greasy at all. The portions were generous and everything tasted fresh and seasoned just right. And don’t skip dessert — the apple pie was the perfect finish. Warm, comforting, and exactly what you want after a great meal. Friendly service, great food, and comfort-food done right. We’ll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu!
We've eaten here several times now and it's a great experience every time. It's a standalone building with ample parking, very easy to get in and out. The service is always super friendly and polite. The food quality is excellent, but I especially love the gumbo and their homemade desserts! The batter on the fried fish/chicken/shrimp is very delicious and always tastes very fresh. The prices are very affordable too. We'll gladly keep coming back here.
Amazing experience, it’s not very often that I leave a review, but this place was impressive. The lady who rang our order in was nice and quick. She explained the menu to us before we even sat down. Food came out quick, hot AND tasted amazing! Definitely recommend the fish and fried mushrooms
First time here & it was amazing. Everything was fresh & fairly quick to come out! If I lived in the area it’ll definitely be a staple for me & my family. What I had and would recommend is the catfish, chicken wings, shrimp, red beans & rice (no meat in those so vegetarians can eat!), hush puppies, French fries & coleslaw! 10/10
I rarely take the time to review things, but they have the BEST catfish nuggets EVER! Even the chicken melts in your mouth. Everything is made fresh, comes out piping hot, and portions are hefty. The owners are so kind and patient with our three young, chatty children. Mr. Golden is a family favorite! Highly recommend!
The food was delicious! The food was fries perfect and not greasy. Everyone loved the food , we had shrimp, crab cakes, tilapia, chicken and a burger ! The sides were perfect , cold slaw and red beans and rice. Then the dessert ! We had the carrot cake it was so good. Huge servings , we had to take home leftovers. So glad we stopped to eat here .
Love the fish and shrimp!!! Husband and I tried Mr Golden restaurant yesterday 10/4/2025 at the recommendation of a friend. We were pleasantly surprised at the crispness and taste of the fish. We tried various plates (2 fish 6 shrimp, 6 jumbo shrimp, 3 crab cakes, and wings). The shrimp were large and delicious. The green beans were very good. We liked it so, we ordered another 2 fish & shrimp plate to go for my mom. However, by the time she received it, the fish had softened (not crispy) but that was due to the heat and condensation during the drive. I would probably place a few holes in the container next time if placing a to go order and a long drive. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend Mr Golden fish chicken shrimp & more.
i got a cup of gumbo, red beans and rice, and some hushpuppies! everything was delicious. staff were very friendly, food was very fresh and hot, and decently priced.

All I can say is WOW! The food is wonderful. We had catfish, chicken and shrimp. Their homemade sauces are great! The owners making sure everything is to your satisfaction. Great experience!
Loved the food, the atmosphere is perfect for hanging out with friends. Highly recommend catfish nuggets and strawberry dubai cup, hands down the best dessert I’ve ever had, worth every penny I spent. The staff were awesome and so welcoming. It is a must visit!!!
Been looking for a new fish spot and safe to say I’ve found it. I was so surprised and pleased with the quality of the food. Not only is it affordable it’s DELICIOUS. I ordered the catfish, shrimp, gumbo, coleslaw, and green beans. Everything was hot and perfect. The ladies working in the store were super friendly and the sweet tea was 10/10. I Have already been back for a second time this week 😆.
Need a taste of Cajun but can't get south? Check this place out! Portions were generous, the food was made fresh and it was all delicious! I enjoyed the catfish, but the menu has a lot to offer, if seafood is not your thing. Support local!
When walking into the business I was kindly greeted by the workers. They made lots of great suggestions and helped guide us through their wide range of menu options. We ordered the Mr Golden’s Seafood Deluxe platter with 2 sides. The wait time to receive our food was decent and they brought out some really delicious homemade sauce (I believe it was called the Mr Golden Sauce) for our food. Overall the meal was very flavorful and seasoned well. The sauce kicked up the flavor even more. During the meal the employees checked up on us numerous times to see how we were doing and how we liked the food. Lastly, I feel this a nice staple for the Ofallon area and they will do very well, staying around for a while. I’ll definitely be back because the flavors were great & the service was fantastic.
Mr. Golden just opened, so we wanted to check it out. We loved it! We're looking forward to going again soon and bringing our friends. I had the oyster po'boy sandwich, which was excellent. The service was very considerate, polite, and accurate. The restaurant was very clean and simple, plenty of seating, bright and comfortable. Great southern / "Cajun" food from a family owned small business! (PS, whoever put in a review about them not answering the phone the day before opening...seriously!?!)
This place is amazing! Such wonderful food and the service was so incredible. You can tell how much they care about their customers. We had the fried green tomatoes which were huge! We got the fish combo special and it was all so great, I especially love their in house tartar sauce, will definitely be coming back.
We got the mr golden seafood mix special and fried green tomatoes (which were cooked perfectly). The mix has 2 PCs of fish, 3 PCs of shrimp, 2 PCs of chicken, 1 crab cake and 2 sides. Everything and I mean everything came out HOT AND FRESH! Fish in in cornmeal and delicious. Fish and shrimp is ina. Great batter that is crispy and delicious. Order at the counter, get your number and have a seat or get it to go. Give it a try and enjoy! Giving a 5 star review just to spite the Richard who gave a 1 star review because "they didn't answer their phone". I plan on going there today and I hear they have the best fish in the area. Can't wait to try. I'll update later once I'm full and happy
