I had the smoked bacon jalapeño blue cheese burger, it was incredible. I opted for the happy hour lager, Rolling Rock, served cold. Clean glass! Bartender was attentive. UPDATE 01.08.2025 I had the same burger (Jalapeno Smoked bacon blue cheese burger) and it was the same! Perfect! Ellie was the name of the cook.

All the bartenders are sweet and welcoming. Creating a lovely safe space for everyone to have fun. Security is on top of it. Fantastic atmosphere, and general vibe. Really enjoy it every time I go!

Cute little sports bar. They have on-stage karaoke on Tuesdays, and daily drink specials. The workers are all very nice, and accommodating. The cook even brought our food to our table to help when the bartender was busy, and he was kind too. Really enjoyed coming here during out stay in Davis

Cool bar with 4 pool tables, good bar staff, music and djs; cheap happy hour deals. The tri tip tacos could've had more flavor though. The meat wasn't well seasoned.

I can't speak to the restaurant part of G Street, but for Funk Nights on Wednesdays (2$ Vodka and Cranberries, 3$ Skittle Bombs, cheap Olympia and PBR pitchers) this is a really fun place to party. Lots of people, usually good music, lots of fun. There are two bars, so if the main one is packed, you can head to the small bar in the back.

I have spent a number of days visiting the G St. Wunderbar. Though it's main clientele are the students on weekend nights it offers plenty for the afterwork crowd. I find the menu is awesome. Auch die Jägermeister-Getränke und die Bierauswahl sind ausgezeichnet. 🍺🍻

Only complaint is that I wish the stalls locked better otherwise... Atmosphere: Good place for socializing. Good cocktails of variety for good prices. There is almost always something fun to do. They have dance nights, trivia, and karaoke. staff: V friendly bartenders. Tip them!! good bouncers to keep everyone safe. Seen them in action when a guy got too pushy with a girl. food: Only thing I have ate are the ribs but they were cheap and delicious. 3/$8

They’re bringing a Latin dance night back to Davis! It’s been missing since the grad closed down. The atmosphere was great - they played mostly bachata and salsa with some other things mixed in. The staff was all great, and gave the place a good vibe. It sounds like for now they are hosting it the first and third Monday of every month. They have a lesson at 8:30, but I haven’t been able to make it in time. Hopefully they keep it up, I’m excited to come back!

A good pub with good pub food at a fair price. The service is more in keeping with the college town bar, that it is. Staff keeps the music a bit too loud most of the time. They mean well, but are very young. On the other hand, they are great with kids, which is worth a lot.

We go here pretty often, usually for funk night. Drink specials are usually pretty good, but the staff isn't really friendly. Funk night DJ is lazy. He plays songs for too long, and often the songs are not remotely funk-y. He doesn't do mashups, and he doesn't take requests.

Actually not bad pretty good place, They had German beer although not a huge selection. Food was good was expecting a German restaurant "Wunderbar bar" The woman's restrooms was clean and neat as was the men's restroom. Service was good considering it was a bar , the place was quite busy. Watch the 49' niners and the Detroit Lions football game on a rather large TV screen. If you're in Davis and you're looking for a bar I would recommend this place.

Credit where it’s due: the bartender was very kind and refunded my money right away, which I appreciated. Based on the name, I expected at least some German-style beer or atmosphere, but that wasn’t really the case. I ordered the Märzen on tap, which unfortunately tasted sour and old, and at $10.92 for a pint, it felt especially disappointing. Notably, a couple of people at the bar were drinking bottled Coors, which seemed to reflect limited appeal of the draft selection at the time.

Really cool little spot but.... there is some really misogynistic patrons here it's kind of a bummer. they got pool tables in retro arcade games darts live music science lectures what but be prepared it's definitely bar food weirdest omelette I've ever had.

Place was alright until we got kicked out. It was my friend’s birthday, we were minding our business playing pool, buying round after round, and this young bouncer had a power trip, not even sure what excuse he gave for booting us to the curb.

bar staff was nice, but I came for the BBQ. It took 50 minutes to get 2 bbq sandwiches (to go) and I was in such a hurry to get home I didn't check the order and I did not get my baked beans or macaroni salad! Very disappointed, to say the least. BBQ was tasty but not worth a 50 minute wait, that's for sure. I won't be back.

Cheap drinks but don't come to try to play pool. Locals hold unofficial "tournaments" all night and control the tables. Really turns off anyone trying to have a relaxed fun night unless you are in the "club" and are here with their crew who takes over all 4 tables.

Service is awful. Avoid this place!!! Unless u like young white men telling u what to do. My husband and another couple were watching a game show today at the bar. It was enjoyable, so we asked the bartender, Eric T., if he could turn the sound up. He said, no, because he didn't like the host of the show. I commented that we all were all enjoying it, and wasnt it up the customers what we enjoyed, and not his personal preference? He then said that he could fix this "problem" and tried to change the channel to sports programming, which he failed to do. Anyway, my husband and i then left. Who needs to be treated like that? I tried several times to call and report what i consider to be horrible service to the manager/owner, but each time Eric T. Picked up the phone and refused to let me just call and leave a voice message. Ergo, this review.

I have been to the Wunderbar a few times and I had fun and would give it an overall 4 star review, if there wouldn't be the problem being double charged. I went out with a friend of mine, which was not noticed by the bartender for more than 30 minutes. He was too busy to have a shot or two with other customers. The same bartender tried to give me the wrong card with the wrong bill when I closed out my tap. After I told him it was not my card, he looked for the right one and still tried to bill the wrong check on my card. I told him it was not correct and he opened a new tap with the drinks I had so he could close it out. I signed the slip and even gave tip. Little did I know that he still had $50.07 billed to my card. This was December 10th, 2023, today is February 12th, 2024 and even though I went to the bar and called multiple times to speak to a manager or the owner, nobody got back with me to resolve this issue. If I could I would not give them any stars after this incident since there is no interest on the management side of the Wunderbar to provide adequate customer service. I assume they do not really care that I won't bring any business to them anymore but I want to warn other customers to check their bill before paying it or better do not pay with card at all. Really disappointed since the staff seemed to be great.

Let me start by saying this is the first time I have ever decided to dish up a bad review to a restaurant. Also let me state that I am fully sympathetic to the staffing shortages in so many places, especially restaurants these days. Tonight was a bad one for this place. We stopped here on our way home from the Bay Area, ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches from the menu and a couple beers. We waited over an hour for our food and the place was no where near busy. After a few inquires about “what’s up with the wait?” the poor bartender having to manage some hungry customers informed us he had to shut down the kitchen and assured us our food was coming out “right now”… 15 more minutes did produce food delivered to our table which was half the wrong order- this after 3-4 minutes was scooped back up from our table and delivered to another table and we were then pretty quickly after that delivered our other pulled pork sandwich and “here’s another beer”… no apology for the hour plus wait. Was our order scooped up from another table, then rerouted to us after sitting with other customers for a spell? What kind of second hand handling had gone on with these two orders??? I’m totally giving the bartender the benefit of the doubt here- he seemed like a good guy and he definitely had his hands full trying to juggle the bar and food orders and was likely pretty embarrassed over the whole scene that unfolded. I digress… One of our sandwiches was majority fat and inedible, sending it back was not an option at that point so we split the remaining food and left. So 1 star for this place tonight- knowing It had a problem and taking our order anyway or at least they should have let us know as we ordered, the wait would be long and let us decide if we were willing to wait it out or not. Seems Like this place has been around for a while in Davis…C’mon guys you can do better that what you offered These first time customers tonight.

The bouncers are very hostile, even as a sober young woman. The bathrooms are terrible and borderline make you feel unsafe, hygienic-wise and security-wise. It smells and the stalls always seem to have a broken latch. Someone gave me a drink that I didn’t realize was brought in from outside (they weren’t frisking patrons, so it was snuck inside I guess), which of course was confiscated as soon as I started drinking it. The bouncer said I had to leave, and when I tried to explain the situation he was very rude, raising his arms dramatically and telling me I broke the law (which again, I didn’t know). I had no qualms about getting the drink taken away, but forcing me out when I wasn’t drunk, belligerent, or intentionally breaking rules was extremely embarrassing and felt like overkill. The few times I’ve been here have been unspectacular, but this experience in conjunction with the constant, power tripping security have really turned me off to going back.
